Since we are here how did you end up this way? May be as simple as fastboot flashing a recovery and mounting your sd card, putting a Rom on there and flashing it

If you can access bootloader it can be fixed.. this needs to be moved to q+a..

It's far from dead, that's for sure. First off, Is this an international quad core HTC One X or a Carrier locked dual core HTC One X? The two models vary greatly and before we can proceed this is crucial to know. In your hboot it will either say endeavor or evita if you are unsure just post which one it says.
What recovery/version are you using? What hboot version? Are you S-On or S-Off?
Once you answer these questions, helping you will be easy as pie.

I seem to have the same problem. Let me specify.
My One X (international) will enter hboot on boot, and unless USB is disconnected it will be stuck on 'Checking SD card update...'. So when I disconnect my USB it will enter hboot, and from there I can also enter fastboot. However, when I reconnect USB and enter fastboot (or the other way around, it doesn't matter) fastboot freezes. It will un-freeze as soon as I disconnect the USB. ADB can't find my device, and neither can fastboot on my computer (running Linux), even though they both could in the past.
My One X is RELOCKED (as it displays at the top of the screen at hboot) and it also prints "Security Warning".
Regards,
Joost

you could just use the
[TOOL] OneClick SuperCID for Unlocking Bootloader
or try this way...if you are not familiar with command lines.
adb push mmcblk0p4MOD /sdcard/mmcblk0p4MOD this?
you know what...
type
adb push
then drag the mmcblk0p4MOD file to the terminal/command
type a "space"
then type

And now, I lock again and reset the cid to the generic value, HTC__622, followed to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26638060&highlight=fastboot+oem+lock#post26638060 to install 1.85
But the ruu installer still told me error 130, meant the Model ID is wrong?

[Q] Can someone help unbrick my phone?

Hello,
I hope someone can advise me what to do to unbrick my phone. First of all i´ll post phone details,
HTC ONE X 16gb ATT
HBOOT 1.14 unlocked -ON
2.20 Stock ROM
Rooted
TRWP Recovery 2.3.1 wen it the bootloop happen, now it has 2.3.3
Ihad succesfully rooted my phone than I came accross an JB RUU from europe and tryed to run it whilebootloader was unlocked and got an error after a while after it tryedo to push the file, My worst mistake was that I thought I runned a backup and did not.
So when I go to recovery mode on TWRP I tryed to push a custom ROM thru the mounting usb feature and it asked me to format the drive, after a while trying it I said &%$· it and format it, I can now load smal files but not ROM because of the size I judge it, it gets stuck on the transfer bar at around 10%.
Since I thought I wasnt going to be able to fix it I just went and wipe everything even system.
Do I have a $300 dls. paperweight now, or is there still hop for it?
I appreciate your help.
Let's get you a fresh start than you can do some more reading.... Go into bootloader than click fastboot now on your comp navigate within a command prompt to where you have your fastboot files stored and type "fastboot OEM lock" that will lock your bootloader and than grab the 2.20 ruu and run it while in bootloader mode and you'll be back
Same thing I was gonna post, to slow lol
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium
Also, next time don't flash anything for the international One X unless you want a real brick.

Ok, I´ll try it again, after reading some posts here I capture that bootloader neeed to be locked went and tryed it and, they 2.20 RUU from ATT which is the original one, it just kept on pushing the file for more than an hour I just unpluged it and kept on playing with it.
Shoul I leave it runing all night long?
By the way is it normal that there isn't any progres bar on the phone.?
Don't push the RUU.. Download it to your computer and run it with your phone plugged in.

Can you still get to recovery? If so just download cleanrom 5.1, transfer that rom and flash the whole thing in twrp
To do this just "mount" in twrp. Go to my computer, and locate cleanrom.. Just drag and drop the zip file onto your phone. Now "unmount" and choose install in twrp. Choose cleanrom, slide to flash.

You can manually go into boot loader by holding power and volume down at the same time until lights stop flashing then let go of the power while continuing to hold volume down. Wait a few seconds and you should be in boot loader.

You have to flash the boot image separate through fast boot. Ur phone is fine it just has the wrong boot image. Use WinZip or something to open the ROM zip file and look for the file boot.IMG and copy to your adb folder and then while hooked to PC in the boot loader (should say fastboot USB) flash the boot image from there. I'm not sure the exact command but its something like fastboot flash flash boot.IMG ( correct me if I'm wrong I'm have been on 1.09 and s-off so I never had to bother)

O2 does carry the dual core EVITA, if that is what you are asking.
EDIT: I see know from the hboot photo below, that the phone is indeed an ENDEAVORU. So it looks like O2 is one of those carriers that support both the dual core and quad core versions.

You tell him Ken! There are two forums for one x. One for the one XL(EVITA) and one for one X(ENDEAVOR). Use the files from the wrong one and you are going to brick it!
BTW I love your user pic Ken. Looks real tasty!

am new to xda and i really need your help............. even if this is the wrong forum ..(just help me out)
You're asking in the wrong forum. Go to the HTC One X forum, where the people there are familiar with your phone and can help you properly. Nobody here is familiar with your phone, our phone is a different model, we cannot help you. It's not that hard to search.

If you have the evita, stay within this section and you will be fine.
I just noticed your other post in different thread. Are you having trouble flashing?

Go into bootloader by holding power and volume down until the lights top flashing. Release power but continue to hold volume down. It will say evita. All the roms in development and original development will work. If you are having bootloop problems, let me know your hboot version and if you are s-off. You may have to flash boot image separately.

thanks now i know
ok
Hboot version is 2.1.4.0000
and im still getting same problem.
If you are s-on, you must simply fastboot flash boot boot.img whereby the boot.img is extracted from the rom you're flashing.
If that doesn't do it, check the md5 of your rom. If it's correct, make sure you are using twrp 2.3.3.1 or under, if not, flash twrp 2.3.3.1 or under and then fastboot erase cache. Then wipe everything and flash your rom. If you are s-on you need to fastboot flash boot boot.img

You will have to try flashing boot image manually. On your computer, open the custom ROM zip using an unzip program (WinZip, WinRAR, etc.) and extract the file "boot.img" (no quotes). Place this file in the same folder as fastboot.exe..the command to flash a boot.img is: fastboot flash boot boot.img
