ive unlocked my phone but it shoe no signal
when i go to the setting to it wont let me search for the network
.will this radio fix things ,if not what will
You can try flashing a radio, but you need to be s-off. Go to kohr-ah's firmware thread and flash 3.33 universal firmware after you are s-off.

so i just download ,follow instructions, and it will work. and this wont change my phone(delete anything)
Yes, It will change your firmware. Make nandroid backup first, and restore after you flash firmware 3.33. Also don't forget to delete that firmware file after you flash the firmware.
It won't delete or change any files or data on your phone.

If you are using CM10.1, which I'm guessing that you are, then your problem with the network search is not radio related. It's a known bug in CM10.1
The network search feature doesn't work. To my knowledge it doesn't work on any CM10.1 ROM for any device (I reserve the right to be wrong about that though)
You aren't doing anything wrong. There is nothing you can change to fix it. It has to be fixed in the CM source code.
If you are using CM9 please say so and we'll figure that out.
As for not getting any signal at all though, that may or may not be a different issue entirely. If CM 9 or 10.1 is booting for you (and if you are looking at the settings for it, then you are obviously booting) then you already have the updated firmware as both ROMs will only run on 3.32 or 3.33.
What country are you in and what network on your on?
Also, do you get no signal at all anywhere you go? Or is it just no signal at your house or something?
And if you switch to any other ICS or JB ROM do you get a signal? That's important. If you do then we can rule out a firmware, radio, or hardware issue.

There is no need to restore a nandroid after flsahing Kohr - Ah's firmware packages. They do not replace the ROM.
However, flashing new firmware can screw with the ROM and send it into bootloops. But wiping cache and dalvik from recovery will fix that, if it even happens.
Could he just flash the radio.img by itself by extracting the radio image from the firmware?

Only if he repackaged it into a new PM58IMG.zip file. But there's no need for all that since Stempox has already done it.
See this post.

All the Sensastion radios already packaged into flashable PM58IMG.zip's without the rest of the firmware packages.

put the pg58img.zip in the root of the sdcard
then boot into bootloader
it will search for that zip and recognize it
it will ask you to do the update
but wait for Skipjacks to confirm it
i don't know much about radio/rils(i said the above because these are the steps that requires when you are flashing firmware)

You don't need me. You are right!
But, check the md5 sum first after you download the pm58img.zip file. Check it against the on listed under the download link in Stempox's thread. If they don't match delete the file you downloaded and do not proceed.

My friend wants the official ics rom on his sensation.
It says that there is an update available but the text is something with twitter.
I tried to do that but after the download the phone reboots into 4ext and does nothing.
The phone WAS rooted.
I unrooted it by installing a ruu something.
I cant find the website where I can download al the official firmwares.
I've read something about that the md5 checksum is important.
5e5c95599080d31db7f660eebd17ffe2
Thats the md5 checksum
I will attach a picture of software information.
I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks!
if the phone is totally stock, and by that i mean no S-OFF, ROOT, Custom ROM, CID changed, you can go to htc.com, customer service, do a live chat, say you want the latest RUU for your sensation, they'll ask for your serial number, it's under the battery (S/N), and they will link you to a direct download. UNLESS official OTA hasn't reached you yet......also you should remove 4EXT, but flashing an RUU "should" do the trick..

It will replace 4ext recovery with your original stock recovery which is required for applying OTA updates.
You can use the same procedure with the recovery.img of 4ext recovery to flash 4ext again after the ICS update.

Hello,
I have problem flashing stock RUU, and I think its because of hboot 3.01.0000, or radio - 16.11.20.24_m.
Currently Im on HTC JB, installed with TWRP.
The problem is that wifi is not working. Everything else OK.
Is there any way to revert to stock firmware in order to flash JB RUU?
Thanks.
Try flashing the extra partition WiFi mod in the dev section, that should resolve your broken wifi. Unless you've installed a new kernel ? That can some times break your WiFi.

So, are you an S3 owner? if yes, go to that link download the TRWP Nandroid Backup / CID HTC__032 / 2.15.401.100 file and flash it with trwp recovery but don't forget to wipe system, cache, etc. before that, then if you open the TRWP Nandroid Backup / CID HTC__032 / 2.15.401.100 file with winrar you can see a boot file named boot.emmc.win at this point you have to fastboot it ( fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win ), then restart the phone and if you want, just go to settings> storge> factory data reset. So at this point you will start from fresh. anyway if you don't know what you are doing is better to search a little bit more before you do something wrong. I will not assume any responsibility if you break your phone.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I hope I'm posting this in the right section of the forum, apologize if not.
I'm just a super-noob at this overall cell-phone terminology for Rooting, ROMs and etc.
I want to root my phone and input the new Android Jelly Bean on it (I hope that's possible)
I have no idea where to start. When I search online I found some older threads on how to but I'm not sure if it's still viable.
I'll post my phone info and see where this will go.
HTC Sensation z710e
Android version 2.3.4
Software # 1.45.401.3
When I press "power" + "vol down" I see
-Revolutionary-
Pyramid PVT ship S-OFF RL
HBOOT 1.17.1111
Any help, hopefully step by step help will be most appreciated. Thank you for your patience and if you require more info let me know

probably you aren't rooted
but consider this
every custom rom comes prerooted
so there is no point to root your current one
about md5 sums:
put the zip in your sdcard
navigate with any file manager you have to that zip
tap and hold on it until it pops up a menu
go to properties
somewhere it will say show checksum or calculate checksum
it will show you a row of letters and numbers
then compare it with the one from the download link and see if it matches
note: once you flash the 3.33 universal(ics firmware) your current rom won't boot because it is a gb one
so you have to flash the new rom after upgrading your firmware
and don't forget to backup your current rom just in case
by the way do you have sdk tools installed in your pc?(adb and fastboot files)

