I don't know what skin you're using, but it should be in there.

The reason it's 9.X gb is because the phone's system files have to be stored somewhere. EVERYTHING involving the system (even things like ringtones, tones, wallpapers, etc.) have to have a place on the phone. That's what takes up a good portion of your storage. It isn't "missing", it's being used for important things.

It's because Sense is a fat kid

I understand that. Just like windows. But the SD card should be more than nine. That is what intern storage is for. But I guess it is a bit confusing being there is no physical SD card (at least removable). When I plug it into Linux, I get 11gb

It said it was running 2.2.1 but the video was fake as hell. Our tablet does not have an sd slot yet in the video it said sd mounted and as soon as it got to the part where it shows the storage amount it blurs out. Also the cameraman conveniently drops the camera the one time where the dude forgets to swipe his finger yet the tablet still switches to a new page. From the looks it did not seem legit to me at least.
It's probably seeing the internal drive space as the SD card space.

If u notice the SD storage read 28gigs. It's reading the internal SD card as the external. So that's legit. And second the nexus s I believe didn't have a SD slot yet the option was still there and showed storage.

It is fake. You can see in the video without him swiping it transitioned.
Also when he turned off the light the video clipped
We already have a team working on porting android on it as we speak. Furthermore I do not think the resolution is proper
As per the documentation, maximum resolution supported on the Froyo is 854x480 (WVGA854) and it looks more than that.
The video is fake, please move on.
Simply ask for a dump if they have it, or gtfo and exit the thread.

dropbox storage is cloud storage, or otherwords - its located in dropbox servers not your phone.
No, I rooted a few nights ago, and I still have all my extra storage. I just wish it was not only for 24 months.
Lol, I know its cloud storage but people were flashing the HTC one s software on the HTC sensation and were able to get the 25 gigs of storage because it had sence 4.0. Dropbox found out about this and took the storage away. I guess i should have asked if we will still have the storage after we remove sence because the 25gigs was intended for all device with sence 4.0
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA
yes, once you have activated it, its there for 2years.. Do what you wish with the phone, your storage space will always be there.
I activated dropbox after i rooted it and put a sense stripted down rom in it. Works fine
Gesendet von meinem HTC One S mit Tapatalk 2
even if you change to a ROM that doesn't have Dropbox preloaded on it then you always can download the app from Google Play Store..
I'm sorry this might be off topic, but does anyone have a clue about what happens with dropbox after the 24 months? Does the space just disappear or do we pay for it?
I would think it would disappear because we didn't have to enter any credit card info to sign up for it so they can't automatically charge you
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using XDA
They will inform you about it, You can either pay for it, Or your stuff will be gone and your space will be given to someone else

Dropbox will not delete your files. Any storage you have over your pre-HTC bonus limit will become read-only, and you will not be able to add (or possibly modify) anything until you remove the files to the limit you had before. Or obviously you could pay for an upgrade and keep full functionality.

Slightly off-topic, too, but I was wondering what would happen if I sell my One S?
Would the new owner be able to get the additional storage, too?
Or in other words and a bit more general: What exactly is the additional storage linked to? The SIM? The phone number?
Are you supposed to make a new dropbox account? I used the one I had previously and it is only showing 2.5gb available and I've had the phone for over two weeks now.

After logging in, I see it is definitely 2.5gb and I have had dropbox updated since I got the phone. I am still on the same amount as when I signed up.

Man, that phone sounds like it is going to be awesome! But why is everyone going to this internal memory thing only, rather than having an SD slot for extra external memory?!
I'm gonna go crazy!
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
If they make it internal its one less thing they have to worry about breaking. Plus they don't have to provide a memory card which is probably a lot cheaper making it internally. Lastly I think it may be a measure to prevent or slow down rooting.

You're a bit off. Why allow for removable storage? If you have a set amount and cannot change your SD card, you now have a hard space limit you never had before. When you can't store anymore on any device people look to cloud technology. We all have data plans so we can all use it. Now tell me, who provides cloud technology? Google has drive and Play Music, and they now offer movie rentals through the play store. If I can't store a movie file on my phone I'd be more inclined to rent and purchase my video files from them.
That is the reason why SD cards are being phased out. It allows for the advancement of cloud services which would hopefully lead to greater profits for companies such as google(and some manufacturers have their own cloud storage services or a partnership with a storage provider).
Yea that makes sense. Never looked at it that way.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk 2
It also gives them the ability to release new versions with larger internal memories every few months. Because they know there are a lot of suckers out there who will pay to trade up. A trick learned from Apple no doubt.
Look at what Moto is doing with the Razor. Same concept.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda app-developers app
A major flaw with that idea is that if internal memory fails you're screwed. If an SD card fails it can just be replaced. It would suck hard to have to send a phone in because the internal memory failed.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk 2
Crackable bootloader, 4G, removable battery and SD card storage, and unlimited data.
The T-bolt, despite its many flaws, has it all. I'm looking to stay here for as long as I can, because I like doing things on my terms.
In early January I get the privilege of lining Verizon's pockets for a newer, but ultimately more limited, device. No thanks. Contract ends in May, and I'll take a hard look at service providers then.
Until then let's keep on Verizon and HTC to honor their end of the thunderbolt bargain.
PS- The thread title almost made me think the OTA dropped. Almost.
Duely blundered from my thunderdolt.

I think its highly unlikely for an internal memory to fail. Phones and tablets are being designed more and more with just internal memory. Even if something goes wrong your still likely to just enter bootloader and then recovery and restore to a previous build. For example: The N7 is built w/ internal only and no one seems to have problems with it so far.( Knocking on wood) as I speak lol

Agreed, with no mechanical parts it's very unlikely to fail.

[HOW TO] reset AT&T data usage

so I figured this little trick out by accident actually. while it's pretty useful to know, I'd suggest not using it unless you really need to. basically don't abuse it or it'll get 'patched' (for lack of a better word).
STEP 1
have AT&T give you a new SIM card.
* going into any AT&T store and saying you're having signal issues will get you in and out the door with a new SIM in 5 minutes, free of charge.
STEP 2
you're all done.
* if you want to check to see that it worked, open your dialer, press *3282# (*DATA#) and hit call. in a free seconds you'll receive a free text message from AT&T updating you on your data usage. you'll see two lines, one of which will read (DEACTIVATED), and your data will be back at 0/3GB (*screenshot related)
anyways, try not to abuse this. it should really only be a last resort thing. so only use it if you really need it!

It's not tracked by SIM ID, it's tracked by IMEI, and Ph#, so something else reset your data.

Your screen shot proves your theory wrong -_-
Notice how it states your data twice but only once is deactivated...nowhere does it say 0mb used out of whatever...your current data usage is about 2900 mb, don't go over!!!!
-nice try tho

Well I apologize, I just found it hard to believe you used that much data so quickly...based off me assuming you only did this recently. Of course its entirely possible to use that much data fast -one hd movie will put you close to there....but it was just so close to the other one I assumed it was never reset...really should take my moms advice on never assuming things as half the times when you assume you end up being wrong

Hearts and minds ^^
As for the topic at hand, don't you think it's a little devious to have your data reset like that? In the long term its gonna create more bothersome questions for the rest of us down the road when we do have realm SIM issues
