Before a flash I factory reset, wipe system, boot and dalvik and call it good. I couldn't ask for a smoother system.
Not knocking your method. I'm sure it's great.

I hate to be "that guy" but wiping a partition multiple times is pointless. This isn't a magnetic hard disk. It's flash memory. The erase command takes care of the data.

If things are force closing a lot it's cause of some mismatches. Fixing permissions most if the time solves that problem. It's UID/GID mismatches or something like that.

My phone has been completely f'ed all day. So far ive restored 2 times. Ive tried to start all over by downloading infused than installing gb rom (the order in which i did it the first time) but when i go to the gtg section i get a pop up saying contact dev. I than used the roms from my sd card. I flashed infused 1.x.x, it flashed fine but all of atts crap apps were still there. Next i removed voodoo folder and flashed gb rom, that flashed fine, seemed anyway. When my phone rebooted i thought it was all set besides the fact i had no notification pull down and no status tools up top, att apps still present. I did the updated gb non rainbows update when it came out but that wasnt what i just flashed and i have no idea where its at. Im lost and pissed.

This is one reason I don't use ROM Manager - I keep multiple backups of anything that might be important.
Cool, as far as my other issues go with flashing, should i download new roms when the link is up? Not sure why the ones on my sd are so messed up

For some reason this caused my phone to go screwy, I wiped the cache partition and dalvik cache and then flashed the zip. When I rebooted my phone started going haywire after it booted up. The screen went black about every other minute and acted as if it rebooted or something with all data being cut off during the time of blackness and a media scan occurring immediately thereafter. I tried rebooting, re-wiping the caches, and eventually I just wiped everything and started over. After my system was set up calibration seemed to fix the screen rotation lag. I am guessing this was an isolated incident, but I'd recommend just trying the calibration first to anyone with the rotation lag.

My problem is when I flash the newest liquid ics mr3, my stock camera always force closes, and sometimes it will work but the front camera will take pics upside down, also when I try to use camera zoom fx the picture will have distorted color lines at the top of the picture. Is there any fix to this. I'm tired of 2.3.7 lol. Thanks in advance!

Make sure before you install, you do a full wipe. Wipe data 3x, cache, and then dalvik.
Flash and enjoy.
And if the problem persists, run a fix permissions.
And if that still doesn't work out, let us know.

More than likely to sell more phones though I won't say HTC is completely innocent. This OTA should have been out about a year ago.
As for the formatting part.. yes. format cache, data, and dalvik but they forgot to mention it never hurts to format system. A Factory reset does not touch the system partition as that's where the OS resides. If you don't format that as well then you're just flashing one rom over another leaving extra files that could either conflict with the rom or flat out cause Force Closes.

Heads up, you don't need to clear cache or dalvik when flashing a kernel. The kernel doesn't use either of those.

Thanks. I haven't been doing that for a long time now (had read it somewhere on xda). The problem is noobs like me who complain about issues all the time and hence I think standard practice has been to suggest a wipe when flashing kernels.
Heck I don't even wipe data when flashing similar ROMs (say CM7 based) .

You need ext 4 support for trinity, so touch CWM won't work. Go to the previous version.

Also, don't get it from his thread. Go to morfic's site, derkernel.Com and then choose to view the "old site." Under g2x you will see a listing of kernels. Im using the t15 Max oc kernel. I heard his elp (extra low power) builds are great too
Edit- even though wiping the caches may not be necessary, i feel cleaner when i do it lol. Just personal preference i guess
