Hmm. I see so that's the story. Well, people here are too impatient. Its not like other ROMs can make their phone 2x as cool and fast as stock. Hell, I actually prefer stock. The only difference I see is Theme Chooser (Except ParanoidAndroid's total UI Customization and different modes). which by the way is already available for non-CM/AOKP ROMs. The only reason I want to get CM for this phone is for hopes that even when Sammy abandons this phone, we'd still be able to run a recent version of android. 4.2.2 is no big deal for me, its still jellybean for chrissakes. I'd tear the world apart if we were still on GB and KLP or whatever 5.X will be called is already out.
I guess its best to wait. We waited a pretty long time for jelly bean but why replace something that's not broken? Still is just software, I doubt those ROMs can satisfy me.

Sadly, there's no one left, OsamaGhareeb knows programming (he can help with the sources) but he's MIA here on Ace II section. Then there's hafizduddin, who builds the kernels. Aaaaand there's OldDroid who said he'd be getting an Ace II and build something for it but he's MIA now too (i think he's active but I don't think he'd get this phone IMO)
So, that said, anyone else here who knows programing/Linux operation?

Will need some tutoring and examples but should not take long to get up to speed.

[DEV] [EXPERIMENTAL] Building Android 4.2

Hello everyone, now that Android 4.2 is pushed to AOSP,it's time to work on this code to make it work on our beloved LG-P500. I'm calling all developers to teamwork just like it was with Ice Cream Sandwich.
As for now,the CyanogenMod team has not done any customizations on the 4.2 code,so I am working currently on the AOSP code.
I will keep this thread updated together with my progress on this project. Everyone is free to contribute.
The branch to sync is android-4.2_r1.
People contributing:
Bytecode
Current status: Downloading the source code.
Patches and device trees will necessarily be pushed to the LGICS team.
Good luck with it!
I was already wondering why there hasn't appeared a ROM yet in this great community lol
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2 JB

I'm not a Dev, and I'd like to, but anyway this kind of efforts are really appreciated This people is awesome.
i recomend.......
i am not a developer but i know that work alone is harder than work in group. i understand that the innovations of JB 4.2 are very gratefull but if i could recomend something, it should be that it would be better to concentrate all the work to have a completely working JB 4.1 before star JB4.2 port :good:
PD: this is my completely opinion about this and of course i am NOT despising all your work. Because of you developers, our O1 have a new life
Only if I had more free time I could learn and help. I'm a computer enginner student, so it's very useful to learn all kinds of things and I also love it anyway. I will check this thread often to see how things are going. Wish you luck.
Status: Had to set up my Linux maching yet again. Graphics got messy.
The code is synced, let me look into it
would like to jump into 4.2 code..will figure as to how can i contribute...
We, as users, can contribute by testing, reporting bugs and providing logcats.
Do we will do that as soon as developers will share a build with us. --

Frankly speaking I am not impressed with ubuntu os. Everywhere just swiping here and there is ridiculous. Also most of the basic apps still dont work in it. We should wait for official release of ubuntu with major impressive imptovements. And most imp we have major issues with kernel 3.0 which has to be first solve for stable CM rom. Only then we should proceed with ubuntu.

[Q] Best Rom For Gaming On Our Galaxy 3

Hey Guys. How Are You All.Ok now my question may seem nasty to some but i really need your advice.im searching for a rom froyo,gb jb i dont mind all i want from it is that
1.it should be lag free hence must have good speed(overclocked).
2.i want to do intensive gaming on it so it should support fimg and all and ofcourse chainfire3d.
3.battery life should be good and it should be stable.
4.if it will have gb or jb looks it would be cool
I know im asking too much but still............:silly:
Most obvious choice acc. to my above needs will be a froyo rom now the question is what will it be????
Awaiting your replies and thanks in advance
If cm6.2 rom is completely ported, i'm sure you can enjoy all that you've mentioned.

I think he means that if cm6.2 has a complete stable build your wishes can be fulfilled. But atm it doesnt.
For gaming I think froyo is the best. Cm7 + Will work on selective games only

Noob Help Needed (Custom ROM Building)

Hey,
I am jumping the gun a bit but I was going to be getting involved in building custom roms for the S5 (once SS is available.) I figure I might as well start now and if we never get SS (I'm sure we will in due time) at least I will have started with getting experience.
I've searched the internet and found some great guides to building custom roms. I am not a total noob but am new to building roms.
I would like if you all could help me out and point me in a good direction on xda or the web for rom building information so I can give it a go!
Also, I would like it if you guys would comment as to what you look for in a custom rom (stock touchwiz of course) so I can begin researching different mods as well!
I know I look for a good theme with themed apks, adblock hosts, bloat removed, call recording mods etc..
Thanks for helping me out!

also to add what kprice said.. without an unlocked bootloader SS will only be able to flash roms compatible with the kernel/bootloader we have which would mean only stock based roms.. other than that, if this ever changes id love to work on aosp roms!
