Since you have post this thread, i don't think i need to open another one.
I can give an offical introduction for you to update thread and also the newest rom we published.(We will fix the chinese hard string you metioned)
Featrues I'd like to talk about:
1st.Redefine the cm theme system so it is more suit for theme work, fix disgusting hard code.
I have done several representative theme like sense, GingerBlur, Meizu, MIUI, ics 4.0 and etc. More theme will be available as many ui worker of our forum take part in this.

BUG:
1, there are still stuck in the Flying Pig after restart boot screen phenomenon, the need to buckle up and down volume keys battery or power button to restart;
2, charging charging light not solve the long bright BUG;
3, there is color information of the telephone call, the pop-up color information, dial interface from the background of the (normal conversation), to pull down the notification bar and then click to call information bar will appear the call interface;
4, long talk, then (about 10-15 minutes), there have been automatically disconnected phenomena;
5, seems to operate smoother and worse .....
Recommendation:
1, the proposed name of the contact interface, the call does not contact picture display;
2, a key to a strong request for additional speed dial! ! !

not boot after flashed back the o2 kernel

I briefly tried this and liked it, but there is still a lot of chinese in it. Seemed very speedy and I liked the theme.

I've install Launcher Pro and I have to say it is very fast, stable and nice themed ROM. I like it Waiting future builds

Is it miui baser or cm7? Or brand new?

Well, it's a new third party rom based on CM7 source code, although its style seems like miui, but it is designed independently. It currently only supports DEFY, DEFY+, MileStone 2.

it is really hard to explain this. china's cell phone numbers in the same city have the same numbers in the first 7 numbers. so we can know where the number is from by the cell phone number. and this chinese characters show you the place the number from. however, it must mistreat foreign numbers...
i don't know how to shut it down

I install this ROM, changed language to english, reboot device and that's it. Where is no more chineese. Oh and I remove some app like root explorer and download it from market english language And sry for my english p

During the first Android app development, I noticed that, the USB Debugging turn off by itself occasionally.
And I will have to go to Setting to turn it off then turn it back on.
Meantime, I think the "Quick Setting" thingy in the HTC phones are really convenient. Would be nice if this is available to all phones. (and with the functionality to toggle USB Debugging!)
Personally, I use "Task Killer" and "Screen Off and Lock".
Why not merge all these into one?
The thoughts inspired me to built my 2nd application

My phone HTC Desire HD was running 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
I've upgrade it to 4.0.4 ICS this morning and did a quick fix to all my apps.
All are tested and should be working as expected on OS4+

well, it's an extension to the NavBar XD
do you mean that, long pressing on the search button to bring up a list of customised shortcuts?
btw, Long Press on the Search Button can also bring down the dE-Panel.

get_current_user() will return a user instance (nothing sensitive, really), and a "None" mean no user (user not signed in).
just that simple...
I've been testing with different Google accounts and had no problems...
don't think this is what causing it.

It should give you more than just "Faild to sign into google", most likely to be one of the exceptions.

I went to see how others do their log in and did a small modifications.
I've also checked the code line by line few times, and have placed more Toast.
hopefully this will cover all the possibility.

I learned something in the past 2 days.
1. though you are supporting old devices, use the newest SDK
2. once you switch to a newer SDK, many deprecated methods will rise, deal with'em.
I had my HTC Desire HD upgraded from 2.3.4 Gingerbread to 4.0.4 ICS.
Oddly, the deprecated methods/functions are still working.
For best compatibility possible, maybe someone decided to include the full library inside the phone?
I've been working on the compatibility issue in the past few days.
Now that I've checked my code line by line and had updated my library. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
Sorry for the annoyance.

Yes, it is. It is a official beta from Huawei server. I recommend factory restore and install.

I tried to update and it gives error, how is it updated?

Anyone successfully managed to get this running on their EVA-L09!?

I tried installing with update.app and three-button method. Installation halts at 30%. Luckily it reboots into system as it was.
Anybody found a way to install this update?

No, even with a link I've found for my version it's doesn't work.

Same here. Unpacked to dload folder on sdcard. Update failed at 37%. Iam on L09C432B180.

U need to unlock bootloader and install TWRP and flash it like update.zip but beware u might not be possible to go back if u upgrade.

I think u must be on l09c432b182 to upgrade. The the latest official one

I didn't like QB9 (Nougat) and rolled back to QA1 (MM Jan update). Turns out there is also QB1 which is the MM Feb update. Can someone share N920VVRS3BQB1 please?