Google md5 generator for Windows. Use the first link that you find.
If you have 4ext recovery, you can check md5 there itself.
Happy to help.
Okay, I checked with an MD5 program suggested, and it codes match. Great!
How do I backup my current ROM? I've heard of Clockwork and 4Ext but doesn't it require a Root?

fastboot oem rebootRUU => ok
fastboot flash zip "filename.zip" It says " (remote: 12 signature verify fail") in the end cmd
What should i do now?
Thanks for reading and help me pls!!!!
Ok, first mistake is that you thought you needed to be rooted to flash the Viper ROM, you don't. All you need is an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, which you had. You were probably stuck in the bootloader because you forgot to flash the boot.img from the ROM zip with fastboot, you need to do this because you're s-on.
The next mistake you made was attempting to flash an OTA. I don't know what made you think that you could do that but it definitely wasn't found in this forum (or anywhere for that matter). An OTA is only a partial OS, it relies on the correct stock OS to already be installed on the device to build on top of to update the existing OS. It failed for obvious reasons.
Unlock your bootloader again, flash a custom recovery again, and flash the ROM again. Make sure you flash the boot.img this time and it should boot right up. I'd strongly recommend you read the Evita FAQ thread and the How-To Guide For Beginners thread in my signature. Diving into modifying your device without the proper level of knowledge is a really bad idea.

Did you perform a factory reset from the bootloader at some point? If so you've corrupted your sd card, you should never perform a factory reset from the bootloader. If this is the case you'll need to use TWRP to wipe your sd card, then you should be able to mount it to Windows and use Windows Explorer to format. Once this is done you can for a ROM across again.
Exactly which build of Viper did you try to flash? What's the exact filename? Did you check the md5 before flashing?

yes, i did it more than once, now it's fixed, but when i mount it to Windows using TWRP, nothing happen, so i can't format it. and the same things when i tried to sideload. But in fastboot mode, it usual.
and i flashed the newest rom in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1868236 ViperXL 4.2 and i didn't check the MD5
back to my previous question, can i fash a custom rom without root?
I asked for the exact filename of the ROM for a reason, I need that please. Also, exactly which recovery are you using?

Yes, you can flash a custom Rom without root. He already answered that. I strongly recommend reading up on your device before flashing anything else. I'd suggest starting with getting your phone s-off.

I disagree. I think it's a better idea for him to get his head around the simple operations like flashing ROMs before attempting s-off.

I know which ROM you're flashing, I need the filename, as it appears in your file browser or Windows Explorer or something. Like this:
Code:
Romname.zip

And you should always check the md5 of anything you're about to flash. You should do that now to make sure the file isn't corrupt.

Make sure you check the md5 before flashing. A corrupt zip could brick your phone.

Firmware for Cellular radio reception FIX
Warning
Flash at your own risk!
Check MD5 checksum before flashing!
To revert back, flash your RUU.
Introduction
I have two HTC Sensations, I found that one has a lot better reception than the other one.
The one that had better reception, I flashed a Sense 3.5 RUU beforehand.
The other one that had not so good reception, I had flashed a Sense 3.6 RUU beforehand.
Both had the 3.33 universal firmware from @Kohr-Ah installed.
I compared the firmwares from 3.33 and 3.12, I found that 3.12 has pg2fs_spcustom.img and 3.33 doesn't, I think @mike1986. removed it.
My conclusion is, pg2fs_spcustom.img must be different.
From what I know, pg2fs_spcustom.img has encrypted radio related code.
So I have repackaged the universal 3.33 firmware to include pg2fs_spcustom.img
Summary
After flashing this firmware on my HTC sensation with the one with poorer reception, I found that reception is now far better and faster to connect and switch between towers.
My results may differ from yours but I'm sharing this as it may be a solution for some.
Installation
Place PG58IMG.zip in the root directory of your sdcard.
Check the MD5 checksum is correct = [HIGHLIGHT]3abc6ae08031d3dd4c1820d2c2046c1a[/HIGHLIGHT]
Reboot device into bootloader and confirm flash.
Note:
- Remove PG58IMG.zip from root of sdcard afterwards.
- Wipe cache in recovery afterwards, if device bootloops.
Thanks
@Kohr-Ah for Universal 3.33 Firmware
@rmk40 for 3.12 Firmware
@mike1986. for Firmware Images

Hello hinxnz, you said you include this pg2fs_spcustom.img file, but there is another file also rcdata.img you put in the universal 3.33 firmware package. what is the purpose of that file. thanks

Hello hinxnz, you are right i check and rcdata.img is include, but this file pg2fs_spcustom.img i didn't find in universal 3.33 firmware package. what is the purpose for this file then. thanks
Flashing this on mine results in CarbonROM not booting up anymore (gets stuck at the boot animation). Does it need a clean flash?
Update: flashing the Italian RUU and wiping cache+dalvik makes the phone boot again normally.
Before flashing one should make a Backup because device won't boot.
After flashing firnware, remove sd card, boot into recovery, insert sd card while booting recovery.
In recovery first wipe all except sd card.
Then restore backup and reboot.

It contains radio operation code.
It has been quite a while since I looked at these packaged but I believe newer packages no longer included it therefore there was no reason to remove it.

Clean flash not needed but sometimes cache needs to be formatted in recovery afterwards. In my case, it was not needed.
I'd make sure /cache is formatted as ext4 before flashing firmware too.
Also you don't lose any user data by formatting cache.
I think wiping cache and dalvik cache will solve the bootloop.

Formatting cache+dalvik after flashing makes it work, indeed. Thanks! I'd mention it in the first post, if I were you, it's kinda counterintuitive.
did not feel the difference.
