Invisible Shield - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Just to let you guys know that I got an invisible shield for the S4 (front only) a couple of days before launch.
fitment is perfect and covers the screen up to the point of the sensors at the top and home button. I initially wanted the one allowing a skin but given that I use the cover with the hole, this was pointless.
Also the brodit car holder I am using clips from the top where the shield does not cover so it's perfect.
Not much else to say but if anyone was after one, it's not a bad purchase. Obviously still comes with the 25 year warranty on it too.
As for feeling, yes bare screen is lovely but I personally prefer the slightly matt/textured surface as it helps type and grip better than the slippy glass surface.
I have taken a pic but you can't really see anything so I won't bother uploading unless someone does want to see.

I also picked one up. Something that should be noted is that they sell different versions. The one I picked up was the HD which was supposed to be smoother than the regular one. It isnt as smooth as glass by any means but it is considerably nicer than the older plastic ones. There was also a privacy version to prevent shoulder surfing.
I will eventually migrate over to the tempered glass I think. Waiting to hear some reviews on a good sticking one, I hate bubbles or anything of the sort.

Ah yes good point
I think there are about 4 or 5 variants. I have to say and please don't let it be an insult to yours but HD had the worst of reviews. While it was more "glassy" like, it was also more thinner and was very easy to scratch.
I went for the original and so far despite a couple of rubbings at the gym, it's still mark-free.

never did like the clarity of these things. they kind of make the screen look like it has ripples. i like the regular old screen protectors.
that being said xtremeguard.com has essentially the same product for like 80 cents each i think with the promo code 'coaster'
i bought some as backups cause they're so cheap

I just noticed after my last post that I do have a bunch of soft scratches in the screen protector. None that touched the glass of the phone but still you can see them under the right light.

This is called Orange Peel and Zagg is infamous for it.
I got this sp on launch and now a few days later it looks like I've had this phone for 2 years. So many small dents.
My spigen screen protector and case come tomorrow, cant wait to rip this crap off.

I bought the invisible shield extreme. There is absolutely zero orange peel on this model. It is also crystal clear. I had a few people who hate any screen protectors comment on the clarity. It really looks and feels like there is no screen protector. The extreme is a bit thicker, but it does not effect any aspect of how the touch screen functions.
I owned the original invisible shield on my last 2 phones. I will say that the orange peel was pretty ugly. They did work as advertised though...

Do you think the Extreme is worth getting over the HD? And does the Extreme work with a case?

I can't comment on the HD. It is worth getting over the original. It does work with a case. I just got my Seidio Active yesterday, works great!

Thanks. Well.... I guess I'll have to decide on my own whether to pay the extra $10 for the EXTREME. Wish it was cheaper.

Well, I ended up getting both and gotta say the Extreme is definitely worth it for a couple of reasons:
1. It is thicker so there is no worry about cases pushing up on it.
2. It comes out smoother and clearer without any air bubbles, but you have to wait longer for it to even itself out.
3. Easier to apply, especially with the rest of them attached to the silly new packaging.
4. More protection obviously.

Zagg hd all the way! It looks and feels like nothing is there. No orange peel rubber feel. Plus the same easy wet install.

I got the zagg extreme for $15.

Ghost Armor Impressions

I've had my Nexus for less than a week now and I'm absolutely loving it, I think it looks great and I don't want to cover any of it up with a cheap looking case. The gorilla glass had me thinking I could leave the Nexus naked, well I was wrong. After only 3 days I somehow managed to accumulate multiple fine scratches on the back panel above the "Nexus" branding. I love the look and more importantly the feel of the phone that I won't even consider the official bumper so I decided to try the Ghost Armor protection.
The "full body" protection cost me $45 installed at my local mall. Installation took 30 minutes and I had to leave my Nexus with them for that time (scary I know). I was told that if I have any issues within the first week I can come back and get it fixed, after that its always $5 replace the front or back protectors if they peel, get scratched, etc...
Compared to the Zagg invisible shield I had on my Nexus S this is much better. For one the Zagg was "rubbery," had "orange peel," and the edges of the protector were visible (I think because the Zagg is thicker).
What I like about the Ghost Armor is that the front and back of the device the protectors are practically invisible. I feel like I have a much better grip on the phone. More importantly the phone doesn't slide around on tables anymore (i've already had it slide off my nightstand and desk). Also the phone attracts much less fingerprints/grease and that is a huge plus in my opinion!
What I don't like about the Ghost Armor. The multiple pieces that protect the sides of the device are just ugly, the protector gives the matte finish a glossy look that I hate. Even worse, every corner has a good 5mm gap that is unprotected, this I can't understand when corner drops are so common. As a result I am considering removing all the side protection. Also, after installation the phone cannot be put in tight pockets similar spaces until the protectors have settled and all the air bubbles dissipated so for the first 24H you really have to baby the phone. Lastly, the screen protector does not wrap extend to the tapered edges of the glass, edge swiping still works great but you can feel the protector.
Overall I am satisfied with the Ghost Armor. If you are like me and enjoy a "caseless" phone I highly recommend it. Let me know what you are using and how satisfied you are with it, also if you've got any questions.

