I have a Team Eos UMTS Jelly Bean ROM (now with nightly #103).
JB is a really huge improvement compared to any previous android releases. It's fast, smooth and it's a really pleasure to use it.
Unfortunately it can't be played for video editing purposes because there isn't any good video editing application neither in bundle with JB nor in the play store.
In the past, with Honeycomb and ICS, there where a Google video editing application (Movie Studio) but since nightly 84 Team EOS decided to remove it from their ROM.
As I need this program I'm trying to install it. Googleing on the net I found the original VideoEditorGoogle.apk. It's a system application fom Jelly Bean so I tryed to install it as a normal application but it doesn't install. Then I tryed to install it manually inserting it in system/app with Root Explorer, but even if I previously settled the write permissions it can't be installed.
So I would really need an advise.
Do you have any idea or suggestions on how to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot

I would very much like to see movie studio included in eos, since I record video on my phone a lot and need to edit it on the go on my Xoom, rather than on my laptop

I've seen this burried in several posts, but I felt it deserved its own spotlight. I flashed this with CM10 and have so far not had any errors, glitches, or crashes.

this is amazing, i have the camera/gallery and keyboard, now time to play with the rest of the new stuff.......
edit: i noticed that the issue that was prevalent in the earlier versions of the camera on custom roms where you had to tap the screen first to zoom and then take a pic to prevent hanging up has been fixed, at least on TW roms

keep in mind though. you dont get all of these said goodies
i mean i dont know what all else is in 4.2 i havent done my homework...
BUT you do get :
camera, gallery ( not the video gallery ), calendar, calculator, and help.
So does this work on verizon tw jelly bean leak?
also do I flash this on CWM?
Does the camera work flawlessly on.aosp jelly bean roms? By that I mean no more touching the screen first to take pictures and that nonsense

camera is flawless..just takes a little getting used too
new video player included with animated thumbnails of your videos
and the rest i mentioned earlier.
If I'm using synergy tw jb should I flash this for the new gapps? Or does that rom come with it already... Sorry. Forever a noob in this world.

clear ur cache's and then flash the zip.
shouldnt hurt anything..BUT make a nand for ****s and giggles.
I'm running CleanROM 3.1 (ICS) deodexed. I cleared my cache and flashed this zip. Now I'm having issues with Chrome (error message about some critical component missing and crashes), Clock (crashes immediately), and Gallery (crashes when I try to edit a picture). I rebooted into Recovery, wiped cache, wiped Dalvik cache, and fixed permissions. Same problems persist. I'm about to do a clean reflash of my ROM and forget about those 4.2 apps.
Anyone else having the same issues?

I may be completely off-base here, but it was my impression that the 4.2 apps were for JB roms. Can anyone verify/debunk?

Aosp is flawless?
i'm on Synergy R106 release, and the new 4.2 camera and gallery work great! love the sphere and all, and came with the rom.
HOWEVER: i have tried to install on AOKP and am missing something, as i can't get more than one picture before all hell breaks loose. well, not really all hell, but the camera FC's and locks up, and then get message that i can't access the camera. dirty flashing rom over it, or restoring nand fixes everything, but would really like to get it working on AOKP or CM10.
Can someone please confirm if this works on CleanRom ULE 3.1 or CleanRom 4.0? Greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Well guys, everything works perfectly. The gallery was a little flickery at first but things have since settled in. FYI it installs the normal AOSP "Launcher" so you will have two to choose from but you can always default to the TouchWiz launcher and create shortcuts to the 4.2 apps (Camera, Gallery, Clock, Etc).
My install procedure:
1. Reboot to recovery
3. Clear Cache (not sure if this matters)
2. Nandroid Backup
3. Install Zip from link http://d-h.st/wBX
4. Fix Permissions
5. Reboot
I assume this does not work on stock non rooted 4.0.4? The reason I ask is that I read in another thread that if you put the 4.2 camera .apk in the system/apps folder than you can get it to work. I can access system/app through file expert. Is that different than system/apps on rooted devices?

Updated Mega Thread
There's a newer thread right here on XDA:
[GAPPS] [ANDROID] [4.2] + [NEXUS 4] Mega Thread!! [NOV8]
It even has themed versions of some of the 4.2 apps.
Also it was updated today (NOV8), but I dunno if that makes a difference.
I wonder if I could make an aroma installer with choices for which apps you want to install, and fixes for keeping or removing duplicate apps?
I'll give it a shot.

