Now that we have s off... - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

What do you guys think that the developers have up their sleeve to make this already awesome phone more awesome?? Sorry if this comes off as a noob question..
Sent from my One X using xda premium

Dual boot is what I'm hoping for. But on this device s-off doesn't achieve much more than we already have.
Sent from my VENOMized HoxL

Dual boot is the Holy Grail.
We had most of the traditional s-off functions like radios and splash screens already because of various exploits that were uncovered. Of course, removing the red text on boot is a big one in terms of aesthetics, if not functionality.

[Q] What to look for on a used Sensation

Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade to a sensation. I'm coming from the MT4G and was wondering what I should look for when looking for a used sensation. I'm going the Craigslist route because I cant upgrade just yet. Just wondering if any devices came with any defects. In the mytouch world the mytouches had two different screens. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys
Sensation also has two different screen makers, but the difference is night and day like the MT4G.
Second, make sure it works. Its a phone after all. Open the back cover and make sure the pins aren't bent.
The two screens should be alright, some people prefer the acer screen vs the sharp screen. It doesn't matter unless you want to notice it. That's pretty much it, check for the usual water damage, and warranty void sticker on one of the screws.

Just realized you're a Giants fan also.
Some people prefer the AUO screen and some prefer sharp. Unless you have OCD you're not going to care as much if you have an AUO screen.
I prefer sharp though.
Check in H Boot to make sure it's not H Boot 1.23, s on, it's no bueno for flashing radios or RUU because it can't be unlocked via any method and your stuck on incomplete firmware with no way out. In other words, you can't unlock the parts of the bootloader needed to flash firmwares, etc. This is more important than sharp or acer screens, IMO. No going back to stock. H Boot 1.23 s off is fine.

1.17.0000 is fine as you can use revolutionary.io to S-OFF the phone.
If it's later 1.20/1.23/1.27 you need to ensure the phone is already S-OFF. There are a few folks that have updated the HBOOT before S-OFF'ing the phone and now stuck.

How come we have Barely any development

I see so many other phones with so many rooms and none have a the ability our phone has so why do we have such little development
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Because we don't have an unlocked boot loader yet. The international HOX has lots of development. Just hold off. For not having much to work with we have a great community going, and some pretty cool RUU's to flash if you want. For right now stock is enough to keep me moving though. It's pretty awesome stock.

I think the XL development is actually going rather fast. I was prepared to not have root for at least a couple weeks, we got it what 3 days after official release? Just sit tight, good things are on the way just don't forget the donate and thank you buttons when they do show up.
Are you f*cking with us? The phone has been out for a week.

HTC One X+? <\3 One XL?

Is the new One X+ a worthy upgrade to the XL? I hope development for the XL doesn't disappear as I think its still pretty awesome ;D

I don't think it's meant for one x users to upgrade. It came too soon, and also it's not ground breaking. It's to attract new users to one x line while also competing and/or surpassing the competition (galaxy s3)

at whats point do we have "high development"?
everything has come to a stop lately, minus the handful of broken JB roms.
not too much to do more until jb sense rom is out. maybe some new devs might come if we get s-off or root for 2.20.

There isn't much more to add to Sense ROMs that we don't have.
For AOSP, we have CM10, AOKP and Miui... Among others.

Our development is so much more than what other phones have. We have multiple great AOSP ROMs. None of which are broken, in my opinion, but I can see where you are coming from when you say things have come to a stop. It has slowed but I'm a patient person so I guess it didn't bother me too much.
i dont mind waiting at all because devs do an awesome job. I just hope if they get the One X+, we won't be forgotten!! :L I want to hold on to my evita for a while longer yet!
Hey, I'm sorry to threadjack a bit but I don't want to start a new one because this one is pretty basic. If I were to get a new One X that wasn't on the 2.2 OTA, unlock it's bootloader, root, and put some CM10 on it before it developing some stuck pixels or some manufacturer defect like that, how would I go about getting it into a condition in which the device support center folks won't process the return normally? This is very easy on the Inspire 4G
relock bootloader and run the 1.85 ruu. pretty much all you can do.

