Hello.
These are a few Huawei EmotionUI apps - the launcher, a nice weather-themed live wallpaper, weather and also a couple others. I figured I'd upload them because they're tricky to find out in the wild, especially since most Huawei ROMs are locked down into a hard-to-extract '.app' file. If you'd like any other Huawei things to be uploaded, just PM me and I'll see what I can do. :good:
EmotionUI Launcher:
The launcher is super smooth and opens apps blazing fast, on par if not faster than the likes of launchers like Nova and Apex. But, it's not really great in the way of customization... like, at all, unfortunately. You can change the wallpaper, move around apps, add widgets, and change screen transitions. That's about it. Also, in a rather iOS-like way, there's no app drawer, all your apps are on your homescreen.
Features -
- EXTREMELY smooth and fast
- Custom transitions: normal, perspective, windmill, squeeze, box, flip over, rotate, page, and cylinder. Page has wallpaper problems on my Nexus 4, not sure if it'll be a problem for you. Apart from perspective and flip over (which are both really nice), they're pretty run-of-the-mill transition effects found on most other launchers.
- Icon background shadow effect
- Up to 9 homescreens
- Custom widget selection interface (similar to HTC Sense)
- Notification counters on icons
- Folder support

Tablet Version (NOTE: I haven't tested this one, because I don't have a tablet. So I'm not sure if it works.): https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3lIkuqWWrmqMGJCNkF6UFdmcWM/edit?usp=sharing
Ascend Mate Version (NOTE: This version is for the massive Ascend Mate that has a 6.1 inch screen so it should resolve most people's complaints about the 4x4 icons being too big for their devices. Unfortunately, it kept force closing on my Nexus 4 so I wasn't able to test it. Thanks to MP2005 for providing the apk!): https://www.dropbox.com/s/7py0r1z535bl7hr/HwLauncher6.apk
Here's a picture of the launcher along with MeWidget:
Weather Live Wallpaper:
This is a really great live wallpaper, it's light on the processor and looks gorgeous. There's an option to synchronize with Huawei's weather app so install that too if you want that feature.
Features -
- Very Smooth
- Choose between the following weather conditions: sunny, mostly cloudy, cloudy, fog, showers, thunderstorms, rain, snow, windy, hot, cold, clear night skies.
- Synchronizes with the weather app to display current weather conditions

Weather App:
Thanks a lot to idhbar for posting this app. :good:
This is a superb weather app with gorgeous background animations like HTC Sense. It also includes the weather clock widget but it doesn't seem to work; probably the same problem that the MeWidget has. High-resolution screens might suffer from no-so-great pixelated visuals.
Features -
- Smooth
- Animated weather background
- Multiple location support and add/remove locations
- Auto-locate weather support
- Direct link to Accuweather.com
- Displays current temperature, high/low for the day, and also a 4-day forecast
- Synchronizes with the weather live wallpaper to display current weather conditions

And some pictures:
MeWidget (NOTE: might not work!):
This widget is supposed to only work with the Huawei EmotionUI launcher, but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. I figured I'd post it and maybe someone could figure out a way to get it working. I tried pushing it to system/app and fixing permissions but no luck. It's essentially a widget that lets you mix a variety of widgets into one - album pictures, a music player, a clock, the weather, things like that. It's really nice, and it's a shame it doesn't work correctly even if I try it on the launcher itself. It can be installed without pushing to system/app, but'll just display 'problem loading widget'. For me, anyway.

ALSO: If you want more Huawei apps, check out this post by Team Android:
http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/04/29/huawei-apps-android-phone-download/
They successfully ported the following apps from the Huawei P1:
- File Manager
- Huawei Cloud (16GB free storage)
- Camera
- Music
- Keyboard
- Wallpaper Chooser
- Sound Recorder (replaces system app)
- DLNA app
I didn't test all of these, so I can't say they all work. I tried the Camera, Music, and Keyboard, and only the camera worked, the other two crashed. But you might as well give it a go, right?
AND ALSO: If you'd like to try more apps (or if the ones above might not have worked for you), check out my friend GalaxyUser's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42359563
He successfully ported the following apps:
- Launcher
- Camera
- Gallery
- DLNA
- File Manager
- Notes
- Music
- Profiles
- Weather
- Wallpaper
- Weather Live Wallpaper
- Keyboard
- Security Guard
- Handwriting App
Hope you guys like!

