[SOLVED]TF700 Sync issues/computer reporting storage as full - Asus Transformer TF700

I develop mobile applications using Adobe Flash/AIR for Mobile. Since the 4.2 update, I have been experiencing increasing difficulties synching my Infinity to any computer. When I launched Asus Sync, my Infinity would tend to disconnect after a few minutes. It would often disconnect while publishing directly to the device from the Flash IDE, wasting a lot of time.
The connection problems have gotten steadily worse. Today I have found that I am completely unable to publish applications from my work computer to my Infinity, either from Flash or from Asus Sync. Both report slightly differently worded errors saying that publishing/installation was unsuccessful and the device storage may be full. The tablet will never connect to Asus Sync on my computer unless I enable USB tethering, and even then will tend to drop the connection after a minute or two. However, that might be a problem with my workstation, as I can connect to Asus Sync (but still not install apps) from another computer at work. I can successfully publish AIR 3.5 apps from my coworker's computer but AIR 3.7 apps always give the error.
I have 10 gigabytes of internal storage left, so it's certainly not full. I can access the Infinity as an MTP device through Windows Explorer and I can transfer files onto it from there. I have USB debugging and installation of non-market apps enabled. I tried cold-booting the tablet but that didn't change anything.
Some help would be greatly appreciated. We are supposed to launch an app in the next few days and I suddenly can't test it from my computer.

OP solved issue. Was an Adobe Air issue.

[Q] USB Sync issue after NoDo update on Samsung Focus

I was able to update my phone last night to NoDo, and now I'm coming across a strange issue that I would like to know if anyone else is running into. When I plug my phone into mylaptop (using the same cable and same port as before the upgrade), Windows and Zune detects my phone is connected, and begins to sync my content. However, it gets to about 1% synced and then displays an error message about how the connection timed out. Yet, if I use WiFi Sync, my phone begins syncing, however it is taking forever.
Now, I do have a Kingston 32GB Class 4 MicroSD card installed, and the reg hacks to disable Power Management. I tried removing them and rebooting. Then re-adding them and then rebooting. No change in behavior. What I did notice was that as soon as the screen goes to sleep, a few seconds after that the message appears. Yet if I wake the screen, the Battery icon shows that the phone is still plugged in.
Can anyone else who has a similar setup as mine confirm if they experience this behavior?
So am I the only one?!?
You may want to post this in the Samsung Focus forums. I'm a Focus owner too but I'm not using a SD so I wouldn't know.
For whatever it's worth, I haven't run into any Wi-Fi Sync issues yet. Have you tried a different USB cable or a different USB port? Sometimes it can be as simple as that.
I don't have any WiFi Sync issues, other than it's slow. Looking at the throughput, I'm maxing out the bandwidth for 802.11g anyhow. I wish MS would enable 802.11n on our phones.
I tried connecting my phone to my desktop, and I was able to sync an MP4 video (over 1GB in size) with no problems. And using the very same cable I was using with my laptop. So, something is wrong with my laptop, and off to investigate it. It appears my issue isn't related to NoDo at all.
you hack your phone, sometimes you get bugs.

I had the same problem before NoDo, IMO it is related to USB ports. My guess is if you have all your USB ports in use, or even a device that draws a lot of power, it causes the transfer to be interrupted. I have my notebook on a cooling pad that draws power from a USB port, when I have it plugged in Zune transfers fail. When I unplug it transfers complete without problems.
I had the exactly same issue on all usb ports on my pc at home, where i connected the phone pre nodo(did the update from work)
My guess its a windows problem something that messes up the Zune Sync Driver. You can notice the issue with different usb port also with your mouse, if you de an re connect to the same port no driver installing happens, if yo de and re connect to a port where it never was before, some installation happens. Issue should be some where in there.

