[Game][2.2+] deScribe, a Pictionary-Telephone style game. - Android Apps and Games

Hello fellow XDA members!
Back in December I published my first app to the Play store. I have since had some time to do a few updates and have pushed a new version today. I would very much appreciate some feedback if you have any.

The game is called deScribe. It is similar in concept to a now defunct website called BrokenPictureTelephone (BPT), or the still functioning site, EatPoopUCat. I used to really enjoy BPT when it existed and thought that this would be a perfect game for a touch device. The only ones I could find on the play store were severely lacking in drawing capabilities and overall polish (in my opinion).
-------------
In this game, you can decide if you'd like to draw a picture from someone else's description or describe one that someone else has already drawn. Often the beginning idea gets a bit garbled by the end and it can be quite humorous to see the results.
There are leader boards representing the most voted for artists of all-time, this month and this week.
You can choose to get notifications when someone takes a turn in one of your games, someone comments on one of your games or someone stars a drawing of yours.
You can look at someones profile and see some basic stats about them (how many drawings/descriptions they've done, how many stars earned, etc.
You can choose your own profile image. Either choose from an included list or draw your own!

Comments, suggestions, downloads, and play store ratings greatly appreciated!

looks lovely
:good:
I will try it later.

Did anyone have a chance to look at this yet? Any feedback you have would be appreciated.

I released a minor update today [edit: actually 2. couldn't help myself]. It is syncing to the play store but that can take 1-2 hours, so I have attached the free version below as well. Changes include:
1.12
-----
-more bugfixes
-added ability to copy a layer
-added ability for fill color to be different from shape border
1.11
-----
-bugfixes
-added individual layer transparency
-improved notifications to take advantage of new Jelly Bean api
As always, feedback is always appreciated.

THANKS
Screenshots? Direct link/QR code? Better description of game, maybe text from market in post?
Come on, be a better marketing agent!

Nuh long detailed descriptions are for sissies. I dont think the qr link works though
Hmm. Why would I download/waste my time to find a link or finding it in the market if I have no idea what it is other than a puzzle game. Give me a reason.
@OP
I would suggest to all game devs to refrain from using the term "my first" when describing your game. It's just not as inviting. I'm not telling you to lie, just don't tell us ^_^ I'm pretty confident it will draw in more crowd.
Not too bad. Simple, but entertaining.
heres a direct link market://details?id=<com.hyperbyte.game3>
some screen shots:
Any suggestions on how I could improve it?
needs better tile graphics and fullscreen(no notification bar). Work on presentation now that you have your core gameplay concept.
"Stops unexpectedly" on my Samsung Vibrant (stock 2.2), and I have to Force Close.
yeah Im working on fixing that. was the force close from rotating the phone?
I am currently working on adding new themes, difficulty levels and bug fixes, so stay tuned!
Feels like a fancy minesweeper, needs better graphics.
I would like some sort of chat bot providing some colorful commentary like "are you sure? " "not bad" "you are not getting closer " and that sort of stuff (with SHUT UP! Command of course) give it more personality
Game itself... mechanics is okay but needs feint or other cloud scoreboard support. Right now everything is random so no comparison.
Another idea is play aids, like helpful circles or borders to narrow down suspect squares. However you get penalty factor if you use them. So you cannot get high score unless you turn them off.

Outbreak! 2

Hi All!
So last year I created a thread here about an app that I had just released. I got a lot of great support from this forum so I though I should come back and give an update about the latest version!
It's now available from the market, and there have been a lot of significant changes. So here are a few screenshots:

The premise of the game is the same as always. You play the game on a map view, using you actual location. Zombies must attack survivors and vice versa. As a survivor, when a Zombie gets your health down to zero you will turn into a zombie. If you are killed as a Zombie you can respawn as a survivor.
The game has a leveling system, so you can level up as you attack users, and increase the range with which you can attack.
I'm also working on some pretty major features at the moment, as I want to integrate real world locations ... but that's all I'm going to say on that for now. I think the biggest news, however, is that there is also an IOS version in the works ... not that any one here would care but you will be able to distinguish between android and IOS users, and attack accordingly.
There is also a facebook page where I post pre-release versions of the app for people to try out.
I have thrown together a temporary website (while I try to find time to do something proper), which explains the game a little more. I have made a pre-market version available here, which has all of the latest features.. just waiting for a good time to go live on the market.
As always I would love to get as much feedback as possible!
Thanks & Enjoy!
Hi,
Nice app!
I gave it a try today.
I was lucky enough to find a player in my neighborhood but unfortunately he was a zombie, like me.
So my first suggestion would be to allow to respawn as an opposite kind.
Because basically I just cannot play since the closest other player is > 100 km from me!
Cheers.
Thanks! If you email [email protected] with your user name I can add some NPCs in your area. This is a beta feature so I ask people to request.
Cheers,

[GAME][4.0+] Pirate Skirmish reboot, now with multiplayer that actually kinda works!

