[App] [Beta] Weebo - Automate your phone - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

A lot of people would have heard about automation apps. Apps which help to, in their crudest sense, simplify various functions of your phone and many would believe, over-simplify your life. Apps like Tasker and Llama have made a great deal of progress since they were initially launched. Both of these apps were able to exploit the hidden strengths of android to a great extent. Being open source, the Android OS enables users the freedom to tweak it and customize it in any way they want, way more than any other mobile OS out there. By combining an insane number of triggers, actions and related parameters, Tasker, and to an extent Llama, have for years now let us Android geeks make our phones our own, in every sense of the word.
Let’s face it though: as powerful as Tasker may be, it is quite the devil when it comes to usability. I didn’t say Android “geeks” above in any lesser way; the learning curve with Tasker is known to be pretty high. Scores of users have picked it up like children pick candy in a candy store, and then let go of it because they found it too bitter for their taste. Over time apps like Llama have taken care of those users- simplifying some things while removing the tougher bits. Along with these two apps, the play store is rife with many others, each trying to offer the user some sort of advancement over the other. Apps like Actions Pro, Chronos ad Locale being a few of them.
So the question is, amongst all this glut, is there really a need for another automation app? Well, Weebo would beg to differ. Sure, having too many choices is never a really bad thing, but also, what does it offer over the others which should make you, the user, take up this app over all the others? In this series of posts, this being the first one, I would take our readers through some of the capabilities of this particular app, developed in-house. In future posts, I will elaborate more on particular functions and what we can expect in the future.
THE HOME SCREEN

}
The Home screen, as you can see in the above screenshots, is essentially a list of all the rules available in your app. It includes all the rules created by you, as well as (if any) pre-made ones. Toggling the context key will bring up the sub menu, which gives you two options – “Add location” and “Weebo App settings”. Also, an automation app is nothing without the rules one creates, and as time goes and you become more comfortable with the said app, the number of rules also tend to increase. Therefore, we decided to add a an advanced selection of any rules that might be stored on your phone by their general category. By easily clicking on the (by default) “All”, you can therefore find out rules based on location, battery, utilities etc simply by changing the category. Simple and easy!
Also, to select a particular rule to activate it, all you need to do is click on it. The default colour changes to dark yellow for that particular rule, providing a visual indicator. Also, if you look closely at the screenshot below, you will see a tiny edit button alongside the selected rule. Clicking that button will enable you to directly make changes to the rule, in XML format, but more about that later.
ADD RULES
On swiping towards your left, you are greeted by the Add Rules page. Designed for most power users, it enables you to add your own rules, letting your creativity a free reign. Of course, a downside to it would be that most people don’t know XML coding or are not very savvy with it. Unfortunately, as of now, we don’t really have any workarounds, but yes, its being looked into.
Now a little about the XML page by itself. As I said earlier, in the screenshots here you can see how easy it is to add your rules. At the bottom, you get four options, update, cancel, create new and delete. I presume most of these actions are self explanatory. All in all, this is a very simple, but incredibly powerful tool. In time, we are looking to streamline this functionality in order to encourage a more expressive utilization of these rules.
LOCATIONS
The core of weebos functionality comes from the inherent use of location tracking, utilizing cellular towers around you to triangulate your location with better accuracy. To that extent, we have enabled the user with adding as many locations that he would want.
From the screenshots above, you can see that two locations are already present, Home and Work. by clicking on “start tracking” when you are at home or at work, you get the option of choosing the amount of time you would want to be tracked, which stretches from 5 minutes to 8 hours. When tracking for the stipulated time, the app is able to triangulate your position to an accurate degree, and save it for its own future reference. Once added, this can easily be used to set up rules such as ” switch on Wi-Fi when I get to Office” or ” Switch on Ringer when I get to home”. This is just a small example of how useful this location tracking feature could be, once properly used. You can also, at anytime you want, edit, delete or reset a particular locations cell ID’s if you think it needs better accuracy.
RECENT EVENTS
The final tab you can access by scrolling to your left is the “Recent Tab”. It shows all the functions and rules that you might have used recently, and allows you to search through your most used rules easily.

New tasker, amazing, and it is so easy to access and make a custom command with full guide on Your website!
Thanks in advance for Your hard work and thanks for this app, I like it!

