Can I download the stock samsung music player? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Alright, just rooted my phone with PAC man Rom and the apollo music player is crap in my opinion. I'm surprised at how much I actually liked the stock samsung music player, so is there anyway I can have it installed onto my I535?
I read something about needing a touchwiz framework, but since the PACman ROM is three in one, I'm not entirely sure if I have touchwiz or what.
Thanks for the help.

You don't have touchwiz. PAC Man ROM is AOSP ROM. It is common knowledge that the PAC man ROM is an hybrid of 3 AOSP ROMs it says so on the post when you decided to flash it. That same post is located on the original development section which consist of AOSP ROMs and kernels made for both touchwiz and AOSP. Lastly if want the stock music player you would have to flash a touchwiz ROM as it requires the touchwiz framework to work properly.

Alright, guess that answers my question. Thanks for the help.

RaverX3X posted an ODIN flashable 2.3.6 stock ROM in the Developer section. It's the same files that came from Samsung via Kies Mini. It is not modded at all.
I believe the OP is talking about Vanilla Android, no skins like Touchwiz etc...Airfluip's AOSP may be the closest visually, but to my knowledge there is currently no actual Vanilla Android.
Well the OP can always get a 3rd party launcher with an AOSP theme.

Vanilla Android, as I understand, is what is straight from Google and doesn't have customized interfaces or apps that the carriers put on the phone.

Exactly....
I thought vanilla is part of ics...
You can get raver's odin 2.3.6 and use fbi251's debloater to take out The T-mobile ****.

Ah, misinterpretation on my part. Was thinking stock, not vanilla per-se. Thanks for the clarification.
Vanilla Android = AOSP
with the way samsungs ROMs are built, we probably won't have a true AOSP rom, but Airfliup has done a pretty good job at making a ROM that looks and feels like AOSP. It's in the dev section, so check it out.
Thanks for all the responses guys. Yeah, im looking for a true vanilla rom and i tried using the stock gingerbread launcher but it seems a little laggy to me ontop of several roms that i have tried. You would think since the nexus s is so close to our family a vanilla rom would be easy to port over. Oh and do you guys happen to have a link to Airfluip's AOSP? I tried searching for it but came up with no luck. Thanks again guys

There really has to be something wrong with your search function...
Not to mention it is on the first page in the Galaxy S 4G Android Development section -
AOSP Style 2.1

[MOD][Request] Long-press volume button to change tracks

I tried following this thread from the EVO LTE forum to get get this mod working for the our phones, but after I pushed the modified android.policy.jar file to my phone, it would not boot up.
Any devs think they would be able to get this mod ported over? I know the Rezound forums and Galaxy SIII have similiar have this mod floating around. Will definitely donate for a working version.
Thanks.
Will be included in the upcoming CleanTOOLS mod I believe.

I actually flashed your ROM because of this feature - btw its a great ROM, good work!
Is there anyway to get it to work with google play music instead of the stock music app? Or is it strictly limited to the stock music player?
Thanks.

Help with Stock!

Hi, I'm currently using PA 3.15 and I need help getting the Stock Music Player, Video Player and Gallery from our Official Jelly Bean ROM. I actually pulled the apks from the MD5 and tried to install it by copying those to /system/app and then wiping cache and dalvik. But it seems to not work. I've also been flashing zips from the S4/S3. Apps like calculator and etc works but of course it is very small but the music player never works.
Can anyone help me out? The stock music player is the most decent one for our tablet. Thank you!
they are stock touchwiz, will likely be very difficult to work on CM/PA.

I do hope someone can help me with this. I'm really enjoying how smooth PA 3.15 is but the stock apps are just pretty much ugly (Google Music, Gallery).

[Q] Custom ROM, Custom Recovery & Custom Kernel

Hello!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070.
I just customized it from 2.3.6 stock, to Light JellyBean v1.2. I use CoCore-E-8.6.4 as custom kernel.
I don't know what to do, the phone is very slow. Sometimes it freezes for a very long time, it freezes in the menus, it freezes on google play, etc. Sometimes it's for a short period of time, but sometimes it crashes the whole ROM and the phone reboots... :crying::crying:
What should I do? On 2.3.6 the phone worked like a charm...
Please teach me how to make it better (4.1.2 of course). Tell me what is the best ROM, best KERNEL, best everything for S Advance i9070?
Thank you in Advance!
i found this

I also have Galaxy S advance I have used all custom roms. Always touchwiz roms lag
Our device has got stable cm10.1, cm10.2, cm11(wifi toggle buggy), omni rom, slimkat, carbon and many Rome see the s advance original development thread for more details
I suggest you to use cm10.1 or cm10.2. They are best and doesn't have single lag

I want to ask, if I install an AOSP based ROM, can I install afterwards some of the Samsung's "touchwiz" apps that really matter?

Thanks for the answer. If I could have done it, it would have been great. It might still work, if I find the apps in .apk, it might just work, like an ordinary app. Does S-Voice belong to Samsung or Google? That's the only app that I want, I think. And I have it in .apk. I also have AccuWheather and Samsung Apps in .apk. I would lose Kies(I think), but the software is crap, backup and restore works only 70%. But there are more softwares out there that can do what Kies does, only better. So, I don't know, it's something to think about...

If its only booted with twrp or cwm, what change did you make to make this boot and still have WiFi and I assume data? Maybe you should share in the all things general thread?
Disregard. This ROM is already posted there. I wonder how this one is compatible and we can't figure out why the others aren't.

Yup. This ROM was ported by Gogollie. This was built with a TouchWiz kernel, that's why it boots, it isn't real GPE without the GPE kernel. Just themed with some AOSP apps.

actually no 3.5 I have never ported. If its davy's ROM still its probably Stock International Wanam ROM Build with KNOX and other crap cleaned up with options to install AOSP apps by DSA creator of BlackBox another great Hybrid or its 100% TouchWiz with his Domination theme flashed over the top. If you dont know what Domination is in terms of a theme its one of the greatest themes ever made. I miss the option to go white with it sometimes tho. Its themed to look nearly identical to AOSP. Theres other Aroma options to MOD the ROM to act more like AOSP or install AOSP Apps like Calculators, Camera, and stuff. The Aroma installer is pretty nifty and lets you somewhat De-Bloat while installing it.
My newest ROM looks completely different and installs at half the size. Its also a minimal install / beast with speed and battery. I dont know its been posted here but you should be able to use it no problem. with safestrap just flash your modules to get wifi working. and if your at&T you might have to flash an apn patch to replace the apns from /etc directory with your own. or maybe manually entering them would work too. Its nearly all AOSP but yes in order to maintain good data signal, wifi, tethering, usb, etc I had to make a ROM over the TW so the Stock Kernel that most of AT&T/VZW has to run with a locked bootloader would be able to use these features of the phone with no problems. Theres also a "Smoke Weed Everyday"Nate Dogg Audio Clip during shutdown that I accidentally forgot to remove before releasing so if at work or school you might want to delete the file PowerOff.ogg from the /system/media/audio/ui folder you can also replace the file or PowerOn.ogg for startup sound with any mp3 or ogg file just rename it to that file name...

I've ran Purified for a long time on the 4.4.2, it's a TouchWiz-based ROM so it works with Safestrap just fine. It's using the Domination AOSP them package, it's a solid rom and I'm happy to see it's update I'll have to switch back.
