I am having issues with my Verizon Tab 7.7 i815 frequently dropping the wifi connection with my
router at home on Honeycomb 3.2 after flashing to ICS and back to Honeycomb.
I had been using this tablet for a year on Honeycomb 3.2 with no wifi issues at all on my home router
when I decided to give ICS a try.
Within a few hours of flashing ICS my wifi started dropping and I decided to flash back to 3.2.
However the wifi drops continued even after I flashed 3.2 back on the tab.
I dont think the router is the issue because I used the tablet with the router for a year on 3.2 with no
wifi issues at all - this all started the day I flashed ICS.
Also several tablets/laptops in the house use the same wifi with no issues.
I have tried wiping data/resets/wiping cache/wiping dalvik cache and still the issues persist.
I am at a loss here as to what do next.

I dont want to stay on ICS because of other issues even if the wifi was working fine.
I havent tried a static ip yet, always used dhcp. I used dhcp with Honeycomb for a year
with this tablet with no wifi issues at all.
Will try a static ip and see what happens.

did you update your baseband when you upgraded ICS? i know some roms (even stock roms) have upgraded baseband and a lot of times going back to stock keeps the newer baseband because its kept in a different partition. The most up-to-date baseband is LP11 and i was able to flash it no problem with desktop odin.

I have tried lots of ICS roms till now and with every rom Iam seeing same wifi issues.
Wifi keeps disconnecting every 15 20 mins.
Today I installed official ICS using ODIN and still same issue. I was thinking this wouldn't be present in final release.
Everything works perfect on GB. Very excited about ICS but can't use my phone with wifi issues
Did anyone notice this on their phone?

I haven't had this issue personally..
Have you tried more then one WIFI network? Just thinking maybe it's your access point/router that's having issues, try restarting it perhaps?
Edit: Could also try playing with the WIFI settings in the router, sometimes changing the channel works for especially angry devices.

As I said earlier, it has nothing to do with my Router as everything works perfectly if I am on GB. I have Kindle Fire(on CM9) and Galaxy Tab 2( CM9) also and no issues those devices.
I see the same issue at home as well as in office wifi.
As the wifi gets connected within seconds after getting disconnected so it doesn't effect Web browsing, but when playing online games it becomes a nightmare.
The Problem: WiFi disconnects every time i am barely downloading anything or just watching youtube, and re connects, and so on.
WiFi Modem: Zyxel P-2812HNU-F3
Ever since i bought Galaxy Nexus back in December 2011, I have had WiFi issues 24/7. I thought it was a hardware problem, but then i went to my friends house and tried his WiFi and it worked great. He had a linksys modem while I had Zyxel. Back then i honestly didnt think that the Zyxel modem could be the problem. Thats because i had Galaxy S 2 before Nexus and that phone worked great. But SGS2 was on 2.3. So i thought that Google ****ed up when they released ICS. I still do, for some of us. If you have the time, please look at this thread in Galaxy Nexus forum, where we discussed the problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386884
Long story short, i tried changing lot of things in router but nothing worked. When 4.1 was available for my Nexus, i downloaded it without even thinking that there might be a WiFi fix because i had given up on WiFi. I used 3g until 4.1 was out. Anyways, a few days after i had installed 4.1 i turned on WiFi and run a test in Speedtest app. Speed was great. But the thing i worried about was WiFi being disconnected. So i tried downloading a gameloft game and no diconnect. The whole game downloaded fine. But after a few hours later i noticed after downloading some movies it sometime disconnected and reconnected. I was mad at google again. But JB was much, MUCH better then ICS. Atleast i can use my WiFi now. Sometimes it works, other times it wont.
Yesterday i got my Transformer Infinity. This device is on 4.0.3. The first thing i did when setting up device, was downloading speedtest. I ran it, and it had the same problem that ICS on my Nexus had. I began to search again why this happens in ICS. I downloaded WiFiFix manager but that didnt help at all. Many other zips and apps didnt help either. So... Today, or tonight i opened up router page and started changing wpa2 to wps, like i did months ago for Nexus. But nothing helped. Then i wanted to try omething i havent done before, so i changed 802.11b/g/n to g only. Now WiFi works greta on my Infinity and Nexus. No disconnects at all! (lol i so hope that this is a permanently fix)
I dont know how that will effect my other devices, mostly PCs. So is this a Zyxel issue or Android? WiFi with n works normal with my PCs and other android devices. This must be because of 4.0+, right? I dont think its a hardware issue at all because my Infinity behaves same way.
Should i stay on 802.11g or is there something i can do to fix my devices to work with 802.11n?
Or is there a way i can enable 802.11g for Infinity and Nexus only, and use 802.11n for the rest?
Lately my phone's WIFi started to have issues. It will work for few minutes and then will stop receiving any data. The only way to temporarily fix it is to toggle WIFI off and on. But then again it will only work for few minutes, anyone has an idea what's wrong?
This issue I experienced on these roms:
Stock ICS Leak #1.
SCV7
Team Shogun's ICS rom 1.2
MIUI by team shogun.
MIUI by rdavict
Does it sounds like a hardware issue? Any troubleshooting tips?
Did you have the WiFi issues when you are stock which mean the first time you get your phone?Maybe it's your base ROM problem.

