[Q] Phone wont turn on? - Samsung Infuse 4G

I recently flashed the cyber s4 rom and i like it. The only problem i have is that everytime i turn my phone off, it wont turn back on unless i connect it to a charger, even if the battery isnt dead. Also my battery has been dying quickly.
Is this a hardware issue, battery issue, rom or anything?

Did you do full wipes when flashing the rom, try reflashed again and do full wipes, clear cache and fix permission.

i agree with super, but to clearify a FULL wipe is doing the following:
wiping cache
wiping d-cache
factory reset
wiping system
then you flash the rom, it is so far one of the "cleanest" ways of rom installation

I did a full wipe and i was just waiting for an upfate on the rom to flasg since i rarely turn off the phone. New update is up so im going to flash and see if the problem persists.

sounds like you needed to factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache/fix permissions before you flashed, some people say fix permissions isnt needed but in my experience it helps with things like this

[Q] Wifi Error

Sorry if this has already been posted.
My phone is rooted on stock rom.
It started freezing up and wouldnt send text messages. GO sms locked me out. I had to take the battery out and restart several times. Now i cant connect to any wifi. In wifi settings it just says error. Any ideas what could be wrong?
your best bet is probably to flash back to stock OS...i dunno if there is a one click for inspire
or you could flash a rom :]...this was probably a weird glitch that would go away with a simple full flash
Why not start with doing a factory reset?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
I think he already did that, but if that doesn't work, try restoring your entire phone to stock...idk if there is a one click Odin for inspire like there is for Galaxy S models
Thats what I was thinking about doing. Will try that this weekend when I have time. Thanks!

There's a guide stickied to this section that believe has the link to the RUU, which is what you might try, though I think going the RUU route will unroot you.

Full wipe reflash should do it.

yep I would try wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe delvik cache and a clean install of the rom
Flashed CoreDroid didnt fix the problem
would flashing a new radio fix the problem?
Did you have any luck with this? Im having the same issue and debating whether or not I should flash back to stock to see if this resolves the issue. I have flashed countless ROMs since root with no luck.
My phone is doing the same thing. Not sure when it started doing it since I don't use wifi often. I wanted to check for updates and the HTC one requires WIFI be on, thats how I found out.
My phone is completely stock, with only Apps installed. Factory reset made it say something about connecting for 10 seconds or so before saying error, and now once again it just says error every time i try to enable it.

(Q) One Last Grasp: The Lose Data, Lose APN CM code bug

After reading thread upon thread and flashing rom upon rom, wiping and nullifying the way along. I still have this issue that many of you are aware and just hoping by chance I may have missed the answer and someone can help me.
I am experiencing the bug where if you lose data, whether it be by switching to airplane mode and back, shutting of the phone, not rebooting it, or just a drop in coverage, when it comes back the APN list is cleared and can no longer connect to any data. Calls and texts seem to go through, but surfing and picture messaging don't work until the phone is rebooted, normally or through the button combo.
I've tried wiping everything several times, even uses the nullifier dual wipe twice and it still happens. I've tried all kinds of roms, 2 different MIUI, Eaglesblood, Kang Banger, Weapon, they all do the same thing. The only thing that "works" is restoring my very first stock nandroid. But once I go from that, wipe, and flash another, the problem returns. If it matters, my order of rom flashing was stock then Singh MIUI-GalNet MIUI-Kang Banger-EaglesBlood-Weapon-Singh. All gingerbread roms (I believe).
So if anyone can offer me just the slightest of solutions, it will be so very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
When you saying "wiping"...what exactly are you wiping?

I've worked pm with him, he's wiping system, cacheS, data, flashes zips then boots and then reboots later and fixes permissions. He still gets data drops and loss of apn's.

Yeah mt3g has been a real help, but we're stumped. I wipe the data, wipe the cache, wipe the davlik cache, format the data cache and system, flashed, wait 20 minutes, reboot and fix permissions, reboot and wait again. Even flashed different kernels. All to no avail. And for some odd reason, I use T-Mobile, but I have Simple in my APN list as well and I think that leads to the issue.
I noticed Harsh's latest Kernel fixed the issue for me.

