Here are some picks of this error on the screen. used to not happen at all, but started happening on android 4.1 by rashed and transfered to 4.2 some how (i did the wipe and stuff, so dont tell me all the basic trouble shooting steps all over again). The problem now happens like 2 times a day minimum. somethimes happens more often.

I think I hit a nerve. What about kernel as mentioned above? if that's not causing it, you might try something else.. like... change recovery, wipe the **** out of your device again.. or.. just use your hacking skills.

someone said they had similar problem with p506, I think it was split in bootscreen or something.. He solved it by changing rom. was a guy on bytecodes aokp 4.2.1 , build #1. he changed to jenkins I think, so this makes not so much sense
but maybe this does : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1120671

I diff'ed the source against the P500 source.
Practically the only difference is that the P506 has two framebuffer(?) drivers (novatek and hitachi) rather than one (just hitachi), with runtime detection of hw.
Relevant kernel config is CONFIG_FB_MSM_MDDI_NOVATEK_HVGA.
Since /proc/mtd is the same for P500 and P506, I guess roms and recoveries go through with just this display glitch issue, but it'd be great to have a proper one.
Does anyone know whether it is possible to just replace the zImage in CWM/amon_ra, or a compilation is required?

well, im p506, up their it sais 505. also, here is the rom im using
http://www.igottadroid.com/ModMarket/Listings/LGICS2064864.html
i am pretty sure its the same thing.
here is the edit:
after looking around the jenkins page, it is rashed who made that rom so...it is the same rom that im using and everything works great other than this one part. anyone else having this issue after using the rom for a month?
overcocking using interactive cpu governor
i also have that error when i try to over clock my phone on interactive cpu governor and set it on boot ....
try to use smartassv2
OK. i have been testing every single freaking build by rashed, and not only this, but most other cm10.1 roms that i could make work. but, it still happens, WHAT I NOTICED though, on the latest build from jenkins, when i overcloked to 658 mhz, the screen started doing the split and move thing again, but rapidly going back and forth, once i undercloked it back to 600, the problem persisted. and i had to go back to my back up cause the rom died, didnt rebot at all.
so i think overclock is bad, although on my current rom im at 790 mhz and no problem at all.

Best not to overclock on the newer 3.* kernels, so I have been told.
It is getting to be a nice hot summer. That 790 mhz can be a problem.
I went back to stock 600mhz, Smartassv2 governer. Did not notice anything much slower.
Anyway, screen-rippage is caused by overclocking. Had wierd stuff 768mhz, hot summer day ...

You install them the same way you install any ROM, through recovery. Just make sure the kernel is compatible with your ROM.

Sorry for being absent.
First thing you need is to Nvflash clockworkmod(CWM) recovery. You can find it in the application and development section.
Then either choose faux kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102720
Or the trinity(go for the T15 max for OC) kernel from this MIUI thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412046
Make a nandroid backup before you proceed flashing those kernels inn CWM. Read the instructions in both linked thread for the proper way of installing kernels/mods.
Good luck!

HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
Pastebin links preferred
Thanks to the community, and the developers!
Without them, this would not have been possible!

For you to test battery i'd completely charge for an hour past 100% and while off and turn on and drain it however and till it actually dies out or very close to it. then re charge back up to 100% again and next cycle should be plenty better, im sure you know that, but just saying.

Running On Samurai Tanto @ 100/1000 VR | Conservative w/UV. About medium brightness, no airplane mode probably would give me another hour or two on overall battery life and and probably another hour for screen on time.
I thought I could do much better but I guess if you drag it out with various usage all day it would last longer I got another screenie from 2 days ago I believe and got 4 Hours of screen on time but around a day for overall battery life and that was on Nightly 45 though

