It looks like the Google Voice and AT&T Visual Voicemail links are the same. I'm especially interested because I didn't know you could do Visual Voicemail on anything but an iPhone.
Thanks!

Golly, teach, don't I at least get partial credit for posting useful info on topic? If I can at least get a 'D' I promise to clean up my next paper before turning it in

B -... I wouldn't give an F out.
F would be for quoting a tutorial post with a lot of pictures for example.

I had visual voicemail on my old BlackBerry 9800. Been using Google voice for voicemail for the last year or so. The dictation isn't great, but I can generally get the gist of what the message is without actually having to listen to it.

[Q] HTC One S Case Help (and some thoughts)

i have looked on Amazon and could not locate any cases for this phone. Does anyone know where we can find some cases to protect this phone?
By the way, i am on day 2 and loving this phone. I have the unlocked version running on AT&T in Chicago. Getting great HSPA+ coverage.
(Coming from a Galaxy Nexus)
My initial thoughts of the HTC One S
-Battery life is great.
-Prefer this screen over the Galaxy Nexus (not sure why but it just seems more vivid).
-Love Sense 4.0. (Warning) While i love pure Android, i have always been a fan of Sense
-Like the new Sense keyboard
-Finally an HTC phone with good/clear earpiece
-Phone is super light and pocketable without feeling Sammy Cheap
- Like the social integration with contacts showing native facebook (missed this on vanilla ICS with the Galaxy Nexus....sorry...can't get friends to move to Google +)
- Threaded email.....how does native ICS not include this......
- Love the notifications on lock screen (I am also a iPhone user and this is a great feature of iOS 5).
So far no real negatives but its only day 2 with the phone. So far, I am really satisfied...i guess the only thing i miss is holding down the search key to get the voice actions.
Now....just need some help on finding a form fitting case for this phone.....

Best Armband for Skyrocket?

Hey,
I am a frequent runner (run twice daily 5k+) and I was wondering what a good arm band for my I727r. I am using one of those $3 arm bands from china with an added Velcro pad (cause it was coming off while I was running) but I am not too big of a fan of it. Is there any other ones that are better and possibly a different color then blue.
Thanks
I run everyday as well. I would like a good arm band for my skyrocket.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
I just use the SGS2 one (poked holes in the jacket for the headphone and volume rocker)
I'm happy with this armband, however it was not meant for the SGS2. The fit is a little tight and you can't really use the touch functionality through the screen because the size is off. I have Bluetooth headphones and lately it seems to skip more often. Might be the headphones though, don't know.

Brodit car holder

Hi
I have a Brodit car mount for my Galaxy Nexus... and I will be getting a Nexus 4.
According to http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-Nexus-4-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-specs-comparison_id36069 the Nexus 4 is only 0.76mm wider and 0.16mm deeper than the Galaxy Nexus ... so do people think you could make the Brodit car mount fit?
The mount is fairly hard ABS plastic - a bit of wet n dry paper culd shave enough to get the Nexus 4 to fit?
Based on the photos I've seen the USB charging port looks to be in the same position (dead centre, bottom)...
Has anyone else already thought of this?

I'm in a similar boat, I'm thinking of trying the Optimus 4G or the Infuse 4G cradle for my Nexus 4. Both are almost the same dimensions...
Got a reply from Brodit about the availability of Nexus 4 car holder.
----
I can gladly inform you that we are going to make holders for this Nexus.
We waiting for the unit to arrive, then we probably need a couple of weeks before launching.

I am using a free holder I got from the Confused.com driving mate app a while ago but only until Brodit release theirs. The windscreen sucker is ridiculously good but the holder is just ok. It does let me use the phone as a dash cam which is handy but it doesn't give me masses of confidence that it will hold the phone for more than a few months until the grippy pads and mechanism degrade. Also I want an active holder so I just slide it in instead of having to connect the charger separately.
Brodits are awesome and I've used one for every phone since my G1. Definitely beyond compare.

I have a Galaxy Nexus mount and the N4 does not fit. It slides down about 3/4 of the way and then gets stuck. I have heard that the Nexus 4 fits the Samsung Infuse 4g car mount according to a user on r/Nexus4.

