Hello, everybody. This is my second modification (still trying to recreate HTCs' masterpiece).
But this time it's animated.
This widget is actually a mix of two: Animated Flip Clock beta (flip clock on the top) and FancySense (weather on the bottom).
All screen sizes are supported

Since FancySense is the part of the widget, you'll also have 1x1, 2x1, 4x3 and 4x4 Sense 4 weather widgets:
Downloads:
Flip Clock.apk
Flip Weather.apk with Celsius indicators
Flip Weather.apk with Fahrenheit indicators
Flip Weather.apk without indicators

Setting up the widget:
Basic install:
1) Install both clock and weather apk's
2) Watch the video or read the instructions on how to combine them on your desktop
If you can't/don't want to watch the video - here is what you need to do:
- Place Sense Flip Clock on your desktop and drag it to the top.
- Place Sense Flip Weather on your desktop, stretch it to 4x4 size, grab the grip on the bottom and squeeze it to 4x2 so that Flip Weather will completely overlap Flip Clock
Click to collapse
Advanced install:
1) Follow basic installation guide
2) If you want different clockskins and/or weather skin in high definition - download and unzip FancySense_stuff. You will find 3 folders there - Android, ClockSkins and WidgetLocker backgrounds. Copy the Android folder to your SD card and confirm overwriting
3) To get thin font on weather widgets, you need to flash this zip via CWM. This will replace DroidSansMono.ttf in /system/fonts folder. To undo this change flash this.
Click to collapse
Note that you will need a launcher that supports widget overlapping. Those are: Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher, ssLauncher, ADW Launcher EX, LauncherPro Plus and Holo Launcher Plus (please tell me if there are more of them). Or, alternatively, you can use this wonderful app called Widget Maker to combine both widgets on any launcher.
If the clock is a little deformed - just wait. When it flips, everything will become normal.
BTW, if everything is working just the way you expected don't hesitate to click 'Thanks'
I'm expecting it!!
Nice
Patiently waiting for galaxy s2 version.... :good:
Will give it a try, I'm on stock 2.3.6 Atrix 4g, using holo launcher plus, which allows for widgets overlapping (os so it says in the description)
Here comes the first update:
- MDPI and qHD screens are now supported
- better looking clock for HDPI
it does flip, thnx a bunch for this widget, any plan to make the miui v4 version?its flipping clock look sexier
will it work on Samsung Galaxy note?
I guess have to wait for the HD version as I am using a Galaxy S3......looks really nice...cant wait

Well, it's not hard to recreate a clock like this, but I don't know how to make the date at the bottom.

HD versions are already in the 1st post, I'm waiting for your feedback
I really appreciate this - I've been looking for an animated flip clock in sense style for a long time, so I was excited to see this thread.
I have a question though, can you please translate the options that come up when you set up the widgets? not all of us understand Russian...
Again, thank you very much.

I installed those two and placed the android folder from the fance_sense zip to the sd card (not sure what to do with the other two folders).
This is how my screen looks O_O???
Intercrew, which launcher are you using? Is that TouchWiz...?
Anyway, you need to use a launcher that allows resizing of widgets, as said in the OP.

im trying out on nova now, gimmie a sec and ill post pics again
This is how it looks on NOVA, kinda weird looking and a bit blurry as well on the clock
EDIT: It's nice to find a working flip clock but I guess it's impossible to completely replicate the one from sense? Like how when you wake your phone up, the clock goes through that animation where both sides of the time are flipping for like a second or two and lands on the correct time.
I'm not sure what it was but something weird installed when I first opened up the flip clock.. its not some crazy malware/virus is it?
Here's what I get:

Okay, if you are using Nova you need to go to its settings and (from this point I can't be sure since I've never seen English version of Nova) set horizontal margin to none and vertical to large. And use 4x4 launcher configuration as I design everything to fit in it.
As for the clock, yes, it's kinda blurry. But I guess that it will be hard for the phone to provide you HD graphics.
Oh, and about that crazy malware thing. Have you seen something in the notification bar? It was, well, notification, about Flip Clock widget creating pictures.

Great job on the overall app/theme though its lovely
Another update - added clock and weather layout for 480x854 screen sizes.
Sevastopol, can you make clock bigger? I think its too small. See the screenshot.
And it have 2 clockes in lanscape mode.
I'm using Apex launcher and when i try resize the blue frame that indicates the resizing automatically comes back below the clock.
Are there any special configuration in Apex to allow overlapping of the widgets while resizing?

I like it however the calendar widget does not seem to work. Is it suppose to pull the events from the sense calendar or go to it when you click a date? As of right now when I click on a date in the calendar widget it does nothing. How did you get the sense clock to work, or is it something diff (forgot the name of the other one lol).

I might be late to the party but here we go anyway:
HTC Evo: Invisible App Launchers (Ninja Apps)
The Video Tutorial:
The Text / Image Tutorial:
What you will need:
- An HTC Evo (probably works on other phones, but I don't care about other phones)
- A Custom Launcher Program (Launcher Pro & ADW EX are what I have found this to work on)
- A Transparent Icon (You can download this one)
- A Wallpaper With App Images built into it (You can use this one)
The process:
Here we have our main screen...you guys are lucky I just switched to the cm7 RC1 and did a full wipe otherwise you might have had to wait for the apk release.

