Just installed cromi-x final and everything is working great except when i try and charge it via the stock oem charger it doesnât appear to work, until i reboot then it starts to charge.Any ideas?
Just so the install is clear i did a factory reset and complete wipe minus the format.
After further inspection, even though the tablet isn't indicating that it's charging with the lightning bolt in the battery icon.It is in fact charging the tablet.

Hi,
I have a TF700T, rooted and with android 4.1.1. Since a few days, my dock does not recharge anymore the tablet and I can't even recharge the dock's battery.. If anyone could advise what to test, try or what to do before I contact Asus, I'd appreciate a lot. Here are my current findings..
I did not upgrade firmware recently, and I don't even think I installed new SW right before this event.
When tablet plugged with dock: the status bar still shows icon of dock's battery and even displays the current level (86% 3 or 4 days ago, and now 84%), but the ">>" is greyed out. The keyboard of dock still works perfectly.
Even if battery in man tablet gets empty, the icon of dock battery remains at same level and the >> icon remains greyed out.
If I plug the charger in the dock (still with tablet plugged), the thunder sign in main tablet battery appears, but no charging sign in dock's battery, even after several hours of charging. The main battery can thus be charged with the power cord plugged in the dock.
If dock unplugged from tablet: when plugging the power cord to dock, the orange ledof dock lights up as well, but when I replugged the tablet on the dock, ths status bar still shows same % of battery than before (even after several hours).
I tried re-booting and I tried to use power+vol down then selecting the android icon (among the 4 or 5 icons) in booting menu (note: my tablet is rooted but no other change, ony stock firmware, no special recovery menu, ..).
Anyone has ideaon what could happen ? It's weird that dock cant be reahcrged whereas tablet still displays the "dock being attached" and the % of dock battery level..
Thanks for any help,

This sounds very much like a dead battery or battery circuit on the dock. If you still have warranty, get a RMA and return it.

I contacted Asus and they advised to first try a full reset and then send it for repair..
I installed free Titanium backup (my tablet is rooted), but I'm confused on what I should do before doing the reset and the tutorials I found on Titanium even confused me more..(if you're aware of a nice tutoriel, link would be welcome, because I found none very explicit on xda and even on the web..)
- Should I perform a full backup of apps only or apps+system ?
- Should I backup manually my personal files (videos ,various docs, pictures,..) before using Titanium ? (for instance to save space and make nbackups smaller?)
- My sdcard is already largely used with only a few GB left. Can I ask Titanium to save directly to a PC ? Or should I use another sdcard (but then, what will happen to apps installed on sdcard ?) ?
Thanks a lot for your hints.

Used Windroid Universal Android Toolkit to unlock bootloader and flash twrp. All went fine.
Then I tried to gain root by flashing supersu, also with the same toolkit.
Then I got a android figure with a warning sign.
Can't remember exactly what happened then, but after that I can't power on, screen stays black whatever I do.
Charging I going fine though, charging led is green.
My desktop recognizes when the tablet is connected with usb, but I can't login with the toolkit.
Any idea what I could do or is the diagnosis: bircked?
Can you get into the bootloder? If so you are not bricked you can reflash the firmware
No, I'm not able to get into the bootloader, screen stays black, whatever I try.
Some change now.
While charging the battery, don't know how it became empty, the display shows a charging battery...
Wait till the battery is full, and then try some things again.
So happy! My problem is solved.
Here is what I did what resulted in my problem solving.
First I opened the back panel to see if the battery was all right.
After that my battery was empty, and I started loading my battery with the Nvidia adapter.
The screen showed a loading battery figure. After that I was able to boot into android as well as in the bootloader.
I noticed a strange problem with my Nexus 5. It starts to hang or restarts on its own. Sometimes go in to continuous boot loop. I could not differentiate why it would do that. Sometimes it worked flawlessly for hours. Then I realized that when it's charged off my computer USB power it works smooth. It works fine for sometime. But after few minutes of idle time or quick usage session freezes the phone and it re starts and keep going to boot loop, even after wiping cache. After a few attempt to wipe sometimes it starts without external power help. However, when attached to USB power it just starts without any issue.
I have done factory reset a few times. Unlocked my phone and also installed TWRP with Pure Nexus. The behavior hasn't changed much.
I think this is hardware issue. Could be a battery.
Can anyone provide a detail on how I can find issue?

