Fry's offering the ATT S4 for $149 with new contract on 4/27 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

Just saw this posted on a deal site:
http://www.frys.com/ads/page95?site=homepageslider:GalaxyS4
I don't have one near me but for those that do. Lucky you! There is no clarification as to whether this is for new lines only or applies to upgrades as well.

I think all the companies call the discount for new activation a rebate. I could be wrong though.

I also want to know what is *price good after $500 activation rebate

maybe someone should... ya know... ask them?

I got my i337 at a Fry's here in Dallas yesterday. I paid $150 + tax, which came out to ~$162. No oddball rebates required. It was posted on the display unit cards that Fry's charges a $7 fee if you need a sim card as well, but I already had a lte microsim from my One X, so I just used that. The Fry's guys informed me that they have a 14 day return policy, and, interestingly enough, they do not charge a restocking fee.
One odd requirement that Fry's has, though, is that I had to have a credit card, not just a debit card, that they made an imprint of before they'd allow me to buy the phone.

Cheapest out of contract price?

Just sold my iPhone a good hefty amount Wheres the best place to get out of contract pricing? 400 isnt much, but I've heard of people getting it for 300? Anyone know where?
Also, my two year ends 02/26/2011, do I qualify for the upgrade pricing from Costco which is 79.99 or do I have to wait until that date?
Alex
Yeah, go to Costco and ask them if you qualify for the early upgrade right now. If not, wait until the 26th... its a great price. ($79) I tried yesterday but they turned me down for an early upgrade, told me to go to the corporate store, and I can get it there. Try your luck!
Would love to know where I can buy one online at a reasonable price with no service contract.
att.com don't sell them without a service contract so that is out
AT&T stores have it retailed for 399.99 without commitment. They probably need more than a few in stock to sell it to you but that's the cheapest I have seen.
Just got mine today from ATT off contract $399 seems to be the cheapest right now anywhere. Seems kinda odd that they wouldn't sell u one.

Seen eBay prices as low as $320. Could probably dip below $300 in a week. I trust eBay more than say, small obscure handset websites, because I've never had a problem bidding on a phone and getting what I wanted in a timely manner, but when it came to an actual online retailer, they would give me the run-around on shipping or send me a defective product.
sometimes http://www.wirefly.com has good deals on early upgrades.
Just got mine at BB for 324 plus tax. That was no contract price.
I got a pretty good early upgrade yesterday.
I have 2 lines, 1 shows ready for upgrade and the other addon line shows eligible on 4/24/11. Contract is up in August.
I went to a corporate store and they said 99 for the normal upgrade and 399 for the other.
I went home and called customer service and got the same story.
I then asked them what charges I would have if I cancel my account early.
They told me and after a couple of min. they gave me the retention rep.
Ended up getting 2 new Inspires, free shipping, for 79.99 each!

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.
Att store used an early upgrade for a non data enabled line for us and it was $300 and put on the data enabled line for me, but then i gave it to my wife. THEN the data stopped working for her line and we had to call and explain because there was something that needed to be enabled on her line for the 4g phone, EVEN though att was out of the 4g cards. So we have to go back to the store to get the 4g card i was supposed to get, but going to get for her line now.
Untill i buy another one. Maybe today. But that will probably be the full 400 price. Ill check bestbuy store see if its cheaper

I don't know where the "right" ads are, as the ads to the right show 299, as you say.
If the phone is released after the 2/26 they don't have to honor the $249 price tag, thats when the ad expires.
You can still get it at vzw for $249 after the 26th.

Best Buy does not pricematch anything when rebates are involved.
Best Buy also reserves the right to make price adjustments.

bestbuy will honor the 249 price! wont say it again! (for pre orders)
I assume its too late to preorder? Altough its not out so...
Then again the ad says 249 after savings. Which I assume is the instant rebate or the upgrade savings?
I guess if you put down $50 and get a gift card of $50, then you still have to pay $200 when you pick it up or $250?

I went to BB in Lafayette, LA last night and was still able to pre-order. Got the 50$ card with it too. Give your local a call. They may have some.
Pretty sure it's release price is going to be 249.00 whether it's release this week or next.
Went by BB today.
I picked up a copy of the ad just in case. The sales guy said the phones are locked up but not yet allowed to sell any. He showed me the boxes. He had no idea when he would be allowed, he said call every day.
I also asked about the preorder and price. He said it will be 249 this week for sure if he can sell them. He said he knew about the 299 change, but he thought it meant it will be 299 with a $50 gift card (instant rebate) bringing it "back to 249". As to preorder, he said the $50 you pay up front gets you a gift card but does not go towards the price. So when you come back you still owe 249 but can use the $50 gift card. So in the end you pay a total of 249 and tax, 50 up front for a gift card, and 200 more and the gift card when you pick it up.
So hopefully in the next couple of days we can start getting them. Although I feel Wirefly and Amazon will have them for less, maybe 149-199 and no tax. We'll see.

