IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE FLASHING!
1. If you flash this ROM from Stock ROM, it will wipe data due to different partitioning. The device would reboot while flashing and resume again.
2. Once on this ROM, the most effective way of going back to any other ROM would be to repartition from Odin.
3. While converting the filesystem, your efs that has your IMEI is backed up to /emmc/backup/efs. Keep a backup on your PC just in case.
4. Incase if you don't get a network signal, check if your IMEI and Baseband are proper. If not, go back to stock and try again.
5. Do NOT use Odin to flash Modems. Due to different partitions, Odin will screw up your existing MTD setup.
Stock ROM
1. Flash CWM Compatible Kernel (CF ROOT)
2. Reboot to Recovery.
3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
7. Flash Google Apps.
8. Reboot
Any other AOSP ROM (CM7/MIUI/CM9)
1. Reboot to Recovery.
3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
7. Flash Google Apps.

Here is a fix to use the navigation bar resized comfortably for our i9003
you can activate and adjust the extended desktop on 'status bar visible' and use PIE without the navigation bar.
Change resources unsigned only 100% clean !
framework-res\res\values\bools.xml
Code:
<bool name="config_showNavigationBar">true</bool>
framework-res\res\values\dimens.xml
Code:
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height">25.0dip</dimen>
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height_landscape">32.0dip</dimen>
<dimen name="navigation_bar_width">21.0dip</dimen>
enjoy...

Had 1 sod with default governor and i/o scheduler, had hot boot trying to install an app and unable to install a banking app,(Play store says device non compatible with this app).
Screen tear is barely unnoticeable. BT and wifi woks flawesly.
Reboot option turns off the phone, not necesary to pull the battery to boot up.
Its a smooth rom, much more than i expected for a first release.
Needed some battery cicles to have a good report of battery life.
Good rom, thanks god dhiru.

I will disable the USB Gadget for the next release if I don't get it working, so that the phone could be charged from USB without crashing.

no sod to me in original condition
the battery life with wifi on all night is good
nothing to report

That would be nice. :good:

The battery life on idle is pretty good. I suspect maybe some driver might be misbehaving when it comes to battery drain. Thanks to Samsung for all those useless crap drivers.

Noticed the same on CM10 2013-04-18.
This minor bug is also present in CM10 (all builds), yes.
Nice job Skrilax and nadlabak
I want to try it but I think I will wait until video recording will be OK.
I heard that new kernel is needed? Who is developing this new kernel (if someone is doing this)? Motorola or it must be some modified custom kernel?
And what is wrong with keyboard backlight? Is it non-working at all or it's just some problem with automatic turning on and off?

3.4 kernel is in work by Hashcode, this uses heavily patched 3.0.y kernel (shared with all Motorola QC phones on MSM8960) and I don't expect that video camera will work until 3.4 kernel is used.
Keyboard backlight works, only automatic brightness will not work (yet).
I have an issue flashing ROM from 29/04/2013.
The are two errors (chown 0 1000 and chmod 750) to the /system/bin/iptables binary, because the file does not exist.

I already thought about this. The md5sum is correct. I have the same problem with the build from today.
Maybe I'm having issues with my external sdcard, i discovered some strange files on it.
---------- Post added at 09:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:00 AM ----------
Well... Seems like a sdcard issue. Flashing from internal storage worked perfectly.:good:
Please remember that in regard to CDMA, we totally rely on your feedback.
Just let us know what works and what not, thanks.
So Stock JB is needed to use this? Where could I get that, from my understanding I´d have to wait for the OTA or use the SOAK, right?
Anyway, as long as Video ain´t working, CM10 will do fine
At the moment I'm at the ROM of 30/04/2013. But I can't upgrad the the one from 01/05/2013 or 02/05/2013. Checksum is correct, ROM has been loaded from internal storage, so this can't be an issue with the external sd card. Unfortunately I can't find the recovery.log file. It is not at /sdcard/clockworkmod where it should have been copied to.
An other issue I have is with NFC. On the CM10.0 build there was a point in the settings under "wireless&networks/more" where NFC could be activated/deactivated and so on. At the CM10.1 build there is nothing. So I can't test if it works or not. Could you reactivate this please?
Also if you enable NFC it would be great to have a point for NFC in the quick settings.

Great, thank you! :good:
So I only have to understand why the flashing doesn't work for me.
Ok, I was able to flash the last two ROMs.
NFC works!
But you should add the following to the build.prop:
Code:
#NFC
debug.nfc.fw_download=true
debug.nfc.se=true
This enables nfc for the Play Store. Otherwise it is not possible to get nfc specific apps like nfc taginfo and several others!