So the crystal clear has no orange peel? And and how easy is it to clean fingerprints? I'm using BSE and it barely attracts fingerprints if at all but it has a rubbery feel to it. I just want a crystal clear protector with no fingerprints . Pictures are too small on my phone sorry. Also someone mentioned the matte, how clear is that? Is there a lot of pixation from it or is it clear?

Yes crystal clear and no orange peel. It is very slightly rubbery but my fingers slide over it just fine.

Basically this:
I have the screen protector on mine in conjunction with the ringke slim. I like that it doesn't cover the curved edge or else the case will lift the protector. I had a ghost armor protector on my s3 and my galaxy Nexus and loved them. Doesn't have that bad of an orange peel effect and feels great.

Based on your review, I took a chance with it. There was a very small price drop on it, so I ended up paying $40+sales tax. Really like it better than the Zagg. They didn't take a long time to install it. No orange peel. Not too rubbery. It does take about an hour or two for the air bubble to dissipate. But once the time passes, it's clear.
They do sell them without installation so it should be cheaper that way. I am way too chicken to try to install it so I pay for the extra bling bling.
Now I have my Nexus 4 with the Ghost Armor and Poetic Bumper case. :good:
I too got this and I must say it was worth the money. Expensive but it looks crystal clear and attracts a lot less prints then dry protectors. Plus you can't go wrong with the lifetime warranty

[REVIEW] Halo Premium Anti-Glare/Matte Screen Protector

Promised to do a review on this screen protector, so paulo this one's for you. Haha. Well I've had this screen protector on for about 4 weeks now, and I absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend it, especially for those on a budget. A $5.95 well spent.
Pros:
Dry application
Precise cut outs
Great touch responsiveness (Swyping with this bad boy is a breeze.)
No fingerprints
No smudges
Better visibility in sunlight
Looks sexy lol
Cons:
Took me 2 out of the 3 protectors to get it on right, or without bubbles. Maybe I'm just not good at that.
Screen quality degradation (This is expected with a anti-glare/matte screen protector. There is some pixelation, which is really noticeable on white backgrounds.)
You can but it HERE.
Pictures that took me forever.

Thanks for the review. I already ordered mine and just wanted to check out some more images of it. Out of curiosity, what case are you using? Also is there a notice gap between the protector and the lip of the case? The first few images make it seem like it, but the rest make the gap appear small.

I'm guessing you are taking about the difference between this picture of the screen protector:
vs
Well there are two reasons.
1. I didn't apply the screen protector perfectly. You can also see the little bubbles created by dust left on the screen. So I took it off, and tried again.
2. Two different cases. I doubt this affects it, however, considering I switch the cases out per week and the gap between the screen protector and the case doesn't increase or shrink.
I have two cases. The white one the Mercury TPU Nexus 4 case(comes in many different colors), and the black one is the Acase Superleggera Pro Hybrid dual layer Nexus 4 case(also comes in different assortments).
I'm also using this screen protector and I love it too, great price ya can't go wrong with these. ????

I bought this screen protector 3 months ago but never used it, as it looks like a hassle to apply if it takes going through most of them to get one that is applied properly. I just kept the stock plastic protector on mine; maybe after that gets destroyed I will give it a try.

its pretty simple just be quick, and i would day do it in the restroom, less dust in the air. always works for me.
I've installed countless screen protectors for me and friends. For the wet ones, you definitely want to be in a steamy bathroom as that helps settle the dusts. The dry ones, need to be done quickly. You can slip a small piece of tape between the screen and the screen protector to grab some of the dust. The stickiness of the tape beats the static force created by the protector. Not sure of its technical name.
My silliest method was to put the phone in the middle, on top of a fan blowing air upwards. That way it created a space where dust will not be. It worked perfectly.

