I don't how many Swype lovers are here, but I certainly am, and I can't live a day without it. And the great news is its finally here on our Play Store, out of its forever Beta status! Hooray. Get yours today. For 1$ it's a steal imo.

I saw the news! Question though, does that mean they're going to kill my Swype beta soon?
$1 is pretty cheap but there are some frustrating issues I wish would have been solved before they pushed this out. I see no changes between the $1 app and the latest Beta version which is free.
Edit: Apparently buying the paid app allows you to disable the Dragon speech tool! They should really publicize this more (although I suspect they're getting paid by Dragon to include it so I can see why they wouldn't want to).
And a link to the trial for those who would like to test it prior to buying it:

Wonder how it fares vs Swiftkey Flow. I bought Swiftkey once at the end of v2, got upgraded to v3 then to Flow for 0$. Was never disappointed. Best prediction I've ever seen in a keyboard, although it's been a while since I last tested Swype.
Well this is not based on prediction. No offense, but Flow is not comparable with Swype, not yet. Swyping results are much more accurate, more fast, that you'll hardly need to use the predictions or manually select words. Those who use Swype, knows how is it and how much we love it.
'Swyped' from my GT-N7100
Good news!! IMO this is the more accurate keyboard for Android.
I have the beta and would like to support the full version, but is there a way to transfer your dictionary? I don't want to enter from scratch again.
Does it still stuck? Last I checked, the beta was slow to start and and its guesses for swiped words seemed more like a random word generator
I decided to download the keyboard and test for myself.do far the only thing I see wrong is the typos you see here, the lack of spacing after the period.
Another issue is that on my Note 2, the keyboard appears massive. It's only slightly bigger than SwiftKey, but it still looks oversized. Have a look.

Finally, even on my new, high end phone, the startup for Swype is slow. Not 3 minutes or more like a recent version, but enough lag to annoy me.
Now to see if it retains its accuracy...

I have been using Swiftkey for a while and using its flow through space feature. When it works it's really satisfying, but the truth is it works for less than 50% of the time only especially when I try to flow through more than 3 words. I cannot rely on something that I can't guarantee working reliably.
I bought Swype this morning and it is so much better in terms of pure text input. ALOT smooth and faster.

I can't say I swipe more than 1 word at a time, I find it more effective that way. I got the Swype trial and I'll test it to see how I like it. So far it seems smooth, but I only used it once for a short time.
I wish it was like Swiftkey though, I use more than 1 language and I dislike switching from one to another all the time for different contacts or even in the same convo.
I want French (AZERTY) but doesn't work ...
I'll keep Swiftkey ... It's still the best for me

I am enjoying my Nexus S for the peace of mind it brings: knowing I'm running stock Android and that I'm going to get future updates first.
Having said that, I do wish the experience wasn't marred by issues and glitches (specifically with the random ringtones, and the occasional, yet nevertheless frustrating, screen scrolling and icon issues). I'm looking forward to the next bug fix update. Fixing these issues I predict will go a long way in making me really happy.
I'd like to add: One aspect of the phone, and of Android in general, that I feel sorely about is the keyboard. No matter how one twists it - for example, one might say it's improved over previous Android keyboards, which is true - it pales in comparison to the accuracy and response of Apple's keyboard. This is not to start some immature Apple vs. Google flame war; anyone who has typed extensively on both platforms will understand the difference. It's also a shame Google seems insistent on copying even Apple's mistakes, for example, the lack of customization and custom auto-correct features. I can't wait until Blindtype is implemented. It's sorely needed.

I don't understand your keyboard issue? Will you elaborate? I have used an iPhone extensively and still can't figure out how to make it do Swype...
Regarding your glitches, I recommend an exchange - I have none of those issues...
I use NS rotate with MT4 on main line (has 4g web attached), but I may upgrade 3rd line to preferred 4G web in order to use along with MT4.
NS and MT4 are great phones, and probably they're the best phones for T-Mobile so far.
IMHO I think its common for new phones to have some sort of fault, its not perfect but of sure is a great device.

I'd agree. I was an iphone user for nearly 4 years and it is one of the most difficult parts of switching to Android. The iphone keyboard did seem to be much more accurate (Or maybe after years of typing on it, i was just REALLY used to it). I did originally download the swiftkey keyboard, which seemed easier to get used to originally but i had a problem with SMS that could not be solved any other way but a factory restore. And since then i've given the stock keyboard a bit more of a chance and after a couple of weeks i have to say it's not nearly as bad as i originally thought.
Love it just like did the nexus one
Great phone

Ironically, i'm still spending more quality time with my I9000M than with the Nexus S
the SNS works out of the box, almost perfectly, there is no major flaw, nothing to FIX
in the other hand the SGS it is full of PROBLEMS, and in a weird twist of thing, it's fun to FIX it
it'll be horrible though if that was your only phone, and you need it for business.
as a DEV toy, it's fund
I can finally go all out, trying all kind of crazy things on the SGS to fix it, and make it work better, now that I've got a reliable SNS to use for my daily business
I love my phone too! I can't wait for the development to get to a point where the N1 is. I love modding my phone, I just wish I knew how to do some development myself.
The only thing that made me regret the purchase was the HD2 getting NAND two days after I bought it.

