[Q] Aroma installer wont open when i flash eXperiance Lite V2.1 on my xperia u? - General Questions and Answers

I have CWM-Based_Recovery v5.5.0.4 installed on my xperia uand i rooted by xperia phone using Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v30 method. First I do" wipe data factory reset”, then “wipe cache partition” and at last “wipe dalvick cache”.Then i click on install zip on sd card and then choose zip form sd card. Then i select this rom and flash it.Its say opening package etc etc then screen displays opening Aroma installer. Now beyond this nothing happens.Screen just goes black.Aroma installer does'nt launch.I tried many times to flash this Rom but the same thing happens again and again. it says starting aroma launcher and then the screen goes black and randomly vibrates every now i then.So i just remove the battery and go in recovery mode again and restore my xperia u and reboot it...Can anyone please tell me the solution? What should i do to flash this rom on my xperia u?

Read instructions for xperience rom from here

Somewere it says : Now flash Munjenis's CWM kernel. Read instructions from that section.

[Q] Problem Flashing ROM to SGH-T839 [Sidekick 4G] ay0teddy Gingerclone v2

I've been trying to flash a ROM [Gingerclone V2] to my Sidekick 4G for a while now - I've ODINed 4 times due to lack of success. My problem seems to be the exact one as this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406745
but I haven't tried flashing a different ROM yet.
I already have the new binary recovery and .zip on my SD card before I start each time
My latest procedure:
> Using ES File Manager, copy Recovery into system>bin
> Go to ROM Manager; Flash ClockWorkMod (even though it says it's already flashed, I do it just to be safe)
> Install from SD card
> Phone goes to stock recovery screen. I select Reinstall Packages. Screen goes to CWM recovery
> Wipe Data/Factory Reset - gets stuck at formatting sdcard .android_secure
> battery pull
> Start up into stock recovery - choose wipe data, and then select reinstall packages; screen goes to CWM recovery
> Select Wipe Cache Partition
> Check Mounts - Unmount System
Here's where I'm not sure exactly what to do, and there don't seem to be any clear instructions...
> I choose Install from SD card (I don't remember the exact wording); find the zip file; select it
> It starts the install
> When install finishes, in big blue text reboot now comes up at the top of the screen (it's cut off, but I think that's what it says)
> The phone reboots, stuck at the splash screen, vibrating as if a Force Close repeatedly, as reported in the linked thread.
> ODIN
I may have forgotten a step or two. It would be very much appreciated if somebody could tell me I did wrong ^.^
Also: might be a n--b question, but is there such thing as an ODIN file for custom ROMs? Is there anyway I can get ay0teddy's ROM as this type of file and ODIN it directly?

[Q] Froyo -> ICS how

hi,
i have vibrant t959. and its running FROYO..i downloaded ICS RC5 from nyx. I would like to know how to update to that. my phone is rooted.
Please it would be much appreciated if clear STEPS are shown..
thank you
Procedure
Gingerbread
--------------------------------------------
You will be needing rooted Gingerbread for upgrading to ICS
--------------------------------------------
Root 2.3.6 :
--------------------------------------------
You have to use Super One Click 2.3.3
Before Root enable USB Debugging in Applications>Development
Open Super One Click as Admin if on Win7/Vista. Connect Phone. Click Root
--------------------------------------------
ICS
--------------------------------------------
You will need to install Clock Work Mod from ROM Manager for the procedure
-------------------------------------------
Procedure
-------------------------------------------
1. Go to Clock Work Mod recovery using the 3 key combo : volume UP + home button + power button, keep those pressed until it goes into the Clock Work Mod recovery.
2. Using the volume buttons to navigate up and down select Wipe Data/Factory Reset by pressing the home button, hit YES. Wait for it to finish and then Wipe Cache the same way you did with Wipe Data/Factory Reset. NoW Go to advanced menu> Wipe Dalvik Cache.Go back to main menu.
3. Now it`s time to flash the ICS SGS ROM :
4. Select install zip from sd card > choose zip from sd card> browse for the zip u downloaded>choose YES and let it do the magic. If it happens to reboot immediately into Clock Work Mod recovery with a different look (blue), it means it actually flashed just the ICS Kernel first.
Note: If u dont get to Clock Work Mod then you have done it.
5. If you do get there then browse for the zip again and flash it this time it will take longer as it has to install the complete ROM
6. Now all you need to do is wait for it to finish. After the flashing is done> Wipe Data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache as you already know how to do it
7. Choose Reboot System Now. It takes 5-15 minutes to boot.