This is nice... I also like the widget which I can place on my home-screen. Good work!!
Just one question though, how long should I track a location? Will 15 mins be enough?

15 minutes will not be enough to track all cell ids. It is recommended to track for around 4 hrs. The longer you track is better.
And don't forget to stop tracking when you go out of your house or work if you have started it

Can anyone make this flashable for those of us (me...lol) that don't have computers to do adb push? I'd really appreciate it. If not it's cool. Seems like an awesome app.

Amazing App BTW, Love it.

Weebo release - 26/06/2013
WEEBO
What is it?
Weebo is your very own googly eyed personal assistant, but with a twist. He does more than just take care of your reminders, he is able to automate your phone to a whole new level. He remembers your location, be it work or home, and is able to perform various tasks assigned to it without you having to do a single thing.
Weebo lets you go about your life and focus on the more important things while silently and efficiently taking care of the tedious ones.
What is new?
Although Weebo does sport a brand new look, the changes do not remain skin deep. Weebo features many in depth changes so as to facilitate daily user interactions. After collating data and feedback from numerous users, we have finally been able to put forward a compelling and easy to user automation app for your android phones.
Some of the essentials –
Rule Editing
Now simpler and more nuanced, the rule editor screen is a joy to use, both for old users as well as new. Focusing on simplicity and ease of use, the new Rule editor allows you to do the following easily and without any hassle-
Edit the type of rule, and set a name for it
Icons for both adding conditions as well as actions, thus giving you easy visual cues while setting up a rule
Easier to make creative rules by mixing and matching different icons, and come up with new combinations
Broken Rule Indicators
As simple but useful feature, which as the name suggests, allows you to understand much more easily as to which rules are not functioning properly. In the screenshot, you will see this visual cue depicted as a broken arrow, thus letting you know that something might be wrong with that particular rule.
UI changes to Locations and Rules list screens
The locations screen now features an option to selectively see what rules are available for you to use. You can choose to see rules based on their particular conditions/usage functions. Initially we have provided the following – Al/Enabled/Disabled/Battery/Location/Sensor/Utility. Also featuring minor improvements is the Locations page, where you can track various different locations depending on your choice.
Features Coming Soon-
A move towards even more simplicity and ease of use by providing several UI/UX changes.
A brand new update to the location tracker using Google fused location provider.
Many more interesting features in the pipeline.
Please take latest Weebo

Simply great! keep up the good work! If you need testing (alpha, beta, etc.) or any help just let me know. I'm was a long time user of tasker (ditched it as it drained my battery), Lama and now locale (with a bunch of plugins). I have to say this app beats them all.
edit: "i'm missing the calendar busy event". would be great if something like "make the device silent if i'm busy in the XYZ calendar".

Any screenshots for potential testers?
I posted one screenshot on my website (shown below)
You can download the game from my website!
http://android.neilisaac.ca/site/settlers
Let me know how it goes.
I haven't had a chance to play this a lot. I don't like the vibration, which occurs even when the phone is in silent mode.
I am fairly certain the vibration signals the computer moving. Perhaps a quick pop up or something could instead let the user know about the ai.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
The vibration and/or beep signal the beginning of a human turn. I intended this to alert you to pass the phone to someone else if you're playing with friends. These can be controlled based on your android settings ("Audible selection" and "Haptic feedback" under "Sound settings.") I'll add an option to override those in the application.
I have a new version (almost ready) that adds a bunch of minor features, including a turn log as you suggested. It also lets you set player names and colors, and have a combination of human and ai players.
I have a buddy working on some new textures. Saying he's a better artist than me is an understatement. See screenshot above
I have a short list of bugs to fix and some things that came up in testing. I'll have another release out within a day or so.
Ah, I understand that now. When playing alone it seemed pointless, but I can see how it would be useful with friends.