I tried getting themes to work but they won't apply, it says it works but nothing in the launcher changes. If you'd like, I can post the huaweithemes.apk and also the themes that come pre-installed to see if you could figure it out. I haven't tested it much, I might need to set the Themes app as a system app or something. I'll experiment more later today.

Yeah I don't know why the MeWidget doesn't work. And I agree, haha, the icons are MASSIVE, it's better suited for a smaller phone because it was ported from the Huawei Honor 2 (4.5 inch screen).
It's version 1.6 of EmotionUI; if I'm not mistaken that's the latest version. :good:

MIUI Themes are specific to MIUI and will not work on other ROMS. HERE is a good place to start. Verify within each thread if the theme is gingerbread ready/compliant.
Some MIUI Users choose to use alternate launchers such as ADW or Launcher Pro. Themes for those and other launchers are applicable for use in MIUI only when used with the corresponding launcher.

Apps - 1st Edition
A few apps that I use a lot that others might enjoy. MrGarak and I are going to attempt a regular post such as this one.
When viewing from your computer, simply scan the QR CODE image with your phone using Barcode Scanner (or like app) - choose to open in browser and it will take you directly to the app within Android Market. As with most pay apps there are free trial versions. Simply choose "View More Applications" near the bottom and it will show you other versions (trial version) and other apps by that developer.
1. PlayerPro
While there are many music playing apps on the Android Market - this is currently my preferred one. The interface is superb and it's accuracy with downloading artwork for not only songs but also for the artists themselves is amazingly accurate.
Sound quality is great as well (don't forget turboniumX's audio fix from OP) and it also has custom quality sounds/eq that you can save as profiles to use at any time.
Optionally using PlayerPro as your lockscreen music player is also an impressive look and integrates nicely.

2. Poynt
This is along the lines of many - Where to see a movie. Where to eat. What events are near me, etc. But, Poynt also has a very handy added feature in today's times of where to buy petrol (gasoline). Using your location it will display gas prices at nearby stations.
You can also search for People, phone numbers etc --- as well as businesses. And this is all in one application.
3. Sleep Now
In essence it's a "sound soother". Go to sleep listening to the relaxing sounds of ocean waves, a gentle thunderstorm - or if you sleep well on trains it has that one as well as many others.
Other key conveniences are for "power naps". Place your headphones on and take a quick nap listening to a soothing sound and at the end of the timer you set - the alarm will sound to wake you up.
There are many other features for this app.
4. Plume Premium
For those of you that are Twitter freaks - this is the best app out there in my opinion. The interface is nice. It has great widgets. And it is very intuitive for following trends, etc. To begin - at least give the free version a shot.
A great addition to your Twitter follow list would be miuidev - It will keep you updated with latest changes, bug fixes and releases. Which you would of course see in builds here and in MrGarak's thread.
5. XDA Premium
If you're not already using this - or it's free version - you should be.
Enough said.

Theme: Android 3.0 which can be found in Theme Manager - Online Themes
Lock Screen is stock using MIUI Music - Double Tap the unlock bar to enable music controls
WP Clock live wallpaper available in Market or scan QR code below to be taken directly to it.
Theme
The name of this theme is written in Chinese but can easily be found in Theme Manager - Online - Latest
Simply look for the picture below.
I like this theme a lot as it's updated and gingerbread ready. It's clean and simple with nice icons. It also adds some nice colored icons to sub menus that make things easier to see and choose from.
Give it a try if you would like. Lock screen image below.
Mimimal warm theme
This theme is called "Minimal Warm" and the thread for it in miui-dev theme forum can be found HERE
It is still in development but is a very nice theme. A few things I have noticed are some missing icons that appear blank in your dock - like the one for Phone and Browser. This is easily fixed by removing them and adding them back.
The signal strength indicators in notification bar take some getting used to - but they're unique and very fresh compared to the same'old same'old.
Different Launchers
One of the things you hear from people who try MIUI for the first time is the iPhone feel to it; some like it, some don't. I thought I'd show how moving to a different launcher can change the look to more like what you are used to seeing.
This is pretty much how it looks when you first load up MIUI, with the MIUI clock and the Chinese gone from the tool folder. You don't have an app drawer, just a ton of home screens. You can always create folders to organize your apps, just like the iPhone; unlike the iPhone, you can put an app in more than one folder.
This is Launcherpro with the MIUI Weather widget on it. More like what you are used to seeing; other launchers like ADW or Go Launchers will work too.
Some of us use SPB Shell; it's a bit expensive, and in need of a few tweaks, but it's pretty cool. You really notice the coolness when you hit the home button and you can rotate all of the screens around.
If you don't like the look of MIUI at first, start playing with themes and/or load up a launcher; the customizations are endless.
Smitty hit it dead on. If you like an iOs look then you have it and you have it in spades. Highly customizable in many ways than can be explained.
Example: Let's say you like the icons of one theme - the boot screen of another screen - the text font of another theme - and the lock screen of yet another. Well -- you can have it your way. It's like Burger King, but without all the fat grams and scary employees.
In any other case you can use a launcher of your choice and have that look.
I would create the QR codes for all the different launchers, but I'm lazy at the moment and unless you just bought your phone an hour ago and have never heard of ADW - ADW-EX - Launcher Pro - Go Launcher - Wave Launcher - Zeam (no longer supported but still works great) - SPB Shell 3D (as shown above by Smitty) ---- each with their own laundry list of themes and customizations.
Speaking of themes
Here are some more MIUI Themes from miui-dev forum that I have tested.
Have fun.
AEOLUS HD
Ultimate iPhone Theme
arc.2.2.4.2 It's an enhanced stock miui theme with loads of extras
Gingerbread Glowbusters
In case you're wondering: Yes some themes don't have customized lock screens so they're defaulted. You can edit the lock screen in Theme Manager. Follow the links and there are additional pictures of each theme on its devs thread.

