P500 bricked, No fastboot, No recovery - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After following the suggestions in my previous thread.
I am in a worse position than before. No Fastboot, No Recovery.
Is there any way to rescue this phone? (please read what I've already tried in the linked thread)

The only solution I can give to your problem is that you flash the stock gingerbread(or froyo) firmware provided by LG via KDZ updater.
The instructions can be found on the link below(including download)-
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-install-android-2-3-3-gingerbread-firmware-on-lg-optimus-one.html
After successfully flashing it, if the phone doesn't turn on then turn the power off. Press and hold Power key + Home Key + Down volume key for more than 10 seconds.. When the power turns on, release these keys.
I am 100% sure that your phone will working again. If you have any problem or need my help PM me.

Wow! It worked.
Thank you so much.
EDIT: Slight problem.
It only lasts a few seconds before rebooting. The first time lasted a minute, then the time it stayed alive exponentially dropped off.
The phone is plugged in the whole time.
I am 90% sure the battery is flat.
This happened last time.

bump

I have given up on fixing this phone.
Ive posted it on ebay if anyone is interested.

Faster way to Download Screen

Not sure if this has been posted before, though I have not seen it in my searches.
Remove the battery
Plug in the USB
Hold Down Volume and and Down
While holding them down, insert the battery
and Boom - Instant download screen.
You do not have to wait for two cycles.
Put the back plate on and flash away.
This works from either "bricked" (Computer "!" Phone) or reboot.
IBTM
Not really a development topic.
i have not bricked my device from doing this but what i do is just...
1. power down device
2. hold vol +/- button
3. insert usb
and it always goes to download screen. keep in mind i have flashed my device countless times using this method and have not ran into any problems but its just a fyi

Please, please, pretty please, mercifully please... search/read and read/search again before posting.
my favorite way is turning off phone volume + and - and inserting usb

Flash to stock JF6 using ODIN from this thread and you will lose ability to use buttons to go to recovery or download mode. Happens to me every time.
I have to apply 3 button fix to get that back

[Q] Moto G won't turn on

Hey! I have a Moto G LTE and about six hours ago I returned to stock after trying out some CM ROMs, everything was fine, I was in 4.4.4 with no issues and after updating all the apps that required it I had an update to Lollipop. I clicked the download button and after it finished downloading the phone restarted and started to update the system. After it was done the screen turned black and the phone just turned off. And that was it.
I literally have tried everything I saw in the net, I left it charging for about two hours, but it didn't solve anything, I pressed the Power + Volume Down button for 30 seconds, the Power button itself from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, yet nothing happens.
When I connect it to a PC Windows plays the sound when a device is connected, but it does not show the phone and doesn't seem to turn it on or anything.
Is there any way of solving this? I don't know what else to try, if at least I could get into the fastboot menu I will install a ROM, but I cannot.
Thanks in advance.
@Zox09 - How did you return to Stock? Did you use a firmware image? If so, provide the exact title.

Try the following again.
Plug it into the charger
Hold the VOL DOWN key
While still holding the VOL DOWN key, press and hold the POWER key
Hold both keys down for over 120 seconds. This is more than two minutes and will seem like a long time. You might want to time yourself to make sure you hold it longer than two minutes.
After holding the keys down for more than two minutes, release them.
The Flash Boot screen will display, and the Normal Reboot option will be highlighted
Press the VOL UP key and the device will start a normal reboot.
If you have tried the above and it didn't work, try this:
Plug in the phone for 15 minutes.
Proceed to Step 2 above.

Thanks, I've already tried both of them a couple of hours ago and still nothing.
Someone in the Motorola Forum has said that I probably have bricked the device because of downgroading to 4.4.4 and then updating again. I didn't know this was possible since I have made this a couple of times with ROMs.
Is there anything else I can try?

The reference to hard-bricking due to doing a downgrade does not apply in your case. It would only apply if you upgraded to Lollipop, and then flashed the KitKat firmware. Even then, the hard-brick is due to a specific order of events: downgrading from 5.0.2 to 4.4.2 and OTA Update to 4.4.4.
It can be tricky following those steps sometimes. Are you sure the power cable is working? plugged into a wall socket?
If that method still fails to work, you have a hard-brick and need to wait with others for a Lollipop solution in this thead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/how-to-revive-hard-bricked-moto-g-t2833798

I have tried with two different cables and two wall sockets, the USBs are one the original of the Moto G and the other from a LG tablet I have, and the sockets one from a Samsung mobile and the other from the tablet (the Moto G came with no wall socket), and in neither of them are working.
I think I'll have to wait for a solution :crying:
Thanks for your help anyway!

I've had a few occasions when I thought my Moto G was dead. Keep trying to charge it and follow the steps for another 24 hrs. That being said, I believe hard-bricked devices sometimes also only show some LED activity. You are best asking in the thread I mentioned above.