Check out my updated version on the market!
Here are the most significant features as of release r4:
* Set number of points to win game
* Show past game results
* Persistent settings and player names
* Turn log
* Crash and stall fixes
i really like where this is going!
used to love the game and this version is getting my attention
two things about the current version:
the "build town" button shows because i have the right recources (i guess, see my second point) but i am not able to build one because of the rules (i've only got my two initial towns and roads so i need a road first)
-> shouldn't the "build town" button show only when i am really able to build one?
i used to play the real game a couple of years ago. got used to having my "resources-trading"-card (how many x do i need to build y) visible at all times so i could glance at it while trading. i see that you implemented a menu showing when pressing the menu button in the last version (good start by the way, wanted to suggest that too) - it would be great if you could implement another button in the menu that shows to display the "resources-trading"-card (for lack of a better name)
more feedback to come.
EDIT: see below
i need a statusboard with the following information to make decisions and refine strategy:
- player points
- how many resources a player has (not how many in each category but in total - i think according to rules this is possible)
- all the stuff displayed on my own info-screen (in-game-menubar -> "info")
a suggestion where to place this: remove "info" and "turn log" from the in-game-menubar.
instead display "status" (or whatever name) to the left of "options".
status is a full-screen display of player stats.
via tab it is possible to switch to the other players, per default my own information is displayed (like when pressing "info" in the in-game-menubar)
(very) rough mockup attached.
new post because it's getting too long
_especially_ when moving the robber i need to know those things:
how many points and how many cards does everybody have?
what's the cost of a town/road/etc.?
another thing, sorry for the massive amount of stuff i just thought i'd get it all out now that i'm at it
right now i am in posession of all the right resources (lumber, wool, grain, brick) and i have a sweet spot where i want to put this town.
the thing is - the button to do it is not there!
those buttons are showing:
1st row: Info - Trade - End turn
2nd row: Buy or use card - Build road
"Build town" is not there!
is there any way to provide you with debug info for cases like this?
maybe it would be possible for you to integrate a debug option that saves the current state of the game in a txt-file i could send you, or something like it.
EDIT: i wasn't able to build towns or cities for the rest of the game.
at some point (couple of turns later) i also lost the ability to build roads, even though i had enough resources.
EDIT2: i was able to build cities, but no more towns and roads.
is there some rule that restricts the amount of towns and/or roads i forgot?
EDIT3: this has to be a rule i don't know about. in another game i am now able to build roads/towns/cities as i like.
i just move the robber because i rolled a 7.
the game offered me to steal from either of two players because they had cities where i placed it.
one player had 0 resources the other had 3.
why bother to show the player with 0 resources?
a confirmation when building roads would be great - i was very sure of my placement but build two roads in the wrong spot because of clumsiness
oh and i'd like to help with the german translation.
Freaking Awesome!!!
Freaking Awesome!!!
I love, love, love, love this game!
Thanks for all the feedback Emelie! I'll try and respond to most of it here.
Status windows
First off, I like your idea of the consolidated status window. My thought is to keep the (optional) popup turn log so you can see what happened since your last turn at a glance, but then replace the info and turn log buttons with a merged version.
Your mockup looks good. My approach has been to avoid showing any information that can be found by looking at the board. I think the status window shouldn't tell you much that your opponents in the real board game don't have to tell you. The big thing is that it shouldn't show victory points - I think a big part of the game is in speculating this for yourself. More importantly, there are the "victory cards" that aren't shown to other players until you declare that you've won. Of course you need the information such as the number of development cards that each person holds so you can make your speculations.
A quick building costs dialogue that is always available would probably be good. I put it under trade and that was good enough for the time, but I'm not 100% happy with it - it's on my todo list.
Interface
I'd like to add an undo option after building. After I added zoom and long press support I found that I don't make mistakes, so this became low priority. Of course this would help with people learning the interface. It would also probably help to have "toast" (the small popups in the lower third of the screen) prompts to tell you what to click ("double tap to zoom in, then long press to build your road" or something.)
When you steal from someone, I decided to show the full list so it is more obvious why it doesn't let you steal from someone. My ideal interface design would be a dialogue like that, but with the 0 resource players disabled and greyed out, however I don't think that's possible without going to more depth. Maybe I'll change it from a dialogue to a full activity (info and turn log are dialogues that pop up, trade and options are full activities - you'll notice that they don't disappear when you rotate the screen; I went to great lengths to ensure that the steal dialogue comes up again if you do this.) Let me know if you have other ideas, or even a mock-up.
Usability-oriented design is important. I'll admit that much of my design is based on what was either most obvious to do while developing it, or what is fastest to use when clicking through the game really fast. My preview-2 release was really quick, but has poor usability.
Rules
The board game has 5 settlements (which I call towns since it's shorter and screen space is valuable on a phone) 4 cities, and 15 roads. This forces you to use a more diversified strategy to get points, so you can't just build 10 towns and win. When you build a city, you do get 1 town back. This is implemented but my game doesn't really tell you about it (except maybe in the instructions if I included that.) I think I'll include something like this in the status window "towns: 3 / 5" or similar. Maybe keep the button when you can afford it, but give you an error message when you click it explaining why you can't build a town.
Translations
In android, you typically put all your strings in an xml resource file. Some of my generated text dialogues are hard-coded though. I'll try and move more of those into the xml file so they can be translated too. The buttons at the top will be more annoying to support translations for.
Here are the countries with the most users: US, UK, Canada (all english) then Germany, Netherlands, France, Sweden, Denmark (order not exact.) I'll try and do a french translation as an example.
For those willing to help, I'll make it really quick and easy. Send me an email at [email protected] and I'll get you set up.
Debugging
About dumping debug info, the easiest way is for you to describe exactly what you did. Include the stage of the game; is it the first turn? where are you in the turn order? how many ai players? what buttons did you click? did you rotate the screen half way through?
If it crashes or hangs, the best way to help me is to give me a stack trace. If you're using the market version, there's a button to submit it automatically. Add a message telling me what was going on in case I can't guess. So far the only person who added a comment just said "the game crashed again."
If you get to a point you don't think is right, you can try to produce a stack trace showing that too. This is a bit tricky though since it actually needs to be in a point in my code, rather than android runtime. The procedure is to run "adb shell" then kill the application (use "ps" to get the PID, then "kill -9 PID_NUMBER") then check "adb logcat" and send me the stack trace if it's useful (check for class names within com.settlers.) If this doesn't make sense, don't worry about it.
Thanks!
Going to give this a go, catan is a very addictive game, kudos for bringing it to Android!
yeah i like your detailed answer! going to reply at the end of the week - massive pile of work to take care of.
in the meantime - i'd like to do the german translation, PM/post instructions so i can proceed! sent you an email