Thinking of switching to miui, and love these screenies, but I have a few questions.
What framework is this?
The green bar at the top is battery percentage?
Also maybe a dumb question but miui themes do not change the framework right? Like you have to do it separately?

The main alternate one I use is ADW -- there's a paid version as well ADW-EX - but the free one is highly customizable.
ADW is what comes with a lot of roms including CM7
Edit: Launcher Pro is also a great one and the first launcher I downloaded when I first rooted my Galaxy S - and on my Dell Streak.
Oh, let me check it out. I just got GO launcher, not bad.
Hello, everybody. This is my second modification (still trying to recreate HTCs' masterpiece).
But this time it's animated.
This widget is actually a mix of two: Animated Flip Clock beta (flip clock on the top) and FancySense (weather on the bottom).
All screen sizes are supported

Since FancySense is the part of the widget, you'll also have 1x1, 2x1, 4x3 and 4x4 Sense 4 weather widgets:
Downloads:
Flip Clock.apk
Flip Weather.apk with Celsius indicators
Flip Weather.apk with Fahrenheit indicators

Setting up the widget:
Basic install:
1) Install both clock and weather apk's
2) Watch the video or read the instructions on how to combine them on your desktop
If you can't/don't want to watch the video - here is what you need to do:
- Place Sense Flip Clock on your desktop and drag it to the top.
- Place Sense Flip Weather on your desktop, stretch it to 4x4 size, grab the grip on the bottom and squeeze it to 4x2 so that Flip Weather will completely overlap Flip Clock
Click to collapse
Advanced install:
1) Follow basic installation guide
2) If you want different clockskins and/or weather skin in high definition - download and unzip FancySense_stuff. You will find 3 folders there - Android, ClockSkins and WidgetLocker backgrounds. Copy the Android folder to your SD card and confirm overwriting
3) To get thin font on weather widgets, you need to flash this zip via CWM. This will replace DroidSansMono.ttf in /system/fonts folder. To undo this change flash this.
Click to collapse
Note that you will need a launcher that supports widget overlapping. Those are: Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher, ssLauncher, ADW Launcher EX, LauncherPro Plus and Holo Launcher Plus (please tell me if there are more of them). Or, alternatively, you can use this wonderful app called Widget Maker to combine both widgets on any launcher.
If the clock is a little deformed - just wait. When it flips, everything will become normal.
BTW, if everything is working just the way you expected don't hesitate to click 'Thanks'
I'm expecting it!!
Nice
Patiently waiting for galaxy s2 version.... :good:
Will give it a try, I'm on stock 2.3.6 Atrix 4g, using holo launcher plus, which allows for widgets overlapping (os so it says in the description)
Here comes the first update:

- better looking clock for HDPI

This is how it looks on NOVA, kinda weird looking and a bit blurry as well on the clock
EDIT: It's nice to find a working flip clock but I guess it's impossible to completely replicate the one from sense? Like how when you wake your phone up, the clock goes through that animation where both sides of the time are flipping for like a second or two and lands on the correct time.
I'm not sure what it was but something weird installed when I first opened up the flip clock.. its not some crazy malware/virus is it?