Hi everyone, years ago I posted the originally version of this game and got a lot of great feedback, but sadly as a newbie programmer the codebase became a nightmare to maintain and it basically exploded every time I tried to change something. I've since learned quite a bit and became a lot more familiar with the SDK, so I decided to do a complete rewrite which I'm finally releasing today. There's no doubt some bugs still hanging around, but with any luck I'll be able to find and fix them quickly with the help of your crash reports
There are a couple ads, but the game is free, and there are no IAP. The market link is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rubberthumb.pirates
Here's a quick rundown of the features:
- Real-time Multiplayer for up to 4 players.
- Cloud syncing means never losing your progress through single player.
- Level editor included to create your own levels, which can be shared with the community
- Community Maps section that allows you to download the maps created and shared by others
- 15 single player campaign maps to unlock, with more to come
- There are a few achievements, if you're into that sort of thing, also with possibly more to come
Really looking forward to getting some feedback, good or bad, I'm really just excited to finally get this out there. One last thing, I'll be spending the next couple days pumping out new maps via the level editor, and if anyone wants to contribute some single player maps via the level editor I'd be forever grateful
Thanks!

'I'll have a P please Bob'
Remind anyone else of blockbusters? but in the sea with pirates?...no?
That is no way a criticism by the way.
Honestly no idea what blockbusters is so I definitely won't take it as criticism, but everyone likes pirates, right?
Bumping for the weekend crowd, if you have any interest in strategy games I'd be thrilled if you gave it a spin and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Nice Game !
Nice Game !!!!:laugh::laugh:

[GAME][2.3+] Ready Steady Teddy - my first (puzzle) game. Begging for feedback!

Hi,
I am hobby/evening+weekends programmer and I would like to present my first game called "Ready Steady Teddy" - get it for free from Google Play.
Here is a short game-play video (I hope you will like my fiancee's amazing acting):
And some screenshots:

In the game you need to tap two tiles with the same character on them - e.g. two tiles with eyes. Once tapped (and some special conditions are met which you can read in the instructions about) the tiles merge to form a new tile with more details - e.g. nose, ears, body etc. On the first level, as the name suggests, this eventually lead you to create a teddy bear, but the game has additional three levels with different animals and board shapes. My (very biased) friends really liked so it would be great to get some more objective feedback.
I have built it using LibGDX - I wanted to use an engine that was as low level as possible for my set of skills, before I move to the likes of Unity (if I have to). LibGDX proved to be really straightforward and I would have definitely used it for this purpose once more.
Current planned enhancements (if only I had more time!):
- Sound effects and maybe background music
- Leaderboard via Facebook
Thank you very much to all that would give it a go!
I look forward to hearing your comments/questions/threats/everything else!
Cheers,
Chris
Sharing on Facebook
I was wondering what is the best way to persuade others to share the info about the game on Facebook. Currently I am using a technique that if someone posts a link and this link is clicked three times, a bonus level will be unlocked. What do you think about it?
Sharing in general
Currently when user clicks share a whole bunch of possibilities are displayed such as email, twitter etc. I was wondering whether anyone users anything else than Facebook. Maybe it would be useful to limit the possibilities to make sharing easier?
Has anyone downloaded it? If not, why - does it look uninteresting, boring, not your favourite genre?
Finally!
Added a gameplay video and direct link to Google Play - should be easier to find it. Many thanks to all who tried it, it really means much to me.
*bump*

[APP][4.1+] AppHunt - discover new apps 1.5

Hi,
I am the dev of AppHunt. A week ago my app was promoted here, in the XDA Picks: Best Apps of the Week (Apr 25 – May 1).
AppHunt is a curated list of apps updated in real time. The online community of users select and vote the best apps: either disruptive new apps or apps with new awesome features. The idea is basically a mix of ProductHunt and reddit for android apps (now only apps in the play store).

}
Lot of users belong to this community and I want to do something useful, so this is the best place to ask you what new features do you want in AppHunt? What are the things you don't like and what things do you want to improve?
I had already lot of feedback but I want to prioritize and avoid develop features for only a couple of people. Here are some ideas for new features and things I should change :
Followers: you get notified when a user you follow post an app
New find/ask feature, users can start a thread to ask for an app to other app hunters
Add the score of the top hunters to the profile page
Improved the support and design for tablets
Add animations and cool transitions between activities (I really want to spend some time here but I think it is not really relevant to people to use the app, maybe I am wrong)
Dark theme / night mode. Some people also asked about themes, but I think everybody wants a dark theme
Redesign the app. I am not a designer and the design is not the best, with some help here this will improve a lot.
Change the name of the app: AppTrend (any other suggestion?) The reason for a new name is because there is another app with the same name and that is not good for marketing purposes
New logo (see image below)
Push notifications (which are coming soon)
It's been broken for quite awhile, still listed on Google play though. What's the issue?