Why are you bringing up a kernel that is for cm9 when the discussion is about cm7?

Yeah, that would cause a whole new set of problems huh? lol

Synergy rom

What would happen if I didn't wipe before flashing? And do I need to flash the 12.2 kernel
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure what would happen. It would probably be less stable or not work... You could always try it though.
You do not need to flash any kernel. Only flash LeanKernel if you want to. If you don't want to mess with BusyBox, I'd wait on the kernel.

From my experience on other devices when flashing ROMs and not wiping I would almost always bootloop. Again that is my general experience. I would assume there would be similar results.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I usually backup the current ROM first, then factory reset before wiping cache. I end up with good results that way. The only time I installed a ROM without wiping, it was unstable.
Well, I tried flashing it, and it seemed to work. This is without the wipe.. But the only thing I found incorrect was that the wifi notification didn't go away. That was an easy fix though.
Should the battery life be noticeably better?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yeah I was kind of retarded the other day and forgot to wipe. I was greeted with a nice bootloop until I pulled the battery and tried again (this time the correct way) then everything worked great..
I haven't wiped for any of the Synergy builds and my phone is running great Running Imos kernel too. Awesome battery life from this thing
So.. Even though I didn't get a boot loop after flashing without the wipe... Do you guys think I should just wipe and flash again?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I'd say if it's working then leave it be..

A wipe may not be completely necessary but if you do run into problems (FCs, etc.) and post a problem the devs or users are going to ask if you did a full wipe or not - and then recommend that you do one. In the end it wouldn't hurt to wipe even if you are fully functional.
I used to hate wiping all the time but with the proper backup applications it doesn't take long at all. I use Titanium Backup to backup apps and then also do in app backups for specific things like nova launcher, minimalistic text, and gosms,

[Q] Rebooting Problem

So my phone has been randomly rebooting and sleeping indefinitely quite often over the past two weeks. I was just wondering if there is a simple fix to this that won't require any backup or anything. It isn't a huge deal to me right now, and if it requires backing up things then I will probably just wait until I'm ready to do a full ROM wipe and re-install.
Why can't you do a backup in your recovery. You must have a custom recovery if you're thinking of a clean rom install. Back it up and do a factory reset.

As I stated in the original post, if there isn't a solution that doesn't require a backup, then I will just do a clean install when I get around to it. Right now, I'm just looking for general trouble shooting that may lead to a quick fix.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
I don't think there is one other than reboot. You can try to clear the caches in recovery and that may help
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
If I clear something such as the dalvik cache, will I lose anything like text messages or contacts?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Contacts, no. I'm not sure on the text messages.

Do a full wipe and reinstall with a updated ROM or new DL of the old one. Backup your contacts of course but if you want to do something simple then boot into recovery a wipe cache then dalvik then fix permissions

no, you will lose nothing when clearing both caches, it cleans the cobwebs out, very safe todo and recommended, but wont solve every issue, recomendation is to start fresh with the issues you have, what rom are you on now

I figured as much, but I just really don't feel like doing a full, fresh start. I'm not sure exactly which ROM anymore. I've been running it for over 6 months and I think it was basically a beta type thing when I installed. To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised it lasted this long without a full wipe.

goto settings>about to see what rom you are on
the reason to start fresh is to check for hardware problems
there is no quick fix for what you have
As it turns out, my problem was a usb cable that was shorting out. I finally noticed that it happened almost every time I plugged the cable in to charge the phone. As soon as I plugged it in, the phone would freeze and then black screen.

Reboot frequently and data/setting lost

My phone is meeting a issue of high frequently reboot, and when after reboot, some app lost it's data, and some system settings are restored, such as wifi password lost.
I tried going back to stock rom, but this issue still happens.
So, can anyone who knows what is wrong with my phone?

Sounds like a corruption during flashing of the ROM. Try wiping all data/cache and Dalvic cache, and flash again.

I have tried several ROMs included Stock ROM, it all happens so...
I think it has no relation with ROM.
If it's happening on all roms, including stock, it's most likely a hardware issue. I'd warranty the device
