remove red "developer" text? - HTC One S

Hi, Im wondering how to remove the red "developer" text from the splash screen on my moms one s? (s4)
Its S-OFF and is de-branded, so im sure its possible, but ive only found workarounds for the One V and EVO 4G LTE

Is it really that big a deal for the inherent risk.
If you mess it up, you are off your Mom's Holiday/Birthday list

No risk, no fun.

HTC Now Offering to Unlock our Bootloaders

http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-n...ck-hero-legend-eris-mytouch-3g-and-mytouch-4g
HTC has turned on the Wayback Machine and is now offering a bootloader unlock solution for the Droid Eris, the HTC Hero, the HTC Legend, and the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and 4G flavors. It's a move that surprises most of us, as we never expected HTC to go back that far in their device lineup to do the right thing. Most of us have moved past these devices, but I can't be the only one who wants to get a little nostalgic and break out the phone we used before the phone we used before the phone we're using now and give it a go. Do note that the Hero unlock tool is for the GSM versions only, and you may have to flash a new RUU (HTC-speak for a full OEM ROM) to do the deed.
But, hey, they were great phones for their time, and they deserve the same treatment as todays great phones do. Thanks, HTC! Hit the source link to get your unlock on.

[Q] What to look for on a used Sensation

Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade to a sensation. I'm coming from the MT4G and was wondering what I should look for when looking for a used sensation. I'm going the Craigslist route because I cant upgrade just yet. Just wondering if any devices came with any defects. In the mytouch world the mytouches had two different screens. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys
Sensation also has two different screen makers, but the difference is night and day like the MT4G.
Second, make sure it works. Its a phone after all. Open the back cover and make sure the pins aren't bent.
The two screens should be alright, some people prefer the acer screen vs the sharp screen. It doesn't matter unless you want to notice it. That's pretty much it, check for the usual water damage, and warranty void sticker on one of the screws.

How can you tell which one you have and which is better?

Just realized you're a Giants fan also.
Some people prefer the AUO screen and some prefer sharp. Unless you have OCD you're not going to care as much if you have an AUO screen.
I prefer sharp though.
Check in H Boot to make sure it's not H Boot 1.23, s on, it's no bueno for flashing radios or RUU because it can't be unlocked via any method and your stuck on incomplete firmware with no way out. In other words, you can't unlock the parts of the bootloader needed to flash firmwares, etc. This is more important than sharp or acer screens, IMO. No going back to stock. H Boot 1.23 s off is fine.

1.17.0000 is fine as you can use revolutionary.io to S-OFF the phone.
If it's later 1.20/1.23/1.27 you need to ensure the phone is already S-OFF. There are a few folks that have updated the HBOOT before S-OFF'ing the phone and now stuck.

What model phond

Hi all
I have a HTC sensetation its unlocked to any network so I'm not sure if u can use the HTC bootloader unlock app and even if its worth rooting and or using the htcdev one I have beats studio by dre would be nice to try them in beats audio anyways, bricking happens a lot on HTC sensetations? I've rooted my xoom and old school topaz Haha

It's Sensation.
Like, look everywhere around the forums for the proper spelling if you are not sure.
Yes It's worth rooting!!! I love my rooted HTC sensation! I'm running Android 4.0.3 and sense 4, on my device! I've got bricked kernel, it's running sweet! Custom Roms and rooting opened a whole new world for me! My device totally rocks now! I couldn't imagine not rooting. It truly frees you, your device truly then becomes your own! If you don't care for something just change it when your rooted! Thanks to the wonderful developers on xda there are many different choices of Roms, mods, themes. It's truely a awesome experience! I don't regret it for a second! It's a must! In my opinion your device is not truly yours until your rooted!

Yes, No, and Low to none (also it can be now unbricked - but you must be a total noob to brick it).
Don't use htc dev method! Depending on your hboot use revolutionary or juponotbear

Hello everyone

Just switched to my millionth android phone, coming from a t989, picked up a sensation. Looking to eventually root and find a clean stable ROM. Looking forward to some suggestions, maybe tips and tricks.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
Hi and welcome! You can take a look at Sensation general forums and they have the rooting guides there. Also look at sensation android development and the roms Are there. Before anything you need to know your h boot version in order to find the guide that is correct for you. In order to find that you pull out your battery, then place it back in and press your volume down and power button at the same time. A screen will come up with your information. On top will be your h boot version. Write it down. Then you can find the correct rooting guide for your boot version.l read through the guide a few times. I suggest to even print the guide out so you can refer to EVERY step with ease . I did this and trust me it helps a lot because you can't miss a single step. Before you begin familiarize yourself with the guide. It's worth the effort in the end. Before you know it you will be S-off and rooted . I do suggest you also S-off because you will have more freedom later and be able to flash a lot easier. This is my opinion. I'm S-off. S off is like security off . Since your rooting you might as well soff also. The guide will tell you how. I hope these tips help you out. And I want to say again welcome. Best wishes!

Thanks for all that awesome information, I'm very familiar with routing and s-off and all that. To be honest,I underestimated this phone. I have never seen so much development for a phone and I'm kinda overwhelmed with all the roms, as to which are popular and stable and the latest.

I am kinda confused though, is it normal that the phone signal shuts off with the battery door off?

I've got to say, I had 3 Amazes, this is my first sensation and I like it so much better, but I can't quite pinpoint why. It feels great in the hands, I love the groove asking the glass, and the thin-ness of it. I know speed for disc the amaze is suppose to be better, but this phone is real nice.
One thing I notice, it seems a little longer, yet a little more narrow as far as the screen goes? Maybe it's just me, coming from a 4.52 inch screen
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
Just checked my hboot version, it's 1.27.0000 so I'm going to start looking into the easiest way to perm root my sensation and see which ROM is best. Viper seems like the most popular.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
You're right, viper is the most popular, but that's probably because team venom does so much work with sense and they have devs for a lot of HTC devices so they get things done and put a ton of features, by the way, be careful on juopunut bear. I know you've had the amaze and you've probably already done it, read everything very carefully because you do not want your new phone to be bricked
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
For ICS ROMs I'd have to say ARHD is by far the fastest and smoothest. Cm9 wasn't bad but I still find it laggy and buggy even in final build. I won't mention jellybean because you said you wanted something stable and I take that as no betas . Good luck and just remember that if you get s-off and super cid you will save yourself a lot of trouble with incompatibility issues.
Sent from my Sensation 4G Bruces CMX jellybean ROM using XDA Premium
REMEMBER TO HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU IN ANY WAY, IT'S POLITE AND APPRECIATED.
If you to try a sense rom really close to vanilla ICS I would go with virtual inquisition. I used it for many months, it was really good battery life was great. But development has seized for that rom.

I hate to be that guy that asks, but is there an all in one method I could follow for hboot 1.27.000 to get s-off and root with recovery? I've been searching I'm kind of overwhelmed lol. Could someone provide a link? Thanks in advance.

means your phone is temp rooted, run the un temp root script
I figured it out, just had to finish the instructions lol. It didn't say anything about the black screen so I jumped the gun and got worried lol. It's all good now, downloading viper ROM

Now that we have s off...

What do you guys think that the developers have up their sleeve to make this already awesome phone more awesome?? Sorry if this comes off as a noob question..

Dual boot is what I'm hoping for. But on this device s-off doesn't achieve much more than we already have.
Sent from my VENOMized HoxL
Dual boot is the Holy Grail.
We had most of the traditional s-off functions like radios and splash screens already because of various exploits that were uncovered. Of course, removing the red text on boot is a big one in terms of aesthetics, if not functionality.
