Hey guys I have got the ViperXL, the newest one on my HTC One X from ATT and I am going to eventually try this cm-10.1-20130421-UNOFFICIAL-evita.zip the newest CyanogenMod located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2205183
and I am wondering, how do I do this?
Do I have to reinstall the jellybean ruu I downloaded from HTC and then do the CyanogenMod? Or can I just go straight to CyanogenMod. Thanks guys.

[How-To] Downgrade your Touch Panel's firmware (and upgrade back)
You might need this depending on Hboot. Also may need to fashboot flash boot.img. otherwise just make a backup and wipe everything accept external SD. Then install in recovery = profit

I don't know why would I have to downgrade? My hboot is 2.14. Can you maybe be a little more specific. Thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Also you don't need to flash jelly bean. I was in 4.0.4 before the official update came out and I was already on four ROMs that were jelly bean based
Because aosp ROMs have a an weird affect about the touch screen not working when on 2.14. So go there and downgrade your touch screen and then flash over cm

the 2.14 hboot came with an update to the touchscreen firmware. No source code has been released so support for it cannot be built into AOSP/AOKP Roms. Hence, a downgrade of the touchscreen firmware is needed to run them. It's quick and painless.

You won't get that update. It is for Asian phones. You can unlock and install on of the zips in the development thread though. They work fine for the most part and are jellybean and work on AT&T.

Sorry. I completely missed the 2.23 in your post. I have no idea. I would just stay unlocked and use the recovery flash able zip.

Does anyone know of a stable stock TMO US ROM without the T-Mobile apps?
For some reason I keep getting random reboots on CM10 and don't care for any of the other ROMs for the one S. Just gonna revert back to what the phone was built on.
I am pretty sure I have the One S from launch date, but how can I be certain which version of the One S I have?
Thanks

You can remove the T-Mobile apps with titanium backup. So if you made a nandroid just flash back to that and use tb to uninstall apps you don't like.
Your profile says you are in Dallas..I'm in Austin and I have the s4. I think that is/was the only version sold in the US

Just fine the RRU for your update to your phone it should be 2.35 RRU google it should be the first one ^_^..but if you updated from dec 10 and up you have to wait for the new RRU from Football
Or if you made a nandroid you don't have to run ruu which requires you relock bootloader...

Alright, well, I need help.
From my understanding of reading, i need to relock the bootloader, get into fastboot and run the exe.
Every time I run the exe the damn thing closes on me. Doesn't go into "not responding" or errors out or anything, just fracking closes.
Now that the bootloader is locked I can do anything with the phone lol.
Some of the posts I came across said that they found that if you don't have CWM as the recovery it fails, but other posts nixed that idea saying it doesn't matter. Is there any truth to that?
EDIT: the 2.35 RUU closes without warning the 1.53 RUU goes into not responding.
EDIT #2: Was able to unlock the bootloader again, flash the latest nightly and now im back on CM10 with a brandnew phone and factory reset to nothing. What do I need to do to be able to successfully run the 2.35 ruu...?
Are you running windows or linux on your pc..??

Windows.
I have the ability to do so in Linux as well if need be.
I can provide you the latest nandroid backup if you want restore it in twrp or cwm then get the boot.IMG from the ruu , open ruu , goto temp files, find the folder which contains the extracts of ruu and then open the Rom.zip in there , there you will find the boot.IMG , flash it in fastboot , flash stock recovery , relock bootloader. You're as good ruu , or if you want I can do the ruu manualy for you on teamviewer pm me !

I'm currently on cm10.1 with s-off and unlocked.
just wondering if I can use the JB OTA zip file from ruu.androidfiles.org to bring my phone to official JB. If yes, can I just load the zip file in TWRP and flash that way? thanks!
If you do it may lock your phone back down and I don't know what would happen if you flashed a sense based update to an aosp ROM.