I have had nothing but problems with Tamcore on AOKP with my configuration, I think its more of a problem on my end than it is on his kernel. But I switched to CM9 and am running the stock kernel with no problems. My dad on the other hand can run AOKP with Tamcore fine, I don't know what the difference is. I've never tried open sensation so I can't vouch for that. What gov. are you using?
Ohh and BTW, if a mod doesn't get this thread moved soon, your going to get a new one ripped by all the 12 year old 'devs' who will yell at you because this is the Dev section, if they were a real dev they'd politley tell you "wrong section, try to post in the Q&A forum first, but heres the problem.." I don't think my particular problems are with your kernel but I think they are from my configuration. Like I said, my dad runs your kernel just fine but whatever I must do with system kill must cause problems with your kernel. I should have been more specific before I said "I have nothing but problems with TamCore" because at one point TamCore was the only kernel I ran because it was so smooth and had no issues whatsoever, its definitely more of a problem on my end, not yours.
Maybe. But the OP is just asking. He could get more help if he would tell us a bit about his settings.

so far no good it flashed but i got stuck on the cyanogen circle..... it may have been my fault for more than one reason
i DID NOT wipe cache, cause i was on magicmod and tried to just upgrade, prob the culprit
recovery locked up on me directly after i opened justinbeanaroma to install inverted g apps, but i didnt reboot first, so could have been that
i installed through cm10 recovery, and there was no recovery after i installed this rom, so i think the data files left from no wipe may have either messed with this cm10 recovery, or this one doesnt have one
i had to rds back to 2.3.6 and just got back to leak 1
im gonna root real quick and install through bootstrap and ill let u guys know whats up
hashcodes name is on this tho, so i think i messed up, and i think this might still work....
edit..... gotta charge up a bit first in case i gotta rds back again lol
hope you will success! waiting for your reply.
ok guys im stupid.... see the "kexec log" at the top? this is for safestrap, explains y theres no recovery and y im stuk on the cyanogen screen again.....
im gonna re rds again and try this with safestrap, only cause theres like 80 roms on this site lol
ill keep u guys updated

Have we got a kexec for our A2 ??
any luck daavis ??
EDIT:
The crackflasher forums dont show a Atrix 2 subforum
Do you guys know who make this rom
and why there is no thread about it in xda?
(I found that link in a chinese website.)

ok folks after a bunch of crap, feeling like a noob for a few hours, then cunsulting with the master of masters mr jimbridgman (next time i think of him or someone smarter than me first.... lol) heres the deal....
these roms are a test so to speak, and as far as i know none of them work, not cause they are faulty, but because kexec is not working properly on our phones, you can install it, you can wipe install and everything else really cool in a custom recovery, but the clincher is, when you try to boot the "safe system" the phone just hangs on a black screen.....
however.....
as a recovery tool only, safestrap isnt bad lol...
so the greatest question of all, can we port some of these to run without safestrap.... ill look into it.... must be possible...

It is possible, if you include kexec and the kernel files in the right location in the ROM that is built from this, then the phone will boot fully, and do a soft reset with the new kernel. I am not too sure that even that will work well. I have not had much luck with kexec in ICS yet. I had it working on GB and even was able to boot my early CM7 builds, but after an update in MAY that stopped working too. So.... good luck.

edit: ok so this time it made it through "android is upgrading, then it soft booted.... and got stuck at the cyanogenmod splash screen.... im close i can feel it lol
hey daavis, i had sent a mail asking whether this is in fact for the A2.. Got this reply..
Aniruddha:
My apologies for not having the appropriate threads set up ahead of time. CrackFlasher is still quite new, and the three users that moderate it, all have very busy schedules.
Please find the below threads that deal with your device. And yes, this is for the Atrix 2.
I believe you will need to use SafeStrap developed by Hashcode to flash these Roms, as for we just build them from source, but do not have a valid device to physically test on.
These Roms are development Roms, as in stock [branch] compile from source. Feel free to use these Roms as a base for Custom Rom Development. We would love to see your work, or other's, on CrackFlasher.com.
http://www.crackflasher.com/forumdisplay.php?47-Atrix-2-Development
Thanks again, and feel free to become a member and join the community. It's a slow building one, but we all do have one thing in common. We're all CrackFlashers.
Have a good day.