I agree with Phoneguy. I think it's your port. I've had syncing problems as well. I have never got the error you're tlking about. But I would have to keep plugging and unplugging phone to get it recognized. My issue I believe is with the mini usb connection. All of my phones (Tilt,Tilt 2,3125,8525) had a problem with the mini usb becoming loose, which makes syncing and charging a pain in the ass.
I almost had the same issue, but if your phone is hacked then it is obvious that there are bugs
Same situation. After Nodo, my focus just syncs for 20-30 sec average and then i have to unplug it and reconnect it several times to get 100% of the syncing done. Help appreciated. Thanks
i have the same exact problem. i have a focus with a 16gb sd card. so 22 gig total.
before nodo, i was able to fill the whole 22gb.
now, the sync problems starts when I hit 8 gig of TOTAL SPACE USED. Aka when the sd card is needed since I have 8 gig onbard my Samsung Focus.
I have some usb devices connected to the pc, i will disconnect everything and try again. ill update this post with the result.

[Q] WP7 Wireless Sync - Phone sends out ssdp ping, but doesn't trigger anything?

Phone: Samsung Omnia 7
OS: Windows 7 SP1
Sync through USB: fast and flawless
Phone connected through AC charger and wireless sync was setup without problem with the zune desktop software.
I am using zunedevices.exe tool to sniff for pings and stuff.
Actually, the phone appears as a network location under "other devices" with the name WindowsPhone:nameIgaveit but it doesn't appear to install any wireless driver (that should install, as far as successful syncs i have been reading about here)
Why do i want this so bad? because zune (music+video app) play counts does not update my zune card on zune.net. And I read somewhere that the device sends the playcounts when its plugged in AC and syncing wirelessly.
Already spent a good chunk of my weekend on this. Some help please?
I had a problem where plays on the device wouldn't have an affect on the play count in my local zune database or the zune social. It didn't work for a while, it started working, I hard reset and it stopped working again.
Anyway, I eventually used the Zune Media Collection Reset Tool and it has worked great since then. It will wipe out your current local playcounts though.
i tried what you suggested but it still doesn't work.
like i said, my phone registers as a upnp device, my computer just doesn't install the drivers for it. which is weird because in the same network but with my laptop, it does and it syncs wirelessly for me. :-s
EDIT: As my suspicion that my problem is caused by a conflict with another program/service grows, i went ahead and re-installed my OS. (i had so many installed programs, it's easier to just wipe completely as i didn't mind really) it works now! although i must say, play counts still does not move forward if i play through the music+video hub in the phone. hmmmmnn...

USB connection hell

I don't know what to do about this sudden problem. I've had my transformer since early May with the dock. I've never had any trouble connecting to any computer via the usb cable until this past weekend. Now all of a sudden it won't even show as connected when the tablet is connected to the dock.
So I tried it directly connected to the tablet and it will connect and come up on the computer but most of the time it kicks out after a little bit or when loading the files in a folder it just gets stuck loading and will not move so I can't move files to it.
I know I can transfer files with things like dropbox, but I move files every day and don't feel like fighting with the transformer for a half hour every day to get files where I want them when under normal circumstances I can move them in seconds via usb.
I tried calling support but all I got was a bunch of BS about needing to install all the software from their site which I actually did and it didn't fix anything.
Both computers I normally use are Windows 7 64 bit machines.
Anyone run into a similar issue? Any ideas?
Thank you ahead of time.
Try enable USB debugging.
Go to Settings --> Applications --> Development --> Check box for USB Debugging.
There's fews options you can (Do a backup first) try:
1) Reset to factory settings.
2) Format your microSD.
3) Re-flash the ROM.
Besides there's many ways to transfer files from Asus pad to PC.
Wireless Transfer.
FTP Transfer.
Wireless or FTP.
OP, sorry to hear about the issue. In the instances where you are able to connect via USB, if you leave it alone (don't' touch it), then can it complete the transfer? Since the Transformer uses the same connector to charge and transfer, I'm just wondering if the connector is physically getting lose or something.
When I had the transformer, I usually use the micro-SD card to transfer files. But that's just me.

Not to criticize your idea or be a jerk...but what does that mean? I don't think 1) wireless transfer and 2)FTP transfer counts as two different methods of transfer. That's like calling USB and "drag-and-drop" two different ways of transferring stuff to devices. Wireless is wireless, whether you're using a FTP protocol or just downloading using the browser.
Similar Issue
I had a similar issue when (but before) I rooted my TF. My Windows 7 64-bit machines wouldn't notice my device unless debugging was enabled and then I couldn't "safely" disconnect the device unless I disabled debugging.
I'm not quite sure what the issue is there but that is how I connect and disconnect.
Thanks for the reply. USB debugging was already turned on so I tried without it. No luck. I'm on hold with support again. If nothing comes from it I guess I will need to reformat. I never rooted so I doubt it's a rom issue.
As I was typing they said to download and install the latest firmware. I've kept this thing up to date, but I guess it's worth a try.