I'd like to get that also but the only places I've seen it want $$ just to download it - some as much as $25.00. That is the version I've got on my phone (BQB1) but since I'm not rooted I don't think there is a way to get a copy. I tried to see if there was an update in /cache/fota with ADB but no luck (probably since it's not rooted). I know the BQA1 is easy enough to find. If I recall I did see one place that wanted only $1 for the download but I wasn't sure if it was a good download - never heard of the site and I think it was in a language I didn't know.

By the way - you were able to roll back from QB9 (Nougat) to MM QA1 with no problem ?

I managed to find QB1 via Google. Search for "N920VVRS3BQB1 Download Firmware – Samsung Update". It's on the first page. Hope it helps.
Using ODIN, I flashed QB1 (my phone had QB9) but it got stuck on the Verizon logo boot loop. I went into the custom menu and did a factory reset. It booted fine afterwards and it was QB1, not QB9. Today I got an alert to update to QB9 but I selected "Later". I want remove that prompt permanently. Any ideas?

This phone I have isn't activated but I still block updates using a couple things like BK disabler and Startup manager from this site: (no www) downloadandroid.info - it's half way down the page. Once installed go to the 'System' column and click on the plus sign on the right for "System Updates" and it will block it from startup up on your phone. I think there may be some other things to block with BK disabler like Samsung push service. Also there are some methods to just remove notification - Googling got this as a first hit:
Disable OTA Notification
Swipe down the notification panel and tap and hold the OTA notification card.
Now tap the info icon.
Doing so will take you the App notifications page for Google Play services.
Just tap the Block option to enable or disable update notifications.

Oh and I forgot if you don't want any updates I assume you know how to turn on "Developer Options" - just look in there and turn of 'Auto update system'.

You might want to be careful with some of the "apk" apps that you choose to install onto your phone from those types of websites like that and the reason I say this is because while you think you're installing an app to kill the OTA update notification, inside of that same apk is more than just the OTA update notification blocker there can be any number of other features included such as the ability of the person who made that app to download all the information from your phone, text messages, emails, calls and anything else they choose and they can even turn the camera on and you wouldn't even know it's recording you and listening to everything.. I'd stick with the Play Store really because they check for malicious code and apps whereas those websites don't care, they're just a hosting platform. The other thing is that, that app requires administrators access to the phone and that gives it the ability to do a lot more than you think!

Thanks for the advice on that. I'm not sure where I got it for my own phone but I normally upload everything I get to virustotal.com (which now also checks android apk files) where it's scanned by some 50 or more antivirus scanners. I also run CM Security which I believe is one of the best so anything that goes on my phone is normally fairly well checked out by the time it's installed. Cheetah Mobile Security scans it as soon as it's installed and while I know some people say you don't need AV if you are only getting from the Play store I have read enough stories to say that doesn't always hold true. That site I pointed ynag to was just the first site I found when I googled that App as I don't believe it was on the Play store. And it's good for everyone to have the philosophy of "intstaller beware"

Nope you do anything with that file coz it is just an ota not full ota , so you cannot flash manually

1. create folder named "ota_package" and copy file without rename into it (not work), if rename "update.zip" (not work too).

Every day I discover new bugs:
- at every reboot, the "exchange synchronization email" must be put back into PUSH
- at every reboot, the SIM call alert, must be disabled beacause does not remain set
- menus not translated correctly, i use the language in Italian, but some menus are in Polish? Or unknown...(in "performance manager")
- i have 2 sims inserted, when receive calls from the second sim the "phone" menu does not appear on the screen but I only see the graphic notification and the ringtone. I have no way of responding except with other devices such as watches or cars.
- there is no way to access the contacts directory from apps (whatsapp ...)
- there is no way to upload multiple photos in chats, there is no way to view the photo gallery correctly when selecting images, many times the chosen photos are not uploaded for "not found"
- the side menu, even if disabled in "game" mode, always appears
- absurd bluetooth! the first connection with devices always disconnects. example: I get into the car and connect the speakerphone, the first call arrives, I answer from the car and the phone disconnects the speakerphone and switches to the phone capsule, I have to press the phone icon and reactivate the speakerphone. Ditto with bluetooh headphones.

- the "call waiting" setting is reactivated at each restart, not resolved
- cloned whatsapp app, activated the first number, configured, I try to retrieve the contact in the address book, "not found", not solved
- call test on the two sims, for now the answer menu always appears, solved?!?!
- menus in "performance" not yet translated ...
