Problem with Note charge - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I´ve a Note 10.1 one month ago and all was perfect. Yesterday, I put it to charge without any problem. Today, I saw that de battery icon seems to be charging, then, I went to recovery and did battery stats, but nothing. I flash a stock official rom without root, but nothing. I don`t know what`s the problem, hardware or software.
The charger work, because I try it with my wife`s tablet (Galaxy Tab 2).
I nedd your help.
Thanks

Try replace your usb cable with another aftermarket usb cable

I try with other usb cable , my wife's tablet) and not work.

When I connect the Note, it seems not to be charging, but it's charging. The problem is that when it' disconnected, I go to config-battery, and show "100% charging", but the Note is disconnected.
Other problem is when I push power off. Then Note is pff but it displays the blue battery, like charging, but it's disconnected.
I can't understand what't the matter.

[Q] Charge via USB.

Is there a way to charge via USB? I'm going on a trip and would like to be able to charge my computer and my note at the same time.
When you connect it, should start charging automaticly!!

This link is for the Galaxy tab, but I built one of these adapters and it works great with the Note 10.1.

I am able to charge my Note 10.1 using anything that has a USB port, just put it in line with your sync cable and your good to go.
Stock sync cable charges tab... It just does it slower...
No need for "special made adaptors"....

Sorry to say mine does not, not even on my stationary USB3.0.
Mate, it trickle charges through the USB... Usb doesn't provide the same charge as the wall charger. Yes there's a that little red x over the charge icon BUT it is charging. Depending on whether you are using more current in the activity that you are doing depends on whether the tab charges or discharges the battery.... Leave it over night and it will be 100% charged the next morning... I tend to charge my tab this way when I'm transfering large files from/to the sd card, plug in before going to bed and its charged come morning...
It says discharging in status when in USB. But I'll try it tonight.

i see somewhere that it work on USB when the screen is off.
Make sure you have the USB divers installed, you are using the original USB cable and that you are not using the tablet while trying to charge (leave plugged in over night). Should charge fine even with red x.

Turn the 10.1 completly off, then charge in USB. It will charge way faster than if it is on.
Wall charger provides 2000 mA, USB provides up to 500 mA.
It is a given that wall charger charges 4 times faster.
The reason why the cross is over the battery when charging from USB is because you are using more amps than the USB can charge as long as the screen stays on and the tablet is in use.

S3 charger does not produce 2000 mA (see the sticker on the charger)
Indeed charges pretty quickly when screen is off. Went from 58% to 80% while I was walking my dog (1.5 hours). I plugged it into my Lenovo T520 USB-3 port.

[Q] Charging when powered off

Just receieved moto g 16gb. Updated everything (there was no android update, only play store) and noticed something wierd.
If i shutdown my phone (not sleep but turn off) and plug in a charger or a computer moto g powers on and boots up.
Is this normal or not?
My previous phone (htc desire) would charge without booting up.
Interesting. I just tried this with mine but it doesn't boot. It just shows the Motorola logo and then shows how much it's charged already.
Germany and 8gb by the way.
I have seen several reports of this on various forums. Mine too had this - sometimes. I also had instances when it would not start charging when already switched on. My solution was to change my mains charger. Since then I've had no more issues but I'm not yet sure if this is just a coincidence.

Mine powers on even when i plug it into my laptop. I will be able to check other cables and chargers after 24 unfortunately.
it's definitely a charger issue, I've also seen people having the same problem on various forums & I can confirm that upon trying different chargers i have found one that is working as it should. :good:
I have the same issue on original usb cable connected to my laptop.
Its not a charger issue... It must be something else.
Mine also turns on if put it to charge while its off.

My Canadian 8gb also doesn't boot when I connect it to a wall charger or my laptop.
My phone also behaves as described in the OP; I can't find a way to charge it while keeping it off, which is pretty annoying when I need to charge it quickly. I've tried with it my computer's USB port and ASUS and Samsung and Nexus 4 LG OEM wall chargers, using various OEM cables. Pretty strange.
My UK version also boots when plugging in to charge. However it doesn't bother me as I've had numerous phone such as an iPhone which have done the same thing.

