Mobile ODIN operation always ends with everroot after that it reboots before wiping data/cache/dalvik cache.
I used this on first time when upgrading my tab from ICS to JB, mobile odin did not wipe and did not perform everroot. Fortunately, there are no bootloops.
Because I was curious why is this happening, I tried again by downgrading back to ICS. It flashes all partitions except data, it ends with everroot and reboot (skipping wipe). The flashing process ends with samsung logo bootloop. Fortunately, I still can go to recovery mode to wipe user data. After rebooting to ICS, neither SuperSU nor Mobile ODIN was found in app drawer. And root is lost.
Is there anyone know why is this happening?
UPDATE :
Now the wipe is now working, I think sometimes it doesn't work. However EverRoot DOES NOT work at all! Opening SuperSU and it can't install the binary.
Software :
Mobile ODIN Pro v3.65
Mobile ODIN Flash kernel APK (eu.chainfire.mobileodin.flashkernel.p6200.v2)
Android 4.1.2 (P6200XXMD6/P6200XXMC3/P6200OLBMD5)

I Think it may want you to flash the same firmware again. That may be the reason. Like sometimes we may want reflash the same firmware, we need not root again.

I have retried re-flashing ICS (4.1.2 to 4.0.4), I chose all partitions flashed except data, I enabled EverRoot, wipe data and cache, wipe dalvik cache.
Flashing successful but ends in Samsung logo bootloop, I tried to wipe data in recovery, and tab could boot successfully but it was unrooted.
So I can say that flashing using Mobile ODIN Pro (v3.65) on Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus GT-P6200 cannot wipe data and cache (wipinh dalvik cache seems still working) and cannot inject root (EverRoot)

I wonder how does EverRoot and wipe data actually works and why it doesn't work on all devices. Is anyone know ?

I've been tinkering with androids for well over a year now and have rooted unlocked and s-off'ed amongst other things many different devices. For some reason I'm having trouble flashing kernels to my s3. Yes I'm unlocked and yes I'm flashing aosp kernels to aosp roms and touchwiz kernels to touchwiz roms. The problem seems most persistent on aosp roms and yes I've also checked that they both had the same cm10 commits. The only kernel I could get to boot was clean kernel on beans custom. Other than that no other kernels will work. The device will boot then the screen will start glitching up and then eventually bootloop. I've also made sure to wipe dalvik and cache plus fix permissions. I've also tried just flashing the kernel after doing a full wipe and starting with a new rom and have root 66ed back to stock and re unlocked. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm getting frustrated as I love custom kernels. Oh and the latest combo I tried was liquid smooth rc3 and lean kernel 1.0. Thanks guys.

did you try wiping cach, davik cach, and fix permissions AFTER flashing then reboot?
Ofc wipe cach and dalvik cache before also.
My usual process goes something like this
*Wipe Cache
*Wipe Dalvik
*Flash Kernel
*Wipe Cache & Dalvik again
*Fix Permissions
Works like a charm every time.
Samsung Galaxy S3
i have had the same trouble once...fixed it by flashing back to a stock kernel first.
try this:
wipe cache & dalvik
flash stock kernel.zip- http://db.tt/ceeDTAfz
flash custom kernel
reboot
Is that the stock cm10 kernel or touchwiz? Also yes I've tried wiping before and after and fixing permissions. So weird and its driving me nuts. I miss having awesome battery life

Tried flashing the stock kernel still same thing. It's so weird. It will begin to boot and then boot animation will start flickering or flashing then glitch up. With every kernel it's the same result.

another thing you might try is formatting system in cwm.

I've tried that a few times when doing a fresh rom install. I mean root66ing through odin should completely wipe everything. I just don't see what I'm missing. I've even tried using a different recovery and still the same. Could it just be something specific to my phone? I'm so freaking stumped!!

now when you odin back to stock, your booting into stock recovery after flashing the rom(root66) and doing a data wipe/factory reset correct? you said full wipe, but just want to be clear. it may be corrupted internal memory and might need to be reformatted.
I actually don't think I was wiping after I used Odin. I'll try that as soon as I get home. Though I have done plenty of factory data resets and system wipes, just not right after I odined. And you mentioned formatting how would I go about doing that?