Basics first, we need to switch to a wallpaper that has App images designed into it...the one I have is really nice but there are others out there. Look.
After that we will switch to the first screen we will be adding our hidden launchers too. On this screen you will long press to bring up the "Add To Home Screen" selector. Select the "Custom Shortcut" and then choose "Pick Your Activity." From the next screen you choose what kind of Activity you want, an Application, Music Playlist, etc...After making your selection. Choose ok and your launching icon will be added.
Repeat the above step until your icons cover the launching area of your desire. You can go into ADW or Launcher Pro settings and edit the number of columns and rows on the screen. This will help somewhat with making icons cover the icon area from the wallpaper. For mine I left it at 6 rows and 4 columns.
After all your icons in place it is now time to make them transparent...Long press over the icon and in ADW you will select "Edit." press the icon in the edit screen and choose the transparent icon you downloaded earlier in the tutorial. Repeat this process until all of your icons are transparent.
YOU'RE DONE...
Some tidbits and problems you may run into:
- They are kind of invisible but I still see the icon text... You need to go into the settings for your Launcher Program and select "Hide icon Labels."
- I can't get the icons to fit right over the images... This is not an exact process and will requires some trial and error, as well as, tinkering on your part. Some things you can adjust to help this: Adjust your wallpaper to different sizes and display areas, Adjust the amount of columns and rows displayed on your screens.
- Where can I find more wallpapers like this? My best advise is to look on the internet, it's how I cam across it. I do make custom wallpapers, but, they are not free ($1.99) donations.
If you have any more questions please post them and I will address them as timely as I can.
this is awesome thanx
Umm, there's nothing new about this. Lots of people have posted themes that use this method. I've been doing this since last summer. This might be useful as a tutorial on the basic setup of this method. Also, of course it will work on any phone. What is the apk file going to do? Maybe I'm missing something...
great
Wow! I hadn't heard of this before, but i love the idea and the tutorial. THANKS!!! I'm gonna have to scour for more wallpapers. Is there anyway to take the wallpaper you have in a layered version and remove a few of the images and swap in a few of my own?? ex. i would take out the facebook logo and put a cartoon pic of my wife/kids for my quick dial apks. etc... anyway, thanks for the heads up!!

Wouldn't the definition of a donation be giving to a public and/or charitable cause? You aren't offering the wallpapers for free to the community, then allowing people to donate to your cause. If that isn't the case, it sounds like you are charging for a service, not encouraging a donation? Unless you plan on offering the wallpapers to all once the initial request for a custom donation inspired wallpaper is received?

I've been looking also for something like this for quite some time also, as I've been using the blank icons with wallpapers to some extent already, just not all over. Just along the edge like this:
The full setup is attached in the Scrolling 2.0 Theme in my sig which also has links on how to set it up from the original author. I also created some wallpapers other than the honeycomb one. PM me if if you would like to check them out.
Its hard to locate wallpapers with the icons pictures built in as I'm not sure what to search for exactly or what the "official" name of this type of wallpaper/setup is.

I could be wrong about what he's using, but you can achieve the 4 day weather forecast like that with the Beautiful Widget's Beautiful Weather Widget. You just need to download that skin, and then disable todays current weather.
I achieved the same widget look using the Beautiful Weather Widget in the screenshot above. Just changing the skin (the skin you would be looking for to achieve that effect is called BrushedInk&Black), hiding the background, and hiding the current weather. Beautiful Widgets is a paid app, but its worth it for the couple bucks it costs, it looks great and is highly customizable.

Thank you for your feedback.
It uses the 24 hour setting from the system settings: settings / Date & Time / Use 24-hour format.
But I had some inconsistencies with this, so it might be wrong by default. When this setting has never been changed I cannot read a true/false status, but read a "null" value. When this happens I default to the am/pm format. A quick way around this is to go into the settings and tick the 24-hour tickbox and then untick it again.
The inconsistency is that on some phones the "null" defaults to am/pm format and on others to 24-hour format.
Has anyone else experienced this?

That's great.
In order to investigate this inconsistency, could you provide me with some info?
What phone do you have and what Android version (and rom if any) do you have. Could you also tell me if the 24-hour tickbox was enabled by default or not?
Much appreciated.
In order to make it bigger, the animation will get bigger exponentially. This will eat away more memory so I am not 100% sure I can achieve this. I will have a look how far I can stretch it, but with the current size I felt comfortable it will run on most phones.
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play (R800i), with Android 2.3.3, no root and no custom rom, locked bootloader.
Because i am from Germany, and we always use "Military-Time", my 24-hour tickbox was enabled by default.