Okay, if you are using Nova you need to go to its settings and (from this point I can't be sure since I've never seen English version of Nova) set horizontal margin to none and vertical to large. And use 4x4 launcher configuration as I design everything to fit in it.
As for the clock, yes, it's kinda blurry. But I guess that it will be hard for the phone to provide you HD graphics.
Oh, and about that crazy malware thing. Have you seen something in the notification bar? It was, well, notification, about Flip Clock widget creating pictures.

That's funny as I've deleted Russian translations from the resources. But anyway, versions with purest English language are now in the OP (that's how you call the fisrt post?=))
Is something wrong with it?

Great job on the overall app/theme though its lovely
Another update - added clock and weather layout for 480x854 screen sizes.
Sevastopol, can you make clock bigger? I think its too small. See the screenshot.
And it have 2 clockes in lanscape mode.
I'm using Apex launcher and when i try resize the blue frame that indicates the resizing automatically comes back below the clock.
Are there any special configuration in Apex to allow overlapping of the widgets while resizing?

Awesome, I'm using nova and GT same time. However, I can see GT will become be my default one.
Giving this a go now. Cheers
Woo hoo, first post too.
I get the 'sorry, launcher problems, we will fix soon' toasts, and it changes my background into a picture not big enough, so it has black lines on the sides.
I thought this was supposed to be stable?

Wow bro this is a very good launcher!
Nice speed and memory management, its like a fusion of Go launcher with Nova.
Keep up the good work
I have a little sugestion:
-An option to changue the velocity of animations, that would be awesome
-Can use all the screen for widgets and apps
-The quick settings are awesome, improve more -changue icon size and have the abilty to put widgets over other widgets, if ypu know what i mean
Sorry for my bad english
This gonna be my favorite launcher in the future

I use nova prime, from my experience its one of the best.
I installed your launcher and I must say, it sure has potential.
He has some good suggestions.
-Be able to stack widgets on top of each other or even dock (see nova).
-Able to resize widgets better (see nova)
-Gesture to hide dock
-Gesture app drawer (besides 2 fingers down)
-Creating folders in app drawer is a great idea however the apps put into folders are still part of the regular drawer. (In other words theres two of the same app, one in folder within drawer another in drawer)
-More scroll effects (apart from the usuals found elsewhere)
-Auto rotate home and app drawer
Some things that I like about your launcher are
* Gestures for shortcuts or apps. Awesome
* Different foldder backgrounds
* Hide folder names
* Smooth
I'll use it more to see what else I can suggest.

I see potential in your work but I think, isnt a good idea to mention others launchers in the title.
ok...I have installed it, seems to be a nice job, but needs some upgradings. I like it, but after i have modified the grid size, nr of rows and columns, the launcher never gets back... i have a blanck screen, with no app drawer, no screens to scroll...everythings gone. still testing! thank you anyway!
Testing your launcher. Not bad so far
Little laggy. And 240 ppi htc glacier . on nexus 4 works good
Just downloaded, must say, very impressive. Loving this so far (Used Nova launcher most of the time) Fully transparent weather would be a plus for me (Love having weather/time on there, but don't like having something blocking parts of my wallpaper! lol) But overall, Loving this.. Can't wait for more! (Thanks Naddict for the plug in MoAR!)
I installed this on my xperia x10, but sorry to say there is ALOT of work to be done.. nova or apex or adw have far more features than this launcher. Also it is not even near of being as fast as the launchers previously mentioned.. there are alot of bugs and its slow..
But still, well done, and i hope this launcher improves in later updates:thumbup:

It's pretty nice - love the default widgets. But at current stage it lacks many features that Nova and Apex have. It's also a bit laggy.
There's big potential in this launcher if you put some more work into it.
Waiting for new versions and features, and hope that some day it become new main launcher on my phone
good luck
Nice. But to laggy..

Hello guys,
I want to present you one app that I created little time ago, Music Widget for Walkman that can be installed on any launcher unlike the stock one.
And unlike the stock one this is quite simple and it's in holo style that fits almost every launcher.
At the top-right corner it has shortcut to one other app of mine for Walkman, the Lyrics Music Extension which you can also install from the Play Store.