[APP DEV] Calendar Droid. Would like some feedback on my new app.

I'm developing a calendar app to replace the stock app for Google Calendar.
Link to app: https://market.android.com/details?id=dk.alxb.calendardroid
The app is in BETA stage and I would love to get some feedback from you guys. You can write here, or you can email CalendarDroid [AT] gmail com and I will respond quickly.
I would love to weed out the Google Calendar related bugs on the BETA and focus on adding new great features.
The philosophy behind the app is a calendar that is easy to use, clean, intuitive, and highly customizable.
What is currently implemented:
Month View / Week View / Day View / Agenda View
A few settings to customize
What needs done before release:
Removal of all bugs
Search
Custom "add/edit event" windows
More views (14 day?)
Selection of shown calendars
More intuitive navigation
National holidays
WIDGETS! Lots of them. (Might be Paid version only)
Your suggestions!
Hi there,
Very nice app,better than stock
I would like to give you some suggestions. If I were you I would do these.
If you compare your app with others, they are similar in view aspect. Since screen is not that large for everyone, the word "presentation" for ex. wouldn't fit the box and square boxes appear nice too instead of rectangle. Something like iphone calendar ( I appreciate what is good in ios or android)
To solve the space issue, you could put color codes or words and make them customized.
PPl can assign red to school, brown to office....
When you click them, a window pops up and shows the complete schedule
Note I have exaggerated things on images, not all boxes should have too many colors, by using square you can use the extra space down there for quick note or whatever you like. Didnt have time to make eeach box different
Again Im sure you can find better ideas, You can sell more if show something extra

Wow thanks for your suggestions. The color coding for the events you mention are just different calendars right? I for example have a Google Calendar for school, one for work, one private and so one. Each with a different color. Color coding of individual events would take some time to do manually.
You mention a window popping up when you click on one of the square day fields. What about making the lower part of the screen a scroll view with events of the day you have pressed? Then if you press on the square again you go to day view, but this way you can more quickly see the events for the day without loading a new view.