I got it to work one time. Every other time it just gets stuck loading the content of the folder. If I try to add anything it just sits there as it seems to be waiting for it finish loading. It's just so weird as it has worked perfectly for two months now and then all of the sudden it stopped working. I would maybe understand if there was an update or something but nothing's changed on the tablet or the computers.
I have the same issue with my usb and EVERY device. It all started when I updated the usb drivers with the nvflash certificate. Now when I want to use a usb device or my on board card reader I have to uninstall the general usb driver in the windows device manager, and for new devices. Only then will it recognize whatever I may have conected.

With wireless (using Wifi File Explorer), you just enter the asus epad (ip address) on the browser to download/upload/etc... files from your asus pad.
With FTP, you will need install ftp client on your windows to access files on your device.

Windows XP and newer versions already have an FTP client - Windows Explorer.
I use the free "Software Data Cable" app. It creates the FTP server on your Transformer, and gives you the address to type into Windows Explorer.
It works great! You can transfer files using your PC, which is a lot easier than doing it on the Transformer.
I haven't used the USB connection since!
Thanks for the replies. I think this thing needs to be rma'd. I just did a factory reset and it's still having issues. I managed to get it connected only through a direct connection and it won't even let me create a folder. It's getting a little late to do it now so I'll call asus tomorrow morning and get it started.

[Q] Problems with my new Infuse

Hello I just got the Infuse from AT&T and while I am liking the phone there are 2 major issues I am having and 1 minor one that I can not seem to find a fix for.
First when I try to use GPS the phone can see 11 satilites but it refuses to use any of them and will not allow me to use the navigator or any other GPS tools. I have installed GPS Test and GPS Status and both apps show the same thing 11 satilites visible, 0 in use.
Next when I connect the Infuse to my PC (Windows 7 64 bit) and start up the Mass Storage thing but my computer never sees the device. I do not have the pop up to view files and when when I go into my computer no new drives or devices are listed.
Lastly I keep setting a live wallpaper as my wallpaper but every few hours it resets back to the factory original background. How can I get the wallpaper to stop resetting?
I like this phone but these are pretty major issues that will force me to return this device if they can not be resolved...
GPS - How long did you wait? Are you on stock Froyo or one of the Gingerbread builds? GB provides major GPS lock time improvements, but has its own issues.
Win7 USB mounting - no clue. Works fine for me in Linux. (Except when running Cyanogenmod 7, but that's a known issue with our CM7 builds. I just used ADB for file transfers there.)
Live wallpapers resetting - No clue, I hate live wallpapers. My static wallpaper has always been fine. Sometimes if the launcher takes too long to init it will flake out though - if you're on a bone stock ROM (e.g. you haven't flashed an alternate kernel or an alternate full ROM), this might be another symptom of RFS being a horrible filesystem. ext4 conversion is called Voodoo Lagfix for a reason...
I have waited upwards of 10-15 minutes for the GPS to fix. I just had it fix when I was driving but it was all over the place, showed me driving down the middle of a river 100 feet away from where I really was for most of the time...
I have a stock ROM. I just picked the phone up on Monday night so I haven't had it long enough to do too much with it yet and I can't root it since I only bought it because I needed a new phone for my vacation this weekend and the GS2 isn't out yet. I will be returning this as soon as the GS2 hits shelves this month since it will be before my 30 day return window is up but I would like a phone with working GPS and the ablity to copy my files and put movies on it for that month... sigh I might just have to swap it at the store tonight.
As far as the Mass Storage problem some people are saying I need the drivers some people say I don't need them. I do not have them so I will download them and give that a try. Do I get them from Samsung or AT&T?
Typically live walpapers only revert when the battery is low.. its either 15 or 20%
The drivers seem to fix the not detected issue. They can be found in a number of places including here on xda. Search your model # drivers
Keep in mind that can also be a cable issue...or a usb port issue.
Are you using the samsung cable? Did you try other ports?
For gps...open gps test and hot menu.tools.manage and clear agps state
Then memu.toold.manage and download and see if that helps
There are some other tips here on xda that help as well, i dont have the links handy

Drivers shouldn't affect basic USB storage, only Kies and ADB connections.
If USB Mass Storage doesn't work it might be a problem with the PC. I know one port on my laptop HATES my Infuse. Constant USB disconnects.

