I9003 Motherboard Replacement - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Ok..so first off, this might be a noob question. i lost my imei (no efs backup) and the service centre guys said i gotta change the motherboard.
So i was thinking...is it possible to replace with the i9000 motherboard? Or any other alternative to improve the phone? Thanks

i9000 motherboard in i9003? Sure! Just remember to change your screen and digitizer too..

So ure saying its possible?
Sent from my GT-S7562 using xda premium

its not possible.but u can change ur motherboard with 16 gb version of i9003.since there r 2 variants of i9003 i.e(4 gb and 16 gb).

Hello, I'm new, I would like to go deeper on this topic because I've a very similar problem:
My I9000 motherboard is broken, I found an i9003 motherboard, but since I read this post I didn't buy it.
Isn't it possible to adapt one lcd assembly to other's device motherboard ? The connector seems the same, is it possible that also interface is?
Is it possible to find somewhere pinout of both kind of screen?
Maybe the main problem should be on the lcd firmware?
Thank you and sorry if I wrote noob questions

ok, was a noob question, sorry for that.
I found some schematics of both phones and saw that the LCD connector is a HDC300 on I9000 and HDC900 on I9003 with some differences between them.

Edit:
Okay friends. Found a supplier laptopscreen.com
The issue is, there is no manual or video guide available. Did anyone successfully done DIY replacement of LCD or digitizer? Is it required to remove the PCB s and components for detaching the LCD from digitizer?
Any info appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. But my friend is not much rich to bear that much. So, I have to.
Anyways, i'm from Dubai. I asked Asus and they charge almost equal to the price of a used tablet here. That's Dirhams.1300=~$350.
So looking for some online supplier. I have some knowledge to fix it myself. Just need the LCD.
I found only one on eBay but that's costly also

Your almost better off buying a new unit, my man. Unless the lcds from another asus model is compatible, which would most likely be the 700, which would be the same price.
****t id be hitting up that indoor ski resort if i lived their.

Change the title of your thread to reflect your wish to purchase a bricked, non returnable unit for the screen.

I looked at it closer and that ribbon has about 50 small wires running the length of it, so there's no way I can solder it. The ribbon is wired into the blue PCB, and the whole assembly runs about $50. Not worth it for a phone I intended to use only for testing ROMs.

I also tore this piece on my motherboard during a digitizer replacement now no wifi,Bluetooth or volume buttons. I am going to replace it (30$ on eBay). Im hoping it solves my problem. I was also wondering should I reflash my rom after a dissasembly?

I can't speak to that part. I got this phone from a friend who shattered the screen, and I couldn't even flash a Rom because of the sorry state of the digitizer.

[Q] Galaxy 2 Plus Touchscreen rev 1.1

Hi everybody.
A customer sent me a galaxy s2 plus (gt-i9105p) with cracked glass, so i bought the entire display and touchscreen from the bay.
When i plug the display to the GS2 plus i notice that the touch is detected about 1 cm down-right from where i touch the screen, googling on internet i read that the problem is that the display they sent me is for galaxy s2 instead of galaxy s2 plus, so i diassembly the display again and noticed that in the new one display the is the rev1.1 sign, and in the original one there is rev0.0 sign.
Did they send me the wrong display or there is a way to make touch screen work properly??
Thanks and sorry for bad english.
Nobody knows anything?

u can ask this op http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419638
because this phone relatively new,no one yet replace the screen. only the op on that thread successfully replaced it.
hope this can help.
Thank you very much!! It's driving me crazy !!!
You can use most of the parts from S2 for this phone. The problem is you need to get the exact revision number of the part you want to replace. So, you've posted the answer in your own post

Thanks a lot Corduroy!!!Just another question: so there isn't a "software-way" to make tochscreen work?

[Q] Help - I fried My S3

Ok, let me start with what I did. I plugged my S3 into my car, via the micro usb, and when I did, the screen went black. Tried using the power button, but to no avail. S3 would not turn on, no led, no boot up, Nothing. Took S3 to local phone repair shop and the informed me that the motherboard / main board was shorted out in two places. What caused that?
My real question is, since they said they could not repair my S3, what are my options for getting it repaired? Send to Samsung? Are there other repair shops that can fix my S3?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice given.