T-Mobile USA Best Buy Deal

It looks like Best Buy is offering this phone at $199 without a mail in rebate. Does anyone have any experience with purchasing phones through Best Buy?

I know, the "='(" was to add the innocent factor. I didn't see the mail in rebate part on Bestbuy. Might have to take my international back.
Best Buy has a decent 30-day exchange policy.
Costco Online is the way to go though. It's $189.99 before rebates and if you pre-order you get a $25 Costco gift card after rebate. Like someone mentioned, free activation, free shipping, free accessories (like car charger). Also a 90-day exchange window.

$100 off AT&T Galaxy S4 Promo

I was doing some searching through the Premier offers and I found this promo for $100 off the At&t Galaxy S4. It says it works with Upgrade customers. I tried to see if my local store would honor it with my pre order and they said I'd have to cancel my pre order and order directly from At&t Premier. Anyone else have luck getting a store to honor the promotion? The store did say they would allow me 50% off accessories.
Here is a screen shot when I click on the details:

No, I was able to get it in cart for $199 and the promo took it down to $99. It looks like you aren't getting the full discount on the upgrade.

You're correct, I could have swore it was $99 after rebate. Not much of a rebate if it brings you to the original price lol.

No go
I did a little finagling with retention and got a $25 credit for three months and the upgrade fee of $36 waived. That brings it down to $88. I'm happy with that. I was also able to get my messaging 1000 back for $10. The unlimited seems like such a scam.

I have had two lines with ATT since 1995, and both lines expire this month and next. I called in and directly asked for retention. First level customer service can't really make offers. Once I was on with retention, I simply asked for credit for being a dedicated customer. Actually, I joked about it and asked for $1000. She laughed, took a few minutes and offered the credits. She was very nice. I wish they would have given me a survey after the call, but they didn't. I would have rated her very highly. Not only due to the credits, but because she really was a delight to talk to. :good:

Not such a great deal when you consider the contract part of it, I think. They've got you for two years at probably $70+/month ($1680 at least). And during those two years, if you want to upgrade, they'll probably make you sign a new contract AND pay the new contract price (if they even let you upgrade). Sounds like a raw deal to me.
I'll take my $670 upfront cost, no contract and $30/month plan anyday. Next year, if I want a new phone, I sell this one for $450, get whatever new phone I want, and never even have to consider my carrier as an obstacle.
Just my $.02.

I pre-ordered mine on Negrielectronics. I used a coupon for $20 off (sorry, that coupon is no longer valid, but there are others that are still good), and Negri's price was already cheaper than T-Mobile's. Plus no tax and shipping. Ended up saving $100 over T-Mobile's off-contract price.
They still haven't shipped their devices, but for $100 in savings, I can wait a few days extra. And of course, having no contract is the icing on top.
I bought mine at a Cambodian store made in vietnam class b with 1 year warranty 32gb white no region lock tried with thai simcard all ok and cambodian sim all fine tried my roaming philippine line still workin. Costed me 696$

Well, if you wait a couple of weeks, they'll probably start showing up on Swapp (XDA Marketplace) once the 14-day return window has passed. People might change their minds and list them for sale.

Thanks for the heads up. Now trying to sort thru the different models (carrier differences) and prices. I used to think the Tmo and ATT hardware were the same. I'm not so sure anymore. The ATT flavor is $55 more expensive on Ngri. It also appears the 64GB model is not available anywhere that I've seen. Don't know how important the memory issue is since an SD card can be added.... Since I use an ATT MVNO I have to be sure about compatibility. Is there really a difference in the 4g freqs ?

This thread on XDA seems to suggest that both the T-Mobile and AT&T versions support the exact same frequencies.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2464498
I've noticed the difference in price as well, and it is considerable. I'm not sure why the T-Mobile version is cheaper than the others. Negri buys theirs directly from T-Mobile, so it could just be that they are getting a better deal from T-Mobile than the other carriers.
As for the storage, 32GB is pretty decent to start with. I've seen that that translates to about 25GB of user accessible storage out of the box. And yes, most people have MicroSD cards already, and 32GB cards are pretty cheap these days (I bout mine for $20 last year). Someone also just posted a link in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466753) to a 128GB MicroSD card. Of course, the price is ridiculous, so I don't see many people buying that.