Thanks for the heads-up! I checked the relative position of the USB socket on Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 and even if you made the Brodit holder fit, the usb wouldn't line up.

I have had a Brodit holder for my last three devices, whilst I love the way they fit I must admit I am getting a little fed up of having to buy one every time I get a new phone. I am thinking something like this http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=511165 (scroll to the bottom of this page for more info http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/tag/brodit-adjustable-holder/) adjustable holder will work. Then I can just set the right width when I get a new handset.
Any thoughts?

I am using an older universal mount from ProClip (US version of Brodit) and it works fine with the Nexus 4. I have used it with and without the bumper and with a little adjustment it fits just like their custom versions. If you can live without built-in charging then this is a great solution.
Between the universal mount, Bluetooth audio kit and the long battery life of the phone, I'm pretty much all set.

I've currently got the adjustable width passive one you pointed out and it works fine with the N4 in a TPU S-line case. Also used it with no problems with a naked N4 and the Galaxy Nexus I had previously.
There seems to be decent range of adjustment available so I can see it being well suited to support future handsets too.

[CLOSED] DIMPLE.IO - NFC sticker with four user configurable buttons

Hi XDA community!
My name is Richard Skrubis and I am the founder and CEO of DIMPLE, INC.
Me and my team has been working on a new product for the past 18 months, and we finally feel that it is (almost) ready for the prime time.
We will launch an IndieGogo campaign on May 6th. in hopes to make this product a tangible reality, someday found on retail shelves around the world.
DIMPLE is a small sticker with four buttons that you attach to
the rear (for some gadgets front + rear) side and configure the functionality
of those buttons to your own liking- for example turn on the flashlight,
take a picture, launch an app or call your buddy etc.
You can learn more here - http://dimple.io
Last month we received the first mass production batch of 250 prototypes + packaging, and are now actively testing them. We need user feedback to be able to fix any issues present in the current iteration and to make sure that the first big batch has no problems that we should have taken care of a long time ago.
We would like to expand our current Beta tester user base and would like to send out up to 50 DIMPLEs to test interesting use case scenarios.
If you get chosen to take a part in this- you agree to provide monthly feedback by filling out a feedback form till September 2014 and agree that we may contact you if we have any specific questions to ask about your experience.
If you want to participate in creating the final version of this product, please reply to this thread by stating your current device manufacturer and model. Extra details like if you use a case on your gadget or any other accessory that might be of relevance to us would be kindly appreciated.
We are looking for unique case+ device combos, devices we have not yet tested (we have tested most of the current and last gen flagship devices), or devices that are region specific.
Applications for beta testing DIMPLE are open till May 4th.
Thank you in advance! Any opinions on the product itself are welcome and I will try to answer any questions you may have in a timely manner. If you have any concerns or suggestions you would not like to share publicly, please PM me or contact me directly - [email protected]
EDIT: THE APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. WE WILL GO THROUGH THE REPLIES AND SEE WHICH USERS SEEM FIT TO TEST THE PRODUCT.
SORRY FOR LACK OF REPLIES TO THE QUESTIONS DUE TO LIMITED RESOURCES AND TIME.
Richard. :highfive:
Interested in giving feedback, running a Google Nexus 5. (we spoke on IRC)
I'm highly interested in beta testing this!
Moto X with a Supcase Unicorn Beetle case
Absolutely! HTC One with slickwraps case(?).
I'd love to help test!
I've got a galaxy s4 running 4.2.2, Jelly Beans ROM, And I also have a Hyperion 75000 mah extended battery that I use sometimes, I can test out how that does/doesn't work with it and try to find a way to work it. I switch between that and a regular battery with the S-View case or a cheap plastic clip on one.
Beta testing
Hi Dimple creators,
I would like to beta test the product for you, currently have a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7.
Please let me know if you would like my input.
pluck me
I ordered a pressy. ....waiting,... so yeah I love extensability
Samsung Galaxy Note 1 n7000, international version

and
Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition
I would like to give it a shot! Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII with Cyanogenmod 11 running. Naked; no case
I would be very interested in DIMPLE, as I'm annoyed of lack of dedicated buttons on a device usually.
My main problem, we could say, is self inflicted as I like to keep my home screen clear and I try not to use numerous screens, hence problem is that most of the apps I use daily are in drawer which slightly annoys me.
I already backed Pressy Kickstarter project.
I use Nexus 7 with Poetic magnetic case and Nexus 5 with Spigen Neo Hybrid case
P.S. excuse my English
I would be interested in beta testing as well! I'm running CM 10.2.1 on a VZW Galaxy SIII, with a case.
Just bought a Refurbished Note 3, which I use on the AT&T Network. I currently have UAG Aero Case for it. Not sure how it would work through the case, but I would be willing to use this caseless/or a thinner case. I am interested in integrating the NFC with Tasker as well, so we'll see how that goes
It would be very cool to beta test for you guys. I personally have a GS3 with a Zerolemon NFC-capable battery and their proprietary TPU case. The NFC functions great, I use it for payments when I can and to bypass the log-in steps on my bank app using Tasker (hold my device to my pocket—wallet has an NFC tag—and instantly see my bank account information).
Aside from the GS3, I have access to multiple devices (part of my job), which include: GS4, GS5, Note 2, Note 3, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, HTC One M7 & M8.
My personal device is rooted and runs SlimKat, while the other devices are constantly being rooted and unrooted with various stock and AOSP ROMs.
I think I could be helpful in testing and exploring the functionality of Dimple, and its potential for pairing with apps like Tasker are kind of exciting.
Awesome idea!
I'm currently running a Nexus 5 with about 4 cases that I switch off with (Spigen, caseology, etc).Currently running stock 4.4.2 + xposed framework. I often flash other ROMs as they update.
I would love to help you out with testing if your in the need.
Thanks.
Amazing idea! I am definitely interested in testing and purchasing this product. Currently running a Verizon Galaxy Note 3, I may use the Samsung S View cover with wireless charging in the near future.
Thanks!
EDIT* forgot to mention that I also have a Nexus 7 that I can test with.
I would love to give this try and help you.
Running stock on N7 (folding case) and stock + rooted on N5 (no case).
Interested in Testing
I'm very interested in test the product out, as well! I have both a Google Nexus 4 and an HTC One (M7), both of which I use with a case.
I would love to participate and help your product reach its full potential. Current Devices are Samsung Galaxy S4 Verizon currently stock 4.3 unrooted and a Hi Sense Sero 7 pro tablet with NFC. Good Luck to you either way.
Sent from my XT1034
Would love to be a part of this awesome project. I currently have a T-Mo Note 3 which would this would be perfect for because of its size. I use a third party back cover 'Bubble pack' otherwise it's pretty naked. Its running stock, though rooted.
Other devices are a Nexus 7, No with leather flip case and Nexus 7 with glass back case. Thanks and Good Luck guys!
Quick question, will these be coming in a variety of colors? Thanks!
I'm running a Nexus 5 and I swap between my Ringke slim case and my Spigen Neo Hybrid case.
I would really, really like to help test this
This is an interesting device I want to help you guys test. I have a Verizon galaxy s4 unlocked, rooted, running omnirom on 4.4.2 , additionally I have a zero lemon 7500 mah battery (it does have nfc) which I normally use, but I do also have several regular batteries I used to swap around. Also, I have a pebble which is almost always connected to my phone through Bluetooth. I also have a nexus 10 which is stock, unlocked, and rooted.

100% wooden case that covers all sides

So I saw this on my Facebook feed a couple days ago and they actually look quite good. I've only found one review video on the case but its for an iPhone. There are a few 5-10 second clips on their instagram as well.
The dimensions on the Pixel XL cases are: 6.382 x 3.282 x 0.453 compared to the actual phone, 6.09 x 2.98 x 0.33
site: https://kerfcase.com/collections/wood-cases-for-google-pixel-and-pixel-xl
insta: https://www.instagram.com/kerfcase/
iPhone video: https://youtu.be/IjYND5pOwTo?t=205
They also have 20% off with code: EARTH2017
I'm still deciding if I should buy one or not.. They are pretty expensive.. If anyone has this case can you show us more pictures and tell us your experience with it? thanks
Looks great. Thanks for the tip!
