My phone cannot get my current location.
I turned on the GPS and Wifi. At location setting, I ticked "Google's location service", "GPS satellites" and "Location & Google search". The location service still does not work. It keeps on notifying me that "Your location is temporarily unavailable". Please help.

it seems like the "Use wireless networks" in the location settings does not work properly. Enabling it then going to either google mobile page or google maps and waiting for about a minute results in retuning an error message about being unable to determine my location (roughly), anyone else having the same issue ?
by the way, using GPS satellite works flawlessly
got my 9020T updated OTA to 2.3.6 few days ago. since this update i'm seeing the 'network location service' always active under 'google services'. network location service used to live under maps in 2.3.4 when activated. i have 'wireless network' positioning disabled in my settings but the service is still running under its new found home.
does this mean we no longer have the option to opt out of continuously sharing our location with google? or my update got messed up somehow?
There are a lot of settings for location, and I'm not sure what each one does . Can someone explain them to me please, and what each one would be needed for?
Here's a very in depth explanation, hope it helps

Credit to torgo on the Verizon wireless forum:
1. VZW Location Services: *Uses Verizon cell towers to triangulate your position, pretty accurate.
2. GPS: *Uses GPS satellites, should be most accurate but in my experience isn't very reliable unless you're outside.
3. Google Location Services: *Uses a combination of IP address and wi-fi access points to determine your location. *Least accurate, but usually reasonably close

The Google location access toggle is to allow Google apps to access the information provided by location services (so things like maps and navigation work).
I tried to force enable Google Now with various methods found on this forum to no avail. After going through all the hoops I still find the frustrating message "Google Now requires location services which are not available" and "Location Reporting: Not available in Sudan".
Quoting from Google support:
"Location Reporting will only use cell ID or Wi-Fi location detection depending on your device."
Is there a way to spoof cell ID or Wi-Fi location to make it think I'm in another country?
This is a weird issue, if you select battery saver as the method for location services it will not work unless you have wifi on or scanning on. Battery saver users WiFi and mobile networks to determine location. On my other phones I didn't need wifi on as it would user my mobile data to give my location. Not looking for an accurate location just something close so I can receive weather alerts or traffic reports
Sorry that I am not clear what you mean "select battery saver as the method for location services". My location service works fine even if I have disabled WLAN when I have a walk every evening.
