Hello all
I don't know if it is just me, but wired headset audio routing is not working with new kernel images. I've seen it working with previous kernels but I can't remember which works.
Is it happening to you? Can someone tell me if it is a kernel or build issue?
Thanks to everybody and specially to dzo
Same here, no audio output to wired headset. Even phone's speaker doesn't turn off when headset is connected (if it plays something).
It is the greatest feature that I am missing - I cannot connect Pola100 with Android to my car audio system (hands free and music).
And I have never used any zImage which worked with it.
A long time ago it used to work, but you needed to stop audio playback before connecting wired headset. After this, hopefully it worked sometimes.
kallt_kaffe has answered me in Linux and Android for Vogue thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7007716&postcount=5444). He says that maybe it could be fixed with kernel inside VaniljEclair RLS7 package.
I can't test it until I go back home after work. Can someone check if it is fixed?
No luck, still doesn't work
Hi everyone
I have a HTC Desire S with CyanogenMod 7.1 Stable and ClockworkMod as recovery. Everything is great except for my stock htc desire s headset.
When I insert the headset the headset is registered (showing a small icon with headset+mic) but the microphone is not working. It is not working in calls and not working in other apps (for example Sound Recorder which comes with CGM). The internal microphone in the telephone however remains active during calls. The microphone is working hardware wise, I use the headset with my laptop.
I am aware of this topic: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...headset microphone__fromsearch__1#entry237827
But I have a different phone and I am already using CGM 7.1 and just using 7.1 hasn't fixed my problem
Are anyone aware of any fixes / workarounds for this? Maybe some nightly builds which fixes it or similar?
Side note:
It also turns out that only one earplug is working (like mono sound) when using the headset in a call. Both works perfectly when using the Music-app wich comes with CGM.
Best regards
Wuhtzu
Could it be that the htc desire s stock headset uses a proprietary driver only included with htc sense or similar?
Best regards
Wuhtzu
I have same problem with u dude, but sometimes headset n mic work fine. I don't have any idea 4 that.
If that happened I just reboot my desire s n hope the problem is gone.
Sorry 4 my bad english

Could you be persuaded to try and report the result back? Plug in the stock headset with mic, note which icon is displayed (earphones or headset), try the headset in an app (Sound Recorder for example) and try the headset in a phone call.
im sorry for not being able to try now, but as i recall it works fine, just the icon that appears is for earphones with no mic, although i have the stock headset plugged in , but when i reboot with the headset plugged in the icon displayed is the one for a headset (with mic icon)
probably just a rom issue, not a big deal since the mic works
The problem persisted for me with the Cyanogenmod 7.1. I however never tried to reflash 7.1, which some people claimed would fix the problem. So that I will never know for sure.
I do however know that CGM 7.2 RC1 is here now and that upon first boot after 7.2 flashing my stock headset works as expected.
The icons ect. are the same as described vigorously in the original post. Only difference is that now the microphone actually works.
Thumbs up to 7.2 and the CGM team!
SOLVED for me!
Not sure if it is the same issue, as sometimes when I plug the headset only the headphones icon appears (the one without a mic icon) and sometimes the headset icon appears (the icon WITH a mic) and the mic works.
IT IS SOLVED now! turned out that when I plug the headset socket SLOWLY the mic DOES NOT WORK, but when I plug it FAST ENOUGH the mic works perfectly and the headset icon appears.
Hope this would help you out