No, I had this phone for about one month, but the WIFI started acting up about one week ago.
Just did a fxz back to 2.3.6 and updated to ICS. Seems to be working without issues so far.
May not matter now (I'm downloading ics as we speak) but I "solved " this problem by also keeping my Bluetooth turned on all the time. Once I did that, the wifi disconnects (which started about 9 months after I got the phone) stopped. But I'm hoping the update has a fix.

The WIFI issues started again. Will try what jacindc suggested.
Edit:
Nope, enabled BT and WIFI, rebooted, WIFI stopped working within 2 minutes. It stays connected but doesn't receive any data until I reconnect.
Maybe delete and recreate your WiFi profiles too?
My wifi has been solid since upgrading, with Bluetooth turned off.

What do you mean by deleting and recreating WIFI profiles?
Been running CM10, and WIFI works great here.
I downgraded to ICS and the problem started again. Figured out what it was when my bro started complaining that his RAZR started having WiFi problems.
The problem was that the router gave out same IP address to both phones.
EDIT: Both phones have identical MAC address.
ive been posting this bug ive found all over but no one seems to have any ideas on how to fix it as it doesn't appear to effect many users. the issue is on any aosp based rom: cm10, aokp, slimbean, liquid..etc i get wifi errors such as wps failed and my router is out of range. this happens until i toggle off wifi and turn it back on. i always do fresh, clean install with full wipes before i flash the rom & gapps. ive tried everything including all different kernels to no avail. i know my router is ok because once i go back to any ics rom or jellywiz the wifi works fine. to me this sounds like a aosp kernel or wifi driver issue. how can i get this reported or looked into? as of now i know this effects myself and one other user ive talked to and he is stumped as well. i have a netgear wireless g router in case anybody wondered, current firmware as well. the devs ive reported this too seem to be ignoring my posts.
i seriously want to use one of the aosp roms but i cannot right now and it's driving me mad. any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
ill also add i tried changing to different security settings on my router to no avail.
What router does this other user use? The one you said has the same issues. Similar to yours?
I don't use my phone on wifi very often so I dunno, but if he has one similar to yours I would say there's a problem with that router liking AOSP ROMs.
Its a netgear wireless g. He said he has a wireless n. If its the router, why does every ics rom work? Never heard of a router disliking aosp lol. Im wondering if the problem is using the newest clockworkmod touch recovery? Im just trying to troubleshoot. Ive tried everything else tbh. Never had a phone puke when trying aosp and i mean any aosp rom.
Doesnt anyone else use netgear routers?

Someone fixed wifi with DNS server change. Don't know if it was same problem.
Speaking of dns i do use opendns on my pc. Just darn weird ics doesnt act up for me.
ICS has code made directly for our device/radios because that's what comes on our phones. Jelly bean, which all AOSP ROMs are based from, doesn't have any code made directly for ours. All the developers have ported it over to our devices and it will be imperfect until Verizon jelly bean comes out/gets leaked.

Got rid of opendns on my router and still a no go. Any other ideas guys? I feel left out not being able to use aosp. Gonna suck if i have to wait until the jb ota comes.
found a fix for anyone having issues with the wifi saying out of range or wps failed. go into your router settings and change your ssid name and password, restart your router and connect on your phone. worked great for me. don't now why this would happen on aosp roms but im glad i got it solved.

I've seen a lot of people say that simply rebooting their router fixed wifi issues on their phone. Are you sure the reboot alone wasnt responsible for fixing the issue?
well the issue is back with a vengeance, nothing seems to work for me now.