[Q] help installing roms ?

i wanted to see if anyone can list the proper steps to install roms on the g2x as ive tried multiple roms and there is always something that wont work( text messaging etc) i figure its because im installing them incorrectly
Use NVflash to install CWM (NOT ROM Manager)
Put the ROM you want on your SD card
Boot into Recovery (Vol down + power button; hold then until second LG logo appears)
Wipe data (factory reset)
Wipe cache
Wipe Dalvik (under advanced options)
Format system and emmc (this is optional, I do it so I can ensure I'm getting a clean install)
Install your ROM
*Fix Permissions* (some ROMs you don't need to do this-check the instructions on the ROM's thread)
Reboot
Wait about ten minutes after it turns on to do anything (also optional)
Enjoy

rtotheichie I ended following all the listed steps you gave me exempt(fix permissions had no idea how to do it) but had the same issue i had last time which is everything works but i can only send text messages but cant receive any. I know it has to do with the rom install as when i restore a phone to previous back up and all text messages i was sent during the time the custom rom was running all are received instantly. I dont know what else to try ive seen people mentioning stuff about updating the baseban or kernel i honestly dont know what those are for but do you think that might be my issue as my g2x is running the lg's last gingerbread update(completely stock)

Nothing is bugged, its user error, you have to trim the Rom down so that the Rom and gapps can be happy together on your internal memory if you dont then there's not enough space and they start fighting one another and then some of the little files and codes get kicked outta there homes and thats why your having so many bugs

[GUIDE] Simple CM11/KitKat installation for Gfit

My friend asked me and i posted here too, for newbies like me... Cuz of no new information for new people in the forum about cm 11 rom.
Step by step:
1- You need CWM, recommend this new one, seems stable: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691115
Dowload is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51462064&postcount=13 (flashable zip file)
How can install CWM? : search the forum pls, ppl explain with details.
2- In CWM settings> Wipe DATA/FACTORY reset > Clean to install a new rom > YES
In CWM settings> Wipe Cache Partition > YES
In CWM settings> Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache> YES
3- Device cleaned for new rom> CM11/KitKat rom is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581415
Download is here : http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/beni/ (example 29-03-2014 01:58 newest one )
4- Flash and Reboot Device> first reboot will take 5 min.
5- There is Your KitKat. If you want GAPPS (google play etc), latest working gapps download is here http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407579610
Tips :
- Download all files before progress and copy your sd card.
- If you want auto update for cm 11 without reseting your rom, info is here : http://androidarmv6.org/job/cm-ota/
- CM11 has some bugs, but nearly perfect for daily use.
- How to enable developer settings on CM11;
Go to the settings menu, and scroll down to "About phone." Tap it.
Scroll down to the bottom again, where you see "Build number." (Your build number may vary from ours here.)
Tap it seven (7) times. After the third tap, you'll see a playful dialog that says you're four taps away from being a developer. (If only it were that simple, eh?) Keep on tapping, and *poof*, you've got the developer settings back.
PS:
****** I don't take any responsibilities if you have any problem about phone. And don't worry , i have install a lot of rom like these style, has no problem yet on me. Good luck and have fun...
doesnt work for me ... setup wizard gets fc, and then i can only see the statusbar, the rest of screen is black
i used philz recovery, last cm11 and these gapps that you said.
i installed the recovery, then wiped to install a new rom, next installed cm11 and gapps, and then reboot.
what is the way to follow to install cm11 correctly?