I mean, I guess there is. But to notice the bubbling you would have to nitpicking or looking in with a magnifying glass (not really). I'd say the bubbling on the side is about .25 cm from the edge. Really slight, and with my case on you can't notice it.
Slightly off topic, but what case is that on your N4 OP?

First off it's a very nice slim case that protects all sides of your phone, it has a small lip so it does offer a lay on the table design!
The sides also have a nice feel to it, it's a bit slippery but not as bad as when you're using the phone naked.
The volume and power buttons are super responsive.
The back tends to leave a bit of finger prints, however it wipes off easily.
The camera cut out is perfect, and is recessed. So for those of you who are worried about your lens being scratched, this will protect it!
The top headphone jack port cut out fits all my headphones, so there are no problems there.
There are also cut outs for the IR Blaster, and even a cut out for a phone strap.
The bottom USB port cut out, does not fit all USB connections. I've only found that the Samsung fits, my generic brand ones will not fit.
Let me know if you guys have any other questions, I'll be sure to answer them!

I purchased mine from BestBuy. I'm pretty sure you can get these from the Samsung site as well!
As for the material, I believe it is TPU plastic, you can bend it and it's a bit flexible.
I've had this case for a couple days as well. Out of all the cases I've had for all the recent phones (S3, Note 2, One), this is BY FAR the best case I've ever used. For those who aren't looking for something seriously rugged like an Otterbox, this case is stunningly good in every way. The material is TPU, but it's very different from any other case of this material I've used. Exceptionally high quality.
-TPU material much higher quality and very different than anything else on the market.
-Grip is very good. Only case I've come across that balances grip and slickness so perfectly. Back is a hybrid between matte and slick but not slippery. The sides are a bit more rubbery, matte and textured.
-Buttons are exceptionally responsive for a TPU case.
-The biggest strength of this case is ergonomics. It just feels perfect in the hand. It's curved perfectly in the right places making it supremely comfortable. The sides have enough flat area to give good grip. Before this I tried the Spigen Neo Hybrid, and imo it defeated the great ergonomics of Samsung phones. By making the back completely flat, it just didn't sit naturally in the hand. The Samsung case is maybe slightly thicker than the Neo Hybrid, but it looks and feels a lot smaller.
-I've got the same Navy color as kodath. It's a very dark blue, looks black in a lot of conditions. The sides are even darker and you can tell it's actually blue and not black occasionally.
I just cannot say enough good things about this product. It is of very serious quality and perfectly executed design.
I bought mine from Staples for $30. Free shipping to store and arrived next day.
Hello everyone,
I did not see too many things posted about the Official Samsung Protective Cover + so i figured i'll chime in. I had it on my Note 2 and I liked it, I figured I'll pick it up and see how it is. Just got it earlier today, and so far so good!
I got the Navy Color, and as you see it looks black in certain angles.
I picked it up at radio shack (they had 3 different colors [white, light blue and navy] ), staples supposedly has the navy, and offcourse the official samsung site:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-I545ZWAVZW-accessories
For full size pictures go to the album: http://imgur.com/a/gaGE4#0
And some pics I snapped of the other colors at the store.
Got mine today. Best case I've ever owned out of any phone. It's perfect. Clearly. Samsung made the phone. And the case. They wouldn't fail.

Nice looking case, looks like it fits great. I like that blue color. How protective would you say it would be for minor drops (taking out of pocket, getting out of car and forgetting phone is on your lap and it hits the ground)?
Would be good for small average two to three feet I'd say. I use screen protector as well. It has a decent lip so it doesn't sit on the screen when you put it face down. It's not bulky. But it protects. I just don't want to test it over my head face down. Who would?

Usually those stores have a 30 day return policy, order from Samsung for 50% off, wait till it comes in and return the one from store. Win win!
Got the light blue version of this case today. Very nice case. The fit is great as you'd expect, and it keeps the phone super slim. Buttons are very responsive in the case. As far as protection, it looks like it would protect in a small drop, but I wouldn't want that to happen over concrete.
Even though this case was nearly perfect, I returned it simply because I wanted black and also because the back scratched easily. The fit and button feel was excellent though, and it didn't interfere with my glas.tr
Didn't notice this on the site and just got it. I got the SGP Neo Hybrid now, works good looks good but its just a little too bulky for my liking. If anyone wants it I'll sell it for $20 shipped, about 3 days of use on it.