No problem at all.
You can for ex say you just wanna see work schedule, so instead of general window, u see a new one with let say brown color and only work related. new window for school and so on.
If you wanna see everything then you can have a general window that shows everything together.
Cuz it's hard to fit all the words inside the box (like in my first image) you can use colors or words or any other shapes you prefer.
Yes that's better idea use the extra space for scroll i like that may be more buttons, shortcuts, it has so many potentials. This way you keep it really clean, easy to access and havent seen anyone doing it
Make copy and paste of events possible and easily done from one date to another. Please see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2618 for a list of people who are angry this isn't already implemented. This is a pain if the event does not regularly reoccur thus has to be entered over and over by the user or the user has to go to a desktop or notebook to fix it from the web client. My Razor did this so it is just weird it can't be done on stock Android.

Thanks. That is a great idea. I think my next larger feature is custom add/edit event windows. Right now I use the ones from your default calendar.
With my own customer views for adding and editing events the possibilities are endless. Of course copy and paste will be a simple thing to implement. Then there are the ability to make more advanced recurrence rules, easier selection of dates (on a month like view), and much more.
Yeah! A useful month view!!!!
IMO, the month view is the winning feature. I can actually see is going on! What this isn't stock if beyond me. Thank you for, well, using your brain.

You will win a lot of people if you handle the full range of recurring event options.

I wouldn't waste time implementing this in the app. I don't know about other countries, but there is a Google calendar for the US. I just subscribe to it.
- WIDGETS! Lots of them. (Might be Paid version only)
I am curious to see what you have in mind, but, IMO, these could wait. I currently use Android Agenda Widget, because it integrates with Astrid.
Anyways, I think you are off to a great start. I look forward to see what you cook up.
Calendar functionality: Holidays

I most definitely agree with @weareallkosh that national holidays are not worth investing your time (at least not at this point, there are many higher-priority issues to deal with in the stock calendar app).
Since even Google couldn't implement holidays right in their calendars you can subscribe to (and they declined to answer why), I think your time is best spent elsewhere. So many people were complaining about the defects in Google's "US Holidays" calendar, most particularly that it does not extend far enough into the future that I created one from scratch that incorporated "recurring formulas" for all future dates, and I generated and merged in all "irregularly repeating" holidays, such as Easter, and "nudging" dates such as "Tax Returns Due" to the following Monday when April 15 falls on a weekend day, etc.
Since anyone can subscribe to this (or any other nationality/ethnicity/belief-based) calendar, there's little incentive for you to duplicate the effort. Also, particularly if you wish to support multiple nationalities, cultures, contemporary versus traditional versus orthodox religion variants, and so on, you can quickly get bogged down in endless debates over which dates ought to be included in which calendars, as well as having to investigate frequent reports of "your calendar shows X falling on Y date, but that's wrong", many of which are inaccurate. Just sucks your time away from more urgent issues.
Cant wait to test this app. Will the calendar have a bi-weekly event capability?
@weareallkosh, @tgi007
Thanks guys. I will put national holidays way in the back. Your solution is much better tgi007, and hopefully someone will make something like it for other languages and traditions.
From the input I have received I have decided that the next feature is custom add/edit event views. This will make copy/paste of events, advanced recurrence rules, and intuitive date selection possible.
@Rico ANDROID
With the next feature implemented I will look into the best way to specify advanced recurrence rules. I have read the specification for the recurrence rules and biweekly is possible in the standard together with many more features.
The hard part will be how to specify these rules because the standard is really flexible. But I think some templates to select from is the way to go. Like the stock calendar, just with more options of course. AND the possibility to specify an end date to the recurrence or the number of recurrences.
But maybe I find a great way to specify it without making it too hard to understand.
Thanks all. More feedback is welcome. This is great!

If you dont have a prerelease version, at least you could post some screenshots so people have some ideea what are you taking about. Who knows maybe its a good nav app.
EDIT: now your OP its just fine, i only post it from the first place because i saw over 150 views of your thread and poor description.
sadly i have to post 10 replys before ican add pictures and download links to my theads. But i am on it.
So the link and pictures will follow in a bit. When you look in Google Play for "Clicknav" you can find it.

I tend to agree. Even going to familiar places from unfamiliar ones wouldn't seem to need an app.
It may have been a programming exercise f for the op.