I suppose everyone's experience is different, but I find when typing on an iPhone (or even an iPod), the keyboard response and speed is superior to Android's - I find myself typing far more confidently. (Anybody else constantly type "km" when trying to type "I'm" with stock Android keyboard?)
I'm using Smart Keyboard Pro already, and it is indeed a step up from stock Android keyboard. However, it seems to not be optimized for Gingerbread. I've reached out to the developer but haven't heard from him yet. It seems to especially miss space bar taps, so I'll often get words likethis; it also seems to miss really fast presses, especially when letters are close to each other. A common example is "you". I'll try the iPhone emulator keyboard that someone suggested and see how that goes. Thank you.
Edit: It looks like the iPhone keyboard, but it doesn't type like the iPhone keyboard. I'm not sure if this is software related or hardware related, but something about the Nexus S screen is almost too sensitive - you can hover your finger over the screen and it'll register presses; this might be making the typing experience worse than it should be. I don't know. I'll stick to Smart Keyboard Pro, which is as responsive as it gets typing on Android. Plus, it has no-brainer features which I don't understand why Google/Apple don't implement into their stock keyboards (like custom auto-correct - this feature goes miles in improving typing; or long pressing for second key symbols).
Note: I am not the developer of this app.

nds4droid is the first Nintendo DS emulator for high-end Android phones (1ghz+ recommended).
REQUIRES A HIGH END ANDROID DEVICE (such as Nexus S, Galaxy S). If the framerate is slow, it's because your phone is not smart enough. This is a very heavy emulator!
Current features:
- On-screen interface
- ROM loading
- Save states
- APP to SD
DUE TO PERFORMANCE REASONS SOUND IS CURRENTLY DISABLED (would crack). Sound will be enabled for certain devices in the near future.
This emulator it's far from perfect and will be getting a lot of updates over the next couple of weeks/months. Please know this when you purchase.

From what I've read, this is so early in beta it should almost be considered alpha.
I've tried running Pokemon Diamond on my Dinc running IncROM 1.5beta2 and no luck. Currently flashing a backup of CM7 Nightly 32 to see if it can do any better.
EDIT: CM7 Nightly 32 also doesn't run Pokemon Diamond. Updating to Nightly 34, although performance is unlikely to change.
Does Pokemon Heart Gold work on this emulator? Either way, I'll buy this once it gets updated to a more stable version.
Can it be installed HTC G2?
Yes, but wait for the app to be update coa right now its very slow and buggy.

Whoa. Ten dollars for a beta. That's a little excessive. Going to wait for a stable release. Almost sounds like a scam. Lol.

Well, it is not a scam, but it is far from being worth $10.
I am trying it right now.
First i tried Fire Emblem, but all i got was a white screen.
I decided to get a lighter ROM and tried Space Invaders Extreme 2.
I am looking at it right now, and i have the top intro screen.
It took a few minutes to load from the "saving game" warning into the intro.
The buttons don't seem to be working at all, and the touch screen is just black.
In any case, it is an emulator, not a scam.
Albeit a very buggy one that should be available for free if the coder wants to get some serious input to advance this project.
There aren't even any settings on this thing.
Too much of a rush to make a quick buck, imo.
ETA:
Friggin Launcher Pro is closing on me now, and i don't seem to be able to get back on TW...
Guess it's time to reboot and uninstall this app for now.
I agree this one is a beta an we all Should wait till they release an updated and more stable version.

Bullsh!t you did. Every keystroke saved has been completely nullified by the fact that I'm CONSTANTLY hitting the delete key and retyping words because your auto correct is way over zealous. I love the actual keyboard but I really hate your auto correct. It's not nearly as smart or as "swift" as you think it is. I can mess with the settings all I want but whenever I get one thing to my liking, another annoyance pops up. I hate you.

You can delete whole words by swiping right to left on the keyboard, just incase you didnt know.
heres a tip, learn to type and don't rely on autocorrect, problem solved.
you can also have it learn from previous texts to get a feel for how you talk
Thus the reason I love Swype.

