get a file system manager like ASTRO File Manager, from there navigate to the file, and hit install when you select the .apk file
Thank You So Cal. Been looking for this.
Is there any way to set this as the default "gallery". As in when i hit the pictures in the lower right corner when im using the camera, that it will open this gallery view instead?

I don't think so...unfortunately.
If using this gallery...make sure you set your videos to be saved on your SDCard because if you dont they go to your internal phone memory and this Gallery wont be able to see them.
Thank you sir. I didn't even know a multi touch version was out of gallery.
Much obliged.

Does anyone else gallery app not read the internal memory folders like DCIM>100Media where the cameras default pic folder saves to? I know I can change the camera app to save on sd but I'd rather have it read the internal memory if possible.
Using Droid Incredible, this works fine for me viewing picture albums. However it force closes whenever I hit the camera button.
Getting a download error. Is the file okay?

Same here, though I never even tried the camera button until I saw your post. Not sure I would use it normally.

Thanks I'll update the OP and give you credit!
What are the differences between the stock/sense gallery and this multi touch gallery?
I sent my self an email with an attached zip file so I can download in my phone. In gmail app I cant download it. It only gives me the option to preview and when I click it it gives me an error.
What can I do??
I worked around it by setting up the mail app and downloading from there. Its a pain in the but that one cant download attachments directly from gmail app.
You can save .zip's with Astro file manager or AttachSave on the gmail app.
blackmoon save attachment works great.
APKatcher was made for that

It look like a security issue, it says that zip files are not safe and don't let me open it or download...
I have an N915F with NK5 base and recently I noticed that my "Downloads" icon s missing from app drawer.
I checked in installed apps and is there (Enabled).
When I download a file, I see the download running in the top bar but when I click on the download it opens My Files instead of downloads and I cannot stop or pause the download.
Did anyone experienced the same? Is there any solution to get back the Downloads?
Thank you.

The last time this happened to me the downloads icon was tucked away inside of a folder in the app drawer.
Even if the icon it was hidden somewhere and I cannot see it, when I download a file, I should be able to see my downloads in the download manager instead opening directly My Files.
I am also missing the Downloads app. is this normal?
I cannot find the apk even in the stock ROM.
In the mean time I solve it by flushing the attached .zip.
I know that is from a 4.3 ROM, but it temporarily solved my problem.
If you find a 4.4.4 apk, please share it here.
Good luck.

You can easily resume download in uc browser even when its link has been expired. To do that these are some simple steps
For example you are downloading test.mp4 and your download has been stucked.
1. Go to sdcard/ucdownloads using file manager
2. There you will find two files test.mp4 and test.mp4.dltemp
3. Cut and paste both of them in another folder for eg. You pasted it in Backup folder(remember its cut and paste, not copy and paste)
4. Open Uc browser, open downloads and delete test.mp4 from the download list.
5. Now start new download of same file and pause it then close the browser.
6. Open file manager and cut paste test.mp4 and test.mp4.dltemp in Ucdownloads from your backup folder. It will prompt you to overwrite or skip, choose overwrite.
Now go to uc browser and resume your download it will resume.
Enjoy
Unfortunately i deleted the file
I tried ur method on another file & happy to see that ur method works
