I don't wanna mess up my tablet testing things out so does anyone know what the best profile is? I don't play games but I do look at YouTube often
Also does anyone know how to remove the blue tile affect on the home screen? I'm using Nova
Thanks
Need more info. Are you stock? If not, do you run a custom kernel?
I used to use kickassv2 governor for overclocking at 1504MHz using KAT kernel, which is pretty awesome. But you need an overclockable kernel.

I have eos and kat.
Check my sig for the overclock link. Then use kickassv2 (or is it smartassv2? I forget...) from the governors list.

I was wondering what do you mean in your sig about the speakers? Does EOS not support both speakers?

lol yeah, I have the infamous "left speaker issue". but the new balance option in KAT app helps a little, just need MORE boost!

Hey guys,
So I just compiled the nexus s kernel from source and flashed it on my phone. Now I want to tweak things up a bit. I was wondering though, what are some of the major things that one should change if he or she wants to build a custom kernel?
Thanks!
Overclock, governors, undervolting, CIFS, TUN, Maybe sexy boot animations? , BLN, voodoo color and sound, 1000hz, coolbho300's sleep fix, NFS, BFS builds.
Maybe support for more touches than 5?
SBC (only if you know what you are doing)
Hi,
Thanks for your input. I just want to undervolt it and include the voodoo sound and color for now. How exactly can I accomplish this?
Thanks!

Or just read the guide by supercurio on how to implement Voodoo Color -_-
Can you give me the link to the guide?

Haha sorry, thanks for the links!

Yeah, and the undevolt?
So I read setcpu is not necessary with cm7 since it's already implemented with the rom. I'm just wondering why some people still use setcpu with it, are there any benefits?
I'm running latest version of cm7 with stock kernel.
*I'm also wondering what kernels you all use with cm7?
SetCPU has way more features than CM7's built-in CPU Governor.
With SetCPU, you're able to set custom CPU profiles to lower CPU Usage In-Call, when the screen is off, or when the battery hits a certain percentage... etc.
You're also able to control undervoltage in SetCPU (If you're using a custom kernel)
Thank you, so I can run them both simultaneously or is it possible to close the built in one?

I don't think it's possible to remove the CM7 Governor, but you can just use SetCPU with no problems at all.
Are you using CM7 as well? What kernel are you running it with?

Just disable the 'set on boot' setting in the CM7 settings and enable 'set on boot' in setCPU

I realize you didn't ask me, but for reference, I'm running CM7 with faux's 0.4.2 kernel.

I'm running Nightly build 154 with Faux 0.4.2 with SV and DS battery driver...i get performance and great battery life. I use SETCpu and I've been OC'd @ 1.4 for about 3hrs now and my battery has only gone down 2% with mild texting and no overheating. My battery's temp has been constant at around 88-90 degrees.
If you're looking for the right Kernel...Faux's 0.4.2 with SV and DS battery driver is the way to go.

I wanted to use that but doesn't DS have the weird battery fluctuation? How is that? Is it manageable?

It was weird at first...but i all i did was re-flash the kernel and fix permissions...and that solved the problem for me.

So technically all you did was reflash it? I just flashed the kernel and the battery is jumping from 41 to 44 to 47. Can you please tell me your exact steps :3
Wipe cache wipe dalvik flash kernel then go to advanced and fix permissions...enjoy

Aw man I really wanted it to work but I tried your method and it just jump from 59 - 61
can someone post a link to the faux's OC kernel the CM one...the link in the original thread is dead...
Sensation chip is not on the list of SetCpu 2.2.4 even though the post say yes.
Can't find MSM8X60. And I can't change the speed. Maximum is only up to 528MHz no longer 1.5GHz... Help!
OK, first off, this should be in q and a section. Second, did you select autodetect?? I use setcpu regularly and always use the autodetect option.

Your kernel probably doesn't support it.
Which ROM/Kernel are you using?

Yeah, you're most likely using a stock kernel that doesn't support over clocking and under clocking. Usually is the case when that happens with setcpu

Well, I'm using stock rom. There's no autodetect options for me to choose. If I want change back to normal frequency then how to do it?

Hi, I'm using stock rom. I must use custom rom to use the setcpu app?
I'd recommend flashing a custom rom, as you get far more options to choose from - more freedom as well. If it truly does become clocked at 500ish Mhz, just uninstall SetCPU and you should be set.

My Linux version is 2.6.35.13-gedc56fa([email protected])(gcc version 4.4.0). Looks like I'm in deep trouble now. About this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159206 how to push the kernel module to my device? Will this solve my problem?
the only way you will be able to overclock you're device is by rooting then flashing a custom kernel...

Hi, as the title says, I want to know which kernel should I choose for my tablet. I want the maximum autonomy, overclocking options and undervolting predisposition..of course I would have the maximum performance. Thank you.

First off, it depends on your model number. Why not peruse the dev forums for your device--7" or 10"--first?
I would suggest to go for aokp rom as I have myself tested it. I I have overclocked my p3100 over 1420mhz without any problem. I but just a warning the more you overclock your tab will be heated up fast so just don't set the speed to set on boot. And a common thin the more you overclock you will get less battery life. Or else you set to go..

Hi, I am running slimbean 4.3.1 and the blackhawk kernel on my p5113. I have successfully oc'd the CPU (its in the settings so it was easy). However, I don't see where I can set the GPU to a certain frequency. I have done a lot of searching, but without results.
Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks!

brother you can only overclock cpu not gpu
only what you can do regarding gpu is that you can check force gpu rendering settings in developer options

I disagree with you partially, you can oc gpu too. You can do it by changing manually which i did last time months ago because i have been using TricksterMOD, but it seems like after 2.1.5(?) update to kernel you can't do it anymore with it, so i use older version of next kernel what op is using.
EDIT: Actually i solved the problems and now it works with latest version using TricksterMOD!
Btw im on Cm 10.2 as you can see.
