Custom rom suggestion - Android General

I have a Samsung galaxy ace (GT-S5830i) running on 2.3.6 android gingerbread
Recently I have rooted the phone so I could free up the memory by deleting stock apps.
I am thinking about installing a custom ROM.
I want something which doesn't have anything fancy in it. Basically I want it to be similar to what I have but with all of the useless rubbish removed.
The one I have been looking at is StockLite http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703094
Can anyone suggest any others?

Best way to root without installing custom rom? Keep stock

Hi whats the best way to root phone and keep it all stock, I just want to root to enable the side loading of apps and remove att bloatware.I know If I use hack tool it installs a desire rom. I came from the captivate which was a lot less difficult to root/install roms, so Im still learning thanks
There is no way to root without downgrading to a rootable rom. After you have rooted you can load one of the roms that is just rooted stock
sent from some device with some software.
Ok thanks thats what I was afraid of, ok can you recommend a stable rom that resembles stock I see in your using Android revolution.
Android revolution is Stock, but it's desire HD stock. I am actually on Digi1af's sense ROM. It's rooted stock (lightly themed) with all of the bloat removed with some very nice speed enhancements.

New to rooting with this phone

I have rooted 3 phones prior to this one. I have it all set up and running Refuse 1.7. I have seen that there are a good load of roms available for the infuse 4g. Many of them say 2.3.5, etc. Is that the android version needed by the phone before installing the rom? I am on 2.2.1 and am worried about installing any other rom, than one which has froyo in the name leaving me with only 3 choices. Any help would be appreciated I want to try a miui rom or something else from here but am worried that since I have 2.2.1 when I install one that has 2.3 in its name I will brick.

No bro, the " 2.3.5" or "2.3.6" its that ROMs Android version, not the one needed to install it, still you do need a modified recovery to easily install a custom rom. I would personally recomend this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220088
as a good guide for new guys trying to install custom roms since the instructions are very detailed and hardly would give you trouble. After installing that rom you would have gathered the necessary knowledge to choose your next rom like MIUI or CM7 or another samsung Infuse rom or Samsung port to Infuse.

[Q] ROM Options for GT-P5113 (U.S., Wifi-only)?

Hello, I'm trying to setup my friend's new Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113. The device is running 4.0.4 IMM76D.P5113UEBLH3 stock. It's very laggy and not very stable. I'm looking for a new ROM to flash and I thought the stock JellyBean OTA leak would be a good option, but apparently it's for the 3G version (even though say P5113 in the thread ). What is the best TouchWiz-based ROM I can flash on this device that will solve the lag and stability issues? I know that CM or AOKP would probably be much smoother, but my friend enjoys the multi-window functionality built into TouchWiz. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. You can already flash this kernel, you will get rid of the lags.
Or if you want to upgrade to 4.1.1, you can follow this guide.
There's also the cyanogen ROM option, but then you would lose touchwiz and all samsung's drivers and the applications like gallery, mini-apps etc.

[Q] Lightweight custom ROM with SNote possible?

Hello Community!
I own a Galaxy Note 10 since last year. Of course it's getting slower and slower and I've reached a point where I really want to try some custom ROM's.
The problem is the following:
I used SNote pretty extensively and so I pretty much would like to keep it. But I also know that Samsung Apps are not only memory hogging but also not all are very useful. So is there a possibility to get a stock ROM with only SNote on it? What is (in your opinion) the best and most stable ROM?
Thanks in advance!
Fabian
Just remove the Samsung apps to save space and ram on the stock rom
U need root to do that via Root Explorer app

Installing Custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Exhibit SGH-T599

Hello all and good morning!
I am fairly new to custom ROM installing and cannot find any info (updated) on installing a custom ROM to my SGH-T599 device!!!:crying: I could really use some help as the stock ROM for this "Galaxy 3 mini" knockoffs stock ROM is horrible.
I do have ODIN installed (v3.10.6) but am lost as how to begin to use it.
Here are some questions I have:
-How to download custom ROM?
-Is a backup already on my phone?
-Which ROM is best? (and compatible)
Thanks in advance for any help
EDIT: If i could just have an app or program to completely change the UI of my phone that would work too
