I just inherited a US Verizon Xoom 4G LTE + WiFi that was apparently bricked a while back. It was running Android 4, but not 4.1 or 4.2. They weren't sure which exact version, just that it was pre 4.1. It was originally a 3G+WiFI and was sent in for the 4G LTE upgrade a while back. When you power it on, it stops at the Red M logo. I have no idea what was attempted before but hope someone here can help me at least get it back to stock. For reference, I am using a Windows 8 PC. I do have the Motorola drivers installed and the Android SDK installed to C:\SDK-Tools.
If I hold Volume Up and Power, it reboots and says "Starting RSD protocol support 3. Onewire: Charger is not connected or battery is not being charged... Battery charge Level: 100% (the charger is plugged in, btw). I have it connected to the pc via the oem usb cable. When I plug the cable in, windows recognizes the device and device manager shows and Motorola USB Device->Motorola Flash Device is connected. I installed RDS Lite v5.6.4 (also tried 5.7. Haven't found anything newer) and ran it as Adminitrator but it does not show anything in device properties when I click Show Device no matter which port I select. If I reboot (Power + Vol up) then immediately press Vol up when the Red M shows, it boots into fastboot mode (Starting Fastboot protocol support is displayed). If I run fastboot devices from the command line, the device and id is listed. So I know that windows can see it. ADB commands also appear to work when I let it boot normally and it sticks at the Red M.
Any idea why RSD Lite would not be able to connect to the device? I have downloaded this firmware - VZW_MZ602_signed_IMM76L_signed_vzw_MDM6600_03.1A.6 5_signed_usr_LTEDC_U_07.1F.00.combo.sbf\VZW_MZ602_ signed_IMM76L_signed_vzw_MDM6600_03.1A.65_signed_u sr_LTEDC_U_07.1F.00.combo.sbf in the hopes of restoring it with RSD Lite, but of course I cannot get it to connect.
My ultimate intention is to get some rom with at least android 4.1, possibly 4.2, installed so I can test some apps we use at work. Thanks in advance for any help.
Ok, so I figured this out. I did not realize RSD Lite would not work with USB 3.0 ports. That was all I had open on my computer so plugged in there. Unhooked another device, plugged into a USB 2.0 port in the device was instantly recognized. I was able to push the image and all booted back up fine, on Android 4.0.4.
Now I am off to find how to put CM 10.1 on here.....unless someone knows a simple way to do that

I wanted to use nvflash to bring back to clean slate. Could not get the USB driver issue resolved in Windos 7 or XP, Read the threads, just did not work. Also noticed that the USB connect to the GTablet stopped working, it woriked fine for before trying adp. Tried Linux and the device is not seen using LSUSB did see the device is I tried via USB debugging mode. I power on and hold the vol- button see boot screen then unit goes black. No usb connect to PC either after trying.
Reset the device to stock with CWM and PC USB comes back. Is there a utility or something to check the ADP functionality at boot level, has anyone had USB issues that can help? Is it a possible hardware issue?

Try USBDeview: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Disconnect the G Tablet from your PC. Then run USBDeview as administrator (i.e. right click and Run as Administrator in Windows 7). Then uninstall any drivers related to the G Tablet.
Now plug in G Tablet and it should be detected again and you can point it at a properly working ADB driver on your PC.
Have done that, but it seems that it is something on the GTablet that is causing the error. When is is malfunctioning no USB connections work and driver issues pop up, after set to factory the USB works and driver issue for storage go away.
So far I can tell that adp mode from power and vol - unroots my tab and I can not connect to pc. After re-rooting I can connect. Linux can not see device in adp mode.
Update. Returned the unit to sears for a new one and problem solved. I must of had a clinker.
Hello,
I own ZTE Maxi plus 5 device. It is a Android and Firefox OS device (also known as Unagi). I unwisely flashed geeksphone Firefox OS firmware. Now my phone is bricked, I'm trying to enter fastboot mode (via Volume Up + Powe button) but I only receive "waiting for device" message when running fastboot.exe. When I run adb.exe, device is not listed. I think that USB on device is not working - there is no message about driver installation in Windows, in Linux dmesg doesn't show any devices when connecting USB cable. Is i possible to enter fastboot and flash stock firmware? Recovery mode is also not working (i see only splash screen, same as in fastboot mode).
Thanks, best regards,
Bricked after firmware upgrade?
I have a Vido N101RK 10.1 inch Quad Core RK3188.
I upgraded the firmware with the RKbatchtool.
All went fine and it succeded.
But now, the tablet won't startup anymore. The screen keeps black.
What can I do?
P.S. I can run phone in download mode, but I don't have right mbn files. Seems that the phone model number is "P752TV".
Hi everyone!!! Last week i tried to upgrade my ICS stock rom with jellybean, but my phone powered down! Now the Pantech doesn't power up. No bootloader, no fastboot. The computer doesn't recognize the device (i have all drivers installed on). but, when i connect for the first time the usb cable, my pc installs the QHSUSB_LOAD drivers, and then, after 2-3 seconds, it gives to me an error (exclamation mark)in the Device Manager for this driver. It displays an error also to the pantech ADB interface. My Phone is dead. I connect usb cable and it gives three quick sounds (no device connected). HELP Me, please!!! Thank you! Alf :crying::crying:
Pantech Discover JB Bricked too
I am in the same boot, had CWM and rooted with JB and all was fine so I decided to try a custom ROM and when it tried to reboot, it never came back on. When I plug into PC get QHSUSB_DLOAD as hardware but not able to show up in ADB of Fastboot. Please help.
Afternoon all,
Have been out of the rom'ing scene for a while...
I have a number of devices (Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Nexus 7 2012, to be exact), that I want to flash a new ROM onto (the Tab's stuck in a boot loop, the N7's due for Dirty Unicorns Nougat Rom).
All pretty straight forward - I've done it in the past - BUT...
Can I get Windows 10 to even *see* new hardware's been connected, let alone recognize it?
Can I fook
To confirm, I plug the USB between the PC and the device, and all that shows this is connected is that the device realises it's being charged, no "ding ding" from Windows, no USB confirmation from the device...
Both devices have USB Debugging enabled.
Have tried different USB cables
Have tried different USB ports
Have tried - many! - different USB drivers, including that from both Asus and Google's own dev kit.
Have ADB installed, "adb devices" shows no devices (blank).
The thing that's really pi**ing me off is that this is such a basic thing to be stuck by, I really cant figure out what I'm missing!
Any help appreciated gents...

