[Q] Sensation chip is not on the list of SetCpu 2.2.4 - HTC Sensation

Sensation chip is not on the list of SetCpu 2.2.4 even though the post say yes.
Can't find MSM8X60. And I can't change the speed. Maximum is only up to 528MHz no longer 1.5GHz... Help!

OK, first off, this should be in q and a section. Second, did you select autodetect?? I use setcpu regularly and always use the autodetect option.
Sent from my Sensation using Tapatalk

Your kernel probably doesn't support it.
Which ROM/Kernel are you using?

This. Most custom kernels in here work just fine.

Yeah, you're most likely using a stock kernel that doesn't support over clocking and under clocking. Usually is the case when that happens with setcpu

Well, I'm using stock rom. There's no autodetect options for me to choose. If I want change back to normal frequency then how to do it?

Hi, I'm using stock rom. I must use custom rom to use the setcpu app?

I'd recommend flashing a custom rom, as you get far more options to choose from - more freedom as well. If it truly does become clocked at 500ish Mhz, just uninstall SetCPU and you should be set.

My Linux version is 2.6.35.13-gedc56fa([email protected])(gcc version 4.4.0). Looks like I'm in deep trouble now. About this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159206 how to push the kernel module to my device? Will this solve my problem?

the only way you will be able to overclock you're device is by rooting then flashing a custom kernel...

Does anyone know how to get pimp my CPU to keep settings after reboot? I set everything up. Saved it as a profile and selected load at boot and selected the profile but after reboot the settings don't stick. Any ideas?

This is from the OP in the pimp my cpu thread: "To restore settings at boot you'll also need a kernel with fake "init.d" support."
I'm not sure what that is, but I'm assuming this kernel doesn't have it. At least yet.

Quick question. Is this accurate?
I'm having same problem with Faux123's Latest kernel and also Morfic's Latest kernel running Latest CM7

Help! SetCPU

Setcpu FC's on me everytime i open it. Also at startup which option should i choose. There are a bunch of different phones (g2x not listed)
Not sure about the FC thing but you should choose the option that says something about Tegra 2.
G2X CM7
use recommended settings. and if your kernel doesnt oc you probably dont need to use setcpu.
No tegra 2. Theres [ARM] and [Custom frequencies] in running Faux's kernel

You can still use it to setup profiles. I run a screen off profile to keep the processor speed down when the screen is off. Helps with battery life.
G2X CM7
When you FIRST run the app it asks you to select an option out of like 10 and they're all different proccesors. Which should i select. I selected custom and [ARM] and they both FC'd after i hit them

want to root and overclock my ns4g without a ROM

I want to root and overclock my ns4g but I don't want a ROM is this possible? I'm running 2.3.5 and I just came from a epic 4g, what is the safest kernel and speed? Thank you.
What do you mean you don't want a ROM?
You are running a stock ROM lol. However, you can continue to run it and flash kernels without using a custom ROM

Yeah I meant non custom, ok just wanted to make sure because on my old epic you had to be careful about what kernel you used some for ext4 and some rfs, anyone recommend a fast kernel for a stock ROM?

Tsugi Rom-Anyone have access to UV rom?

Hey guys,
Searched the original page here, couldn't find an answer. So here's my question. Now that the US govt has done it and shut down websites, I was just wondering, would anyone happen to have a copy of the Tsugi ROM that's been undervolted?
If not, could someone point me to guides on how to undervolt and maybe even the ideal settings for overclocking using setcpu?
Thanks in advance!
You can get the Tsugi UV kernel on ROM Manager.

Questions from a noob. Is this different from the undervolted file? What do I do with each file? Substitute them for the installation guide on the front page of the tsugi rom guide?
the one that i linked to on 2shared is the overclocked undervolted file. ideally you should flash the ROM first through CWM, and then the kernel through CWM. try the undervolted file, if its stable, then keep it, if its not stable, try the one that is just overclocked and not undervolted.

Kinda new to the world of flashing. How do you distinguish between the rom and the kernel?
in the development thread for the G2x, the rom threads start with [ROM], that would be the easiest way.

Wait. So that file you gave me. Does it have the rom and kernel, or just one?
ETA: The link the dev provides here has a download link to a "smartinstaller." is that the ROM? And the oyasumi 0.1 UV is the kernel, right?
Gah. This is stuff is confusing but interesting to learn!

correct, the TSUGI rom has a smart installer that does everything for you. it simply installs the ROM. afterwards, its suggested that you get the oyasumi KERNEL.
ROM is most analogous to an operating system, and kernel allows the operating system to interact with the hardware. you need to install the two separately. ROM first, and then kernel.

How about creating a separate thread for that question instead of hijacking mine? Or better yet, search around. I've chosen to use Tsugi because of its reputation for stability and battery life.
Sorry I'm new to this obviously thanks for the help

[KERNEL] Overclocked kernel compiled from source

Attached is a quick compile of the newly released kernel source.
The only thing I have changed so far is to add 3 overclocked frequencies.
source is here:
https://github.com/dzo/kernel_ville
Flash it from CWM version 5.8.3.1 or later
It boots at 1.8GHz
Does wifi work alright with this?
This is for Eu one s?
Flashed on BlackDragon v5.0 with DualCore Mod already in place...now o/c'ed at 1.8GHz. Thanks for the (extremely quick!!!) work, mate!!
On trickdroid 3.0 us, just flashed zip and am over locked and ready to rumble.

I was/am on my wifi connection all day, and it had no effect on connection after flash. I have data turned off when I'm in the house (since it's so spotty anyway and I pay for the wifi). I think you're safe.
How's the battery life after flashing?

For me, I would like this kernel in the future, implement some other CPU governors such as SmartassV2 or Savedgen etc. Also, some more I/O schduler such as VR or simple or SIO.
And please overclock the GPU!
I think that one most important mod is overclock and undervolt and later custom governor and I/O scheduler!
hi, kenrel doe not work for CM9...i think it is the boot img...
CM9 is different to stock.... wouldn't work

you where quick there... didn't think you had already done a kernel from source. Thank you for that work.
I am sorry but for me the Kernel does not show more frequencies in SetCPU.
I am running Leedroid 2.1 on an EU phone with htcdev unlock and cid changed to htc germany.
The kernel installed without errors trying both CWM 5.8.3.1 Touch and no Touch.
It simply does not go above 1512 Mhz.
Ideas?

What kernel version does it report, it should say 3.0.8-g8bd784d [email protected] If not, it hasn't flashed correctly.
Try booting or installing it using fastboot instead.

Nevermind. Used LeeDroid's boot image flasher to learn the commands. Thanks for your work. Kernel is working good. Will no observe its impact on battery drain and performance.

Just flashed thru CWMR and working well. Using No frills CPU to set overclock and governor. Running awesome with no hiccups at 1.8. I have a US phone running Leedroid also with EU radio( getting better signal than US).