I'm concerned it might be somehow connected with issues others have - when battery is completely depleted some phones don't charge nor boot at all.
For me works with samsung (700 mah out), lg (700 mah out) and iphone (out 1500mah) charger.
Does it boot fully to the operating system? Or does it show bright white screen with Motorola logo and battery icon?
It shows bright white screen with battery icon.
Why in some case it restarts, what issue is? What cause boot?

yep,if I pressed power off when the phone connecting to the computer,it will automatically reboot.
It boots even if I only plug to some charger and computer, without any pressed key.

Slow charging? Please help!!!

Hi guys i have a little question my S6 charging very slow yesterday it was good but today when plug in the USB cable to charge it say 30% 4 hours to charge usually it is 2 hours 30 min, if i unplug the cable en plug it back in than it is normal 2 hours 30 min again but after 1 min it jumps to 4 hours if i try another cable stays the same. but i was looking for a fix some say if..
if you go to dialer app and type *#9900# and you get an list on the bottom of the page it says “Low Battery Dump” you can turn it on or off does some buddy know what this is and what does it do
I am on the latest beta 6.0.1 marshmallow Galaxy s6 G920F
I already had to change 3 cables because of fast charging not working.
Maybe your spare cable is defective too?
BTW, even 2:30h hours is too long. Normally a S6 takes 1:20h to charge from 0 to 100...

I changed the cable to but still the same if i pull down the notification panel its says use original cable and charger but is the one out of the box its very frustrating me and it says 4 hour to charge if i pull out the cable and putt it back in its good for 1 min and i get the message again use original cable and charger and again 4 hours do you guys think it is the cable because if i put the phone in fast charging mode in battery settings its working very good no issues only with normal charging gives the message use original cable and charger

it took 4 ours to fully charge from 30 to 100 % fast charging off.the weird thing is if i putt fast charge on its doing very well 50 min from 30 to 100 %. but the thing is i dont want it ti fast charge because the battery life will be bad if i use it every time or am i wrong ????
I had the same issue. Does MTP work when you connect your phone to your computer? If not, your S6's USB port is probably dead.
Hi, I had same problem. My S6 needed about 6 hours to charge. When I tried search forums etc, I tried to to push usb cable into charger and I found out, it is possible (I think, I inserted as was possible)... So now I am charging in cca 1,40 hours...

I think you shouldn't worry about fast charge unless you plan to stick with this phone for more than three years.
Also, fast charge is faster than normal only in the beginning of the charge cycle. As you get closer to 100, it slows down to preserve battery life.
Fast charge is made to give that fast boost when you're almost without battery on the go.

Their has to be a problem with the Samsung usb cables. Both of my Samsung fast chargers only use normal charging when using the Samsung usb cable. But when I use a different usb cable fast charging works every time.

Thats ridiculous... so youre telling me that we bought a $750 device and expected that everything inside the box would work properly but instead some or all of the samsung usb cable is faulty?

I mean if the usb cable is the problem
Wouldnt the issue still persist...? I dont see why i would send my phone in to warranty..
I know I have usb cables all over the place so it's not really a issue for me. Plus I have a fast wireless charger also which works great too.

[Q] Fast charging turned off on plugin

SM-G930F.
In Settings I have fast charging turned on. The moment I plug in the USB connector the toggle is greyed out and turned off. Unplugging leaves the toggle turned off.
Charging is slow: it took 2,5 hrs. to get from 50% to 100%. I do use the cable and charger which came with the phone.
Has anybody seen this? Any ideas?
No one?

Well I suggest you do a backup of your data and do a factory reset without a restore restore from Google or samsung accounts. Then try if you can fast charge your phone, if you can't, it's possible your phone have a hardware failure. First try to charge another s7 with our charger and cable!
