Hello XDA.
See, here is the problem ...
My friend has a LG Optimus One P500, he asked me to root it. I succesfully rooted his phone.
The other day, he send me a message that he bricked his LG Optimus One P500, he said that he installed a font with ROM Toolbox.
I went to his place, the phone was totally bricked, we looked all across the internet, every solution we found ... Did just not work.
So I came here, the place of all android knowledge lives to ask this, How can I unbrick this blazing phone.

Have you tried booting into recovery ( Power + Volume Up + Home ) and then wiping cache and dalvik cache?
Hope you have installed a custom recovery. If you have only rooted, maybe a factory reset would help.

With stock recovery you should be able to perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the Power button and both volume buttons for 10 seconds. If the USB drivers were previously installed, you might be able to boot the device in to fastboot mode and then use Android Flash Recovery to install a custom recovery.

Boot back into recovery and do a dalvic /user data wipe then a cache wipe then re instal your rom. make sure the rom you installed is for your phone.
so i tried rooting my device , i used the superoneclick root
and i was running 2.3.3
and then for some reason i turned on the phone while holding down the volume down button and the phone formatted itself then i took the battery out and put it back in and now the lg logo comes up, goes blank, and does it all over again. does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? THANKS

Did you remove the battery while the phone was performing the factory reset? If yes, that is a big NO NO! You can brick some Android devices (Samsungs especially) by doing that. Turn the phone on again by holding the down button and allow it to complete the factory reset procedure.
If it still won't boot then you need to flash Clockworkmod Recovery and then use that to perform a proper factory reset.
If that doesn't work you are going to need to flash a nandroid backup of the stock rom to get it all back to square one. After you are done if you want stock recovery you can use the One Click flasher to restore the stock recovery.
Don't take the battery out in a situation like that.

I have a Rogers LG-P925g. I have rooted, flashed roms, unrooted and returned to stock and rooted again. I have read this forum extensively. As I understand, any O3D should go into recovery by the volume down,+ 3d and power method. In at least 100 attempts ( stock, rooted, custom rom) this method has never worked for my phone. The only way I can get to recovery is through Rom Manager. This makes it kind of scarey when you get into a boot loop and can't get rom manager running to pick "reboot into recovery"
Took me days to finally stumble across using Smartflash to re flash stock rom to unbrick phone after stupidly using LG update on my rooted and ThiaiZ O3D V2.8 phone. Being able to use vol- and 3d when power would have saved me countless hours of work.
Anybody else have this problem? Any other way to get into recovery?

Well its either a manufacturing defect, meaning one of the buttons isnt working, or you're doing it wrong.

Thought that would be the answer, but the buttons work, i.e. I can turn volume up and down, and 3d button works when phone in normal operation. I could be doing it wrong? Believe me, I have watched countless you tube videos showing how to do button press and read every description I could find in O3D forum, but still, I guess I could be doing it wrong. Tried every little variation in how I press them and when I let go, to no avail. I have many devices and done lots of rooting and rom flashing. Still I guess I could be doing it wrong. Even tried the 910k resistor usb, but no way could I get into recovery. Only with Rom Manager. So I know phone will go into recovery or at least I know it will go into CWM recovery.
Thank you for reply though, appreciate any input!

Well for me the only way to get into Cwm is pressing power +volume down + 3D, but if I keep power button pressed, phone will power off, or never get into Cwm, so I let go the power key, and press it and let it go many times till it get to Cwm.
That's my way since I got the phone. Hope it helps You.

I have the ATT model g2. it was running android 4.2.2 and i rooted. i got an OTA notification yesterday so i unrooted it, and uninstalled busybox. and went ahead with the update. now, my phone does not turn on. you go to turn it on and the lg logo flashes for a second or two, then a black screen, if you look closely you can tell that the screen panel is still lit, but nothing shows up. It will not boot to download mode, and it does boot to the (stock lg, not custom) recovery, but when i hit the power button to do the hard reset, i get the black screen again, and no boot. when i connect it to my computer, it gives me a bunch of popups saying that i need to reformat a drive before i can use it, somewhere around 15-20 of them? ive run out of ideas to fix it. any and all help is appreciated. :crying::crying::crying::crying: would really like my g2 back, im back to my old phone which was a nexus 5 that has a terribly cracked screen, and i really like to get the g2 back rather than having to pay to get my screen replaced.

No it was stock recovery. I tried installing recover with the twrp app but it didn't work so it was a stock LG recovery.

did you try to factory reset in stock recovery along with wiping the usual, cache and dalvik?
Tried using the stop recovery factory reset, that's all lg's recovery can do. It says factory reset processing like normal but then the screen goes black again. LG stock recovery can't wipe the cache and dalvik afaik

Hi
Today I was using my phone when it suddenly rebooted and got stuck there. I can access recovery mode and have already done a factory reset, but it didn't help. Everything in my phone is stock and is running MM 6.0.1.
Thanks for the help

More can not help
You can try Alcatel's own software, namely Mobile Upgrade Q (download here), which will reflash stock firmware onto your phone and is designed to recover bricked and/or bootloop phones. You will lose your data though.
Both solutions did not work and issue remain unresolved.
Any recommendation probably using adb commands to unbrick ?
\knowing that developer options are not enabled and there is no way to enable it because the phone is bootlooping
