Yah I have updated to jb and it works great but sine app won't work in it and you will be disappointed to how it use battery.. In ICS I can play and browse 4

Just updated today.
Problems with Walkman app coincide with FB likes, which requires internet access.
APN for at&t does not work, so I manually had to install settings, a pain, but worse than having no data connection at all.
Seems that the update is very minor; really disappointed.
No HD video.
No camera software improvements.
Somewhat unstable, so hoping Sony gets their **** together and fix the bugs in this OS update.
The best thing out of this update is SPEEDTEST and Open Networks speed tests FINALLY working.
Also, trackID on MW600 Bluetooth finally works as well.
So I guess good and bad make this update relatively neutral.

Pros and cons of cyanogenmod for tipo

Pros and Cons of Cyanogenmod for Tipo
Cyanogenmod is the most popular Rom out there. It does not support Tipo officially but an unofficial build for Tipo is maintained by FreeXperia project. While Cyanogenmod is the most stable Rom available, it is not fully polished.
As far as tipo users, I believe they would flash CM10(jelly bean) on their tipo.
So lets take a look at some pros:
Very stable for daily use
Jelly bean on tipo
Faster interface
Low memory consuption
Highly customizable Rom
Inbuilt CPU control
Inbuilt equalizer
Vanilla jelly bean experience
Better battery life
These are some of the few pros.
Now lets come to the cons:
No facebook integration
No timescape
No google apps by default
Screen freezes at sometime
Some apps may not run well in custom rom
Your warranty is void
You wont receive updates from sony any more.
These are a few cons.
There may be more, if you find more plz tell me

Great thread dude!
Just please remove this:
No google apps by default... WTF? When you flash CM you download 20MB file and flash it with it.
You wont receive updates from sony any more. - ??? WTFx2 - You will receive updates from FXP Team now and not from Sony. And that's better because we will surely see even newer androids in future (maybe even by someone elses team).
Hope I helped not to confuse our users :\

Do you know who made official Cyanogenmod for Xperia phones (Arc,Neo)? FreeXperiaTeam
Maybe they will post that to official once they finish but you should not care about that.
Freexperia is sort of official...

The official Cyanogenmod Github already addopted the FXP project for this phone. So practically it is part of the official project, yet not listed on the official site.
For everyone who wonders about this:
Be patient. It's still under heavy development
I agree with what Option58 said here above me :good::good:

Google search not working after update, help

As the title states my Google search is no longer working after the new update. The only way I can get it to work it to clear cache, data, and uninstall updates which will then revert the app to factory form. After doing all that the app works no issues but then the app updates itself and then i keep getting same error message every time I try to load it.. Anyone else have this issue? Running P6800 with JB 4.1.2. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. I read there are issues on some nexus devices. I think just wait for Google to release a fix.

Same here. Reverted to the previous version and waiting for the update with correction (hopefully),
I just did a phone reset hoping it would solve the issuebut nothing. Google just released a new update and still same problem.

Indeed, the release of 11/21 is no good either.
I have been looking all over the net and can't seem to find any info on this, Google hasn't even acknowledged there is something wrong. Maybe this is only affecting a very small number number of people.

Both Google Now / Search and Newsstand have been crashing on launch with the stock ROM. But on my other JB devices no such problem. I tried rooting this tablet. No change. Then I flashed the unofficial Cyanogenmod 10.1. That solved the problem.
My assumption: the Samsung stock ROM is the source of the problem.
What did I learn?
- My tablet is running smoother without all the Samsung crap. I should have done it even sooner!
- I will probably gravitate in the future to Nexus devices where the OS is not compromised by vendor-motivated overhead. And it's easier to get updates and custom ROMs.
- Because Samsung has not been fully cooperative with the developer community, ROMs often lack certain device drivers. (Another advantage for Nexus.)
If this motivates you to root and flash just be aware of two known deficiencies with the ROM I am using:
-no tethering
-once you turn off wifi you'll have to reboot to turn it on again.
(Thanks, Samsung for withholding wifi device drivers from the public.)
We shouldn't have to install custom roms in order for an app to work. I have tried to report the issue to Google but I have yet to receive feedback. I have flashed many roms and many of my Android devices but I longer wish to do so since no one rom is fully functional as it should, there will always be issues. I too may consider a Nexus device, but at the same time I have always liked Samsung and their products but this one issue with this app is a little annoying.