Bugs & FAQ
Known Issues:
RIL not compatible with A701
Flashing L might take a while in recovery (please be patient)
First boot might take a while too !
Setting brightness to minimum while on auto brightness may cause the screen to go completely dark with no way to set it back except for guessing where the brightness setting is or using adb to force set a higher brightness. (should be fixed)
If you have a black screen at first boot or after bad settings manipulation, use this commande in adb :
Code:
adb shell "echo 255 > /sys/devices/platform/pwm-backlight/backlight/pwm-backlight/brightness"
If it doesn't work, push power to enable your screen and try the command again.
If the bug comes with auto-brightness enabled, you can put your sensor on a light to force it to level up the brightness.
SELinux not in enforcing mode
GPU HWComposer & HDMI, please check this post

Ahhh! Just as I'd resolved to sell my ol' A700 and purchase a new device, here you come with your awesomeness again, Shreps!
I'll give this a try if I can in the next few days - and savor the irony of having this on 5.1 when LG can't be bothered to release their LP ROM to my GPad 8.3...

Thanks a lot, nice to have the latest OS to play with, although my A700 had been succeeded, this is still great stuff!
Just installed. No problems so far. Big thanks.

My parents have a Acer A700 . I have changed ROM from CM11 to Pacman, because the performance was very poor. They are actually very happy with it. What is the performance of your CM12 against CM11 or Pacman KK? Is it worth changing to Lollipop.
ok here's my findings...
successfully customized and settled into it, very stable, and have not found anything broken, with 2 minor exceptions:
1. bluetooth didnt want to receive a titanium backup file (but probably due to file extension and not a bug?)
2. expanded desktop did not retract nav/notification bars properly until the setting was turned off and then back on again.
in regards to recovery, in the wipe menu theres no options or descriptions distinguishing wipe data apart from wipe data+media.... although in the storage/mounts menu, there was different options for each and thats the method i used to wipe clean.
===========================================
system partition space....
i had to resort to the Micro gapps to install successfully, even after deleting about 50mb of not-necessarily unneeded apps. after installing that though, i installed swype (/data) and deleted AOSP keyboard (40mb+ /system) allowing for the installation of Mini gapps.
also, this rom has Ringtones included, which are useless on a wifi-only device so i was able to save another 20mb or so.
Thank you, Shreps, for this ROM! Have been testing it for a couple of days, and it's nice, the performance is the same as on CM 11 - actually it feels even smoother
Still, I have encountered two issues so far.
First is poor video performance when LiveDisplay (adaptive colour temperature) is on (i.e. at night) - but I think it is not the ROM's fault: our tablet is not brand new
Second issue is noise in headphones (there was no noise on CM 11). Disabling stock AudioFX (and its complete removal) as well as installing ViperFX, which I used on CM 11, change some audio effects but not the constant ssssshhhhhhh.
Everything else is very nice
curious, would the partition resize function in the new 2.8.7 TWRP be of any help for making this tab lollipop friendly?
installed "cm-12.1-20150616-UNOFFICIAL-a700"
working great so far - only thing was that I need to install nano gapps (all others ended in: not enough space on /system)
thx a million Shreps

Changing partition size on the A700 seems dangerous. You will have no tools to go back in case of crash.
But if the /system partition size becomes a problem, a quick possible fix is to merge the A510 code in order to use LVM
and merge /system and /flex as a unique bigger /system partition
(/flex is an unused partition with CyanogenMod, only used by the Acer stock)

by my limited knowledge of resizing partitions, it is my understating that, for example, if flex is immediately after system, shrinking flex from it's beginning towards its own end, and expanding system from it's end outwards would have the least potential to cause issues with the table
if this is the case, or otherwise the risk of problems are merely theoretical or on the basis of a battery dying mid-process or an obscure crash like overheating... I am willing to be the guinea pig
Thought zkernel is default 1.6 ghz clock. I see this ROM has it capped at 1.5 ghz. Is that by design?
Awesome ROM btw so far. It is just wicked snappy. Got 20K in Antutu after first boot and everything defaults. Not bad for a 3+ yr old device.
Kudos Shreps, great job.
A new build is online based on the r6 tag
Get your test Rome, thank you for your work.
Just wanted to say Thank You so very much for this update! I was all set to get rid of my A700 and I just flashed this ROM via Clockwork and love it!
Thank you, shreps. My A700 runs 5.1.1 since four days with only one random reboot. Everything works fine and smooth. No graphic memory issue, as in the previous rom. Good work!!
Sent from my A700 using XDA Free mobile app
Wow Awesome going to flash r6 tonight after being on r4 for a week.
We are incredibly lucky to have Shreps developing the latest OS for A700. Thanks Shreps

