I really want to update it to 2.2 but I am facing a big wall ahead of me.
I read some threads here saying that I should use a software called Odin. I really dont know how to do that. Its not that i am a noob but it just doesnt recognize my phone and some errors in chinese appear
Can someone help me please?!?!?!?!?!?!

[Q] Adobe Flash for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 - how to install

Hi,
I hope I am in the right forum here. If not pardon me please since this is my first time on this site.
Here is the issue at hand...,
I just got my girlfriend the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 as a Christmas present.
I set it up for her since it was her first smartphone and it's all fine and good now.
However, there is a little problem.
I can't find a working Adobe Flash player on "Google Play" since it seems that Adobe has pulled the plug on that darn thing. Beats the heck out of me as to why they would do this but from what I could read on the internet it happened around August 2012 and now this thing isn't any longer supported for the Ace and some other devices.
Now the question is..., how do I get this downloaded and working on the Ace without having to do the whole circus with changing to custom ROM etc...? I would like to keep the original OS due to possible issues with the seller and the warranty (there is already one problem which is a faulty proximity sensor that actually has to be fixed under that warranty).
I am looking for a simple and clean install here. I don't have a problem with the security of the older Flash Player if anybody should ever wonder. I'll take this as a calculated risk (it's a girl's phone so I don't think it will ever wander to the darker corners of the internet, let alone that she knows how to get there).
So if there is anybody out there with a good idea - no matter how small or big - shoot right from the hip.
Thanks in advance for your time and kind help...!
PS. I stumbled upon this website which lists a solution for this issue but am uncomfortable with downloading stuff like this directly from some page I don't know nothing about nor what the apk consists of. Might be serious though but have no clue. Anybody with some input on this one?

Samsung Gear and GALAXY Apps Problems on Non-Samsung Device

Hello! I know this is only my second post here, but I've been lurking around since the original Motorola Droid came out. I'm not a newbie by any means lol.
Anyway, onto my problem... First and foremost, I am using a Google Nexus 7 rooted with DarkKat 4.4.4 and a brand new Gear 2 rooted with TizenMod 3.0.
I purchased a Gear 2 with the intention that I could pair it up with any non-Samsung Android device, with the assistance of a number of tutorials (one being backups for one another if the previous didn't work). I've tried every tutorial I could squeeze out of the Internet, but to no avail. I can get the latest version of Samsung Gear to install and run just fine, but no matter what I get stuck into a, "Connecting to Gear...," loop. I also have a Samsung account tied to my Nexus and was able to, at one point, get GALAXY Apps running. Yes, I went into the build.prop file and changed my brand and manufacturer to Samsung and model to GS-I9500 (also tried GS-I9195) and changed the app's permissions respectively. Also, just as an FYI, I am able to successfully pair my Gear 2 with the Samsung Gear app.
I've been diligently working at this, and only this, for 12-15 hours at a time for 4 days straight... I'm at my wits end with this thing. What really irks me is I can't set the date and time (on a friggin watch of all things), but good news is I found out how to at least sideload my custom widgets on it.
Anyone have some insight on this?
Bump.

Flashing Samsung Galaxy SII

Hello all,
I've been reading around this forum and found several guides for installing Cyanogen, but they seem to be made for you to install it on a previous installation, which is not my case, and I also have several questions.
First of all I have Samsung Galaxy SII (GT i9100)... i bouht it on Amazon, so I guess it's american. It still has the software it came from, I have never changed it. I've had several issues with this phone since it was new, like out of the blue I turn it on and it gets on a forever loop with the samsung logo. So everytime this hapens I have to wipe data and factory reset from the android system recovery.
Also about a year ago I got what I believe was a virus it took me a while to get rid of, but although I supposedly did, I feel like some issues are still around.
My question basically, what's the newest android version I could install in my phone? and how could I do it? what's a good guide for it or something?
Thank you so much for your help.

Newbie looking for help on rooting an old Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-I1497 (AT&T)

Hello to you all and thanks in advance for your patience... for most of you this may be "stupid" but I have so many doubts and I don't want to end up with a "Samsung Brick" on my hands.
1.- Device: Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SGH-I497 (AT&T) running Android 4.1.2 Base Band I497UCMF3 Build JZO54K.I497UCBMF3
2.- Background: Bought it new from AT&T and had it with wireless service with them for 3 years... ended the wireless service and kept using it as a WiFi only device. while it was still under contract it updated firmware a couple of times till it got to 4.1.2 since then when you check for updates always tells me "Current Software is up to date" that has been for the last 2 years pretty much.
Needles to say it keep running slower and slower at time passes by and newer versions of apps don't run as it should. Of course I have the "infamous" AT&T pre-loaded apps that I don need in it.
SEPARATE ISSUE: For sometime now it's working fine, then it tries to load something and stay like "buffering" and nothing goes forward... I found that have to manually disconnect from the WiFi and connect again and it starts working again. Rest of ten devices at home (Phones, Tablets, Playstaion, etc...) don't have problems.
3.- I have heard for years now about rooting and the PRO's and CON's of it... after some reading I feel that if done correctly that is my better choice to give some new and better life to my "entertainment pal" but same reading confuses a bit out of me between options and which ones works which one doesn't and which one is the right for me.
4.- I have found here this: https://www.xda-developers.com/root-and-recovery-for-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/ that then takes me to this original thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056
Is this still the right way for me ??? I never updated (or used) via KIES it was always on wifi.
Any pointers suggestions and "Dumb and Dumber" step by step guide will be really appreciated.
Regards
