LCD broken - Need info/guide on replacement - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Edit:
Okay friends. Found a supplier laptopscreen.com
The issue is, there is no manual or video guide available. Did anyone successfully done DIY replacement of LCD or digitizer? Is it required to remove the PCB s and components for detaching the LCD from digitizer?
Any info appreciated. Thanks
...:..................
Kept the tablet TF300T in my car back seat.
My friend sit over and broken the LCD. The touch panel is ok, which I checked with hdmi out. Do someone know where shall I find a replacement screen from any reliable source?
Any bricked tablet if available for sale is welcome for my purpose.
Thanks

Thanks. But my friend is not much rich to bear that much. So, I have to.
Anyways, i'm from Dubai. I asked Asus and they charge almost equal to the price of a used tablet here. That's Dirhams.1300=~$350.
So looking for some online supplier. I have some knowledge to fix it myself. Just need the LCD.
I found only one on eBay but that's costly also

Your almost better off buying a new unit, my man. Unless the lcds from another asus model is compatible, which would most likely be the 700, which would be the same price.

How much T-Mobile charges to get the screen fixed

I have PHP plan wondering how much it cost to fix the screen and are their any cheaper places. I check T-Mobile can't find it and I never used a third party. Has anyone used any other company than T-Mobile? Thank you for your time and all help appreciated

PHP is insurance. They send you a new device, not repair yours. I dont remember the exact pricing, but i think its about $120.
Damn I rather just have the screen repaired oh well. Thanks time call them any idea how long it takes

They say 14days and your deductible is $130.

Not sure if this will do it but it may and its only 70$.

Edit: After thinking about it, you would need the LCD not the touch. I did not see any but if you look a bit harder then I did you may find them. But let us know what you do.

I talked to one of the reps and they said the only way they could change your color is if your original color is out of stock /:
Idk I know standard insurance with a defective product you have to send in the older model. Idk about going through asurion if I pay $130 they should send a whole new phone.

Screen replacement

Hello xda community!
With an unfortunate drop from my high up bed, my g2x's screen cracked.
Thankfully the entire screen still works just fine.
My question is, does anyone know where I should go to have my screen replaced? Or if anyone knows a good way to replace the screen?
Any help and suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Well if you have the time and the skill. Do it yourself. Fleabay has them for $50..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Touch-Screen-Digitizer-LG-P999-Optimus-2X-Star-NEW-/170671183951
I have replaced a few smartphone digitizers now and it is not that hard. Just watch a youtube video and get the right tools on amazon for cheap. I would say the skill level is 6/10.
or you could pay double that for a company to do it for you and be without a phone for a week or two...
I have a dugutuzer for sale. Brand new. Its not hard at all. Took me 20 minutes. Pm me if you want it. Ill even send you the tools needed.

In my area, if you look at Craigslist, there are so many people that offer cellphone repair services. Try Craigslist.
Amazon sells a replacement kit for about 60 dollars it has the tools and screen. I did it in under 20 min.
Just search Amazon buddy and then search YouTube for a video on how to take it apary
Nvidia always!

Wassup Bluzmeister this the one that bought the mother board off you email me at [email protected]
The only problem I have with doing it myself, is that I have tried replacing the screen on my old mt3g slide and ended up screwing up my phone, and had to throw it away.
After that, I don't feel safe doing it.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
Thankfully I found this thread and went the Amazon route as well - $54 and about 30 mins of prying a few stubborn glass shards off the frame later my g2x is working flawlessly.
I'd even go so far as to say this new digitizer is a little more responsive than the original one!

Haha I know how you feel with the mt3g slide. That one is impossible because one of the slidescrews got stripped for me. Thankfully I had drill bits handy. I just replaced my aunts g2x last Monday and it is easy if you buy the digitizer with the bezel, that way you don't have to worry about prying the glass. Difficulty is like 5/10. All you have to do is take your time. If a 17 y/o can do it, so can you

I just bought one of these for about 23 dollars same seller. I replaced it but the digitizer does not work as good as the original. It is not as accurate to the touch and hardly works at all with a screen protector on it. If I had to do it over I would get the one mounted to the frame. It worked like the original.

When you call into AT&T ask for the number to the warranty department. They will ask you a few questions to determine if that's the right department you are looking for. Just say you charged your phone and it no longer turns on. Eventually after lying a bit more you will have a replacement device on its way to you. Works for me all the time and have never failed yet.
They say all kind of things to scare you out of it, but nothing ever happens. I don't know if it is just my luck. I warranty at least 3 times for the year just to keep my phone looking brand new and I send it in working perfectly fine.

If you wanna keep karma intact call Samsung and ask them how much it would be to replace the digitizer. If you don't believe in karma just flash a ROM to it from another Samsung phone. Bring it to ATT store and say WTF my phone just stopped working.
Lol thanks rapstar I can definitely give it a shot. Here my thing jyazzie that your correct they don't warranty hardware breaking so by my son dropping the phone voided the warranty. But here my thing I have had other providers and they always warrantied at least one accidental replacement and for 199 I could just go and buy something else like a galaxy note. But seriously 199 for a phone that is on the do not sell list lol. Thank you all for the help and feed back. But I'll see if my work will let me get one temporarily.

I'd try to brick it through Kies, tbqh. Can be done without the screen on if you restore to 2.3 in ODIN. It's a risk that they see the digitizer and have a "WTF" moment, but you stand a good chance of getting away with saying, "I did the upgrade through Kies and now it doesn't work."

Indeed. I actually had Samsung replace my screen when I broke the glass a few months ago. They charged me 158 and they covered shipping both ways. I had the phone back in 8 days. Since they did the work it is still under warranty if anything else should go wrong. It was actually cheaper than any of the glass/digitizer units I could find online.

Any use out of a brick?

OK so a while ago I bricked my HTC flyer, and then upgraded to my Lenovo a2109 that I dearly love. So with the flyer, I played around with it and disassembled it, and reassembled it again (screen, buttons, hw light buttons still work). But now I'm bored with it. What can I do that's productive wutyh it? Lol. Not totally interested in a fix, no warranty. Can I sell its parts? Anything else productive? Or is it better just to keep it as is? Thanks lol

The touchscreen has cracked and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know of a reputable place that would able to repair it in the U.S.? I did not pay for the tablet so I don't mind paying to get it fixed as long as it cost less that buying a brand new one of course.

Your call, of course. I would've helped if you weren't so far away. Countless people have done it, no reason why you can't. Takes some patience and dexterity. That's all. Otherwise, below is one place. I know a bunch out here, but you likely wanted brand-name. Good luck.

Having done this a few times, and watched the video, a few cautions. First is to turn the service switch off before removing any cables. Read this thread, especially from page 13 on about the coil. Also, I'd remove the lcd display differently because its front frame is flimsy, and scraping it off the digitizer without loosening the tape along its edges first might bend it. Once it is, you will have light bleeding upon reassembling. If this sounds daunting to you, it's just not in practice, so don't cringe. Lots of people have failed, but only because they decided to shoot from the hip. Once you've done your homework, you should be alright.