Spigen Neo Hybrid worth it?

I saw the Spigen Neo Hybrid case for the Galaxy S4. I read that there were some issues with previous versions of it for the S3. I was just wondering since some of you guys have one... Does it protect well? It just seems that it wouldn't protect the phone well enough. Also are the buttons too sensitive?
How does it feel? Is the back of the case have more of a plastic feel or rubbery feel to it? And is it worth the $30?
One more thing... I read that tempered glass screen protectors are good. I saw that they were about $30 and I don't really know. Are the normal plastic ones okay?
Thanks.

Could you explain why?
I had the yellow neo hybrid case and returned it to amazon after ten days. The auxiliary cord in my car wouldn't fit, it was rather blocky feeling in my hand (I'm a male with normal sized hands). The main thing that made me return it was the chipping of the glossy coat after ten days, and I have NEVER misused or dropped my phone.
It looks awesome, however.
I decided to just get UAG, probably going to be better for my needs than the neo hybrid was.

Buttons are extremely easy to push. Whenever I am taking it out of my pocket (business slacks) I always end up pressing buttons. It makes the phone uncomfortable to use. I kind of got used to it but after switching to a tpu case that has rounded corners you don't miss the neo hybrid in your hands. The back feels like matte rubber not grippy at all. I never dropped my phone in this case so don't know how it would hold up. The incompatibility with most micro usb cables pissed me off too.
With that said it does look good I actually had a few people ask what kind of phone that was and complimented the case. I like having my phone feel safe in my hand more than looks I suppose so I haven't used it in a few weeks
Ive had it in my cart for a few days now and cant decide if I should get it or not, 30 bucks isnt too bad but I already paid that for my sview case and I dont want to have one or the other laying around but man it looks nice as hell
absolutely love mine. I use it with the Glast.r (however you spell it lol, it's late) and one of their aluminum home button pieces. Such a nice setup imo.

Thanks.

got it and i love it also got a cheap knockoff on ebay from china for cheap but the quality isnt there although it works. The Spigen works great if your looking for a cool protective case for your S4.
obviously if you drop it from a few stories it might not protect your phone as a otterbox but you get style and just everyday protection. You have to ask yourself what kinda protection you want for your new device and how prone you are abusing it.
I love mine cause the buttons are easier to press and it adds a certain weight to the phone I thought the s4 was too light. Plus the jellybean buttons feel awesome. Only thing though makes it look like an iPhone! Ain't nobody got time to be an iSheep!

i have both a slim armor and neo hybrid. imo the neo hybrid with a tempered glass solution (mine is MIME) and an aluminum button is pure class. i thought i'd switch between the two cases but I have a feeling my slim armor is just gonna sit around and not get used
Looks and build quality wise the Sgp Neo Hybrid is stunning - no excess material anywhere and an excellent fit. But ergonomics and protection wise it is not so good. There is barely any lip to speak of and the main camera lens is only about 1mm away from the surface you place your phone on. The squared off design also makes the phone uncomfortable to hold. I have slung mine in a drawer and am using a UAG case which although not finished as well seems much better for protection. I do not think the Sgp case is worth 30 dollars when you can pick up a UAG case (including a screen protector) for only 5 dollars more.

My friend got one, and he thinks is pretty awesome tho there is a big problem with the aux connection for bigger aux-cabels
I love mine, the onl down side is I had to buy a different dock because the oem samsung wouldnt work with the case. Its ok though cause I got a sweet one from Rok Form that adjusts to any case. Ive had it for 3 weeks now and no chips or anything so if people say theirs chipped its because they dropped it. 30.00......worth it.

I've been reading that a lot of people are complaining about the color flaking off with minor use. Any signs of that for you guys?

[Review] Tempered Glass Protector

Touted on the listing, as well as on the packaging, as an "Explosion-Proof Tempered Glass Protector" .... explosion proof... really?
Anyway, I thought I'd get one of these protectors for my Note 8.0, as I have and still use a similar product on my Note II and from many hours searching, the only place I could find one for the 8.0, was on Alibaba, never bought from there before and was slightly dubious at first, but thought I'd try it out.
I was quoted 30 days delivery, but came in 10 so, nice surprise.
The packaging is fairly decent, and it too came came well packaged, put it this way, I'd have been extremely surprised if it were to have broken in transit.