That is correct. The Android 4.2 apps will not work on any rom based on android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). You must have a JellyBean (Android 4.1 and up) based rom to use the 4.2 apps.
Another note, in oder to get the camera to work on any rom you need to copy over the appropriate libraries to /systen/lib, the two that I have found usefull are as follows:
libjni_mosaic.so
liblightcycle.so
I haven't flashed any 4.2 app zip beacue I prefer to control what is going where on my device, so I only know that this works with a manual installation.

They work on TouchWiz VRBLI5 (android version 4.1.1). Even the camera.
I'm running my own cooked version of VRBLI5 with only root, bash, nano, busybox added. And the camera works fine.

Alright, just rooted my phone with PAC man Rom and the apollo music player is crap in my opinion. I'm surprised at how much I actually liked the stock samsung music player, so is there anyway I can have it installed onto my I535?
I read something about needing a touchwiz framework, but since the PACman ROM is three in one, I'm not entirely sure if I have touchwiz or what.
Thanks for the help.

You don't have touchwiz. PAC Man ROM is AOSP ROM. It is common knowledge that the PAC man ROM is an hybrid of 3 AOSP ROMs it says so on the post when you decided to flash it. That same post is located on the original development section which consist of AOSP ROMs and kernels made for both touchwiz and AOSP. Lastly if want the stock music player you would have to flash a touchwiz ROM as it requires the touchwiz framework to work properly.
Alright, guess that answers my question. Thanks for the help.
guys i need help, i have stock jelly bean 4.1.1 on my nexus s, and i wanted to have that black bean or inverted messaging, contacts and calendar for my phone, i tried using someone's help and i ended up restoring my phone twice, once i replaced the original one and then used twrp to flash it, but everytime it said messaging has stopped unfortunately need help regarding this please, if someone can help me get a few pointers how to replace my apps with inverted ones, hurts my eyes too since i have weak eyes
PS yes i'm rooted
Why don't you just flash blackbean or some other 4.2.2 rom that supports dark-toggled gapps and system apps? What's hindering you?

well because they're not probably as stable as the stock rom? is what i've read probably ... if it is then i'll give it a go, and i have twrp by the way, it's the easiest to work with in my opinion, can it be done using twrp? i've had bad experience with cwm
I am looking for a custom ROM for my Samsung Galaxy S II Plus (GT-I9105P) which is faster than the stock ROM.
I installed Liquidsmooth 3.0 and tested the speed and its working perfectly now. Its based on Android version 4.4.3. But the camera app is actually really bad; the pictures are always blurry. I guess something is wrong with the focus, because it works fine with the original 4.2.2 Samsung Camera App. I found out that I can't restore the app because Liquidsmooth (Andoid 4.4.3) doesn't support Touchwiz Apps.
Even the apps from the PlayStore are not as good as the old SamsungCamera App.
So here's my question: Is there a fast custom ROM (preferred a popular like LiquidSmooth) which is baised on 4.2.2? Or are there others who have also problems with blurry pictures in 4.4.3 and have a fix?
CWM 10.1.3 has a lot of bugs, like no vibration, so I don't want this ROM. LiquidSmooth 2.3 is baised on Andoird 4.2.2 but there is no Download Link for the SGS II Plus / doesn't supported? Or does the Phone model even matter?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!!

But isn't cwm a Rom created for more personalizing and not for increasing speed? I am worried that it's still slow or is it the speed compared to liquidsmooth?
Lollipop ROM runs on ART runtime, it's much more effective than Dalvik-based.
So far 2 weeks of use no lag at all, back when I was using Paranoid Android 4.6 or CM11 M12, there were some lag sometimes.
Battery life is more awesome than before. In previous ROMs, I don't use GPS and ended up like 30% battery by the end of the day.
With Lollipop, I use GPS 24/7 and ended up 30% battery by the end of the day too.

ClockworkMod recovery with SELinux support
Hey guys,
so I was trying to install the ROM but I got a "Status 7" Error which is caused by not having the SELinux support.
I was looking for the file for about an hour but I can't find it.
My CWM-based Recovery has the version 6.0.4.5.

There is liquid smooth 3.2 (4.4.4) fyi,. you could try the new google camera from the play store. There are other kitkat roms that are also excellent(sprit, axxion,PAC,PA) should you think Lolipop is too buggy, but you cannot installed touchwiz apps on a custom rom, regardless of android version.

Okay thanks a lot for your answer. I decided to update to Cm12 with Android 5. It's pretty good so far and the developers bring new updates very quickly.