Its not necessary that one needs to be familiar with a route. Let's take an example ...
I go to Australia to visit my Bro (am unfamiliar with Australia as I live in the Middle East). Once am at his place I take his spare car and drive round the country side and need to get back home :s Had I set a marker before I left my bro's place, I could get directions easily. Ok, that was day 1. Day 2, I move out again ... remember I know my brother's place if I am near or about the locality but have no clue of where I am when I drive beyond a point. This could help me.
Now, if I have a widget on my launcher, I could use this right through my Australian trip.
That said, I have not tried this app yet. I do wish that this could tie up/ integrate with other offline map apps too such as Sygic, etc. When I am at my home, I use Google Maps a lot, but when I am touring, I use offline maps to save on my data. Would be good if I could go through Google maps on my PC, place markers and then have it pop up in my offline map application when I do not want to use Google maps.
I like this app, it is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for it.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It's not only usefull for common places. You can add any place you want. For example for a trip preparation.
You can also search places in Google Maps and for later use you can send the place to the app and safe it.
I work a lot in different citys and i use it dayly to get around. If you live in a small town it is easy to find your way but in big citys which you are not familiar with it's always a nightmare.
And with the categories you can easily manage your addresses for example by work, friends, family, discos and so on.
There are a lot people whih are brilliant in navigation but i am a bit stupid with this. so i created the app to help people like me to find there way faster(one click or even with a widget) and more easy.
Hello everybody.
I hope you hav fun with my app.
I added some new features which makes it more usable and a little help for beginners.
Features:
- save of last category
- added help
- added menu
- added button in menu to get current gps position
Great app, but is there any way of getting rid of the annoying ads at the bottom?
In the newest version i made them already less anoying. Because in the past the ads pushed the buttons away. Now the buttons stay where they are so that you can't accidentally press the ads.
And if i would put them on top then the ads would push away the list and then you maybe navigate to a location you don't want.
And i wanted to give a free app with full functionality instead of a demo version.
So i use the ads because it cost me a lot of work to create this app and to make it runable on a lot of systems.(Hopefully it's bug free)
I'm liking the app so far you. I would gladly pay a $1 to have an ad free version. I had a few suggestions that hopefully could be added.
1. Even though when we save a location it saves the latitude and longitude can it also fill in the complete address for the location.
2. More labels notes is a good start phone would be another good one or even better you can add your own
3. maybe when you are in the location edit the button that you use to launch could instead be a street view image of the location.
4. option to change distance from km to miles for the US
5. options to sort addresses A-Z, distance from you etc...
6. more background colors and styles
Thanks a lot for those tips. After i read this i needed to implement some of this stuff in my app.
So here are the new features:
- automatic suggestions while you type in the address (only works with active internet connection)
- new labels like phone number, email and web
- new search function
- show distance in miles and feet
- sort locations by distance
- new info window with automatic functions like call, send email and start browser
Hope you have fun with the app. And please tell me if you have any trouble or if you like to see other stuff in the app.
PS.: I think about a payable version of the app without ads. But at the moment the amount of users is too small.
But you can change that
Now a new Version is out with new features.
- added public transport navigation
- fixed an import export bug
- small grafic changes
- when you share an address out of the new version of google maps 7.0 than the application will be able to read the information

Hi,
First of all thanks for your great app. Really useful.
As many other users, I prefer to use a voice command when I'm on the road. So far the best for me is KLets and I was thinking if you could allow its developer to add support for your app in order to be able to launch a Clicknav's location item with the voice command: "Navigate to" + "location name".
There's a discussion in the support forum of KLets. Hopefully you could help us.
http://www.voicecontrolapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13463&p=16631#p16631
The idea is to allow external access to the location list and be able to invoke a location item via Intents (maybe there's an easier way).
Thanks in advance