I myself can't acclimate to swipe style keyboarding. I prefer the traditional method, but that is just a personal preference. I've used all kinds of keyboards, and so far, the stock HTC keyboard that comes with the One X works quite well, and has an excellent spell correction engine.
Spell correction engines are adaptive, and improve over time, as it learns your typing style and word selection. I recommend having some patience and giving it adequate time to learn. Or, you could always try smart keyboard pro, which is another good keyboard, with a lot of free skins.

I happen to be a great typist, tyvm. I suffer from a condition called "my finger tips are larger than the buttons on my on screen keyboard". It's a fairly common condition, but unfortunately the only known treatment for it is autocorrect. Either that or I can slow down and type with one finger, but that isnt really a viable option for me.

Yeah, I really dont like swype either. I did for a while but grew out of it i guess. I really like the HTC keyboard but the arrow keys are a deal breaker. Smart Keyboard Pro is decent but it doesnt use the ICS voice to text so there goes that one. I was using the ICS Keyboard which I liked but wanted to try something new. Thats were swiftkey comes in. I love it, i really do, but it is taking me a long time to get used to the way it predicts words. Ill get the hang of it eventually.
Why don't you change it so the Space bar will complete the current word instead of inserting a prediction. You can use the words that pop up if you want to use prediction but you don't have to use it all the time.

Typing style rapid, space bar completes current word, double tap "". "" inserts a period, and key height to large (was medium until I changed my Lcd density to 280). These settings work flawlessly for me. I can pretty much rely on the suggestion bar to type for me.

I wish Swype was as good at predictions as SwiftKey is.
I use both. Swype is a must for me on my Galaxy tab 10.1 since that form factor is large enough that it is just more comfortable to hold the tablet in one hand and swipe with the other.

If the only deal breaker for not using the HTC keyboard are the arrow keys, there's a modified HTC keyboard without the arrows. I'm using it, and it works great. It's in the themes and apps section.
Here you go. Just flash in recovery and you're good to go.

I had the Prime and exchanged it with Tf700 from Best Buy. Got infinity today from best buy after opening the box found the scratches on the screen and also one minor crack on the screen. This is not the reason i don't like the infinity because i can exchange with another one from best buy bcos they 30 days return policy. But the reason i don't like the infinity is the web browsing is not that fast considering it has quad core 1.6 ghz processor. The wifi i have is very fast works great with other devices. Right now i am typing with the infinity and it is so hard to type it. Typing is not smooth either. It is taking long time to write on this also the cursor to correct typos is not very accurate. The screen is as promised crisp, gaming is also high quality. Camera is good too. But i dont like the browsing and writing lag. Plus once the browser shut down automatically. I have update it to the latest firmware. Looks like the processor is not capable of handling high resolution or maybe something else.

Install Chrome. It is way better than the stock browser. And I highly recommend getting Swift Key 3 for tablets. Best keyboard hands down.

Sorry you feel that way! It really is an awesome tablet just give it some time!
Or try dolphin hd browser. Even faster than chrome.
There has been so much negative reaction. You would think the reviews would have been more negative but they were mostly positive. I am hoping that JB update comes sooner rather than later and that it corrects the awful I/O issues, as it was reported. I wonder why of all Android tabs out there with ICS and inferior hardware, this one is so affected. I guess people expected more, which is understandable given it is a $500 to $600 tablet.

I hope asus bring some kind of update to fix whatever the error is. But frankly speaking I don't like custom Roms I just want stock Roms and wants asus to fix the issue. I have the original galaxy tab and rooted and zipped custom rom but never like the tablet afterwards. Thanks for the reply.

I think I will. Could be possible since the screen is damaged other internal parts got defective too in assembly or shipping.

What you are disappointed about are app specific things, not infinity, so not really correct title of the thread.
Also, allow a pad to settle down for few days. Mine is faster and faster. This is normal thing with android.
One weird thing though.
I absolutely love Chrome (desktop) but on my pad somehow stock browser works much faster.
How come?
I was even considering using stock one and delete chrome as the only thing i miss with stock browser is "other devices" tabs.
For example, one thing that i like with stock and can't find in chrome is fit to screen. This forum is always over the edge of screen on chrome, and have to double-tap it to resize, every time. With stock browser, its just perfect.

I think you do well to give it some more time. I love the hard keyboard, but it takes a little while to get accustomed to its feedback. My wife won't type a thing on it because she is used to blind-typing and that doesn't work too well, apparently. I guess the spacing is off and so she has to look at the keyboard while typing. (I do that more or less continuously, but my typing speed isn't even so far off from hers -- at least on a normal desktop keyboard, to give her a fair chance. )
Asus is supposedly working on a new firmware fix to address the I/O issues according to a recent post from Gary (asus rep) from the Prime forum. Hopefully that will resolve the issues.
Please don't forget to send all your issues to Asus support. If they are aware that a lot of users are disappointed, they might speed tacking the issue.
Don't expect a lot of useful feedback though ... I just had some generic mails back saying to reset the Tab / check for updates ...