Windows 10 is very buggy. Download lobit Drive Booster to see if you are missing any driver for your pc. Your pc is probably missing some drivers for the motherborad or outdated. If this does not work, clean install windows 10. Let windows 10 install all the drivers for you while it is installing. Best method. Good internet connection required.
its damn easy, the problem lies in Windows, just boot into repairmodus/system recovery its the blue menu for troubleshooting, there u choose Startup Setting and there u choose number 7,thats for disabling the digital driver signature checking, after the reboot all is fine, boot note u must do it everytime new after reboot.
please next ask and post in right section, thanx.
Nvidia USB driver (ADB and Fastboot) is the only one that works for me

Hi all,
So I have a strange problem, a while back I discovered that I can't connect my S6 to my computer and or other computers, whatever usb cable I use the device is not detected at all. and only charging works.
I already tried more USB cables and validated they work with other devices, I also discovered the USB is not detected in fastboot mode, so I can't flash any images anymore over USB.
I also discovered that I might have flashed a wrong stock rom a few months back and I never tried to connect it to the USB in the meanwhile, when I trace the baseband version it says it's Asian..:crying: And this device is a dutch PHN. The device has ADB working over WIFI and root enabled, it also has TWRP installed and even there MTP is not working!
However i'm afraid there is no way I can flash a stock rom back to the device without a working fastboot, unless there are flashable zips.
What do you guys think?
- MTP does not work
- Fastboot works but USB is not detected (odin, device manager etc).. with all kinds of cables.
- ADB Shell + Root Works (Only over wifi)
- I got a full backup of all partitons, created it with TWRP.
- It's stull running android 5.1.1
Best Regards,
Toetje

I can´t belive it, someone who has the same problem then me. A little wierd is that I got 2 phones here.... Got my S6 which I´m using atm and some days ago a friend gave me a A5. Actually the A5 has exactly the same problem and one more problem is, that the "Home Button" of the phone is not working. No chance to root it at all.
It was like this.... I came back home with the A5 and first I thought about was rooting it. Restarted and tryed to go into "Recovery Mode" which wasn´t working, same as going into "Download Mode". So my first thought was that some of the buttons arn´t working. I was right, it was the home button which is without any function. My next idea was rooting over Laptop with Odin. Enabled USB Debbuging, connected a data cable..... and usb connection was not working... only charging!
After like a minute of trying and no success I wen´t eat first. When I came back i tryed again and USB Debbuging asked me to accept the Laptop. (Till now I didn´t thought about that it could be my first and my last time I will have a working USB connection.)
I wen´t into "Recovery Mode" thought about restarting cuz I wanted to go into "Download Mode". So I restarted and that was FATAL.... since then I had no chance anymore till yet to get a working USB connection. No matter which PC, Laptop, USB / Data-Cabel. And since the "Home Button" is not working, I don´t even know how to get Root.
Right now I´m asking myself if it could be a Firmware related problem?! I mean, when my friend gave me the phone there wasn´t the newest update installed on it so I just updated it. It´s a A500FU running stock Android 6.0.1 newest DBT Firmware..... and also I´m not able to change it without having a working USB connection.
Greets!

I ordered a new USB port board, will let you know the results!
Any results after changing the usb port?
Did fast charge still work for you? And this replacing the USB port work? I think this is related to a broken USB ic. For me replacing the USB port didn't help
Sometimes it's a bad charging port and / or liquid damage to the charging port.
If your home button clicks but does not work it could be liquid damage near the home button. Same goes for power and volume buttons.
I just fixed a S6 edge plus yesterday power button not working, liquid damage all around power button area, fixed burnt components and corroded pins.