Sounds like the battery is failing.
I DO NOT PROVIDE HELP IN PM, KEEP IT IN THE THREADS WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE
Hello all
just before i get started i did have a thread here regarding this issue before but sadly unable to find it now so seems i need to start over....
this is more of an update on what has been done so far but will just give detail about the issue from start
when this phone came to me it was not functioning i have no clue to what the wife done to it.... it appears that it may not be charging and something is stopping it from charging..... the charging indicator is on (( orange )) and the battery will display on screen with a lightening bolt in the center.... if i plug into laptop the laptop will sound off the USB connection and disconnection alert will do that 3 or 4 times
pressing power button will make phone vibrate and will display a battery with the lightening bolt assuming that means battery is flat as a pancake
holding volume up and power button brings me into the recovery option total of 3 options show 1) normal 2) fastboot 3) recovery whatever i select say for example recovery it will display the Asus and powered by Android this will last for about 3 to 5 seconds before going off again
so that is the state of the phone as of now and even after other things i have done as i will mention
in the past i have come across 2 phones with the very same issue the first one i flashed my self that phone only shown a charging indicator light but i found the flash tool and rom from the Alcatel website and it fixed the issue so assuming the same would apply with this Asus also the other phone i had with same issue was fixed with a flash
so here is what i have done so far using SP flash tools and following instructions from different places i have successfully flashed over the Stock Rom done it under download only also format + download and even tried firmware upgrade but i am still stuck with the same thing as mentioned above
obviously after flashing the phone it needs to power up to complete the setup process but as is clear i cannot do that if the battery has little to no juice
so what i am looking for is a solution to getting the phone to charge again or a way to charge the battery by other means (( bare in mind this phone has built in battery )) (( battery has been replaced new ))
what could be causing the phone to not charge or at least give battery the power it needs i ask because i do believe the phone is giving the battery some power but very little..... the way i look at this situation is like installing a sound card on a PC but not installing the driver the PC knows the sound card is there but cannot work without the driver same seems to apply with the phone
if i disconnect the battery from the main board the laptop will not pick up the phone even if i press down on the volume down button as i do when using SP flash and the orange charge light flashes so i don't see the issue being with mainboard but more likely a software glitch maybe the MTK chip is not doing its job properly or maybe it thinks the battery has full charge and stops the charger from adding more juice when in fact battery is flat
so can anyone enlighten me to what could be the problem and a solution
thanks in advance
Yesterday I put my phone to charge over night and when I woke up today's morning I was met with a Black Screen with a status bar and Software Back button, that doesn't do anything. Rebooting in recovery doesn't work (TWRP just stuck on loading screen). I can receive notifications, but can't interact with them. I can Turn on and off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS etc. through status bar. I can't open Settings or any App. I can't reboot with out removing battery, can't hard reset and if I power off phone from Power menu it won't start again, when I hold down Power button, unless I remove battery.
Some Details about phone:
LG Max x155
Android 5.0.2
Custom AOSP (installed long time ago, never faced this problem)
TWRP 3.0.3.
I searched internet and tried some things:
Rebooting (didn't work at all)
Hard Reseting (didn't work at all)
Removing Battery putting it back and then powering on (didn't help)
Entering Safe mode (didn't help, it shows same issue, though it briefly shows my Home screen before going black)
Doing anything with Recovery, like wiping, reinstalling ROM etc. doesn't work, because TWRP won't load
Some other details:
I am using different charger (but I have used it for several days already). Phone was overcharged over night.
Now I am trying to drain the battery to zero and then charging it again, using my old charger. If it won't help I don't know what can be done.

Do a google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"
Then reinstall TWRP, then flash your 5.0ROM and Gapps. Don't forget to factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache when you flash the ROM.

I figured it out. My SD Card burnt and caused this issue. I removed it and the phone's fine.
