[Q] Missing apps and accounts - HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
This morning i tried to open XDA app on my Vipers 1.6.3 powered Sensation and it said the "App is not available" or something similar.
I tried to see if the app is there in Apps under settings and to my surprise the app was not there as well.
Later the phone automatically rebooted and now i am missing all the accounts.
Has anyone faced anything similar? Is internal memory going bad?
Any tools to test internal memory?
Thanks,

Media scanner is running?

Recently my phone wont allow me to open either my camera or gallery and the message of 'Media scanner is running will appear'.
Does anybody know what I can do to stop this from happening? I've searched a bit and haven't found any definitive solutions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It has to complete before you can use files on external sd card. The bigger the card, and the more files on the card the longer it takes.

Its been like this for several days and it has never done this before. What exactly is it doing?

Also, I am unable to open the market. When I do a force close comes up for android.process.media. This is very annoying :/ I haven't downloaded anything new or change any system settings recently before this problem starting occurring

Trying scanning that sd card with a desktop. Under Windows7 after you insert the sd card, click on, Computer>(your sd card)>(right click)>properties>tools>error checking>Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors (option)>start. After it completes put it back into the phone and see if the scanning media message goes away.

Didn't work
There isn't actually any apparent message in my notification bar or anywhere else that says the media scanner is running. Unless I try opening my camera or gallery is when a small message appears that says "Media Scanner is running"
Even when I try to add a new alarm it says android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly and I have to force close. This is getting frustrating :\
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
The media scanner is disabled - grab media scanner root from the market and re-enable then the process will complete. If you are not rooted, or upgraded and lost root (like me) then a factory restore will clear that setting.

Are there any other alternatives to doing a factory reset? I would but I'm unable to open mybackup pro due to the media scanner running as well and I have some apps that are not saved in my market apps and are no longer available on the market either. I would rather do a factory reset as a last resort in this case.
Any other suggestions? Thanks again for everyone who has provided feedback regarding my problem, I really appreciate it

I think that the factory reset is your only fix for this or like the dude said try to root and cant you go to your google account and go to the dashboard and make sure everything is synced? I noticed that when I did az factory reset alot of my apps are gone but if I look on my pc on chrome go to market and check my account it is all there everything I have ever purchased or downloaded.
Thanks for the advice.
I just logged in online like you suggested but I still don't see some of my apps that were previously available on the market and no longer are. Specifically some of my rom stuff for snes and what not.
How can I back these apps up before I so a factory reset? Is there a way I can save them via USB?
Thanks again

[Q] Internal Memory and vibrate

Might as well try and kill 2 birds here. I have 2 problems with my rooted sidekick right now.
1) Very very very low internal memory. At this moment, by clearing the data of every app and text I could and deleting the facebook app, I have 14mb.
I'm really not sure what the heck happened, since I barely download anything (I think all I have 3rd party app-wise is facebook, twitter, baconreader, avast! and dolphin browser mini...) Is there any good way to check what exactly is eating up all my app memory? Or is there any good way to stuff everything onto my SD? I have like a gb left in there.
2) Even before I rooted my phone, I never get a vibrate when I get a text. I still get it for calls, but just never for texts, no matter what settings I put it in. Anyone have this problem?
I'm running with Gingerclone v2 iirc. Any help on these matters would be appreciated.
Hmm, now that you mention it, I see that I can't get a vibration for texts either, with any combinations of settings. Currently running stock KJ2 with the Bali_nxd kernel. I didn't know that was an issue with the device, but maybe it is.....?
As for the storage issue, where are you checking how much space is available? I have 53 apps installed, and I am showing about 170 free MB internal storage, and I check Task Manager regularly, and I tend to run with 50-70 free MB of RAM at all times.
Oh, and by default, all apps that CAN go to sdcard SHOULD go to the sdcard. You can check each individual app in settings/applications/manage applications, or DL a free market app to manage moving apps to sd. But I haven't done anything special, and all the apps that are able to have been stored on sd.
Okay, so Gingerclone uses AOSP messenger. You may have already tried this, but in the text messaging app, so into settings>notification settings>vibrate-and select always.
You may have already done this though, but if not, that should solve your problem!
Ok, totally thought I had posted a reply. So basically, tried changing the settings multiple times in multiple combinations, and it still won't vibrate on text :/
And with the memory, I bit the bullet and deleted Facebook and Twitter because those were the biggest apps I had, and it still only gave me a whopping 36mb of free space on my phone. And it says I don't even have enough free app memory to download an app manager. Although I only have 4 or 5 3rd party apps, and whatever came with gingerclone and stock. Its really not that much, and yet I can't free up any more memory at all. Even wiping all the data of all my apps frees up a couple hundred kb's at most.
I can't seem to get text messages to vibrate either....
As for the low internal storage, have you tried Odining back to stock, just to reset everything, and maybe that will reset/fix your data partition?

Ah ok cool, thanks. I am using the stock messaging app tho. But not the stock Touchwiz launcher... do you think that could be the issue?

Okay, so I ended up ODIN'ing my phone back to stock. Should I try and put Gingerclone v2 back on, while putting the stock messenger back in? Or do any of you guys have a different suggestion for an os?

i don't think there is any way to use GPS, or any apps, on the 09 LX. the data servers for those devices were shut down a year ago or more. unfortunately, you can only use calling and texting, as far as i know.
There was a third party GPS app for the Sidekick LX, but I don't recall the name.
I do remember that it was ten bucks a month! Yep, no lie... a month...
Like the Bing maps, the actual servers that supported it are long gone.
There's no hope for an old LX 09 GPS app. Sorry.

[Q] apps uninstalling themselves??

Happened abpot 4 days ago with gasbuddy... and then today with rom manager... what is happening???? The only new app I have installed is greenify... is this a problem?
Neither of them I used a lot but I'm not understanding what happened. Rom manager I never even stopped fromm running manually within settings. I had done that with the gasbuddy app.
How can I ensure this won't happen with anything else? I would HATE to lose game progress due to this.... bug or whatever it is!!
Help????

Something strange....

Hello guys,
I'm having a problem with my phone. I perform a full wipe (of everything except for bootloader) and then get the stock ICS by a RUU. When I upgraded to jellybean 4.2.2, some problems came, for example that, when I refresh the Blinkfeed page, I get the "com.htc.opensense.social has stop unexpectedly" error or the soft-touch keys don't vibrate when I touch'em. I tried to wipe again, but nothing. They are little issues, but a bit annoying. Anyone has an idea?
Im having same issue com.htc.opensocial. its a sync error for facebook or something else. I cant solve it fully
htc put facebook plugin on play store, if you see it try upgrading.
Today I've never seen it, so I hopped the problem was misteriously solved, but just five minutes ago, my homescreen freezed for some seconds after tapped on an app and it returned. It isn't a serious problem, 'cause Blinkfeed updates, but it's annoying seeing every times I refresh it this error. Looking for that plugin now...

Update:
First, I didn't find the plugin mentioned by xpirt, then I solved deleting data from facebook and facebook for HTC sense, going into Blinkfeed's option, deleting facebook's updates on it, refreshing it and, finally, re-put facebook on Blinkfeed.
