[SOLVED] Hardware info layer on home screen, no sim unlock, why ? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi every one:
Since my last problems, every stock rom i flash display a layer on home screen: semi transparent background, with yellow fonts displaying some kinf of "about device" screen (modules versions, hardware capability, batterie status, etc). It disappears when i launch any apps, but comes back as soon as i enter home screen again. This layer is transparent to touch: touches are forwarded to elements under.
My phone never asks for sim unlock neither.
However, i'm fine with cm10.1: no layer, simcard unlocks.
I've just restocked, flashed my device up to boot.img with stock CLL2/CLJ3 , but this changes nothing.
Any idea what is this ?
Edit: Found solution here.

[Q] Sensation XE - display not working after waterdamage

Hello,
My phone was waterdamged and stop working completly.
I opened the case and tried to dry it.
after 48 hours of trying various stuff, there is blank screen, but:
1. The phone is booting fine, charging led is working.
2. Using Wondershare-Mobilego, i can backup all the content.
3.The touch interface seems to be working fine, i can see the menus via mobilego duplicate screen (can open the sms box or whatsapp and etc.)
4.Incoming messages keep coming...
I`m so frustrated that i`m using the phone blindly or like remote desktop.
Is it software of hardware fault?
THANKS

After water damage you can only expect hardware damage. to verify - when turning on the device, do you see anything on the screen? you can also reboot to bootloader (via the key combination or via the command adb reboot bootloader (and to reboot back to android use fastboot reboot).
If the bootloader shows nothing, 100% hardware (although there is really no need to check, probably is). You can try changing screen, but the problem could also be in the socket (but I think if it were the socket the phone would not even boot). Worth a try.
Thanks, but no good...still blank screen - no display.
As i mentioned, the phone is functioning well (as seen at duplicate screen).
When you offering to change screen, you mean the lcd touch digitizer only?
I don`t need to buy the screen itself, right?
(I can`t parse outside links yet from ebay)

I mean the LCD itself. If touch is working, the problem is the LCD itself, not the digitizer.
You right, it seems that the touch working fine.
You think that a LCD display screen replacement would be the best try? can you paste a link from ebay please?

[Q] Screen On Issues

I just made a bunch of mods and now I'm having trouble getting the screen to turn on. Here's what I did:
1) Unlock boot loader (Used Android Toolkit)
2) Root (Same kit as above)
3) TWRP (Same as above)
4) Installed center clock mod (This one)
5) Installed smaller DPI nav bar (This one)
6) Installed 4-in-1 reboot (This one)
After all were finished, once my screen turns off, I see it kind of light up again (though still blank) and if you press the power button, the lock screen flashes on for a moment and then automatically shut off again. All the way off. A brief moment later, I seen the screen come back on but blank.
I read there was a possible compatibility issue between the center clock and small DPI mods so I removed them. Still have the issue. I can't see how the 4-in-1 could affect the screen.
Any ideas? I search but couldn't find anything close to the issue.
Thanks
Here's a video. Hopefully the screen off but really on glow comes thru the vid.
I had too many issues so wiped back to stock.
The toolkit has a few bugs.
The center clock and small DPI nav bar apps had compatibility issues.
I was not able to revert back to stock with the 4-in-1 app.
Apparently there are still some issues with the toolkit ver 1.1. From my little investigating, I think there's a simple typo in the programming and it's looking for an older version of SuperSU (1.65 vs 1.69).
I'm back to stock, unlocked and rooted. Screen/display works.
I have no idea what broke or how it broke but it's back to normal now.
Turns out my issue was with Light Flow. Not sure on the exact steps to get this to happen. But after 2 wipes and one rebuild without any restoring, I can get the issue to duplicate.
I personally believe it has something to to with being rooted and having the app use rooted options.

[Q] sim pin screen problem

can't find this info anywhere but please redirect me to appropriate page if i've missed it.
using android 5.1 DU test-v9.2 on nexus 5 32Gb
this has been stable for a few weeks until i changed themes today. i backedup via cwm up after installing theme, on reboot i can't get past screen for sim pin.
i press the onscreen keys, the keys show they have been pressed, but there is no sound or vibration and the numbers don't appear above the keypad.
as i can't get past this i can't use the phone.
changing to the last good backup does not fix this.
I've had to do a factory format and reinstall to get back to a working phone. Though it occurred to me in the middle of the process i could remove the sim and change the settings back.
anyone know what's going on? I suspect it may have something to do with fonts but have nothing to base that on.
thanks

Black screen but phone boots, Z3.

Hello All,
Basically what happened is this:
I got phone D6603 with "Vodafone protect" lock on and owner gave me a possible code for phone. I replaced screen and then found that lock requires only numeric pin, not what I was given. So, he then reset pin and deactivated lock, but I still had it on no matter what. So, I tried to flash new firmware into it for same phone and got it done, but now phone screen stays black all the time with only backlight on. Phone seemingly loads something (probably the new phone welcome screen after flash), which I cannot see, but when connected to computer from fastboot or something then all system files are visible.
When I boot phone from off position, it boots to a point where I can use side button to switch on and off the screen but touch does not respond because nowhere it reacts to touch or maybe I do not know where and what to click on screen.
What could be the likely solution? I do not think that phone is bricked, but something is wrong with system as it does not light up the screen properly. I tired flashing 2 times successfully with same result.
Any advice would e appreciated.
Hi, can this thread be deleted because I am getting phone swapped and thread no longer relevant? Thanks.

Blue band with time and date on lock screen

Hi,
I recently installed Lineage OS (14.1-20180118-unofficial-KS01LTEXX) on my S4 (i9506). All has gone beautifully and the phone seems to be operating without issue. Twice now though, my phone has reverted to a black screen with a 2 cm blue section at the top showing time and date in white text. I can use the power button to switch it on and off, but the only way to get my phone back to normal operation is to do a hard reboot (power and home button). Does anyone have familiarity with this behaviour?
For anyone who stumbles upon this issue: It's the flip-cover option acting up. Just turn it off via Settings > Device > Flip Cover