We're constantly working on adding new features and fixing those annoying bugs/
Hey all,
We've just updated Dietista to version 1.0.2!
The version includes major bug fixes and UI improvements.
We've also attached the APK to main thread.
Have fun!
I downloaded the app from the app store and cannot get past setup. I entered my info then selected my body type. Then entered some exercises. Next it asks me if I want to go on a diet, maintain my weight or gain muscle. I can't select any of them successfully. I chose diet and it won't let me change my goal weight. I chose maintain and it tells me that I should add some exercises, the same with gaining muscle.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
Only bug I've found so far is that it won't let me put the same exercise in on different days with different lengths of time. I go hiking at least a few times a week for about an hour each, but with one of them well over that. Can be anywhere from 3 hours to 5 hours depending on if I'm by myself or not.
So my breakdown would look something like this...
Day 1 - Hiking, 1 hour
Day 2 - Hiking, 1 hour
Day 3 - Hiking, 3 hours
Also, I'm curious what diet you have it programmed for. Low/Slow Carb? Paleo? There's tons of different diets out there and more opinions on them than one can imagine. I'm just curious which one this app follows.
Hi. I like your pp. However it's more like for my wife use not really for me. What I need from your app is to be able to adjust my macros ie. 50%protein 30carbs%and 20%in fats. Or maybe that's aviable in paid version?
Anyway it looks solid

Cool looking App.
Nice work.
I'm also curious about setting Macros. I am doing BeachBody Body Beast and I need to focus on macros. Looking for an easier way to do this with meal plans. So when I set my macros I can then get reasonable/realistic meals suggested to me.
I think this app is amazing so far, and can get so much better too. I think the biggest thing to add would be like others have mentioned the ability to add macro's. Some diet's, like keto, look to cut carbs and increase protein and fats. The other advantage to this is for people who are diabetic and need to limit certain parts of their diet. Doing so, I think, will open you up to a much wider audience.
How about some specific sport options. I play Soccer twice a week besides gym 2-3 times a week depending on schedule. I think it is pretty good app though. Try and make it available in IOS as well, I have a couple of "evil" friends that would be interested lol.
excellent app!
Hi all,

Hi keekah,
Dietista did not forbid you of choosing to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but simply promoted your with a suggestion to add exercises. You can ignore the warning and proceed with your desired goal.
Please let us know how that worked our for you, and for any other questions we're available through this thread and through mail([email protected]).

Hi ridethisbike,
Currently there is no option of choosing different lengths for the same exercise. We'll definitely add support for that in one of the upcoming updates.
Regarding the diet plan, Dietista's diet consists of a healthy balance between carbs, protein and fat. We do know there are many diet options out there, but for the time being we feel Dietista's diet should do the trick.

We're glad you're enjoying Dietista.
Regarding your question, we do want to add support to adjsut your macros, but our main fear is that some of our users will adjust it in a manner that could end up hurting themselves. But don't worry, we're working our way around it

We're not sure we completely understand your suggestion,Celeox. Dietista do offer the option to add multiple specific exercises(such as Soccer and Gym).
Thanks again for all your comments, we promise to consider all of them.

Hi there,
I've just had a overview of the app and must say I like it from the point of view of a developer. Good design, nice UX... Nothing to say about tech works, five stars for it.
Menu suggestions don't look so good, though. For the data I provided (no activity at all) the menu has way too many carbs (pasta, rice, potatoes cereals...) has sausages aplenty, fatty cheese ... I would suggest anyone looking for a good, safe and healthy diet to visit a dietician and/or endocrinologist. Specially one that's familiar with European / Mediterranean diet.
My 2 cents.
No spanish?
The app looks great! Both my wife and I have installed.
The only thing I've noticed so far is I change it to metric but it still shows energy in "Calories" instead of "Joules"