follow section 6 of my guide...link in sig!
Always perform a full/mega wipe as:
1) Wipe data/factory reset
2) Wipe cache partition
3) Wipe dalvik cache
4) In mounts/storage section wipe /system
5) wipe /data
6) wipe /cache
7) wipe /preload
Then flash new ROM.
For flashing a kernel, please perform steps 2 and 3.
Hi,
I have problem with my P6200(without IR).When I flash any ICS/JB rom my tab is not booting.HC roms work fine.Today I try CM10.1.I flash aorth's CWM 6.0.2.7,in that,I wipe data and now I flash cm10.1.After reboot its stuck on Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus logo.I try reflash it again without wipig but its still stuck. When I try stock 4.0.4 rom its bootlooping Galaxy tab logo.Is there any chance to get these roms work?
Well I sorta had the same issue. So here is what I did. Go back to HC then to ICS if it boot loops go into recovery and wipe data factory reset and it should boot up. After that root and flash cm 10 it should work if it boot loops, wipe data factory reset. But it should work. Then after that install latest CWM recovery and then flash cm10.1
Well this is what worked for me I hope it does for u too

Same thing happen to me i never wipe with factory recovery but unfortunate emmc brick bug still exist on stock ics rom
try to downgrade to HC and install CWM via ODIN
Aorth's ClockWorkMod 6.0.2.7 (Odin Format) (All Devices)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112667
try to wipe start from there and check if you have emmc brick bug
Downgrade to HC, go to STOCK RECOVERY, then wipe data n cache..it will giv you really2 clean wipe..dont worry, no emmc bugs on HC..i already tried many times..

Thanks, now I'm on stock ICS 4.0.4 rom.I flashed stock HC, wipe data in stock recovery, rebooted to system and I flashed stock ICS.It works fine. But I want upgrade to CM10.1 I must do this?:
1. Flash aorth's CWM 6.0.2.7
2. Wipe data and flash CM10
3.Wipe data and flash CM10.1
hello. i installed android 4.2.2 via odin and i didn't wipe data/cache partition before upgrade. after a while i did a factory reset from settings and after that i wiped data partition from recovery. after that i tried to wipe cache partition also from recovery but an error appeared and the phone restarted.
So my question is: why when i try to wipe cache partition from recovery i have that error? if i use any aplication to wipe cache when the phone is booted to android there is no problem. also the cache can be cleared with no problem from settings/storage. The error came up only from recovery.
Thanks.
You are using stock recovery?
I tried wiping cache. But I didn't notice error. And yes it also rebooted itself, which I didn't ask it to. But my cache was cleared

Yes,i am using stock recovery. Well i did not try to wipe cache on 4.1.2, just on 4.2.2, so i do not know if on 4.1.2 is doing the same. Do you have 4.1.2 or 4.2.2? I also read that s4 users have the same error while wiping cache partition after updating their android. Could another flash solve the problem?

actually if it does the work, it doesn't really matter if it reboots itself after wiping cache, after all you only need it to wipe your cache, so if it does the job, then why let the problem bother you

agree with you, but how do i know if the cache is cleared if i have that error?
Go to settings. Storage.
There should be a column saying:
Cached data.
If it's a lot, then it's not cleaned

now its 60mb, but several days passed from the time i tried to wipe cache partition. yesterday i received a notification for a software update. it was 4.2.2 I9105PXXUBMI1, which replaced the one that i flashed with odin I9105PXXUBMG8. when i will have time i will try again to wipe cahe from recovery, maybe the problem is fixed with this new firmware.anyway, the phone is working oustanding the way it is. thanks for the answers.:good:
I have a p3113, which after flashing a Rom became 3110. Which still worked fine. But I tried installing FastDream 4.2.2 which was a down grade from 4.3 Pac Rom. Now I'm stuck at Samsung logo, with no back up. I also can't mount sd through recovery, and my external sdcard is not detected by my computer.
Would anyone be able to tell me what my options are for fixing this?

wipe data factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvic cache in recovery and it will boot.
That didn't work, however I did get this issue fixed by putting it in download mode and flashed stock via odin. Then realized-rooted

can i have the link to the stock firmware you used? ive been having trouble with my tab 2 as well, in boot loop which I assume is soft-bricked. I already have ODIN, but I cant seem to get the right stock to use. help pleasee:crying:
So I flashed a custom ROM and did the usual steps. Install, wipe caches, etc., and the ROM itself loads. It's a custom 4.4.2 ROM for GT-P31XX and I used CWM 6.0.4.5 recovery to flash it. Problem is that when I boot, I get to the lock screen but System UI, Settings, and AOSP Keyboard always fail. I can't seem to boot into recovery any more but I want to install a different ROM or reinstall stock JB and start over. How would I go about fixing this situation?
Okay, I can boot into recovery actually.

Did you wipe everything first then install? Because you want to wipe, install, boot. Cache, dalvik, data, system are the main ones, always wipe these when flashing a new ROM.