Great news. I swore off HTC because they were pushing out hardware so fast but they lured me back in with this device. When my next upgrade comes around...so long from now... it'll definitely be a nexus device. So tired of this bootloader game and the headache they cause.
Ugh. I had the hox before when it first came out and the bootloader was locked. I liked the phone but the multitasking stuff and the lack of space and the non- replaceable battery made me go back to the galaxy line. Well ive been missing my x lately so I was looking to get another one and obviously wanting one that can be unlocked to run roms and stuff. But now I see this one coming out. I'm curious would it be better to wait for this one? I do like the fact the battery is bigger and the phone space is bigger since u can't use an sd card. But I'm sure the bootloader will be locked up tight. Wonder if I'm not better off just finding a used hox. U guys ever run into issues with only having 16g?

I honestly have not had issues with storage. I use drop box for pics and videos and Google play music for my collection. Most other things I have on my tablet such as games and other apps. So storage for me is OK but it may not be for you. I to will be getting a nexus for my next device so I will be keeping the one xl until then. It has been a perfect device for me. Awesome devs here and great people willing to help.

While I'm still mad at HTC over my original tegra 3 one x, I can't help but lust over the x+. I've run out of storage on my one xl due to my music...kinda sucks. I'll wait to see how development pans out for the one xl first before making the jump though. It would seem 2.20 has our devs stuck. Wouldn't want to buy the x+ and be stuck with the stock att ROM!

haha lucky I got my bootloader unlocked a while ago. custom stuff is no problem for me. and it's a shame you've only got 16gb for the AT&T model. I've got an unbranded One XL so therefore i have 32gb
The One X+ looks like a pretty significant upgrade to me.
Just a question to those saying that they're gonna get the next Nexus - do you really want an LG made Android device and one that may be named the LG Optimus Nexus G? Rumor also has it that it will come with carrier bloat and a way to install LG's custom interface.
The Nexus phone being the flagship Android phone is no more. Google, sadly, isn't going in that direction anymore.

How is the One X? From a SGS3 User

Hello One X users ,
Just wonderin what I might've missed out when I decided to get the SGS3. One X seemed pretty tempting at the time.
So how's development, the community and the phone itself?
The community is certainly more close than other forums like the GS3 and One S, One X Intl. etc.
Development is good unless you are on the latest AT&T 2.20 software, which a previous exploit used to root has been patched, so if you are on 2.20 you can't root yet.
Phone itself is awesome, awesome camera, stock software etc. IMO, the GS3 touchwiz is foul, Sense 4.0 is much more elegant.

Development is solid. It's a good community and the amount of updates and roms isn't overwhelming, yet you can find decent improvements every week.
In terms of the phone, the One X takes the cake with it's screen alone. The Super LCD is superior to the SGS3's pentile AMOLED. It actually rivals iPhone's retina display, despite the larger size.
I think what made me decide between the two was when I tried out Flipboard on both phones. The One X was sharper, smoother and faster. The SGS3 seemed fast when using Touchwiz, but Flipboard was jittery and blurry.
But of course, everyone has different tastes. I do miss the removable battery and expandable memory, and extra RAM would be nice.
I'm still blown away by the screen mostly

The screen and the fact it's not made out of so cheap plastic like the Samsung. It is still plastic but being made out of a solid one piece makes it seem more solid and a little heavier too which is great.
Over-all, I've had my phone since June and I LOVE it. The Roms that out there currently are AMAZING.

I bought mine for the awesome screen. It's very smooth and lag-free. Only downsides (for me) compared to siii are lack of sdcard slot and powered otg.
Lol, not a troll thread. I'm serious. And yes, the screen probably is far superior to the AMOLED on the S3. I had an iPhone and the S3's screen can't even compare. I gotta go play with the One X soon lol.
Speaking of which, how's rooting for Canadian Carriers?
Coming from a few Samsung devices I miss having a screen that doesn't scratch spontaneously, the microSD slot, USB OTG, TouchWiz codec support, and task650 (super smooth, stable, complete AOKP).
The screen is nice, the camera is great. Sense 4 is growing on me. Still too much change for the sake of change for my taste, but light years ahead of sense 3.x, and something you have to get used to if you want the best battery life and camera.

Damn didn't realize there's no otg. I was thinking of getting a hox to play with for awhile but I don't think 16g will cut it for me. I know I can stream from drop box but unless ur in wifi, that eats a lot of data. But Ive had the hox when it first came out and it was a nice phone.

Techinally you can make it work if you have a y-splitter and a power source. Not just plug it in like a Samsung device. I don't count that as "functional."