Hi Everyone,
I feel happy to come here; this is truly a good place to learn different android tweaks and development.
I had a very specific question about my HTC Desire. I am testing the BCM CM9 mod from the Desire sub-forum, and it said the headset should work.
However, after I flashed the rom, everything works (m2sd, apps restore) except this annoying headphone detection issue.
My Desire seems cannot detect the headset after I plugged in; no headset icon shows up in the notification, test playing music still go through speakers.
Does anybody experience this issue? I should have post this under the CBM CM9 mod thread but the 10 posts limit limits me to do that...
Anyone has the similar problem? and How can we test in Android terminal to see if the headset is detected by kernel? Thanks!
THE PROBLEM:
The internal microphone does not work for call audio unless I plug in headphones. The same applies to speakerphone mode.
My Bluetooth headset works fine, as do my old iPhone earbuds with built-in mic. In both cases, their respective external microphones were used and functioned appropriately.
The issue seems localized to the Phone app. The microphone works fine in Sound Recorder as well as dB Level. At first I suspected a faulty headphone jack, but I've installed SoundAbout and it properly detects when I plug in or remove my headphones.
THE BACK-STORY:
I've had been running CM9 RC2 on my phone for some time now, and decided it was time to check out CM10. I flashed the 3/04/2013 CM10.1 Experimental M2 build and got hit with the call audio issue. I used roger_n's unofficial ROM for a few days and subsequently updated to the 3/25/2013 CM10.1 nightly. I've pretty much had this issue ever since then, and I never had any issues prior to flashing CM10.1.
I've tried going back to CM9 and also upgrading the radio to UCLF6. I've done a full wipe and formatted /sdcard.
Can anybody offer any insight?
Odin back to stock. See what happens then.
Hi all,
I just got the OPO few days ago and I'm having issues with bluetooth. I use bluetooth in my car to stream music. Everything was working fine on my Nexus 5.
On the OPO i can connect without problems but when playing some music there is some strange stuttering and skipping of music...
Anyone also having this issue ?
I'm thinking this is a software bug as I found out that CM had a lot of issues with bluetooth stuttering...
Bump ?
I haven't had any issues. I've probably steamed at least 12 of audio over Bluetooth so far this week. Being CyanogenMod, I'm not sure if it supports aptx or just a2dp. Either way, no issues here.

What rom? Did you change performance settings? Installed Viper4Android? Anything not stock?
fwiw I found that V4A caused issues with certain settings (convolver enabled, clarity) if low max screen-off frequency was forced. Otherwise my BT doesn't skip at all or lag on two sets of speakers, Sony MDR-1RBT headset and a car stereo.
Does your previous phone have the same prob?

I'm now on Mahdi ROM and I have the same issue. I'm streaming via bluetooth into a FM transmitter (http://www.newpotatotech.com/TUNELINK_ANDROID/tunelink_android.html). It was working fine with my Nexus 5.
I don't think I changed anything... I will try to troubleshoot it again, but I think it must be some software bug..

Same issue here. With a tunelink FM transmitter.
I don't have any problems with a prius Bluetooth and generic chinese navigation system.

With the M8 stable rom, the Audio quality is better, the micro stutters are still there though
It's a known bug with CM11 no fix in sight as far as I could find:

Atleast we are not alone. Hope it gets fixed soon.
I also have issues with Bluetooth, I use Poweramp as my media player and have it set to autoplay when it connects to BT but when it connects, it plays a brief second and stops. I have to manually play the music.
I also noticed it only sends the first song metadata rather than change every time I play something different... Annoying.
had similar problems with both my S4 and Z1 on CM (using both since one is my private and one my business mobile) Both are now on PAC (7/10/2014) and even before that i did not have the bluetooth issues with them on PAC. try it out - there is a PAC for the One (which i will use as well when mine arrives this week (hopefully))
or try with omnirom - they use a different BT implementation

Cheers

Could you give us a link to the PAC ?
Check bacon-1005 on jira and vote it up. Cyan-4147 was reported specifically for the m7 and it's gki_Linux errors. There are some patches I'm testing to isolate the cause of the stuttering. Don't worry you all are not the only ones with the issue.

Yes got to have good bluetooth in call reception, every other rom i tried terrible.
PAC rom bluetooth quality?
Can anyone confirm that PAC rom has fixed the problem of bad quality BT audio?
I am runnig the stock CM rom - now rooted, but the problem has been there all the time since I got the phone. The sound quality is not acceptabe with my Lexus RX 450h handsfree for the outbound call audio, that is I can hear quite well, but the other person can not.
My old phone Galaxy Nexus worked just fine, so there has to be something wrong with OPO's bluetooth.
Guys user: BIOYAM
Found a fix that worked for him and for me. You can try this:
Install SetCPU (I used a free app No-frills Cpu controll) with Governor: Interactive, CPU: Max 2265MHZ & Min 652
This totally stopped my bluetooth audio issues. Of course you need to be rooted to use these tools.
Hope this helps. :good:
Problem solved!
Hey problem solved
I had bluetooth pairing and buffering problems and now everything works perfectly. what I did was flash OPO_OxygenOS_1_0-modem-flashable.zip (you can find it somewhere in google docs..don't remember the link)
anyway after doing that everything works perfectly.
I am running cyanogen 12.1 nightly build from 20150601
then I flashed the modem.
