You won't get that update. It is for Asian phones. You can unlock and install on of the zips in the development thread though. They work fine for the most part and are jellybean and work on AT&T.

Sorry. I completely missed the 2.23 in your post. I have no idea. I would just stay unlocked and use the recovery flash able zip.

He means to check your firmware.
When upgrading to ICS you need to update your firmware. There's a thread by mike1986 that'll help you. You can find it in developer thread.

Yes, you need a newer firmware that's running ICS correctly.
It as been updated to the latest firmware to run ICS but the lad I bought it off said then's when all the problems began. So I was thinking of trying to downgrading it back to gingerbread [stock or custom rom] to see if that would sort the problems out

Have you installed a Custom Firmware or a Stock-Rom from ICS?
What firmware has you installed yet?
it was already rooted with a custom ISC rom installed So it came straight from a stock gingerbread rom to a custom ISC rom
Hello Freddy!
Have you tried to install another custom rom or re-install the one you already have? My guess is that it's not ICS that's messing with you but rather the ROM/firmware is. My tip for a rom is Ordroid (You can find it in the developer section of the sensation forum).
I don't know how experienced you are with rooting/flashing roms etc but when you go from one ROM to the other it's recommended to format the different partions (except SD-card).
Also here is a thread about different firmwares and how to install them if you don't want to change rom and just try a different firmware to see if it gets any better
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
Here you have an all-in-one thread linking to different guides and fixthreads etc as well
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613295
How do you know if your downloading the right firmware [Unlocked UK sensation]
You can also download the latest ICS RUU. Then you will be completely stock, with the correct firmware. from there you can always try custom roms If you don't like the stock ones.
You can find the RUU's in the Pyramid Shipped Roms thread in de developers section

Hi
I decided to try and restore it to stock gingerbread rom put am not sure what rom and firmware I will need
You van download the RUU in the Shipped roms thread, If you run the RUU then everything will be installeren, firmware, radio, rom etc.
You can find the thread in the developers section. For europe you need the RUU with RUU_PYRAMID_1.50.401.2 in it's file name.

usually
go to the development section of htc sensation and look for virtuous or another ics and inside that same post, they will tell you which pyramid you can install, for your cellphone,
Flash a stock GB RUU so you will be putting the phone back to out of the box. Then start fresh reading all the tutorials available
am not sure which one i would need though
http://db.tt/1vf53aOI
This is a link for the 1.45 europe RUU. You can update it OTA to 1.50 to get the latest Gingerbread rom. Make sure you have the correct CID either HTC__001 or superCID.
If you want to flash the stock ICS rom then here's the RUU for that: http://db.tt/KLhJSmgk

CID... Is carrier identification.. It is to identify which model is linked to which carrier or whether it is unbranded.
A device with a particular cid.. Only receives update from that carrier only. (eg recently TMOBILE US ppl got ics)
If your cid is HTC__001 then your phone is Europe unbranded (not linked to any carrier) one
Now supercid is a unique cid (11111111)
That lifts carriers restrictions.. If you got supercid you can install official rom's (RUU) of any carrier and any country
Sent from my pyramid.. Through blazing fast sonic waves
Its unlocked to work with any network Is the supercid part of the rooting process

HTC jelly bean build

Hello everybody
I am not using AT&T Sim card but got an AT&T branded HTC one x.
Is there any remote possibility for me to get HTC jelly bean build sooner than at&t releases it officially via OTA ?
I am fine with getting it unofficially.

[Q] Question on Software update/warranty, etc

I'm new to this site, just registered. Sorry i'm a noob!! So I have had the Blue Tmobile One S since august but sold that one to my friend and bought a black one from a guy and said it's from solavei, So I try it and everything seems legit except It's running Android 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0. So I go to menu>Software updates>check now to see if I can get the OTA they had in September but it says I am currently up to date. I checked my sotfware information and it said my software number was 1.84.1135.17 71ORD. I look online to see if I can some how download it and it told me that if I don't have these two other numbers and had something else then the warranty is void and I can't get updates. So My big question is how can I change my software number? Do I have to like root my phone? Then some how unroot it back to a different stock ROM? I'm open to suggestions and I would really like an answer thanks!!

If you're on 1.84 I would not update via OTA. You probably have a 1.06 or .09 hboot, which will be extremely nice for you.
I would suggest unlocking your bootloader via HTC and installing TrickDroid if you want stock. There arr several guides, including a all in one tool to help you with the process.

You can try typing *#*#CHECKIN#*#* into the dialer and then checking for updates.
Or you can find a T-Mobile US 2.35 RUU and running that. However it will be more difficult to flash ROMs once you have upgraded if you want to do that later on.

I tried that and all it did was say in my notifications "checkin succeeded" and nothing else happend.. so idk about that. I'm not really looking to root my phone, all I really want to do is have my phone run on the latest software and get OTA updates if possible. But if I need to root it, I will. And for the second thing, I'd have to root my phone to run the 2.35 right?

After "checkin succeeded" you should then check for updates in Settings, as I mentioned earlier.
You seem to be running an "ORD" build which is basically like a Beta test for the latest software. RD stands for Research & Development. The latest 2.35 RUU should work without rooting.
However that will upgrade your HBOOT and make it more difficult if you decide to root later on.

I also have the 4.0.3 with HTC 4.0

Change CID to HTC__001, run a 2.31 unbranded RUU. Then use the downgrade thread to downgrade down to 1.06 HBOOT.

Htc one x help

Hello,
My HTC One X is running android 4.0.3. I notice that Jelly Bean came out today and I never got the OTA for the 4.0.4. When I go to AT&T Sfotware Update, and it searches and goes back to the Check for Updates button. Is there any way I can update it without doing a factory reset?
Thanks for your help!
Don't update, supercid + ota = brick
P.S. Why would you want the att update? It will still be crappies than a custom rom.
Also, jelly bean is 4.1+
-Sugardaddy Duncan
No, I'm saying the I am still on 4.0.3. I never got the 4.0.4 update. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Do the 2.20 ruu then do the ota
So the only way to get 4.0.4 is through computer, right?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
If it's not shwoing up on your phone then yes you have to manually do it..but I suggest you root and flash the stock rooted ota but if not I'd be happy to help you ruu to 2.20

[Q] Upgrade TELUS HoX to newest firmware

I've been looking and have found that there is no RUU for the 3.17 Telus update, only OTA zips.
I would like to upgrade my phone to the newest firmware, and then re-unlock, and restore my rom from a nandroid backup.
Is there anyway that I can do this? Should I run the AT&T RUU and then proceed to unlock the normal way?
I am s-off before anyone yells at me.
What I did is ruu to ics, then check for updates. I have seen some 3.17 ota repack downloads but I prefer direct from the source.
Then installed twrp 2.3.x then downgraded touchscreen firmware to run AOSP. Though you don't need to do that unless you want to run AOSP.
Telus sucks at releasing RUUs, but the network here isn't as Saturated as some of the other guys

I forgot to add, there is no need to re-unlock as there's no need to re-lock to RUU with S-OFF. Just keep it unlocked and then flash TWRP after. nice and easy. (I have done this myself so I am 100% positive)