I haven't tried calling, but since I'm still on this ROM, I'm gonna try it. Will give you feedbacks tomorrow. Its the middle of the night here so I can't make any calls

Happened to me randomly 3-4 times a day (in the last rom) after making few calls only. Need to reboot and things go fine again
I have a small request since I'm a total noob at f#cking around with ROMs and my device root directories: Make a CM 13 for Lenovo A536? I tried to use one from the well-known MTKRoms that generalized their ROM for all MT6582 devices and caused my phone to enter a bootloop.
I was forced to install from backup and am now trying to pull my boot.img with no fruitful result. Guess I'm forced to stick with CM 12.1. Thanks for this update.

Actually I've already ported CM13, but due to its instability I won't release (that's what I had in mind, until I saw this comment). Since you want it so badly, I'll release it for you.

3G data connection, GPS issues
I have flash it on my Lenovo a536, but I have the same issues as any CM 12.1 roms. I'm working with 3G data connection only on SIM 1. If for some reason the network switched from 3G to 2G, then the data connection dropped and stay that way until I restart the device. Is there any work around about it?
As for the GPS, some times it locks about 2 - 3 minutes and sometimes it could take 15 - 20 minutes. The tests performed every time on the same location outside. The worst part is when it locks, the position error starts from 15 meters and starts drops to 5 meters, with the use of 7 - 8 satellites. Then it starts to move up again to 15 meters, with the same satellites use. That makes GPS completely inaccurate. Also when I enable 3G data connection, then the GPS signal gets lost and some times it came back but the location error is worst.
For daily use I'm working with PussyFap4. The time to lock GPS it takes from 1 - 2 minutes max and 4 second min. When it locks the position error is about 2 - 4 meters constant and the 3G connection data it doesn't affect GPS signal. Also the switch of the network from 3G to 2G it doesn't affect the data connection.
getting error that installation aborted?...
can you help me please !

Hey, I installed a custom ROM (not this one) and my phone is stuck into the logo of the ROM and doesn't open to the main screen can anyone tell me How to solve this problem?
Note: the first time I installed it didn't install Gapps but after that, I tried another ROM (The Same Problem) finally I tried the Official one miui12 but still with the same problem
Bug
Thank you for the bluetooth fix and for the rom it does have some incompatibility issues with some apps but this certainly isn't your fault they just were not made for android 11. Only bug i have found is that the "Extreme Battery Saver" does not let you pick the "when to use option" and if you press it twice then it crashes it is not a big issue, still reporting tho because some might want that feature.
Edit: The app crashes were caused from system webview everything works perfectly after updating, again thank you for your hard work. Of course it did not change anything about the Extreme battery saver setting.
Some Fixes
If some apps crash (google maps as well) update the system webview to the latest version.
Note: I installed the latest version from the internet because it did not show any updates on the play store now most apps work fine and do not crash.
If you are using greenify and it crashes when you press settings, install riru and riru edxposed and the edxposed apk from here https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposedManager/releases/tag/v4.6.2.0.0. then reboot and enable the greenify in the module's section, reboot once more and the problem is solved.
If google play store crashes when you are trying to make a purchase download the latest version here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/ then reboot and the problem should be solved.
Bug
In settings, display, styles and wallpapers icons do not change.

Hello,
Thank you for this rom, everything seems to work fine so far but I have a strange bug.
When I use FM, I have no sound on wired headphone, the rest work fine scan, RDS… and I can use headphone with others app.
I tried to find something in log but didn't find something useful.
Thanks for your help

Waouh, this one is tricky, it works with normal headphone but not with my jack-jack cable which wire my audio system. The really strange thing is that other sounds works fine and the same phone and cable can ouput FM radio fine on CM11. By plugging and unplugging the cable, I’ve heared a microsecond of radio, then nothing… I will try to investigate further

Not just WIPE, but use FORMAT DATA from TWRP.
Firmware means if you were coming from stock 7.0 or 6.0.
Hi, I installed the rom and formatted ,I think I forgot to format the twrp data as the system does not pass the lineage loading logo, affected this in that ?
The phone had Android 7.0 Nougat stock and my phone model is hiaewhl.
Thank you very much and I look forward to your reply.

Just go back to TWRP and FORMAT DATA.
Ok,but, how can I turn off the device if it is in the charging logo haha ?
Do I wait for the battery to run out?
Another thing, then when i can access twrp,i just go to wipe-format data right ? or do i have to redo the dalvik, system, cache, and internal storage wipes(for this one don't worry,i have literally nothing already on this phone).
Thank you!