Hey people,
I want to introduce you a suite of Android apps I've created under the Simple Mobile Tools brand. As of writing this it contains 13 apps: App-launcher, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Clock, Contacts, Draw, File-manager, Flashlight, Gallery, Music-Player, Notes, Thank You.
They are all open source, contain no internet access, no unexplainable permissions, no ads. That makes them perfect not only for the casual users, but also for the privacy concerned ones. They are available on f-droid too, sources are on Github. They contain customizable colors (including the app launcher color), dark theme is used by default.
I created them 2 years ago and by now they have roughly 6 million downloads together, so they are fine-tuned for the most part already, it isn't something fresh and rough that just came out of a school project. I'm actually working on them even more than full-time by now, so they can't just disappear or become abandoned. They are translated in up to 32 languages, translations are done by volunteers. The most popular app is the Gallery, the next ones are Calendar and Contacts.
Google keeps pushing developers to be more transparent with handling user data and they will also make their requirements more strict this year. App updates will have to target SDK 26 (Android Oreo) starting November 1 and while my apps are already doing that, it will cause a lot of troubles to other big players. Among many other things they will have to implement runtime permissions and not take every listed permission granted by installing the apps. That is one of the reasons why I think my apps have a tremendous potential.
Even though I have published app privacy policies as needed at Google Play, many people ask me what data do I collect. Well, since the apps are offline, I'm not collecting any data whatsoever. And since there are no ads, there are no marketing companies tracking you either.
The great benefit of using the apps isn't just the security, but also the consistent user experience, that I miss so much in Android. In my apps I'm reusing as much as I can. Not just actual functions, but also icons, actions, sometimes whole screens. Whenever possible, I'm using the Material icons provided by Google, so they should look familiar and you shouldn't be wondering what will happen once you press them.
Instead of typing out everything here, let me redirect you to my Medium article Why did I create Simple Mobile Tools.
I wrote an article about the first 2 years of my journey at Medium too, it is called 5 million downloads on 2nd anniversary. What now?
In case you want to read some user feedback, a Reddit article has been written too by a user (I'm not involved in that at all).
There are many new features/bugs/improvements/apps on the roadmap and while I already have around 20k installs a day, the best is yet to come!
Stay tuned,
Thanks!
( First ? )
Good to see you on XDA, indeed.
Thank you for keeping your software clean, with no analytics, no tracking, no data mining, and also for the enormous amount of work over the years. ( Been following on GitHub for a while. )

Hi, I was looking for a substitute for quickpic (best gallery ever unfortunately buy and let die by cheetah mobile). Simple gallery lately have improved a lot but have some big lackness to be good as quickpic.*
Here the problems that quickpic doesn't have:
1- can't rotate image using simply two finger. //*
2- when you move an image from internal storage to SD (and viceversa) it change the date of editing, if you use that to order it will be the first. Make it optional //*
3- when you edit and image it change the edit data and the image became the first if you use it to order. Make it optional*
4- slow loading time. //
I really, really hope this will can be my the sostituite to all people still use quickpic even if it's not updated in years
I also suggest to add the possibility of draw in the photo editing.*
Good luck with this beautiful app.*

Great work on the apps.
One small thing I've noticed, in the Gallery app, list view.. There is a minor misalignment in the thumbnails. Hopefully that's an easy fix?
Otherwise really nice, keep up the great work.

Hey, some of those things have already been fixed, but you will have to get the Pro version at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simplemobiletools.gallery.pro . Im working on rotating with gestures already, it just isnt that simple. Im getting there step by step, some initial implementation might be added in 6.5.0 released soon.
Will you be updating Simple Camera or it will turn into a pro app?

I dont really want to work on that app. There are so many things handled differently per manufacturer and per OS version that I just cannot make it work reliably. Now that there are devices coming with multiple cameras, Im actually always further from making it a compelling app.

Okay I understand.
It just a shame that there are not any other Camera apps which are simple like Simple Camera that I know of.

Great work man, love the philosophy and hard work behind your apps, been a long time user of simple gallery as I used to use quickpic (before cheeta mobile ruined it), and google photos sucks for quick offline use. Got simple gallery pro a little while back and I just got your thank you app too. Anyways, great work, glad to see you on xda, cheers!
thanks, enjoy
First I want to thank you for the apps. I've used most on and off over the past couple years. I currently use calendar and gallery only though.
My suggestion to you, from an end user, is to focus more on the style and layout of your apps. The clock, for example, doesn't resize to be large enough and forces info the user may not wasn't, e.g. PM...and contacts shoves things together, name and phone number, leaving lots of empty space yet cramped together info, calendar widget text size doesn't fit with event list though they're defined by the same setting. In other words, your use of negative space to create a more appealing look & feel to the app could use some work....please don't take this as a negative. Your work is much appreciated! Just constructive criticism.
ye sure, any feedback is appreciated. I will consider it, but for now I generally want to focus on the functionality. It looks not that bad Thanks
Could there be an option to show the actual size of an image in the Gallery application ? ( If there is, I haven't figured it out... )
It particularly affects small images, like pixel art or icons, that are blown up many times their size and distorted.
