Excuse me if I open this thread in the wrong section and with the wrong title...
Hi everybody..
This morning i found the Tapa 4 open beta free on the Play Store.. I was happy till i read the description.. It is written that the final release will be merged with Tapatalk Hd, born for tablet.. Here are an abstract of the description taken from Tapa 4 open beta's Play Store page:
This is the public beta release of Tapatalk 4. Final release of this app will be merged with Tapatalk HD and will be renamed to Tapatalk 4
It's not right that Tapa 2's users, that paid 2,49 € this app, will be kick out from this upgrading.. So i sent an email to Tapatalk admin about this.. If you want you could sent an email also to try to change their mind about this decision.. Here are the details of the mail:
Address: [email protected]
Object : About new Tapa 4
Email text:
Good morning,
I am a very happy and satisfied user of your app Tapatalk 2.. It is the first app that I bought on my android phone and thanks to it and you, i have enjoyed my preferite forums without problems, quickly and in usefull way.. very very usefull way.. I love your app and I thank you for your working on this app to improve it.. The 2,50 € that I paid is not much for this amazing app.. I paid it with my heart! And i am grateful toward you.. Infact I never thought to get Tapatalk via warez because I think that is the App must-to-have for every users forum in the world...
But this morning i see the tapa 4 open beta on Play Store and I read in the description that it will be merged with Tapatalk HD once the beta will finish...
I appreciate your work to improve this app.. The Tapa 4 beta works Amazing and looks like very nice... And i am grateful toward you.. But i don’t agree with your decision to merge Tapa 4 with Tapa HD, that was born only for Tablet...
I think that all users that bought your Tapa 2 are agree with me because Tapa 4 is an upgrading of Tapa 2 and not a new app.. I know that there is an hard work behind an app, but your decision to kick out all Tapa 2 users that paid your app is very wrong..
I wrote this email to let you know what your customer are thinking about your decision to merge Tapa 4 with Tapa HD... Surely it’s not only a my standalone opinion...
<Mod Edit>
I hope in your explanation answer about your decision and in a changing of your decision about the merging Tapa 4 with Tapa HD...
Regards
<Your name and surname>
Please share this thread in the main thread forum respecting the forum rules (e.g. your signature) .. I don't do this because i consider myself the last arrived on this amazing forum and i know that crossposting and OT are forbidden
Thanks XDA for your support and for the days that i have spent enjoying myself to search and read your useful infinite threads
PS: if moderators think that this discussion is useless please close the thread!

It looks great!
I've also tried, but I faced problems..firstly,even if I log in my xda account it wasn't saved...anyone faced that?

Tapatalk 4 is a fully new App when compared with TT2, the whole code has changed.
TT HD users will get TT4 for free.
TT2 users will get a discount on TT4.
What happened to taptalk 3? Is it nonexistent? What's the reason for it? I don't use taptalk for xda, but fire a few other forums. The xda app is good enough for new. C:

OP, do you see what your wording has done here?
You mentioned that you'd get the app illegally if forced to pay for it and now others have started saying the same thing. As you should be aware, talking about warez is against forum rules so you shouldn't really have mentioned it in your post.

Hey guys i need some help. can someone tell me how to make an android app that connects users to my forum?
What do you want your app to do? Hyperlink your users to a forum on the web or have an integrated forum as part of your app?
Check out the "Droid Forums" app on the Android Market...great example of a forum app. See if that's what you want to do and copy it!

I would also be interested in this.
ie how did XDA get an XDA APP
how would I do the same thing for "another" forum ?
does it require integration with the forum itself?
IE zettaboards is there a way to make a forum app for a zettaboards forum?
ahh think I found it

I know nothing about it yet but I think this is what the XDA and SU apps are built on
OK tapatalk is a non starter for us average joe's $999 !! ouch
but if you make a proboards account you can use the proboards app
I am trying that now.

While tapatalk does cost $999 for a custom app, your forum users could just use the generic tapatalk app if you have the free tapatalk files installed on your sever.

Sorry to post on a kind of old topic... but I'm interested on doing that! I want users can access the forum I manage, similar like Tapatalk, but in a free way.
How can I do it? Can I copy the files or something? I don't mind if I need to buy Tapatalk for doing a free app...
Thanks!
Sorry to bring an old thread, but i thought it would be better reviving this one than making a new one.

Well, I looked on Internet for that, I read a lot but with no luck at the end. I still don't know if it's possible in a easy and not so expensive way. My forum is also on Tapatalk and Forum Runner.

I found perfect site for creating apps...Yesterday I ended up on some site called apps-machine.com . I have to share it with you guys. I started creating my own app and after 15 minutes clicking on their control panel(no programming, just clicks) I made app in what user could make effects on their photos, paint photos, play music, play videos, have notepad, chat and stream music. They got literally 1000's of features on their control panel I think this could be a gold mine And I read something that they have free app development and so on. Aaand you can change everything all the backgrounds,colors,tabs...and you instantly see it on that same page through their simulator..don't know how they managed to do that but it is super handy...I am super excited at the moment..time to get some apps on apple and play store
Everyone over at our forum (green rom project) is having trouble making a forum app. We like how the tapatalk app works and want something similar. Does anyone know how to make one? Since we are still in the infancy stages as far as a forum goes (we're still getting things together) we can't really afford to have tapa talk make the app for us. Can someone help?
Why make a forum app. You should be able to enable Tapatalk for your forum then everyone just has to buy the Tapatalk app.

We want to make available a free app much like the xda forum app free version. Yea, I realize you can buy it from market. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Galaxy's might be rude, but Daniel's isn't. Just his opinion. You don't have to agree with it.

I'd say it's the other way around. A rude opinion is still rude (and it doesn't belong here). The other could be passed off as having a low reading level. However they're both rude and neither belong. I shouldn't have to be saying anything at all, especially something off topic like this.

Katt never said that you said that insulting someone's religion isn't rude. You must be reading in between the lines to say that. So I can read between then lines as well and say that simply calling a rude comment an opinion is claiming that insulting someone's religion isn't rude. Inference backfire?

your argument was that a statement isn't rude because it's an opinion, which is pretty silly in itself. But more to the point, "whether you agree with it or not" does not mean "even though you don't agree with it". it was a very broad statement, a general fact that you narrowed down into a meaning that was not actually there.
and really, how is calling a belief system a mass delusion not offensive? It's only not offensive to people not part of that religion. I could tick off most of xda if I called atheism delusional.
Sent from outside your window...
Mass delusion? What because you are too deluded to think that their is nothing beyond this life. Maybe up believe I in a higher power? If so then who is to say the higher power isn't the one spoken of in the bible. If you have a hard time understanding what is easy to understand if you open your mind and stop deluding yourself.
If you think this is it, then I feel very sorry for you.

Petition link is at the bottom of this post.
There was some discussion by Russ77 about starting a petition over in the bounty thread, so I went ahead and made one.
You may think this is a long shot or even a foolish attempt, but the bottom line is it could work. The likeliness of this working goes up with every signature. If you are reading this- SIGN! If this really picks up we may be able to change Verizon's policy all together! It takes maybe 3 seconds to sign so lets get this thing moving!
How Can You Help?
1. Sign the petition
2. Get Social- tweet it, facebook it, anything to spread awareness
3. Share this on other forums and websites
Remember, signing this is great but signing and sharing is even better.
Current Goal: 5,000

An unlocked bootloader would allow us to compile and install AOSP based ROMs. These could be "rooted" by default like cyanogenmod or aokp.
