Pros and Cons of Cyanogenmod for Tipo
Cyanogenmod is the most popular Rom out there. It does not support Tipo officially but an unofficial build for Tipo is maintained by FreeXperia project. While Cyanogenmod is the most stable Rom available, it is not fully polished.
As far as tipo users, I believe they would flash CM10(jelly bean) on their tipo.
So lets take a look at some pros:
Very stable for daily use
Jelly bean on tipo
Faster interface
Low memory consuption
Highly customizable Rom
Inbuilt CPU control
Inbuilt equalizer
Vanilla jelly bean experience
Better battery life
These are some of the few pros.
Now lets come to the cons:
No facebook integration
No timescape
No google apps by default
Screen freezes at sometime
Some apps may not run well in custom rom
Your warranty is void
You wont receive updates from sony any more.
These are a few cons.
There may be more, if you find more plz tell me

Great thread dude!
Just please remove this:
No google apps by default... WTF? When you flash CM you download 20MB file and flash it with it.
You wont receive updates from sony any more. - ??? WTFx2 - You will receive updates from FXP Team now and not from Sony. And that's better because we will surely see even newer androids in future (maybe even by someone elses team).
Hope I helped not to confuse our users :\

Do you know who made official Cyanogenmod for Xperia phones (Arc,Neo)? FreeXperiaTeam
Maybe they will post that to official once they finish but you should not care about that.

The official Cyanogenmod Github already addopted the FXP project for this phone. So practically it is part of the official project, yet not listed on the official site.
For everyone who wonders about this:
Be patient. It's still under heavy development
I agree with what Option58 said here above me :good::good:

Just updated today.
Problems with Walkman app coincide with FB likes, which requires internet access.
APN for at&t does not work, so I manually had to install settings, a pain, but worse than having no data connection at all.
Seems that the update is very minor; really disappointed.
No HD video.
No camera software improvements.
Somewhat unstable, so hoping Sony gets their **** together and fix the bugs in this OS update.
The best thing out of this update is SPEEDTEST and Open Networks speed tests FINALLY working.
Also, trackID on MW600 Bluetooth finally works as well.
So I guess good and bad make this update relatively neutral.

Hmm. I see so that's the story. Well, people here are too impatient. Its not like other ROMs can make their phone 2x as cool and fast as stock. Hell, I actually prefer stock. The only difference I see is Theme Chooser (Except ParanoidAndroid's total UI Customization and different modes). which by the way is already available for non-CM/AOKP ROMs. The only reason I want to get CM for this phone is for hopes that even when Sammy abandons this phone, we'd still be able to run a recent version of android. 4.2.2 is no big deal for me, its still jellybean for chrissakes. I'd tear the world apart if we were still on GB and KLP or whatever 5.X will be called is already out.
I guess its best to wait. We waited a pretty long time for jelly bean but why replace something that's not broken? Still is just software, I doubt those ROMs can satisfy me.
.end mOpinion
Sadly, there's no one left, OsamaGhareeb knows programming (he can help with the sources) but he's MIA here on Ace II section. Then there's hafizduddin, who builds the kernels. Aaaaand there's OldDroid who said he'd be getting an Ace II and build something for it but he's MIA now too (i think he's active but I don't think he'd get this phone IMO)
So, that said, anyone else here who knows programing/Linux operation?

Hello everyone....I'm not a great developer...yet I never saw a thread in this forum about the possibilities of dual boot...
Can some experts take this seriously..
Wouldn't it be freaking cool to select an os from start-up..
Two os installed and the user chooses the one he wants...like cm10 and stock...
Any ideas or possibilities???
Hope this isn't a foolish.question

i did this question before some months to rachit (kernel development)...i dont remember his answer (search to original dev>rachit thread) its possible to make a dualboot (a lot of mobiles custom kernels support it)....i would like to learn how to build a kernel from source or to make my own but i dont find a thread for it (if you know any thread or anyone else know something please pm me the thread or post it here)...

it's possible and there's a lot of method to do that. you don't have to build a kernel to do it. you can do it by simply modify the ramdisk.

There is no official KitKat update.. Our phone was dropped support at Gingerbread.. Google doesnt give updates to our phone. Only HTC gives updates. Google updates only Nexus devices.
Unofficial update is on its way... @galaxyfreak is working on OmniROM and probably @sakindia123 will bring CyanogenMod 11 for our device.
So keep calm and flash on .
Yup waiting for it bro

Actually, 4.4 is streamlined to run on 512 MB RAM devices (says some news sources). So, there's an approximately 0 chance of getting a direct upgrade to Kit-Kat That'd be a world first!?
the real question
i think the real question should be what do you expect will be the performance of android 4.4 Kitkat on our device will be?
i tried a lot of roms but performance make me want something like kitkat that have original support in the OS itself that have no bugs and everything runs smooth ??
official or not..it would be awesome.
ya .. waiting for someone to make an unofficial 4.4 build...

Dude if you haven't read Google's statement, they said that devices which haven't got ICS and other updates, will get kitkat directly from 2.3 so doesn't it means that those devices have 512 mb Rom too.
What I'm saying is that they have made it like that the requirement is only 512mb RAM, not any Rom. And if other devices which have gingerbread can get update to kit Kat than any not explorer.
Because if those devices haven't gotten ICS and other updates, which are ought to get kit Kat, it means the have 512 mb Rom, because if they had Rom more than 512 mb they would have been updated to ICS first than maybe jelly bean and than kit Kat, but some devices, according to Google will be directly updated to kit Kat from gingerbread, so there's not a single question of Rom. So it's all on HTC now, whether if they give us an update or not.

I'm not talking about the Google version of Kitkat. That'll fit in just fine. I'm saying that Kitkat with sense 5 won't fit into just 512mb of rom. Cyanogenmod or aosp on the other hand is a completely different question.