I've been a lurker for a while and created this account just to let you know I have the same issues but with a d2spr (sprint gs3). Only aosp roms and I've been through both slim bean and liquidsmooth rc9. It's definitely the phone, not the routers. With my phone, it only happens when I reboot for any reason. If I rebooted with wifi on, my toggles will still indicate that wifi is still on after the boot, but it will not receive any signal. Any networks that do show up in available networks state "out of range". Even if you were just connected to that network before the reboot and you are still in range it will state "out of range". Not until you toggle the wifi off, then back on, everything seems to correct itself until next boot. It has to be the wifi toggle in settings though and not the one on any widgets or any added to the notification tray. Weird. Any solutions on your end yet? Looks like it's been a few days without any updates.
I had this is issue and setting a static ip on my phone fixed it, it was a dhcp issue.
I just purchased a used HTC One X from the Rogers network and unlocked it. Before rooting it, on the Sense rom WiFi was working great. Very strong signal and it never dropped. Upon flashing CM10, it's not picking up my home network (which I know is working because I'm typing on it right now and the device was connecting to it earlier).
I downloaded WiFi analyzer and it's jumping between networks, some networks pop up and then disappear and then new ones pop up. WiFi is just acting very strange. I did all the appropriate wipes before flashing.
I found a lot of WiFi issues surrounding the international One X but I don't think this is a defect since it was working fine with Sense.
Does anyone else have any experience with this?
Thanks!
Just flashed back to a Sense rom, and low and behold my WiFi is working properly again.
I've had the same experience with CM10 (different nightlies) and AOKP, WiFi is just not reliable. I can connect just fine and the signal strength is the same as with Sense (including CleanROM) but at random times transfer speeds will go down or just drop completely, usually turning WiFi off and on fixes it but it happens again within a couple of hours.
I've tried a couple of tips from those threads like turning off the 5GHhz radio on my router but that doesn't seem to help

I can't even detect my home network. There's a few of the neighbors networks that pop up on and off but it's not consistent.
I'm literally sitting on my workstation which is connected to my home network and I have full bars. On Sense, I also get full bars and WiFi works as expected.

I've had troubles as well with WIFI on my device running CM10. I've posted numerous time to the CM10 dev forum but nothing comes from it at all. I had very good wifi with the Oct nightlies but now my Wifi is chocked off and doesn't perform as expected. I've tried rebooting my modem, router, switch everything and still the same results. Is there anyway to bring some attention to this or figure out the problem?
Help others and myself figure this problem out, anyone?

Are you on the stock kernel for CM10? Try flashing another kernel. It could be a kernel issue that you're having. I had this problem When I flashed PACman, and all i did was just flash Rohan's Build 5 and now my WiFi is working just fine.

I'll download rohans kernel as I've been using the built-in Kernal with that comes with CM10.
**Edit: I've installed RoHan's kernel but still the results are the same. The wifi and network become grayed out from time to time and websites fail to load. I know my home connection isn't quite that fast but there is no reason that the connection all together would drop.
my wifi icon on cm10 just turns grey after a while and doesn't receive any data. So i have to toggle it off and then on again to get it to work again

The CM10 stable rom is out for the LTE One X. I'm going to give it a go and see if any thing changes.
Check your region code under Wifi -> Menu -> Advanced Settings -> Region Code
Make sure it's under US (or wherever you are), reboot and see if that helps.

I'm located in Canada, and I've tried setting it to US and Canada. No dice.
I tried the a different kernel, CM10 nightly, CM10 stable, AOKP, and none of them are working.
I'm having a similar problem. My wifi won't turn on for some reason. It's related to the phone hardware, not my network. And I'm only seeing this problem when flashing the most recent nightly of CM10.
I'm not sure what else to try. Any ideas?
I've tried rohan's kernel as well as setting the region for the WiFi adapter but eventually it happens again. It's not as bad as some of the other posts I've seen, but it does kill data through WiFi at some point and transfer speeds drop.
Is there anyway to get further data on this? I know that my phone doesn't have the hardware "bug" first reported with a few of the devices. Any logs or error reports we can try and gather?
I managed to connect to my home wifi which I was previously unable to connect to, I had to change my router's wireless signal channel from 13 to 1. I am able to hold a signal fine, however I know many of my neighbors networks are not showing up like they should. Similarly, I am also unable to pick up my university network at school.
As I've said, Wifi works fine on Sense.
Is there any way I can help with error reporting in any way? I don't mind donating a bit of money to the CM team and help them get some logs.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one affected.
I would have to say this is completely a Kernel problem. I am having a similar issue in cm10 on N7000. But it's only happens to the some of the routers.
My house's router is a d-link product. And when you are connected you will having no issue, but once you restarted your phone you are getting trouble to reboot the router once to get your self connected again, in the phone, the wifi will stating "Connecting" like forever.
But I am not getting the same trouble when I am with my company's wifi and the Wifi of my friends lynsys. So its hard to tell the developer about this issue because it's not happens to all people. I hopes this info helps. Reboot the router usually works for me.

Unfortunately it's not always possible to reboot the router.
Like I said, I can confirm this issue and anything I can do to help I will try to provide.
These issues with CM10 and the new AOSP will almost make me *shutter's to think this thought* move back to sense.....I'm just not sure what to do. Should we link this to the dev thread?
Edit: I've captured a logcat from me turning on wifi, connecting to a website, and loading a second website to see the behavior. PM me if this would be of use.
This is the only reason I'm using a Sense-based ROM (CleanROM), nightly builds for CM10 run great and I have no other issues, but this one is kind of a deal-breaker for me.

I feel you man. I'm sticking with AOSP because I managed to at least get my home network working but it's definitely annoying not being able to get onto my university network.