Great work...works well on my wildfire. It would be great if you make it like htc sense clock.
Awesome !!!
Fantastic job. Works like a dream. Have never seen such smooth transition...
A few suggestions if you can incorporate...
1. Would like the widget to open up alarm application when i click on the widget in home screen. This helps me to set alarm directly instead of opening the clock from apps.
2. Try to make a calendar with day month & year so that even the day, & date can be added as another widget below the time....
Once again, great app

Thanks for your feedback.
I have planned to add some customization in the near future, one of which is the ability to configure an application to launch when you tap on the clock.
The Calendar is a great idea. Though I think it would be better to place it either on the left or right (configurable) of the time in order to keep it a 4x1 widget. Any strong views on this?
I have mocked up a little graphic on how I think it could look:

Dude, the image is nice. However, I would suggest you to make it of the same size like the clock so that it can be added below the clock or maybe give us a choice of selection of size.
This way, if both clock & calendar are different, we can choose two different applications when we tap on these widgets.
Thanks again for your quick response.

I will take this into account. I think I will implement both, but as a different size widget. The idea I have is to have a 4x1 and a 4x2 widget, both where the date is optional. On the 4x1 it will sit on the side and on the 4x2 it will sit beneath.

Some notes:
If you were using stock FancyWidgets, you need to remove it first. If you are updating between my versions you needn't do this in order to save all your settings.
If your widgets looks cropped, try Adaptive layout (in the Interface settings)
There are 9 clock skins (9 skins is the limit of the free version of FancyWidgets) in the Android folder. The rest of the skins is in the ClockSkins folder. FancySense won't allow you to choose more than between 9 skins at a time, so delete ones you don't need from Android/data/fancywidgets/clockskins and put there ones that you like.
Since I signed this app with test signature, you won't be able to use unlocker from Google Play. You can still buy it though to support Android Does.

solved sorry
why does it keep saying Celsius when its really Fahrenheit
Because it's not FancyWidget's native stuff, indicators are part of my modification (and not the part I'm proud of, since it's just plain text).
Anyway, I've added version with Fahrenheit indicators, you can just install it without removing Celsius version, all your settings will be saved
Thank you for this widget
How have the big sun, with the temperature front, I have not succeeded that
Wozil, long tap on your home screen and select FancySense 4x3 or FancySense 4x4
Thank you, and if i want animations, I have to pay "Fancy Widgets Unlocker"?
Awesome! This is really great work. But could you help me with the following: I`d like to use it on my new acer a510 tablet. And when I have it in landscape mode it has not that nice portrait mode style. (Weather is located beside the clock, not under it) Can I force the widget to keep the portrait mode style while using it in the landscape mode?
Kind regards
Sven

Unfortunately, unlocker won't work, because my modification and original app have different signatures

Well, that's kinda tricky. In order to help I need your screen resolution, dpi and number of rows/columns of your launcher.
Okay, let me see.. Screen res is 1280*800, dpi are 149 (is it the same like ppi?) And launcher: 7 rows, 8 columns.. isnt there something like a file where the setup is written down, i`m thinking of a simple flag where you can switch on and off wether it uses only the portrait mode or not..?!?

LOL but all kidding aside, this is great work. Not sure exactly how to install it (just the apk?) and why it requires Fancy Widgets, no clue, but the effort is just great!
Yeah, it's not complicated. Just install apk, then unpack skins and apply any of them.

Testing it right now !! it looks great, but I don't seem to be able to get all the tiles at the same size. The gap between each tiles is not similar if a tile has to be resized.
Great graphic job tough !

Strange, as far as I know I can add the widgets at any size and resize. Have you tried starting the widget in the prescribed size, and have you set margins of the homescreen to zero/none?
Trying it out now. Kinda like the PIE UI I have now, this sucker takes a while to put together just right lol.
Sizing seems fine here for me. In Nova, you HAVE to set the grid to the correct size so that the widgets will fit correctly.
I did see for example the Clock skin, where in the UCCW is labeled, 4x2 where it should be 2x4 for the correct size and can be adjusted accordingly. Most everything else is 2x2 so that's a given.
Green tiles here I come! LOL

Here's mine. Did a little editing with some of the tiles. IE Dont have FB and whatsapp... For some reason the 4.2 camera app doesn't show up on the uccw app list. I just took off the hotspot and put in an invisible icon with the camera app there on the top part of the tile. Workaround win .
Great tiles! Good job and Looks great IMO.

Btw, for the overeager modders amoungst you: the icons are from the Alex T as well. You can download it here. Also, you can shuffle the layout really easy by simply swapping the widgets. And good job on the camera workaround!
PS: it's awesome to see the different countries
Instagram added!
Also just another note in regards to using Nova Launcher or any launcher really....
To get the tiles to fit, other than what is already noted in the second post; is to remove the dock or hide it. To access the apps I use gesture function of two fingers swipe down. Then to turn off the screen I simply swipe up. :good:

You did everything right. There went something wrong with the non square tiles, when changing the filenames. The proper files have been restored (this means that the names are inverted again) Until I've got some more time (busy week) I'll fix the names properly. Nevertheless, functionality is no issue!