no, not yet, these build are not ready for users. Someone set these up for auto-builds, that works with hashcode. Hashcode said that they do not work as of yet. I would not use these or even try unless you have some dev experience.

im about to give her another whack, after finally ( fedora 17 doesnt speak well with my video card, ubuntu [eh' i know noob build, but lets face it it runs nice and has tons of documentation] decided it didnt like my wireless card [ ok so it decided to fail installing the firmware and after hours explained to me what was wrong] ) getting my m1330 back together, and running effin wicked fast again, i need to know what files i need to play with to get my little cm build booting....
jim what would you expect was the culprit if she soft boots after building any cache? the log wont show anything through cm recovery, is there a log i can pull through adb or something that will bring a beacon of light to my daavviscm10build dreariness?
Hi guys,
First I must begin by saying that I am not a developer. However, using this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008) thread, I have managed to "port" Android L to the One, though I have no clue if it even boots. There are a few problems that need to be discussed:
1) AOSP ROMs are around 400 mb? This one is 900+ mb.
2) When I was zipping the ROM, I saw Prism.apk was also in it, and a heck lot of other HTC related things.
3) Will the current kernel for KitKat work smoothly on L?
Anyway, this is my first step to being a potential developer and hope you all get excited for this. I do have one request though, if I can get a few devs to work with me on this, we can get to new heights on our One.
You can download the zip I created here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4JA1Kc3xlxiZUw2XzNzM1NKMVU/edit?usp=sharing

Can you attach the Build.prop file?
If you're going to post it at least try it yourself first man, this could brick everyone's device.

Did you miss the [Dev-Only] in the title? Every flash on your device could brick it if you aren't careful, nothing unique with this build. If you don't want to risk it, don't flash. Simple as that.

But as far as I remember, I did not do anything to it. The base ROM that I used was a stock deodexed Sense 6 ROM and the port ROM I used was the system dump from Android L, if that helps.

Okay fine, all I'm saying is there's already a thread on this in the general section so its almost pointless to post something else if it hasn't even been tested or is just like the other. There's already work being done on this...

Im not a dev just a general user but I don't think we should be creating these types of threads if you don't know what you're doing. Let the real devs do their work if it was as easy as following a copy/pasting port guide every device would already have a l build. Just be patient and eventually a nice dev will maybe make some magic happen for us.

This ROM will not work, period. The reason is because you did not follow step 1 of the guide which states quite clearly:
"Take any clean CM9, AOSP, CM7, CM10, CM11 ROM which is running on your device as Base ROM."
Now, don't know about you but I do not think a stock deodexed Sense 6 ROM counts as any of those mentioned in step 1... that is why you are seeing HTC things in the ROM.

no man, you can not do this because we have not a base for L! so it should be ported compiling source and fixing bug and issues...is not a thing that you find in a guide

I think your best bet would be to download the Nexus 5 sources and then do some "patchwork" with HTC One libs and whatnot, when needed. The good thing is that they are both at the same resolution and have similar specs.
And after you're done with that, you should be able to build with a couple of adjustments to various build-related things.
EDIT: Also, there will probably be issues with kernels? so you'll have to work through that also.

You can't be patching and copy/pasting libs. No zip modding when it comes to porting big base changes
You'll need to decompile and redo your ramdisk etc. And like jonny said you can't be using sense and gpe parts

Android L Keyboard in Play Store
I just wanted to note that there's a third-party application "Android L Keyboard" by Shen Le in the Play Store which I've been using on the latest CM11 nightlies that works great.
I understand that's not the point of this project but I just wanted to make sure other users are aware. Also, it's kind of scary to have to trust that a keyboard from the Play Store isn't logging and reporting your keystrokes but that's another issue entirely... anyways I added a screenshot, good luck with the project!
:good:
