Beeping while charging - Asus Transformer TF700

I'm running CROMI-X 4.4.1 Whenever the screen is off the tab constantly beeps every 2 seconds. It charges fine enough and the beeping stops as soon as the screen is turned on. Is anyone else having this problem? Could it be a problem with the charging port or cord? I couldn't find anything in settings to turn this off. It's making it really hard to sleep at night when I normally charge it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241818
Something like that?
Just mute it. The toggle is the speaker icon in the notification panel's Quick Settings.

Thanks. I was hoping there was a way to keep it so I'd still have my normal sound notifications on and stop the beeping/chiming. Oh well.

I've heard this comes from using cheap/third party chargers. Never had the problem myself so I can't confirm.

Yes I can confirm that some non Asus chargers don't supply quite the correct voltage. I have a cheap ebay one that beeps. My normal Asus charger charges fine.

Questions about keyboard dock

i, I bought the keyboard dock for my transformer pad.I have some questions....
I what to know if there is a application to regulate the gestures of touch pad and I want to know if there is a way to stop charges the tab when we put it on the keyboard dock. This charging is good for tablet or it exhausted my battery?
AFAIK no to bothbut there might be something for the oad, I doubt it though.
The tablet will always charge off the dock, this is fine for the tablet. I don't think being constantly drained to 0 and than recharged is good for the battery life, just wikipedia li-ion or w/e it is. So basically, just remember to charge the dock every now and then and youbshoukd be fine.

OK, i understand!!Thanks!
Something else, when i put the tab on dock and the screen is off, how i can open the screen??
Only with the power button??
For me it usually unlocks if I dock while locked; you use the power/sleep key.
Two minutes of fiddling you could have done, also shows if I hit the lock key on the dock after hitting power (to turn on the screen), it is possible to unlock without dragging the circle.
I know from past experiments I can click/hold then drag, or click the circle and than click the unlock zone using the touch pad.
Experimentation,science, fun!

Disable Fully Charged Notification?

Is there currently a way to disable the fully charged battery notification?
At night my phone is plugged in to the charger and sitting on the nightstand right next to where I sleep. When it goes off that it's at 100% charge in the middle of the night it wakes me up thinking I have a text or something.
I too would like to know about this...
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
Going to get the phone in 2 weeks for my wife, and I know this would be really annoying. Used to have the notification on my Galaxy S2, but ROMs have fixed it. But anyway, one way that worked on the S2 was to have it rooted and rename the charged notification sound to something else. Maybe it'll work for this phone as well? Worth a shot
I have literally never heard this before. Maybe I disabled it somehow?
I see the little pop-up when I turn my screen on and its charged, but that's all.
Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, was originally there on my Epic also but a custom ROM fixed that.
The problem on the Photon is it uses whatever sound you have set as your notification tone (i.e for sms, email, etc), so if you replaced or set that to a dead sound, you'd also kill your notification tone.
Also, in addition to the tone, you also get a visible toast notification on the screen and it also powers the screen on and at least on my phone stays on at that point. Really irritating.
Hope someone finds a way to disable it soon.
Maybe try using lightflow, there is an option for fully charged, and you can set either a quieter tone, or none at all.

I'd be surprised if it worked, but giving it a shot right now.
Didn't work. Still got the standard system notification sound and the screen turned on with the toast notification that the battery was fully charged.
I've never heard this notification tone. When I first got the phone and saw what smart actions were I set it up to go silent at bed time and resume prior to waking up.
Since I only charge the phone overnight I've never noticed this.
I can't remember when I started getting this, maybe the last update? But mine seems to only pop up when I turn my screen on after being fully charged. I get my notification tone and the pop-up fully charged notification.
Throws me off too thinking I got a text or something.
....lightflow is good choice....it is better app for notifications
...and diode on phq has too much of colours
I don't understand... Did this happen after the update?
I've never heard the phone make any sort of noise when fully charged... ever.
Lightflow worked fine for me as far as changing the tone. Sorry it did not work out for you. Did you get the full version or the lite version?

Lite version. Did you simply change it to another tone, or somehow disable it?
Changing it to a different tone doesn't fix the issue, unless you change set it to a silent mp3/wav of some sorts, and then you still have to deal with the full charge toast message which turns the screen on (at least on my phone)

I changed it to a different tone from my texts. The toast comes up when I check the phone, but to my knowledge my screen does not come on of its own accord when fully charged. I also have the paid version of light flow, but that should not make a difference if you can access that particular function (fully charged alert or charge status or whatever it is labeled.)
Solution
I had this problem too, and posted over at the moto forums, until someone asked the question "are you using the cable that came with the phone?"
after all the flame posting died down, I decided to try it. looky, ma, that dope was right! I was using some other charger, and when I used the usb cable that came with it and the a/c block plug thing, amazingly, it doesn't wake up anymore when it gets 100% charged. go figure.
Hmm,... I'm using the Motorola adapter and cable that came with the phone,...but I am using a USB cable extender in between the two..
I'll try it without and see if it makes a difference.

Charge phone from keyboard dock?

I really would like to be able to plug my phone in my TF300T's dock USB port to charge while I'm at work. We aren't allowed to use company computers or wall sockets. It charges fine while the tablet is on and slotted in the dock. As soon as you shut it or turn the tablet off, it quits charging. Is there any kind of mod out there that would enable this functionality? I have searched, just came up empty

So if the tablet is in STAND BY mode, it stops the charging to the phone?
Very interesting, sounds like a "power saving" feature. It may be editable via the kernel. i will look at the system files and system code but im pretty sure this is kernel controlled.
I just don't think this is possible without a super elesbb hack
You can try this solution, an app called screen standby, with this the battery consumption will be reduced since the screen light is off.

Wow, I would really appreciate it if you could find time to check it out! When I was searching, I found threads where they described the same behavior for other transformer models too, if that matters at all. No solutions though.

[Q] Erratic Ghost Touches

Has anyone had a problem with their nexus 5 where the screen would randomly start pressing things? It usually happens multiple times and is very erratic. Contacted Google and will send back for a replacement just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Yap, me too.
Had it a while back but it seems to have stopped.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Never anything like that but what I have done a few times is my palm touches the bottom right of the screen when I reach for the top left corner while right handing it. Coming from an iPhone so I guess it took a bit to get used to the larger screen
I requested for a replacement to Google Play this morning. They send it this evening. I should
get my replacement early next week. Good service I would say.
I'm glad I'm not going crazy! This is happening to me too! Is there any way to resolve this without having to go through the RMA process?
Only While Charging
I'm getting some erratic touch behavior, but only when the phone is charging. I take it off the charger and it seems fine.
I'm not getting total phantom behavior, but when I swipe from home screen to home screen, sometimes an app will get activated. Same with pulling down the notification area.
It makes me think there's a charge leaking through to the display components somehow.
I'm going to give it a week and then RMA it if it doesn't go away.
I have it too
I have it too but only when I connect my USB to the computer...
It's sucks cos I'm an app developer...
Is there any fix for that?

Sounds like a dodgy USB cable or port.
Same issues with my Nexus 4
I notice my issue is mostly when my phone is charging or when I'm using my mobile hotspot. Tends to get extra warm when im using both. Which leads me to believe its an overheating issue (the heat is throwing off the digitizer causing it to maybe think its being touched?) Is anyone else noticing the same?
Yes, but only while on wireless charger and even then only sometimes.
I take it off, push power button twice and it's gone.
I'm also experiencing this if my Nexus 5 is charging using the original Wall charger and cable.
Still no fix for this? Really annoying, I need to unplug my phone to the charger so that I can use it again normally
Same issue here

Wireless Charging Issues?

