Does anyone have any ideas on how i can figure out exactly what occurs when you disable the storage card encryption? I would like to disable it on the fly without a hard reboot of my device. I notice if i disable it in settings and click ok it decrypts right then. If i change the reg key i would have to reboot device. Any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks

Okay I'm pretty much a nub and I admit it. This may or may be the right place to ask but hopefully it is. I used to have encyption forced on to my device from work. Now I don't. I am supposed to be able to go to:
Click Start > Settings System tab, and then click Encryption.
Thing is that it is not there so I cannot decrypt my storage card.
I am running NRG's rom.
Is there some exe someplace, a registry key to turn it on or off, or a cab I can install to put the encrypt sd onto my phone?
I searched around the forums but I didn't find it so I either looked with wrong search words or it isn't here.
Somone please help. I want to move iformation on my SD to my desktop and it won't decrypt.
I left my Lenovo TPT unattended for two days on.
When I've tried to use it again I got a message that encryption did not end correctly to make a reset to original values.
This was strange and because recovery was not working I did tried that step as well without success.
Due to low battery, I manage to access settings and came to realize that there are strange certificates install like TURKTRUST Digital Certificate which I came to realize is reported to be a virus http://eromang.zataz.com/2013/01/04/...ctive-attacks/
In recovery I see that I cannot mount the internal SD or data. I can connect trough ADB but I'm not an expert able to use it properlly.
Any ideas on how to recover my TPT?
Using adb I manage to get the logcat ...hope someone is expert enough to go around this problem.
I only need to format / mount SDCard and data which is blocked now ...
Thanks in anticipation.
Did encryption of sd card disabled my phone encryption? After reboot I don't have to use encryption pin on my phone anymore? Can someone explain? Thanks.

Your phone is still encrypted. There is no option to decrypt internal storage. Some functions (like accessibility/service) disable secure startup. To enable pin entry on device boot, go to settings -> lock screen and security -> secure startup
Thanks man.?
hello, whe i go to system it says that my storage is encrypted! i hav never done any encryption but it shows its enabled, i really want o disable it, please how can i do it??
anyvideas how to remove it..?
My phone running on RRos 8.6.0 and I forgot the Pattern so from twrp I deleted the
"locksetting.db"
(My device didn't have any files named as the key for to deleted)
and from users I deleted
"setting_fingerprint.xml"
"setting_face.xml"
and booted to system
and now my it is stuck on "phone is starting"
Touch is working fine and I am able to access notification panel and turn on and off the tiles and go into settings.
I even added a new Pattern so that the deleted file gets created but then when I went to add fingerprint the sensor is not working as in its not reading.
also in apps(from settings) there is no option for "open". There's only clear cache and clear storage.
also I tried wiping dalvik art cache.
also device wont show on pc for transferring data while in twrp or even when phone is booted and I choose File transfer from notification.
What shall I do ?
Thankyou
Happened to me the same way, then I install stock rom and everything works fine.
Hi,
Same problems and same exact cause. Installing stock rom did not solve it.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Did you find any solutions?
The only solution was to format Data partition (including storage) and lose everything in the process, sadly.
If I remember correctly I was able to copy stuff from data partition to external USB via Recovery mode. But this was long ago, don't remember all the details... Just that I had to delete the data partition.