Great New, I got it working again, Seems like battery life may have been a key issue here. Its loaded up, but got stuck on the blue musical bit and made some horrific beeping noise and keeps rebooting. Any help? I can't seem to get into recovery mode, Maybe thats just my method.

Bricked My Phone - Please Help!

I wanted to make a clean start on my phone after flashing way too many ROM's, so I RUU'd via HBOOT using a .zip on my Ext SD card. I used Dottat's 5.0.1 file. Everything seemed to work fine. Once I got up and running and rebooted, I went back into my bootloader (vol - + power) and did a factory reset. Everything worked smoothly and I got through first boot to the setup screen. At this point I wanted to install enewman's 5.1.1 GPE ROm then upgrade to the 6.0 Marshmallow build I had just been running. I powered down the phone and went back into bootloader. I selected Recovery and pressed power button to select. Phone turned off and never rebooted. And now I can't get it to turn on at all. I've tried holding power button for a long time, power + vol up, power + vol down. I get no bump, no lights, no nothing. When I plug it in to a charger I get no charging symbol.
Is it possible that when I RUU'd I removed my TWRP recovery, then when I tried to boot into recovery it got lost? A few things that might help - I am S-OFF, and I did notice right before I tried to reboot that the phone did say it was still unlocked.
Can anybody please suggest a fix? Or do I have a fancy paperweight to gift someone with this holiday season?
Thanks in advance for your help.

An RUU unless edited will have stock recovery in it..
As to why it won't turn on - what was the battery at, could it have died? Their are some sites online to try and get your battery to charge if it dies. Try plugging into USB computer for 24h with phone off was one I read at some point. Best of luck.

Thanks @andybones, I was hoping someone like you would reply (I've been following your work since running BoneStock on my SIII - we have similar taste in stripped down OS's). There should have been plenty of juice on it, I think I was in the 60% range last time I booted. In fact, the phone was plugged into the charger when it died. Yeah, really concerning that I get nothing at all...
Anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

What steps have you taken thus far as to rule them out?
first check out this link and try this
also check out this link about fixing the charging logic
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/219029/Device+will+not+power+on+after+battery+ran+dry
Also could call HTC, they may send you a new device, which sucks but better than nothing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I held pow and vol+ for 10 seconds, pow and vol - for ten seconds.. I held pow and vol + and vol - for two minutes. No joy. I called HTC, they were super nice and very helpful, but unfortunately none of their suggestions helped. They had me plug it into my pc to see if it registered, had me do the pow and vol +/- for two minutes. After that, they recommended I send it in for repair. Unfortunately, since my phone is out of warranty, they said I would need to pay for repair.
I filed an insurance claim, got a new one coming Friday. Gotta refresh myself on getting s-off... Thanks again for your help. If anyone else has any suggestions (or questions), wouldn't be a bad thing to repair the phone and have a spare waiting in the wings... Is there a way to change the IMEI in case I can repair the old one? :silly:

Bricked S8+ SM-G955F while rooting!?

Hello!
I tried flashing another ROM to my S8+. The ROM was downloaded from SAMMOBILE and I followed the instructions step by step. While flashing with Odin ( Odin was downloaded from the link they provide on their site ), 5 seconds after I pressed START the phone just powered off after I pressed the bixby button by mistake. Now, the phone won't even power on and the led isn't turning on when I charge the phone! What can I do? Worked so hard for this phone!!

Hi again and thank you so much for all the help!
I had around 70% battery life so there was no chance it went from 70 to 0 in 5 mins.
It can not discharge because it's turned off and I can't make it power back on
I was flashing the AP file and 3 seconds after I hit start in odin the phone just powered off. All the buttons are working properly and there is no SIM/memory card in it.
If I press the power button nothing happens...same when I connect it to my PC....nothing
The phone is dead and so am I ))

Hi
Just the AP file what about the other 3 BL , CP and CSC? and what Odin setting you had?
My best guess is that the hardware is in an undetermined state ..not necessarily bricked but it may be
Keep pressing the buttons , try to get into download you may get lucky and catch the hardware "awake" and let you get into download mode...if so flash the firmware again...all 4 files

If you are in the same base , Nougat to Nougat, flashing just one of them should not be too bad..but when changing base Nougat to Oreo...that is not a very good idea, is complete different firmware and they may not be 100% compatible
lets cross fingers and hope for the best

Hey, did you manage to start your device again normally?
I'm having the exact same issue and there doesn't seem to be any solution online.
Hello it's me (maicanvlad7) but from a guest account. It didn't start so I was forced to use the warranty. Depending on your location you might or might not be able to use the warranty. There is no software solution for this problem, none that I know of at least. Best of luck man!