Just flash a stock rooted ROM posted in Development.
Simple rule, don't install OTAs on a rooted Android device. At minimum, you will lose root.

I am having trouble connecting to Wifi since I've started using 4.2.2 roms. There was no trouble when I was using a 4.2.1 rom. My wifi switch will not move to on. When you click it, it says turning on wifi but nothing happens.
I am currently using [Official PACman All-in-1-ROM Ver. 22.0.1[4-3-13] .
I have Hboot 1.14, S-On. Do I need to have S-Off to connect to Wifi?
Thanks
Anybody have an idea of what's wrong? I'm running Rohan's test kernel C
I'm not sure how to fix it, my fiance's phone has the same problem. I can tell you that having s-off won't fix it though, that merely turns security checks off, it's completely unrelated.

You have to flash boot.img through fast boot
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You probably need to update your firmware to JB. There is a conflict between ICS firmware and the JB base that can cause your wifi to go haywire.
You do need to be s-off first, however, or you may get a brick running the RUU.

Run the 3.17 (non-US) or 3.18 RUU (AT&T), depending on what phone you've got. You need to be s-off first or you may brick if you are supercid. You'll lose root, but getting it back is just a matter of pushing custom recovery back on and flashing superuser. You'll also need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware to use an AOSP rom; there's a thread in the Original Development forum on how to do it.
I'm not guaranteeing this will solve the problem, but I was having similar issues and this solved it.

i figured out getting s-off. so after i run the 3.18RUU, do i have to use the following root method?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285086? Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, just a little confused.
No. You can just flash recovery after ruu. Then either flash a rom or flash superuser if you want to stay stock rooted.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Correct, once you're s-off, you can never permanently lose root. No need for any exploits as you'll always have the ability to push a custom recovery back on and flash what you like.

I've been thinking about RUU'ing and starting over. Been having wifi and connection problems in general. Seeing as im s-off, do i need to change my cid back before running the att RUU? I seem to remember there being a conflict when the JB ota came out.

No need to change cid
Don't need to relock bootloader, change cid or anything else if your phone is s-off, to ruu.

Word. Weekend project.
Thanks
so i did everything mentioned, put on the 3.18RUU, installed recovery, downgraded the touchscreen firmware, flashed new rom and kernel. still no wifi working. any other ideas guys?
Sounds like a hardware fault to me if the RUU didn't fix it unfortunately.

I would think so as well, but it is working fine for me if I use 4.2.1 roms. Do you think that's still the case?
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
If it's working PERFECTLY on 4.2.1 then I would say it's not a hardware issue. And I'd also say I'm completely stumped as to what's causing your problem.
Sent from my One XL using XDA Premium
Damn. It's definitely working ok on both the 3.18RUU and 4.1.2 rom. Not sure what other measures I can take to try to get it right.

Sent from my One XL using XDA Premium
Hi
I was looking at various CM 10.1/AKOP ROMS and many of them had RUU 3.18 as a requirement. From what I understand this is only required for ROMS running the 3.4 kernal.
My only problem is that I am using a Telus HTC One XL, and while looking at a thread with the RUU of each provider, the latest RUU for my phone was 3.17, which I am currently running.
Would I still be able to flash ROMS running the 3.4 kernal or should I stick to ROMS without that kernal?
If it helps:
Unlocked Boot loader
Rooted
Super CID
S-OFF
Hboot 2.14
Touch Firmware Downgraded
Thanks in advance for any help.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I'm not 100% sure, but you could always make a nandroid backup and try cm10.1. I *think* the 2.14 HBOOT is the important part.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
I you might as well just backup then try it. Worst case is it doesn't work and you restore backup. Also, I'm pretty sure you can do the 3.18 ruu on any XL device.
-Sugardaddy
3.17 works too. I'm on Telus 3.17 and have run cm10.1 with 3.4 kernel.
OK guys, thanks. Guess I'll flash it and see how it goes.
Edit: Worked great! Thanks a lot guys!