Ok so the problem with the USB Mass storage is definitely a driver issue. I connected the USB cable to 3 PC's 2 of which were nearly identical Dell laptops all 3 had Windows 7 64bit OS. On the desktop and one laptop the device was not discovered and nothing happened. On the second laptop windows installed some drivers automatically upon connecting and the device was discovered without any issue. I then downloaded and installed Kies on the other laptop to get the Samsung drivers and after doing that windows immediately saw the device and again installed some drivers and I have had no problems connecting since. So it looks like the confusion over whether or not the divers are required is due to some builds of windows 7 64bit come with the required drivers pre-installed and some do not.
I have tried clearing/downloading new agps data 3 times but it still does not connect to the satilites it sees. I am at a loss there... it may just be a faulty device, I have read some early builds have GPS issues.

If you needed to install drivers, for some reason the device never properly entered USB Mass Storage mode (Maybe it went into MTP mode instead?), or Windows decided not to enable the Mass Storage component because it couldn't find drivers for something else.
Proper USB Mass Storage never requires a driver under any OS since Windows 98SE.

GPS: Root your phone and use fasterfix. My GPS locks on in seconds.
Mass Storage: I have no idea, mine works fine. I have W7 64bit too.
Maybe you got a lemon...because I would definitely say this is not representative of how nice a phone this one is.
I had the live wallpaper issue when I first got my phone. Turns out you have to move the live wallpapers from the sdcard to the phone to get them to stick.
From XDA App on Infused v2.1.0 OCed to 1.6 GHz

So, I've been here before.

My question is, what would you do in my situation?
My Xoom connected to my computer (HP Pavilion dv6000) (Windows Vista) once before in past times. It will not connect anymore, I have done everything possible that people have said to do. Still in the same situation.
I connected it to my mothers Toshiba Satellite U505-S2950 (Windows 7)after installing Moto software, and its working perfectly.
Should I re-install Windows/Re-set to default? I've tried everything, from installing drivers, to changing permissions, to installing adb, blah blah blah.
I just recently found DropBox which I am using now, until I can figure out exactly what to do with my HP.
Anyone? TBH: I don't want to use my moms laptop every time I want to transfer a movie to my Xoom, rather it be mine.
Appreciation is high.

So I guess you are using your original Xoom USB cable, and have tried different USB ports (like the ones on the back if you have a tower), you tried with debugging on and off, you've tried with the USB plugged into the Xoom 1st and then into the computer as well as the other way around...do you have Windows Media Player (9?) installed on your pc? It seems it needs it to connect....
Its not a solution to USB woes as I reckon I am in the same position with XP Windows machines, but an alternative.
Why not run a FTP Server on either your Laptop or your Xoom....
I doubt its as fast as USB transfer but may be quicker than Dropbox (definitely quicker for me in the UK with cruddy upload speeds !!!)
I use FTPServ on the PC and SwiFTP on the Xoom as the FTP Server - I just switch each one on when needed depending on which copy method I feel like using
I use Total Commander for the FTP Client on the Xoom.

Interesting idea...
This I suppose could be seen to be quite drastic, but it will fix 99.9% of all USB related issues across windows OS's

>Right click My computer and manage, you are using Vista? So will probably need to run as admin.
>Go to device management and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
>Ok delete the lot
>Yup delete the lot
What this means is that it should now prompt you to reinstall the drivers for any USB device plugged in to the PC, yes you may find that you have to unplug and replug in your keyboard and mouse to re-install the drivers for those devices. But it should also re-install the Motorola Xoom drivers also.
At the end of the days its quicker to try this than re-install Windows
Unfortunately not every USB Root Hub or Host controller displays what it actually is, some do but that's a case of right clicking each one to see what it is. If for example it states that its a mouse then perhaps don't delete that one but hopefully you get my drift.