What I don't understand is that my wife's Note I I was able to update with no issues, her phone is running JB 4.1.2. I'm no tech or anything but I believe it may have something to with our tab itself.

After flashing the JB 4.1.2 Indonesian firmware, my Google search has stopped working. No matter what I do it always crashes.
I don't have option to uninstall updates from app manager. Does any of u guys have an older version of Google search? Would be really glad if u can post it for me.

Hi Manipur,
Try to download this:
http://sdrv.ms/18hoDxb
Let me know if any problems.
Whether Samsung or Google, the android environment can come across as chaotic. So much going on with all various versions.
Samsung keep selling us pretty much the same devices with new software, I'm not particularly impressed their pace of improvements.
Google products seems to work well on Apple ios, android is still missing functions available Apple for a good while now, funny how that works.

Oops. Too bad, that is the oldest one I have, and it works fine in my case.
I know I'm not the only one with this issue, anybody have an any ideas as to why Google search no longer works, even after new updates. On My wife's Note II she gets all the updates with no issue, she is also running 4.1.2. This is really pissing me off.

Cannot wait for a respectable tab with phone function so I can ditch Samsung forever.

Right now my phone has been on for 148 hours and 37 minutes or just little over 6 days. On 4.2.2 and no bugs whatsoever. You do know difference between a bug (something many or all phones are affected with) and just plain user error (what you have been experiencing) ?
there is a restart bug,, problem whatever u guys wanna call it..me and my cousin have xperia l and both of them c2105 and since we updated them to 4.2.2 they started to restart out of sudden..but i noticed that mine restarts when i plug the headphones,,and the phones were on locked bootleader and no root..but then as i sayed i unlocked it and tried other kernels but didn't get rid of this problem till i downgraded to 4.1.2..!
This is the first time we hear about that "bug" here on this forum.
I think that i once read about this problem..
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hey..redzo..r u on the latest 4.2.2? If yes..r u having any bugs other than the sensor light?
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So only you have this "bug" cause i've never hear about this on xda or fb group.
I think you just modify something and it's causes reboots because 4.2.2 is reboot - free. Reboots happened only when somebody have no ideas about he did with his phone I mean when somebody modify lot of stuff and it stop work properly. Maybe some app maybe Xposed or something. Or your XL is just damaged.
It's just trolling, complaining or what?
Tapatap!
No i'm not trolling or any thing..but if it seems to be i'm the only one who have this problem..it could be becuz i didnt do factory reset?..i don't know..maybe..btw..mad props to u fellow gooner
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
it may be. From authopshy i know that not doing full wipe (factory reset in this case - its the same just different names) can cause a lot of unexcepted bugs. i have this phone for a while and i had only 2 restarts on it but one was for sure cuz of my fault ^^ and the second one was propably coz i had very low battery level, so it may be like you said.
I had the same problem with rebooting , but i get rid off this by simply reflashing firmware, so in my opinion it isnt related to firmware version
Thank u guys for ur help..and leos..finally somebody know what im talkin abt lool..so it was kinda my problem..it's ok..thnx again guys

I was like.."Is the OP serious?" after seeing the thread title. 4.2.2 might have some bugs, but also do look at the positive side of it..
Also in 4.2.2 Osu! game is freezing and lagging. No problems in 4.1.
Anyone know what could be the problem?

check in settings -> applications -> internal memory if the app is flagged.
If so, uncheck it and move it to phone's memory.

Its app problem. Check GP comments, at last in my coutry. I dont get why PPL blame xl for wverything. For me this Phone is great and i dont blame IT for anything....

It's not the phone that we are blaming..the phone hardware is incredible regarding his price but i think the old firmware is more stable..i also played zombie frontier 2 and the multitouch is more smooth on the 4.1.2..but to be honest i didnt try the new 4.2.2 update

Does it have a custom ROM? Might be a bug with the ROM. Other option is that the WiFi module is broken, like mine was. But luckly my phone was under warranty, so they changed it (for free)