Inside you get some kind of alcohol wipe, a microfiber cloth and the protector of course. I also got these 2 "Raised stickers" I have yet to discover what purpose these serve, I at first thought they were to be placed next to the rear camera, to stop the lens touching a surface when placed on it's back, but it's not quite thick enough for that. So for the time being, they're going to be stored quite safely......... in the bin lol.
Unlike the usual flimsy protectors, this has cutouts for the ear piece, home button but NOT for the camera, The fact it doesn't have one for the camera, doesn't concern me however, as it doesn't appear to give any adverse affects when the front camera is in use.
Fitted and is simply excellent, feels like your using a naked tablet. No slight scoring when using the S-Pen (as I suffered with cheap eBay flimsy protectors) and generally feels like there's a lot more longevity to be had out of it.
Pros: Real easy to apply, in fact it was far easier applying this than a normal one.
Great feel, feels like your using a naked device.
Crystal clear, you don't know anything is there when looking at the screen.
Downsides (Or things to consider rather): The thickness of the "glass" (I'll get on to that "Glass" in a mo) means that the home button feels more recessed than raised once in place, but this is the case for most hard screen protectors.
Now the glass, or rather the material it's made of, I can't work out if it is actual glass, or plastic perspex? Are they calling it glass for simplicity, I'm just not sure, not that I'm bothered in the slightest, it does what I wanted it to do. But I'm sure they'll be some nitpickers out there wanting proof that some bloke made this by melting sand in a Furness lol.
Update:
Link to the protector.
Really nice.. I used zagg screen protector for Note I and Note 10.1.. never again. I've been using my Note 8 with no screen protector but this one I might try. How much is it? Could you post a link?
I use the XGearlive tempered glass protector on my SGSIII and love it. They provide a small stick-on plastic raiser for the Home Button. These guys haven't figured that out yet one supposes.
Might have to look into this. Got a link?
Found this one. The one you used?

Just had that light bulb moment haha, I forgot to say at, first I was slightly concerned about buying through Alibaba, I made an account, i went through the checkout, then I left it and went searching elsewhere.
The seller must get notified if someone goes through the checkout but doesn't complete, because they sent me a message asking if something was wrong, I said the price was too much, a bit of haggling back and forth, and I got it about 23% cheaper.

Had that light bulb moment when the previous person enlightened me as to what is for. Never seen it before and no reference to it was made in the instructions.

ISmooth also has a great screen protector--probably not a strong as this but between my note 2 and note 8 these have really helped. Amazon has them and they are really easy to apply.
can you please post the link to the item? It sounds nice, but I cant find it anywhere at all for the life of me

I was referring to the item in the OP, not the ismooth, as that's just a plastic film cover from what I can tell in the listing.

I think those stickers were your raised home buttons. I like how they copied Spigen's Glass.t installation instructions in the description.

Pulled the trigger and bought one. Anxious to see if it's as good as the XGearLive I have on my SGS3.
Counting the days for the proverbial "Slow Boat From China" now....lol!

Actually, no. I followed the same steps as you described when you ordered and didn't get anyone inquiring if there was an issue. So I just went ahead and ordered. Got confirmation of shipping yesterday. The countdown is on.....
Ahh man, perhaps you needed to leave it a bit longer, because when I added it there was a day or so that I left it after adding it to my basket and getting to the part where you pay, they sent me an email asking if there was a problem etc, etc...

I'm particularly interested in it's oleophobic qualities. Can you tell us if it really resists fingerprints like a naked screen?
All my phones are naked coz thats the best anti-fingerprint surface ya gonna get. However for the Note8, I had to get a screen protector because of the constant scribbling on it

I am interested with this also. The "naked" screen actually HAVE the BEST anti-fingerprint surface. I have the Note 1, S4 Active and now Note 8.0 and the screen resist fingerprint far better than any of the CLEAR screen protector / tempered glass out there.
However, since I use the stylus, I am afraid I will scratch the screen, so I am looking for a screen protector / tempered glass that:
1). Does not affect the responsiveness of the stylus
2). Resist fingerprint like the original screen
