Hey guys, I need to bring my phone in to AT&T for warranty on a defective screen but my phone is currently rooted with CM 10.1. The online AT&T representative said that since this is a hardware defect, the software won't make a difference but I don't want to take any chances.
Is there a guide on how to unroot and go back to stock software so I can still use my warranty?
Thanks!
All help is greatly appreciated!

Search for information on running an RUU. Also, questions like this go in the Q&A section not development.

Sorry I remade my post there. Mods please delete this thread
Moved to Q&A
If you're AT&T, you'll want to make sure you are S-OFF before running the JB RUU per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181929
Well I didn't change anything to my phone and brought it to ATT anyway and they still replaced it. They obviously saw that it was rooted and said for future reference they don't usually warranty anything when the software has been modified.
Anyway, now I'm stuck with 3.18

Hey guys just a quick question as to how i would go about bringing my phone back to stock from root. and if i do this, is there a way T-mobile will know it was once rooted? I want to do a warranty replacement, but i don't know if they would find out and end up charging me.

I appreciate any guidance.

Loading a cusom rom and custom Spl voids your warranty. If they find it on your phone, they will not honor your warranty. Your two choices are to send it back as is and hope that they do not check ( potentially expensive gamble .) Or to retun it to original rom and Spl.
Thanks for responding. How do I return it to my orginal ROM? Where can I find it and know it is what was on my phone. I appreciate your help.

I am sorry if this sounds insulting, it is not meant to be, but you just dove right in with no clue ? Flashed a custom spl and custom rom with no idea what your stock rom was or how to go back ? Or did you just upgrade with another Altell rom ?
Look here for the stock rom

It was not a rom that was cooked by someone. It was from the HTC website listed as an upgrade for Alltel Vogue. It upgraded the ROM and Radio to include evdo and gps. The rom is no longer listed on their website. My thoughts are to send it as is. Do you know if this type of upgrade would void my warrenty? I appreciate all your help.
if it's an htc rom, you should be fine.
Thank you for your assistance

Hi everyone i just got my xoom a few days ago and everything is running great. Currently thinking of rooting the device for OC and other stuff. But i have a few questions first, for those who are familiar with it please help.
1) I'm from Australia and bought the US wifi version from amazon, does anyone know if im covered for warranty?
2) Is it possible to reverse the root and lock the bootloader on the wifi only xoom yet? Remember reading that it wasnt possible yet before.
3) If i do unroot and lock the bootloader will Motorola still cover a hardware fault under their warranty (if i am covered)?
Thanks all.

1 Unless product has expressed international warranty and service support available in your country you need to send it back to USA.
Please confirm with seller about warranty(duration, etc)
2 moto dev website has official images and instructions(as these directly from motorola so no issues no hacking,etc.).
Just to confirm if i unlock then relock the bootloader i can still claim warranty even though i agreed that i voided the warranty when i unlocked it??

Yeah, Even if there was a way to see all the naughty things you've done with your Xoom, who would bother to look?
So I have the ATT HOX and have it rooted. I have NOT upgraded to the 1.85 OTA update. I was interested in putting CleanRom on it but Im a little lost as to what I need to do exactly. I keep reading of downgrading software which Id assume I dont have to do. But where to I go to unlock bootloaders and get customer recovery. Theres not a one stop shop in the dev section to know exactly what your looking for. Any help (mainly with correct links and or programs) would be appreciated.