Since the app was meant for non-stock launchers I decided holo style would be better option, because if you want xperia style you would use stock launcher and stock widget. But since many guys request similar stuff I will aim to add more themes including the Z style..
thanks
thanks for this app widget sir

Great! I really miss that walkman widget when i'm using my stock launcher. Mostly these days that i've already fixed my ported walkman player. I don't want to use xperia launcher all the time. Thanks again!
Hey, can you upload at the OP your widget app? I'm having problems with playstore atm, i've format my phone and i don't have a backup of your app.
something is not right.
After ulocking the phone, the widget playback buttons are not working. To re-enable the buttons, I just press your lyric icon or the album art. Im on cm10 btw. Still a great app though! Thanks.

Nice! Already downloaded it, but I'll be able to try this later, it's about 3am here, and I'm about to sleep. Anyway, thanks for your efforts, and I've manage to come up with a workaround with your previous version, via ignoring the widget when using cleanup app, that tends to disable the app. I've also switched to Trebuchet launcher 1.0. I just noticed that some widgets are having issues with trebuchet 0.2, mostly preventing the widget from functioning, like Chronus. (i'm on cm10, btw). I'll give you feedback again later once I've tried this updated app of yours. Thank you so much!
Great work thanks I'm using it on widgetlocker, so can be there option to hide it automatically when the music stops and shows again when the music start?

Great update!
Nice update Buzzymind! Just the way I wanted. Hehehe! Just a little more improvements on the UI, move the xperia buttons a bit higher, and the highlight hover when pressed, should be also like the buttons. (xperia buttons but the hover is still rectangular. ). But still a must have app. Can't wait for the next update. ^_^
Nice job!
Yeah, good update!
Hope you could also update this thread man. I suggest to add drop shadows at the buttons, to make it much noticeable on light colored backgrounds. I have a modded app of yours (for personal use) that has shadows and it looks much better.

Nice update. I have been using this on my Nexus 4 without a hitch. With the latest update I was getting a launcher force close when adding the widget, but clearing cache and data has fixed that. However, the widget drawer does not show previews of the widgets. It didn't do that with previous versions. When long pressing, the preview does pop up and the widget adds. It is a minor annoyance, but at least it works. Also, I do have a request. When choosing text color with the color picker, I would love to see the ability to pick precise colors by entering color hex codes. It would also be nice if we could choose the color of the buttons. This widget is very close to where I would pay to remove the ads, if that is a future consideration. Thanks for the great work.

Try to clear and reload your dalvik-cache and fix permissions on recovery. That fix the preview and fc issues.

For some reason I remember it appeared in the widgets on the Note 4 even with Nova. But, you can't on the Note 5. However, you can use a 3rd party widget application (like Zooper) and install an S6 Weather widget (which is pretty much the same as the stock Note 5 weather widget). Or you could use UCCW or Zooper and create your own. I was going to do that, but I got lazy and bought one from the play store for $0.99 that works with Zooper Pro.
It you're looking for something similar and clean looking like the stock widget you could run a Brightweather and Timely Combination. Have App Overlay turned on and place Brightweather at the top and then Timely below it and stretch Brightweather over Timely to give make it look as if it's one widget and while keeping it clean.
This is how I had it set up for example. I hope this is a good alternative for you!

Xwidget is also a good alternative, although, I have never been able to get the stock weather app to work with Nova.
chronus widget added one that looks similar. need to download the Chronus GS6 weather icon pack too.
There is a way to do it. Technically, won't be the widget but it will be a zooper that looks just like it. You'll also have to add some transparent icons to open the app whenever you tap the widget. I'll find to how to and post it here
Here you go the zoomed widget that looks like the Samsung weather widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.designedly.zwskin.s6widgets
And this is what the widget looks like.

I actually used Xwidget and I got it to work. There are so many S6 Weather Widgets that are very similar. I tried several and they worked for me on the Note 5.

Do you mean on the Lock screen or the home screen?
you can get the weather widget on the lock screen when Nova is your default launcher. -
All you have to do is setup weather in your touchwiz launcher - once you have a location assigned in the stock home screen weather widget in Touchwiz launcher - the weather will be added to the lock screen regardless of whether you use Touchwiz or Nova - but you have to turn it on in Touchwiz to get it to work on the lock screen after Nova is set as your default launcher.
I also just tried to add "weather widget" on my Nova Home Screen and it works too - I dont know if adding it in Nova will automatically inlcude it on the lock screen or not - but I know if you follow the instructions above, it does work.
Hope that helps.

not sure - but I just tried to replicate the look of the stock widget with Beautiful widgets and I got pretty close to what you are looking for - just need to use the right layout and correct thrme - I threw this one together without trying to match the exact look - with a little searching, I am sure you could find a theme that is even closer to stock look -
