PingChat 2 has been officially out for iPhone, Blackberry and Android for a while now. It's free and ad-supported I think (not sure).
Who have been using it? I'm currently on WhatsApp, but it's kind hard to convert friends to that as it's a paid app.
Here's a more official post:
PingChat! 2 now available for Android, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod and iPad

One of the big advantages of whatsapp is that people subscribe with their phonenumber, so you immediately see everbody who has whatsapp. This is really a problem with pingchat, yes it free, but why would people use this?
I have tried to pursuade some people but the most common thing you'll hear is this:
"But all my friends have whatsapp."
Personally I really like pingchat, very nice layout, easy to use and best of all, FREE. Although i'm using whatsapp beta for free now as well. I'm still trying to get people over to pingchat.

That seems the most problematic thing for me as well...
I won't use it until pingchat allows multi login.
I've been using it with friends. It's been great, but what would be awesome would be the ability to add a user to an already in progress group chat. I have a forum of people who all follow a sports team, and we've been using it to discuss team news and happenings. Every time someone new joins, i have to close the current chat and reinvite 20 people into a new chat.
Can I know can HTC Touch HD (Blackstone) use pingchat.. is there any link to download if is useable..been searching alot of site but can find any..

The app is GREAT on battery life and uses push notifications directly from there serves!! The app is using our own custom push servers. The app does nothing in the background but notify you of a message direct to you. Tell everyone about it and watch your Friends list build up right before your eyes, then you can say good-bye to everything else!!!

ok let me start off by saying we our proud to finally release our version of videotonez,
here's some changes we made since last year:
Over 1,000,000,000 Mp4 Videos (includes music, sports, events & almost any video you can think of)
Social Feature that lets you Share your selections easily with friends via Twitter & Facebook
RSS Music News Feed
Full Screen Option
Create your own Videotone and assign to specific contacts
We also made it Compatible with almost all Samsung Galaxys and the new Samsung Infuse.
I hope everyone enjoys it, and can take a couple of minutes of their day to give us some feedback on any issues or errors you get.
The app is Ad-Supported which obviously makes it free!
To find the app in the Android Market just search for "Muz"
Video Tutorial is also in the Description if you need any help setting up the app and etc.

So Today is the Day Guys.. :good::good::good:
Looks like Frank Boulben, BlackBerry’s CMO, was somewhat right when he declared BBM for Android and iPhone would be available “within days.”
After a four-week delay, BlackBerry announced today that BBM will be available to download today. The highly-anticipated messaging service has been tested and is now stable, ready for prime time. In a blog post, BlackBerry’s Andrew Bocking stated, ”In the next few hours, people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores – where it will be free to download.”
To ensure there will be no issues this time, BlackBerry is enforcing a ‘simple line-up system.” BlackBerry is urging those interested in downloading BBM for either platform to ‘reserve’ a spot by registering their email via BBM.com website. Here’s how one will be able to download:
- Download BBM (easiest way is to visit BBM.com from your Android or iPhone browser)
- Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line
- We will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM
BBM for Android will require OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher, plus BBM for the iPhone is compatible for those running iOS6 or higher. As expected, the app will operate in the same fashion as BBM on BlackBerry devices, but will be limited to messaging and groups at launch.