I do type on other devices which has touch screen but did not find much hassle. I have android tablets. But as other poster said give some time to tablet and i find this correct because as now i am typing with infinity it is easier than before. But every now and then the space comes between alphabets. I used swype while typing so far it is 100% accurate.

Hello everybody I'm new to the development scene and this is my first release which I am offering free for now. Here's a link to the Google play store, I would love to hear feedback and suggestions. It's a first person zombie survival game, but this one's actually coming out good(or so I've been told). I should mention it's in beta and its called Zombie Nights. Here's the link enjoy, and thanks for reading.
Here's the link to for screenshots and download(Google Play Store)
I'll be monitoring this thread if you have any suggestions that you would like to see in the game. Currently I'm working on the multiplayer and adding random missions during the night while fighting off zombies.
Thanks again.
EDIT: mini Update on post #30

Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to fix the lag I've already reduced it a lot from the first build, the only thing I can think of trying now is using occlusion culling.
Thanks again for checking it out hopefully I can fix this issue soon.
Looks like it's gonna be like DayZ (never played it but I want to!), it's very laggy on my Galaxy SII, but it's underclocked to the max, so that may be why. The graphics look good, can't wait for it to smoothen up .

Yeah, definitely because it's underclocked I've tested it on an SII it runs good. The funny thing is I didn't find out about Day-Z until I was halfway into the game but that's basically what I was going for with the multiplayer. I have a windows and mac beta already running really smooth that connect to a multiplayer server which is cross platform for the android, windows, mac, and web browser. The multiplayer is basically gonna be kind of like Day-Z but I'm gonna try to add more dynamic environment events. Also Zombie Nights is full supports all features cross platform. I started writing this for android first so I can make the android experience as immerse as the desktop version.
Thanks again.

Hey thanks for checking it out and the feedback, I'm starting to focus on optimizing the code to fix the lag on some devices. The 3D assets are pretty much 90% optimized so I feel like the lag on some devices is simply inefficient code.
The game seems to really run smooth on HTC devices mostly, but again I'm working to make it run smooth on all popular devices.
Thanks again.
Hey thanks for offering this for free - excited to give it a shot after the d/l finishes.
One thing I noticed from screenshots though is that the "Next" button looked a little close to the directions arrows. Though that's just speculation because I haven't played it for real yet.

"your device isn't compatible with this version"
CM7.2 (2.3.7) stock dpi (240)...
any help? maybe give me the apk to side-load it?

No problem it's ad supported so I was thinking of a cheap 99 cent or 1.99 for those who really can't stand ads but I've made them to be as non intrusive as possible i.e. they'll never show up at night when you have to kill zombies or something.
Thanks.

yes, it's the first app to say that.
tested the game (no night time yet, no time).
game has a little... jump in performance.
controls are really hard, and sometimes stick to going right or left.
graphics are awesome.

Thank you. It's still in a relativity early beta this has been about four months of work, but I'm constantly improving code and graphics overhead.

Thank you glad to hear you got it running, and I am happy to say that I found the root cause for the lag and performance issues on most phones, it's the draw call count my game goes from 400 during the day to a whopping 700 at night and in order to keep it running smooth on androids and iPhones the draw calls should remain below 80. So needless to say I have a ton of optimization that needs to be done but I already started working on it and hopefully soon the game will be completely re hauled to fix the performance issues. But I have two exams next week(Discrete Math and Probability and statistics for engineers, yikes) that will slow down the process a bit, but I assure you(and everyone reading)I will fix all the performance issues.
Thanks again everyone for showing interest and giving me good feedback. XDA is an awesome community. I'll still be answering questions and taking suggestions.
Cool idea Keep it up!

There's a store for ammo if you cross the bridge and go right its the last building closest to the water, also at night that store closes so you can find more ammo in the ally adjacent to the ammo store but it costs double at night(To keep things interesting I guess haha).
I know it may be confusing to figure tings out because there is no tutorial mode or help, but I plan to add an optional tutorial in level 1 or help section in the main menu.
Just downloaded and looking forward to its improvements in the future. Only thing I would say is when you come to pricing to remove ads remember that at 1.99 you may get 1,000 who pay, at 0.99 you get 10,000+ who will pay. Most rooted phones have ad remove programs and if they don't work people are more likely to just delete or live with it. I understand the work and effort that goes into these things so a small charge is more than reasonable but I've seen more than a few apps that I've deleted rather than pay silly amounts. Of course you can charge what you want but just my thoughts.
Oh and good luck with the exams fella.