All,
I purchased the Note 5 from Best Buy, yesterday, and received the free charging pad. I used the charging pad for the first time last night while I was sleeping. I woke up a couple of times during the night and noticed that the charging pad was flashing blue and the phone was not charging. I pulled the phone off, waited about 30 seconds, then put the phone back on an it started to charge again. I did this three times and it always ended up back with the flashing blue light. Doing some research this morning, a flashing blue light indicates the phone is not placed on the charging pad correctly. I had try to make sure the phone was properly centered on the pad each time. Has anyone else been battling a similar issue? Thanks in advance.
Yes I had the same problem here and I think that's same solution fix it once I got it centered where the Samsung word on the charger is Horizontal with the Device and I get a good connection everytime

Thank you for the response. I have been messing with it this morning and it does seem to be ok if I really make sure it is centered. I guess it is just really sensitive with alignment. I will see how it goes tonight. With my previous wireless base, it would always have issues after the phone was on it for 4+ hours. I am hoping that is not the case here.
Yeah. I had issues with it last night. It started charging right when I put it on there but sometime right after I went to sleep, it must've stopped working.

I also experienced the issue again last night. It just stops working after the phone has been on the wireless charger for a while. It looks like wireless charging overnight is not an option . Has anyone had success with wireless charging for an extended period of time and had the phone get to and stay at 100%?
I had to turn daydream on. Mine would start flashing blue after the screen timed out. I have daydream set to activate while charging and no issues since.

You have to have something creating a small gap between the phone and the charger, I had the same issue and found the answer in some thread I can't find now. I just put a couple pieces of paper in between the phone and the wireless charger I guess because it works through some sort of electronic field the phone without a case sitting right on top is too close. Either way when I get my case the issue should be gone but put something there and that should do it, mine charges all the way now and it's fast.

Well, I picked up a case today and am still having the same issues .
My girlfriend works for Samsung, she told me the issue lies within verizon's software with the new note 5's, and they are working on an update. Mine does the same thing on a Samsung pad that worked fine for my note 4 with wireless case back. Apparently it happens every time the phone receives any kind of notification, I'm going to place the phone on airplane mode tonight to see if that works. Case/no case is not the issue.

That is interesting. I just stopped by a Best Buy store and talked with the Samsung rep. He said he has the same issues and thought it was a problem with the charger. Best Buy said they would let me exchange it for a different charger, but I may wait to see if an update can fix it. Thanks for sharing!
The problem is using it without a case. The charger is assuming there is a case and if there is no space between the phone and the charger it will stop charging after a few minutes because the voltage is too strong when they are too close. Put a few pieces of paper in between and you should be fine. Or get a case.

I no longer have the Samsung charger, but when I did, I could not get it to work even after adding a case and paper. I think some carriers seem to have more issues. I am on Verizon.

I'm on Verizon and mine works fine. It took me a few minutes to get it placed on the charger correctly but it works great. Also, I came from the s6 and it would charger as well but I would wake up with only 80 something percent since once it charges to 100 it stopped charging. The N5 however if it discharges to a certain point it apparently restarts the charging process.
Tried 2 of the Samsung wireless chargers and both had the same problem on the S6 Edge + and the Note 5. The Samsung rep at Best Buy said that the workaround is to put the phone in daydream mode. She said the Note 5 and S6 Edge + go into too deep of a sleep. She said to use the work around or we have to wait for the fast wireless charger to be released.
Has anyone confirmed that the Verizon Note 5 will not have the blinking blue light not charging problem? I haven't seen any OTA updates to fix this issue on Verizon like others have reported that AT&T did.
dja2k
No, I'm still having the blue blinking light on the samsung fast wireless charger (it happens a little while after placing the phone on it). Basically makes the charger useless for now until we get an update. It's a shame because I bought the official Samsung charger and I'm having to resort to plugging in my phone still.
Verizon has never been quick to release phone updates, so it is likely still in "testing" phase....
